Behind the scenes
"Xian" may be a reference of the real-life XAC, Xi'an Aircraft Industrial Corporation[1], a major Chinese military and civilian aircraft manufacturer. In our timeline, XAC specialize in design and manufacture of bombers and transport planes, but not fighters. Interesting enough, XAC is a major certified part supplier of American aircraft coglomerate Boeing, who outsource production of parts such as vertical tails to XAC's Yanliang factory.
