| The following is based on Fallout Tactics and some details might contradict canon. |
This was an experimental weapon at the time of the war. Manufactured, primarily, from high-strength polymers, the weapon is almost indestructible. It's light, fast firing, accurate, and can be broken down without the use of any tools.
”The XL70E3 is a small gun in Fallout Tactics.
Characteristics
Edit
This weapon is superior to both the AK47 and the M16A1, but the magazine is inferior to both rifles. The Enfield does much more damage than the M16A1, but the M16 has a much farther range, (enough so that you can burst fire in the M16A1 farther than you can shoot single rounds in the Enfield.)
Location
Edit
St. Louis, southwest corner of the mutant base in a crate (near the toxic moat)
Behind the scenes
Edit
In our reality, the XL70 was a prototype of the British SA80 family of weapons. It was the first of the prototypes to use 5.56 ammunition (the XL64/5s using an experimental British 4.85x49mm round).
