A typical wrench used by mechanics. It appears only in Fallout 2. While not very useful as a weapon, it is needed for the Deliver pliers (tools) and a wrench to Valerie quest.

Locations:

• Found by receiving the tip from Curtis after completing the Find Mr. Nixon quest
• In the second level of Vault 8, in a storage room (requires a high lockpick skill)
• Redding, at the Morningstar Mining headquarters, in a locker
• Occasionally the general purpose store in San Francisco has them in stock
• A ghoul caravan along the Gecko-Broken Hills trade route also carries wrenches.
• Found in the back area of New Reno Arms
• In the Chop Shop

Fallout 3 item Wrench uses: Rock-It Launcher ammo weight: 1 value: 1 base id: 0005B6D0

The wrench can also be found as a miscellaneous junk usable as Rock-It Ammo in Fallout 3. It cannot be used to repair anything or as a weapon.

[edit] Unique wrenches

There are two unique wrenches in Fallout 3. The first is called Donovan's Wrench, obtained by killing Donovan of Reilly's Rangers - however it is marked as a quest item (used to fix the elevator in the Reilly's Rangers quest) and cannot be dropped or traded, giving you a permanent pound of carry weight. The second is called the Spanner, and was intended for inclusion in the Mothership Zeta add-on, but was cut. It is only obtainable through the command console, disappears when dropped, and has an incomplete set of animations.

There are over 370 guaranteed locations for the wrench, often near workbenches. They may also be found in random loot.

• The first wrench to be found is next to a dead mechanic in Vault 101 during "Escape!"
• 17 can be found on the Factory Floor of the Red Racer Factory
• 15 are scattered around Meresti Metro Station
• 15 are in Evergreen Mills Bazaar
• 11 can be found on the RobCo Facility Factory Floor
• 10 are in the utility tunnels beneath the White House
