The winterized Chinese jumpsuit and the winterized Chinese commando hat (simply called Chinese jumpsuit and Chinese commando hat in game) are a uniform worn by Chinese soldiers inside the Anchorage Reclamation simulation in the Fallout 3 add-on Operation: Anchorage.
The suit is nearly identical to the Chinese jumpsuit, yet sports a white skin for improved camouflage in the Alaskan environment. Unlike the non-winterized version, it does not provide a bonus to Small Guns. Like most of the items introduced in Operation: Anchorage, it has two variants - a simulation variant (with 999,100 HP) and a wasteland variant (with normal HP).
The hat is similar to the Chinese commando hat but features an additional white balaclava and goggles. Like the suit, it is also missing the bonus of its non-winterized counterpart and, like the jumpsuit, there are both a simulation and wasteland variant with different item HP values.
Both the suit and hat can be repaired using their non-winterized equivalents.
The jumpsuit and hat can only be acquired through console commands, due to the fact that enemies killed in Operation: Anchorage disappear in a shimmer of blue light and cannot be looted. Reverse pickpocketing attempts will also fail to yield a set, as the NPC will change into the given armor (i.e., winterized combat armor/helmet with balaclava) but their original uniform/hat does not appear in their inventory whatsoever. This appears to be the only outfit and hat (Jingwei's hat) that cannot be acquired in the "OA" sim despite its appearance and being the main enemy uniform in the simulation. The primary cause of the jumpsuit (and balaclava) not being obtainable is that it is flagged as non-playable in the GECK.
- A Chinese commando hat is available in the sim (lying atop some sandbags just to the left of the allied base exit near the line of prisoners being executed by the U.S.), but it is not the winterized version with balaclava/goggles and is exactly the same as the wasteland variant (aside from having sim HP).
Behind the scenesEdit
Like the non-winterized version, this jumpsuit is based on 1950s Korean War Chinese and North Korean Uniforms. Also because there is a wasteland version of the outfit, it might have originally been a reward upon completion of Operation: Anchorage.
