The following is based on information from Fallout Shelter or Fallout Shelter Online. |
War of the Nerds is a single-stage overseer quest in Fallout Shelter.
Walkthrough[]
This quest takes place in a vault with a random layout with between six and seven floors. The top floor has a dweller you can speak to in the second room. On this quest, there are mole rats in groups of three, and radroaches in groups of three. On the second floor in the rightmost room are two hostile dwellers (who, like enemies, are functionally the same as raiders), wearing a sci-fi fan outfit and an officer's uniform.
On the third floor, in the leftmost room is a group of dwellers who are Space Trip fans, and can turn hostile depending on the dialogue option. The first dialogue option is a peaceful option. You are given a laser pistol and a rare weapon recipe if you select the correct option. The room they are in contains a sci-fi fan outfit. On the fourth floor, there is a trio of hostile dwellers in the rightmost room, two of them wearing BoS uniforms, the other wearing wasteland gear, and all of them wielding raider swords.
On the fifth floor, in the leftmost room, are a group of dwellers who are Cosmic Clash fans, who will also turn hostile depending on the dialogue option chosen. The third dialogue option is the peaceful option, and you will be given a legendary weapon recipe and a republic robe. The room also contains a sturdy wasteland gear. Everything from here on is optional.

Ah, you're finally here! I was beginning to despair! Those nerds have started shooting each other over their stupid serials! |
Right, we'll get right on it. Which are the main factions? | You've got fans of Space Trip - Trippies - and Cosmic Clash adepts. |
In the name of the Planetary League, I command you to stop! Are you despicable Cosmic Clash nerds, or classy Space Trip aficionados? |
I believe it's vol. 2, issue 7, “Nebulous Intentions.” | Correct! Let's all lay down our arms and re-read that classic episode. |
Technobabblium isn't real. | You lie! What else would you use to realign tachyonic flow polarity?
Are you wearing... alien ears? | Ugh! Set masers to carbonize!
Greetings, I am Senator Kari of the Concordat. Welcome to our very, very distant nebula. |
Your superstition is no match for our rusty weapons! | You forget our Energy Scimitars! Pkssshiioom... vwoom... vwooom... |
Uh uh... | Star Council commandos! I knew it!
We only seek cosmic harmony. The galaxy's big enough for all. | Our passion *should* bring us together, not push us apart. Thank you, space traveler. |
