Dad, you can barely tie your shoelaces, much less repair anything with moving parts.Valerie to Vic

Vic the Trader is the character the Chosen One is originally dispatched to find in Fallout 2. He is to be found in The Den in 2241.

BackgroundEdit

Vic sold the tribals of Arroyo a number of Vault 13 water flasks as holy relics. He originally purchased them from a trader in Vault City. He resides in Klamath, but Metzger, the slaver leader, has taken Vic prisoner after he sold him a busted radio and is holding him inside of their Slaver's Guild compound.

Vic has a daughter, Valerie who lives and works in Vault City, who is the fruit of love between him and a Vault City citizen. He never loved Valerie's mother much, often calling her the Desert Viper. It seems his child has inherited her mother's genes.

NotesEdit

  • If Vic has a higher Repair skill than the player character (which he likely will, with that final 130%), he will run up to and repair about anything that the Repair skill can be used on.
  • If accompanied by Sulik, Vic will constantly say that Sulik is looking at him funny.[1]
  • Once Vic is in company, he will often refer to the Chosen One as "Boss". Much to the disdain of his daughter.[2]
  • If his daughter is attacked, Vic will turn hostile.[3]
  • If Vic has called the Chosen One "boss" many times, a new dialogue option appears that will make him start calling the Chosen One "chief" instead.[4]
  • Despite having a great Energy Weapons skill (higher than his Small Guns skill), Vic can't use any energy weapon rifles, only pistols.

AppearancesEdit

Vic appears only in Fallout 2 and is mentioned in the Fallout Bible.

Behind the scenesEdit

Vic, being a trader, is likely a reference to the chain of Tiki bars named Trader Vic's, the first of which opened in Oakland near San Francisco in 1934.
