FilmThe following is based on the canceled Fallout movie and has not been confirmed by canon sources.

Vault 8 was set to appear in the canceled Fallout movie.

BackgroundEdit

There were thirteen mentioned vaults in the Fallout film treatment,[1] but only two were set to appear in the film proper. These two vaults were Vault 8 and Vault 13.

It is fair to assume, seen as the southern Californian vaults were identical in design, that, similarly to Vault 13, Vault 8 produced the L.A. Times and was also a scaled down replica of Los Angeles.[2][3][4]

During the film, the scouts, minus Techy who was killed on the journey, come across Vault 8 in a state of disrepair. The skeletal remains of numerous super mutants lie outside, but Hero ventures in regardless in order to find the water chip they came for. Thanks to his unparalleled knowledge of Vault 13,[5] he is able to escape the security systems still active in the Vault. Still, all the scouts are captured outside the vault entrance by Max, who takes them captive.[6]

It is revealed later in the film that Max was in fact born here, and that the vault was in the state it was in due to a mutant attack. The survivors were later killed by scavengers or enslaved.[7]

LocationsEdit

Vault 8 is revealed to be a two day hike from Vault 13.[8]

AppearancesEdit

Vault 8 was set to appear in the Fallout movie by Interplay Films.
