Welcome to our Fallout wiki and thank you for your contributions! I hope you'll stay with us and make many more improvements.
A little help to get you started:
Recent changes lets you see what other people are editing right this minute and where you can help. You can also check our community portal for things to do.
If you haven't already, create a user page about yourself. If you do, we'll be able to know you better as a member of our community.
The help pages can help you learn how to edit and how use the wiki tools. The Vault's policies and guidelines can help you with putting those tools to good use and getting up to speed with our editing customs.
I'm glad to have you here and look forward to working with you!
It was removed because it didn't play nicely with our fixed width. The editcount is next to one's name in the user page header anyway, albeit not as big. -- Porter21(talk) 10:30, July 28, 2010 (UTC)
One divergence would make it different. Any more than one is irrelevant since it's already a different universe. --Kris 22:40, September 6, 2010 (UTC)
If you want a private conversation, use email. Everything on The Vault is public. --Kris 22:55, September 6, 2010 (UTC)
I can't decide if that reply was an apology or an excuse. --Kris 23:08, September 6, 2010 (UTC)
In that case, apology accepted. As for the divergence thing, it doesn't matter what happens after the first divergence, because once that happens, it's a different universe. Whether any further divergences occur is immaterial, and it would be odd if a divergent universe didn't diverge further. --Kris 23:16, September 6, 2010 (UTC)
There are, but I couldn't tell you specifically what they are. A more experienced admin would know, however; ask Nitty. --Kris 23:53, September 8, 2010 (UTC)
The guidelines are keep it decently short, and pictures must be under 40px big. Pictures should also count against the 5 per person rule of user page images. NittyTok. 00:12, September 9, 2010 (UTC)
Yuppers, unless it's just a picture that's already laying around the Vault. If you're going to add your own image, don't forget to add [[Category:User page images]] to it. NittyTok. 00:18, September 9, 2010 (UTC)
I'm not the guy to ask about templates, Kris is. I don't use a template. :P NittyTok. 00:25, September 9, 2010 (UTC)
I'd say yes, but not in the template namespace - use a subpage of your userpage for that. Ausir(talk) 00:43, September 9, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, that looks fine. NittyTok. 01:06, September 9, 2010 (UTC)
Sorry I couldn't get back to you on that, I was on my way home from work. Good to see you got it all sorted. I used JASPER42's sig templates as a guideline for my own. --Kris 01:10, September 9, 2010 (UTC)
I just noticed that your sig has two images in it; the limit is one image per sig, which I noticed was in the rules today. You're gonna have to pick one and get rid of the other one. --Kris 02:05, September 16, 2010 (UTC)
It doesn't matter, though. No real-world references, with specific exceptions such as guns that are named the same as a real-world gun. --Kris 16:49, September 23, 2010 (UTC)
Hmm that does change things. Go ahead and put it back in for now, I'll let another admin decide whether or not it stays. --Kris 16:56, September 23, 2010 (UTC)
thx for doing that to my post, i dont know how but something just messed up and it was gon. but ya thx for puting it back up--MrDot01 19:22, September 24, 2010 (UTC)
Yes, species are capitalized, hence Yao Guai - a species of bear. Mirelurks are a type of animal encompassing multiple species - some mutated crabs, some mutated turtles. Being that it's also not a genus, phylum, or other classification, it doesn't get capitalized. --Kris 22:01, September 24, 2010 (UTC)
I have noooo idea, Holmes. I'm a doctor, not a template wizard. I'd ask Porter when he gets back, whenever that'll be. NittyTok. 22:47, September 24, 2010 (UTC)
I think it has to do with this page. You'll have to hit "edit" to see anything, though. --Kris 22:53, September 24, 2010 (UTC)
Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Point the man in the general direction of a river, and he'll figure it out and do something. XD NittyTok. 23:13, September 24, 2010 (UTC)
Again, no. NittyTok. 03:30, September 25, 2010 (UTC)
Operating system - including whether it's 32-bit or 64-bit, for XP or later.
Actually that's all I need for the moment, the other stuff depends on the answer to that. --Kris 19:55, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
See here. It might help you. If you have questions, you can ask me, or if you still want to ask Kris, do so. - Ghouly89 (Talk) 20:03, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
Generalised Universal Role-Playing System, I think.
I dunno, I like SPECIAL more. :P NittyTok. 03:51, October 3, 2010 (UTC)
One thing to note is that GURPS is way more flexible and usable than SPECIAL in settings other than Fallout. Never try to make a game with SPECIAL unless it's a Fallout game. NittyTok. 04:03, October 3, 2010 (UTC)
Yup. They tried to make two fantasy games with SPECIAL, and both of them flopped. The SIMPLE RPG that Sawyer was making also flopped about halfway through, because he got mixed up and started using SPECIAL in place of SIMPLE. NittyTok. 04:11, October 3, 2010 (UTC)
Well, SPECIAL is an acronym and SIMPLE is just the word simple, for starters. :P
Simple is SPECIAL without Luck, or action points, and with everything seriously reduced. SPECIA_s start off at -3 and max out at 5, skills start at 0 and max at 30. Very simple. NittyTok. 04:15, October 3, 2010 (UTC)
Yup yup. Fixing the RPG is on my big bad List Of Things To Do When I Have Funding, along with a complete overhaul of Mothership Zeta, and figuring out how to tweak animations on mods so that my hands don't clip right on through the Barret M82A2. NittyTok. 04:22, October 3, 2010 (UTC)
There's a reason that sledgehammers aren't used to fell trees. Axes chop - that's a cutting action, NOT a "smashing, breaking, crushing" action. And while you may have taken a course in ballistics, I have real-world first-hand experience in the use of axes and the felling of trees. This included occupational training in the use of axes, among other tools. --Kris 22:41, October 16, 2010 (UTC)
Unless you can cite credible sources to the contrary, they're not classified as blunt. --Kris 22:58, October 16, 2010 (UTC)
I also changed the wording of the section titles to read Bladed rather than Blade. Axes have blades. I was looking for a way to avoid fruitless arguing over semantics, and I think having a blade vs not having a blade works well.--Gothemasticator 00:51, October 17, 2010 (UTC)
Hey, man. On the Anthony House page, where did you actually find his name written as 'Anthony'? All I could find was Alexander.
...right, I know how to sign. Forgot for the previous post, not sure why. Back on the subject, I'm not sure what "go through the factory" means. Do you mean the H&H headquarters? Because I went through and checked all the terminals with the hidden files on them. Only one even used the name 'House,' and the final one was the only one to actually clarify that House was the writer's name. That was also the one that was signed 'Alexander House,' to boot. --Char-Nobyl 20:26, December 2, 2010 (UTC)
When brackets are used in a page name they refer to the game something is in, e.g. Rex, Rex (Fallout 3), Rex (Fallout Tactics) and Rex (Fallout: New Vegas) are all different Rexes. So, as clean isn't a Fallout game the title should be Cosmic knife clean. I meant to move it to that, but my finger slipped and pressed enter, upon trying to fix this it appears that there is already a page called Cosmic knife clean, but it incorrectly redirects to Cosmic knife (clean).Jasper: The Wonder that is Shroomman! 18:08, December 23, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, like I said, someone else had incorrectly redirected. But thought I;d just explain because of your ? when you moved it back. Also, your sig doesn't work.Jasper: The Wonder that is Shroomman! 18:14, December 23, 2010 (UTC)
Just as a note, we use in-game spelling. Although the proper way to spell it is with or without the accent. The move has be reverted. Thanks for the edits on The Vault.--Kingclyde 19:27, December 28, 2010 (UTC)
Where is the insignia? I'm going by the , and I don't see anything. Am I blind?--Gothemasticator 01:31, December 31, 2010 (UTC)
No need to get rude and personal. I asked a question. An answer would suffice. And a pic showing the insignia would benefit the article.--Gothemasticator 01:37, December 31, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the pic! I'm going to add it to the page for reference.--Gothemasticator 01:51, December 31, 2010 (UTC)
It's Helios. Poseidon Energy codenames are based on Greek mythology names. Furthermore, we decapitalize their codenames, if they aren't an actual acronym. Tagaziel(call!) 21:55, January 2, 2011 (UTC)
You wrote this after changing "gift" to "give" in Become an initiate. However, gift can be used as both a noun and a verb; the latter usage can be shown as: I decided to gift the newlyweds with a princely sum of money.
See the 6th use of the word on this page. -- Ghouly89 (Talk) 01:52, January 23, 2011 (UTC)
I'll agree with you that "give" sounds better in this instance. But yes, it does matter, because now you have (hopefully) furthered your knowledge of the English language. ;) -- Ghouly89 (Talk) 02:58, January 23, 2011 (UTC)
I'll admit, I did just unintentionally lecture you... but I don't usually do that unless I see it fit. Maybe you should just treat it as advice, not a lecture. Either way, I didn't mean harm by it. -- Ghouly89 (Talk) 03:12, January 23, 2011 (UTC)
how do you delete the page i have only just join this and cant work it out
Ha suppose not Yuri! So how have you been? I've only recently decided I want to be active here(made 2 edits around March 2010) because after seeing how good the admins were I decided to come... allot of people told me the admins were really mean, rude, made dumb policies.... or maybe they were talking about the Fallout Fan Fiction wiki. Ah well sorry for the ramble anyway how have you been?{{SUBST:Template:Sniperteam82308}} 19:15, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
Must've been the Fallout Fanon then. To bad I got the two mixed up otherwise I likely would have come sooner. I mean I came here for some information before(mainly updates on the up and coming DLC and when it still wasn't released New Vegas. And yea I like Ausir I've met him before... well on wikia I mean. Anyway what DLC are you looking forward to most?{{SUBST:Template:Sniperteam82308}} 19:26, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
That'll be a great one I know it. I'm interested in Old World Blues though. That one I'm convinced people will either love it or hate it depending on how the story is worked through. But hey Fallout DLCs usually have great stories. So I hear you left the CoD? Finally realize the admins aren't doing their jobs?{{SUBST:Template:Sniperteam82308}} 19:32, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
I left in September. Only coming back to provide an answer to Sactage as why I left and why I didn't like him.{{SUBST:Template:Sniperteam82308}} 19:36, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
Haha. Yea. {{SUBST:Template:Sniperteam82308}} 19:39, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
Alright. We have such creative names for our You Tube accounts. Where do we come up with them.:) Haha.{{SUBST:Template:Sniperteam82308}} 19:42, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
Yea. So I suppose I've never asked you this but do you read comics? Such as Marvel or D.C.? Both are doing terrible. What with a time travling Batman and Spider-Man joining the Fantastic Four(Well he did try in Issue 3) along with Doctor Doom.{{SUBST:Template:Sniperteam82308}} 19:46, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
Watchmen was a great comic. In my opinion one of the last great comics. The movie based on it was alright though.{{SUBST:Template:Sniperteam82308}} 19:49, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
Yea I mean I'm not asking for it to be like the Extended edition of Avatar time wise but still they should have added all the parts they cut out. If I remember you are a fan of Downfall parodies right?{{SUBST:Template:Sniperteam82308}} 19:53, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
Ahhh well I found a really funny one yesterday. Its between Hitler and the Sargent from Noveria in Fallout 2.{{SUBST:Template:Sniperteam82308}} 19:56, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
Here you go its my favorite because well A its a Downfall parody and 2 because it has one of the funniest Fallout characters ever.{{SUBST:Template:Sniperteam82308}} 20:00, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
Yep. Lets just pray for the Sargent's life that Hitler doesn't have console commands.:P{{SUBST:Template:Sniperteam82308}} 20:06, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
So you think someone should ask him? -- 22:10, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
You're right, this is getting worse and worse. Gob has contacted jspoelstra, hopefully he'll have some insight into the situation and if he's uncertain then maybe IP's can be checked courtesy of Ausir. -- 22:18, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
Striking the vote through is irrelevant, as "The final decision will be up to the bureaucrat(s) after the community has had its say." This is regardless of the votes, they only exists to give an idea of the community consensus in the decision process for the bureaucrats. 23:07, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, but that is a completely different issue than what is being raised here. In such cases as yours, CheckUser would most likely be used and I would strongly suggest contacting Wikia about it via Special:Contact for such a request. 23:24, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
I've done it myself and no, it's not the same IP. Ausir(talk) 23:39, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
Despite the fact that Avatar has cleared up and archived the discussion page for Heist of the Centuries, is there a specific reason you undid the revision that moved the discussion on top of the page to its own separate subtopic? Unless it's painfully obvious, "Uh no" as a summary does not generally work well. Clean Up 16:30, May 15, 2011 (UTC)
Well if that's the case then instead of just undoing the revision and leaving the page in that state (and then following that up with a condescending edit summary that doesn't state your reasoning), state your problem and have me archive the page instead. I'm not the most active admin, but if it's alright with you I'd rather not get that kind of attitude. Clean Up 21:22, May 15, 2011 (UTC)
Yes yes, you're clearly WAY too cool to be lectured. My sincerest apologies. Clean Up 01:24, May 16,
Hey back. :) I haven't been doing anything on the CoD wiki for months because I don't care about CoD anymore. The last CoD-related ting I've done was to go on an achievement run for Black Ops a week ago, and that was a few months of not playing a CoD game period. I think the CoD wiki has gotten too bureaucratic, static and social for me. Most of the stuff going on there is minor grammar edits, whining about admins being dicks, voting to do the most trivial changes to the wiki, and flamewars over political shit in blogs. I've "migrated" over to a non-Wikia wiki that has the laid-back feel that I've been wishing the CoD wiki would adopt again. The wiki is http://tcrf.net/The_Cutting_Room_Floor, if you're interested. Plus, I hate the "new" Wikia layout. :P Darkman 4 01:29, May 25, 2011 (UTC)
Good to see that I'm not alone. At least they're trying to get rid of those worthless PMG images, which is a start. Now they need to get rid of the weepy community and making sure every Dick and Harry approves of a change before they do it.
I haven't been editing on Wikia for months, but I am trying to do a comeback. I have a lot of stuff from the Van Buren tech demo that need to have pages here and have someone here edit some Van Buren model images I took a while back. I also have some reforms for the Duke Nukem Wiki, but I'll get my stuff posted here first as a warm-up. Darkman 4 01:40, May 25, 2011 (UTC)
Never heard of them, sorry. :( Darkman 4 01:47, May 25, 2011 (UTC)
I'm risking to look like a slowpoke but after a year of your presence on The Vault I finally noticed a Tryzub on your avatar. :) Good to see a fellow countryman here. Have a nice day. veryblackravenTalk 12:34, May 30, 2011 (UTC)
I'm sorry, man, I've just realized I've posted my reply under the wrong headline. In any case, feel free to leave a message on my page or add me to friends on there (if you're active, that is) :) --YakovFrolov 12:45, May 31, 2011 (UTC)
I think you better keep quiet about me, or another admin, deleting some of your blog-comments. The last one was a violation of the common rules of decency. Jspoel 20:24, May 31, 2011 (UTC)
I like to keep things here. When you come back from your ban, you can take it up with me or a bureaucrat if you want.
So you're going to ban me without any reason. I've "insulted" no one. And there's no way in hell that I'd ever want any form of communication with a single one of the admin team on this wiki by this point. My first block was justified, and I can accept that; this is nothing but an abuse of power.
What's your PSN ID? Just wandering. Charcoal121 00:50, November 6, 2011 (UTC)
If you are not associated with Besthesda, you should be! Stop by Hunt Valley, Maryland at the Besthesda Studios HQ! I did and you should too. You won't regret it! They are looking for staff!--Fallout koloup 02:26, January 4, 2012 (UTC)Koloup
You make a fair points, but I wouldn't go about removing the information from the article altogether (with the exception of the speculation, that is). I'd prefer if you reworded it to minimise confusion; I'd do if I had time x.x - Hugs "Say 'ello to my little friend!"
Just re-wrote it myself seeing how terribly written that section was. Feel free to add on or modify what I changed for readability. Skål! 15:35, March 29, 2012 (UTC)
