Oh, okay. Thank you for the reply. Figured what I posted was just a work around to a bug. What's the difference between a walkthrough and a strategy for future reference in case something's come across that isn't on the wikia?

I've come across an actual bug a bit back with Old World Blues when all DLC (besides Gun Runners' and Courier Stash) is installed on the Xbox 360. Didn't post it under bugs, instead mentioned it in the talk section but last checked there were no replies to confirm it. Here's the post if you care to see: 1. Should I post that in the bugs section of OWB or...? The most I've ever done with wikia's besides reading them was 3 or 4 edits on Skyrim's wikia, lol, so apologies if I'm bothering you. --StankyLefthand 09:39, March 10, 2012 (UTC)

Gigalag Edit

Sorry I had to ban you due to your notorious lag demonstrations. You know the drill :) -ΣΔLet's talk! 23:13, March 18, 2012 (UTC)

I know what you mean. But at the end it still isn't cited, and as the forum speculation discussion said, we could reword things as to not be speculative and thus still stay on the article. Not to mention if the reference is that obvious, we shouldn't have to directly indicate it. -ΣΔLet's talk! 00:36, March 19, 2012 (UTC)

Did you see The Gunny's message to that anon right above yours? It seems like he took that line right from him, applying to pages like a bot. -ΣΔLet's talk! 00:41, March 19, 2012 (UTC)
Knowing that, I think he deserves a fair warning to stop. Perhaps you'd reconsider the ban? I'm going to leave it up to you though. -ΣΔLet's talk! 00:44, March 19, 2012 (UTC)
Obviously, the user had some difficulty understanding "blatantly obvious" and the fact that anything that's already on the page has stood the test of time and should be considered "approved". Sorry for starting him on his bot run. The Gunny 380px-USMC-E7 svg 02:38, March 19, 2012 (UTC)

An angry contributorEdit

Seriously, how much do you thing before reverting one's contributions ?

I mean, you reverted MY WORK without asking nor giving reasons in the summary... I have added correct information that I'm currently gathering by actually PLAYING fallout 2 at the same time. On the top of that, I'm using a 3G connection and it takes me a bloody while to load pages and submit them.

I bet you didn't even READ what I wrote. Start fallout, do what I've written, and accept that you too can screw up.

Yes I'm upset and yes you should feel (and be) sorry. Seriously, dude... - 22:39, March 24, 2012 (UTC)

Remembering the old daysEdit

Amen (think that says enough). I miss 'em too. What happened to the days when things were simple and without all this bickering? Don't know if we can reverse it, maybe the conference helps. "Talk Page" DiscrepancyEdit

But the "talk Page" is connected to MY profile, which makes it MINE. I should be allowed to delete whatever I want to delete if it is connected to my account/profile. I don't care if the rest of the community wants to use talk pages- they shouldn't use MY talk page without MY permission. So, if someone puts up something that I just don't want up there- I should be able to take it down. CynestSadista 07:18, March 28, 2012 (UTC)

Understood, but let me be clear- Deleting a smudge that was put on your technical property doesn't necessarily mean you are hiding anything. A smudge can be a patch of dirt or grease- why would anyone want dirt or grease on their things? Cutting off involvement in dirty, unpleasant things shouldn't be looked down on- and accusing others of acting like a delinquent when you don't even know them; unprofessional considering your position.

Either way, I'm down with this redundant "argument". Don't expect edits, comments or responses from me. CynestSadista 07:30, March 28, 2012 (UTC)

Fallout 1 and 2 Quotations Project. Edit

Hi, Ryan! Good to have you working with us on the FO 1&2 Quotations Project. Welcome aboard!
I don't know if you have edited any quotes so far, but don't forget to take a look at the guidelines and scope, so that we can keep homogeneity in the articles. Also, when you edit/add quotes on a certain page, remember to sign the progress table. If the page already contains a quotation, and you've checked it, tick the column "checked for quote"; if it doesn't, and you'll add one to it, tick the second area. All categories and pages within the scope of the project are there. That way, it's much easier for us to know if you've already edited that page so we don't have to substitute any quotes anymore. I'm sure that you, as an experienced contributor (much more than me), already know that; but it's never too much to notice those things. ;-)
Other than that, just write on my talk page if you want to clarify anything. Cheers!

Very nice looking additions to the template! I'll add it in just a second. As for your pay, check out the Patron's Lounge when you get the chance. ;) Dragon Skål! 02:23, April 6, 2012 (UTC)
One concern though... are you sure you want to use the patron image that you're currently using? The whole idea of the vacuum tubes and speakers to the sides of the image was to fill in the unoccupied space and so it would represent the talking heads in F1/F2. Your image doesn't really take either into consideration, and so it looks a tad sloppy when compared to the others. I'll keep the image if you'd like, as patrons have complete freedom, but I felt like I should bring that concern to your attention. Dragon Skål! 02:47, April 6, 2012 (UTC)

I'd feel downright ridiculous returning now. It's not the first time I've left. Except this time I'm somewhat ashamed to come back. After all the crap I've caused recently. Even in Cartman's forum, I promised myself I wouldn't reply, but I still did. I just couldn't help myself. Honestly, I feel like I'm more trouble than I'm worth. And despite there being plenty of people who want to see me back, I get the feeling that there's just as many people who'd never want to see me back again. And some people that I'd never want to face again. To top it all off, Cartman was under the impression that I left to play the sympathy card when I returned, so that everyone will "celebrate" when I come back, as he put it. As petty as it seems, I don't want him to think that was the case. Sorry, Ryan. 06:57, April 11, 2012 (UTC)

Vote Edit

I understand what you mean. :) Not trying to censor anyone or anything. Let me list my reasons for what I did, and please correct me if I'm wrong on any of my points:

 • AFollower has only recently started editing again.
 • I have never seen him in chat lately, and I have been in chat quite a lot lately with the exception of the past couple days.
 • He noted that the only reason he was voting no is because he doesn't know him. It would make more sense if he personally took a little time out to get to know DB, instead of putting down a baseless vote that has a chance of compromising what should be a fair vote.

Let me know what you think! Dragon Skål! 03:25, May 8, 2012 (UTC)

Well, thanks for taking what I said into consideration. I'll leave it in your hands from now on. Just trying to keep the vote fair, is all. Dragon Skål! 03:30, May 8, 2012 (UTC)

Haha, I'm surprised I didn't see any votes like that on my Administrator request. I was kind of expecting them at the time. O: I think my favorite is Shurrenders vote on Jspoel's b'crat request. Dragon Skål! 03:33, May 8, 2012 (UTC)

Facts mean everything in a world where people see truths from nothing. Writing one's opinion as fact is ignorance, and has no place on a wiki. I know that sounds a little mean, but there's a reason we're one of the top Wikia wikis. :) I want us to stay that way, with the best content around. Soiling our image with speculation will do us no good in the end. Sure, a little might not hurt. But you have to remember that speculation adds up, and can still be found on hundreds of our article pages. That's why I have such a problem with it. Dragon Skål! 22:01, May 24, 2012 (UTC)

I know you are only speaking of this specific speculation. That's looking at a rather small picture though, and I'd rather look at the grand scheme of things instead of focusing only on the trivial matters that make up the big picture. Anyways! I am fine with it staying now. Clyde says that he has some sort of official confirmation that was given to Ausir, and that works with me. I'll see what Sawyer has to say on the matter and then we can consider the case to be closed. :) Dragon Skål! 22:08, May 24, 2012 (UTC)

Notable Loot Edit

We cannot pick and choose when to follow the policies. In this case, I would disagree with you anyhow. Loot in the building you start the game in? If you don't pick these items up before you leave, then you're hopeless. :') Dragon Skål! 00:19, June 5, 2012 (UTC)

No need to get aggressive. We have rules for a reason, and the ones in place now are sound. Once we become lax on our rules, chaos will ensue, and this wiki's integrity will be brought into question. So please don't get snippy with me just because I won't allow a laser pistol or a skill magazine as notable loot. I am merely doing my job, following the rules that the community created and agreed upon, as should you. Dragon Skål! 00:51, June 5, 2012 (UTC)
Please stop being melodramatic. Our notable loot policies have not changed once (Except for adding in a New Vegas section) since the old b'crats added it in. As for your other comments, your mind must be playing tricks on you. Maybe you're only remembering the fond ol' memories, but anons have always been double-checked, (For good reason.) and we've always had a healthy dose of removing and adding content. Do you not know what a wiki is? It's a source of information constantly being modified by any and all people. When there is no such thing as discrimination, there is going to be content that needs to be removed or added upon. This has been the way it works since the beginning of the Wiki ideal. It's especially prominent here when we have over 15k pages. Hundreds, if not thousands of pages here need severe cleaning up as well; especially the VB and Tactics pages. So no, you are not forced to remove content. There are plenty of pages that need working on. If you can't find them, you're just not looking hard enough. Hell, just yesterday (Or the day before yesterday.) I added onto and re-wrote a couple dozen pages in just half an hour. Wasn't that hard at all. Dragon Skål! 01:08, June 5, 2012 (UTC)
Would you care to elaborate? I have never broken a rule once when concerning bans. You must be mistaking policies with guidelines. And guidelines are just that: Guidelines, which are up to interpretation. And no, I am not the only one who is strict on the subject. Want me to use a perfect example? Our old Bureaucrat, Gothemasticator. Before I was even a user here, he was the primary spearheader in removing speculation and non-notable loot. He was actually the reason why I became so familiar with those two particular subjects in the first place. Limmie follows the same principles fairly strictly as well, as do other editors who's attentions have been brought to our policies. So please, don't use a baseless blanket statement like that to attack me. I'm done though. I don't know if you're having a bad day, but I am not going to sever any ties today over a handful of crap loot such as a laser pistol or stimpacks. I will talk with Jspoel about being a mediator, and we will rectify this situation. I have already talked with him anyways about listing all fixed magazine locations in Goodsprings on the overall Goodsprings page itself. I hope this is to your satisfaction. Dragon Skål! 01:23, June 5, 2012 (UTC)
 • I have also never broken the policies on protecting pages... Nowhere in the policies does it state that I can't protect a page indefinitely until a further consensus is reached at a future date. It actually reinforces my point by actually stating a sysop can do so as long as they have a good reason; which I did. Dragon Skål! 01:27, June 5, 2012 (UTC)
I'm glad to hear that. I never hold grudges, but I can never tell if other people will. Now, here's why I used those examples: "You seem to be the only one leading this boat towards the seas of no notable loot." This was an absolute fabrication that needed addressing. Please don't use a strawman argument to divert attention away from what you originally stated. As for the rest, I am sorry you aren't satisfied by it. But Jspoel is the only b'crat on right now, and he has a thorough understanding of policies. If you're not satisfied by his judgment, then I don't know what to tell you. And the laser pistol and doctor's bag are actually right in front of you. The doctor's bag is right next to where you regain conscious. The laser pistol in on a shelf that you have to pass as Doc Mitchel gives you a detour of his house to his couch. As for this: "If something isn't broke, don't fix it." I could say the same to you. Our current policies aren't broke. They don't need fixing, and they need to be followed. Dragon Skål! 01:37, June 5, 2012 (UTC)

(You know, I really hate to stick my nose into other people's conversations. I really, really hate that. But I feel I need to clarify something: There is no notable loot policy. The notable loot list is a linked page in the Fallout Wiki:Article layout guideline/Location article guideline. It is a referenced help page linked from a guideline. It is not a "policy" like the Admin policy. Just needed to make that clear. The Gunny 380px-USMC-E7 svg 01:43, June 5, 2012 (UTC)

These lists are policy. If you need confirmation, you can read through the forum discussion leading up to this help page's creation. Dragon Skål! 01:47, June 5, 2012 (UTC)
I don't see the word policy anywhere on that page, nor on the page that links to it. I disagree. They are under the remit of guidelines. The Gunny 380px-USMC-E7 svg 01:49, June 5, 2012 (UTC)
I'm not going to argue about the policy concern. This has been treated as a policy since its creation, and was agreed upon as a policy by our former b'crats. If need be, I can seek confirmation on The Vault, as they follow the same mirror policy over there as well. However, I do agree we need to move it into the actual policies section. It is both confusing and difficult to find the notable loot page through the Help section. It's been long due I think to have moved that. Dragon Skål! 01:56, June 5, 2012 (UTC)
I'm glad you agree this is not a policy. Since policies need to be voted on and what not. The Gunny 380px-USMC-E7 svg 02:03, June 5, 2012 (UTC)

Closure Edit

Well, I'm sorry if I upset you. I still believe policies need to be followed, but I have thought of another alternative that you would more or likely be interested in. I'll talk it over with you next time you're available. Dragon Skål! 02:41, June 5, 2012 (UTC)

Notable somethingEdit

I'm on your side remember ? :) It still hurts to have seen the magazines removed. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 06:24, June 5, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, my thoughts too. I am indeed one for the addition of content, hardly remove anything, which I leave mostly to others. I read your post to Leon, and I can understand what you said and it was good that you did I think. There are moments you have to tell how you feel, then you'll have it of your chest and can move on again. I'll take a look later today at that request Leon sent me to see if we can get some clarity on the notable loot. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 06:35, June 5, 2012 (UTC)

NUN Edit

Hi Ry, thanks for your work with the NUN so far. I've done the first of what I hope will be eventually many mentor updates on the project talk I'd appreciate any insights you may have. Agent c 21:51, June 6, 2012 (UTC)

Blocking Edit

Hey, may I ask why you blocked

 • (talk · contribs)? I know he broke policy by inserting too many quotes, but that doesn't seem really block-worthy and it doesn't seem like "Inserting false information" either, at least to me. I'm just curious. Paladin117>>iff bored; 01:38, June 8, 2012 (UTC)
You might be right about the silly thing, but she did say something at least close to that, during the minefield part of the Wasteland Survival Guide quest. I definitely remember her calling the mines potatoes.

Marie Edit

I'm afraid that information actually is false. As you can see here, eating Marie is an option only introduced with a second-party mod. Dragon Skål! 02:18, June 8, 2012 (UTC)

I agree. The perk wasn't worth it at all. That information was added quite awhile ago, multiple time, and so I tested it out myself. Didn't work for me, so after doing some searching, I had came across that mod. It's a good thing I kept the link after all this time. xD Dragon Skål! 02:22, June 8, 2012 (UTC)

Zizi Edit

I only gave him a 2 hour ban to stop him from editing. I have a feeling he's a troll. Anyways, I don't want to butt into your area. Feel free to change my ban to something more appropriate if you wish. Dragon Skål! 19:26, June 10, 2012 (UTC)

That's what I was thinking too, but those numbers he added has me concerned. Hopefully they'll answer back. Dragon Skål! 19:30, June 10, 2012 (UTC)

Chat Edit

Hi Ryan. I went out for dinner, but I wish to talk about something with you now. Could you come back into chat? --Skire (talk) 23:41, June 10, 2012 (UTC)

Image templates Edit

Hi, Ryan. Remember we're using Image needed with parameters for their appropriate games now, instead of the classic Image. For example, an image-needed on VB would be VB, for FO3 FO3 and so forth. This categorises the pages separately while only using one template. --Skire (talk) 18:40, June 11, 2012 (UTC)

The same goes for Section, Infobox incomplete, and Stub =) --Skire (talk) 18:44, June 11, 2012 (UTC)

Big SalEdit

I knew that. I wanted to change it from Big Sal's to Big Sal's but made a typo. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 18:43, June 11, 2012 (UTC)

Re:Holorifle Edit

Obviousness is subjective. And the way it was worded (using "likely") was speculative. And if it's so obvious why would we need to note it? You are welcome to find a mediator (maybe J, he's on right now) for this. And as for bullet points, it was already discussed and now they are being removed when there is only one note/item. Bullet points are for lists, and when there is no list, there should be no bullet point. You can find this discussion on my talk page as well as Leon's. Saying it's common practice is but an argumentum ad antiquitatem. --Skire (talk) 19:04, June 11, 2012 (UTC)

We'll see what J has to say then. And why follow a standard for it's practically incorrect? =) --Skire (talk) 19:18, June 11, 2012 (UTC)
You can start with P going up towards Z on the notable loot. Check Danny's page to see what I have to say about it. Be careful removing stuff. If you have doubts, better leave it I think. Or ask me. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 20:36, June 11, 2012 (UTC)
Skill books are notable, don't remove them. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 20:46, June 11, 2012 (UTC)
Come on. You removed another skill book on the radio tower. Be careful. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 21:04, June 11, 2012 (UTC)

( 6 pulse grenades in one location, with a key near to it is notable in my opinion.

Just checked, but actually there are just 2 fixed metal armors in FO3. I added that one back. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 21:18, June 11, 2012 (UTC)

I know. I had a little time available by coincidence and couldn't resist. What you're still doing up? American teenagers should be in bed by now, shouldn't they? Jspoel Speech Jspoel 06:35, June 15, 2012 (UTC)

Hey I'm sorry I just died while playing Fallout and I got angry.........I didn't mean to disrupt chat like that, sorry.

Elijah and OWB Edit

Elijah was originally excluded from that list specifically because he had no literal appearance or speaking part, unlike Christine and Ulysses. UserGreatMaraMessage 08:49, June 15, 2012 (UTC)

All I've ever found is written notes and text terminal entries. Unless there's something from him besides Little Yangzte, Signal Hill's Transmitter and Elijah's Watch. UserGreatMaraMessage 08:55, June 15, 2012 (UTC)

When you edit as much as I do, you're that confident here that not much can affect you. I read it and put it aside. Try it maybe...? Jspoel Speech Jspoel 23:09, June 18, 2012 (UTC)

Yo, Ry. this guy's been spamming my weekly Poll with some vulgar comments, and he left a "bump" comment on Chad's news blog. Mind deleting his contributions and giving him a ban? Thanks man Yes Man defaultUser Avatar talk 07:18, June 22, 2012 (UTC)

Oh, yeah! I forgot that you bold it only the first time it appears in the article, sorry!Iowasteland 06:37, June 23, 2012 (UTC)

that last one i dont uderstand why you deleted it it was the most realistic truth

Re:Gibson House Edit

Hey TwoBearsHigh-Fiving/Archive 5, sorry for that edit. I didn't notice that it was already included in the layout section. Whereas those items by themselves are not of particular notability, their location inside such a unique container with a Very Hard lock made them worthy of note in my opinion. However, they do belong better in a separate section indeed, so thanks. See you around! =) 瘸腿的刺猬 -->FunButton 01:47, June 24, 2012 (UTC)

I think I also need to learn from this: part of the reason I reverted was on the basis that it was random loot, but actually it turns out that it's not random and the edit in question was correct. Oops! I should check first before making assumptions... --Christine 08:08, June 24, 2012 (UTC)

Something is Fishy over here Edit

Thanks for fixing up the bugs section, I completely glossed over it. Bad habit of mine, I suppose. Probably stems from the fact that I've learned to hate checking through the bugs section on most pages. xD Dragon Leon Skål! 22:08, June 24, 2012 (UTC)

No kidding. It surprises me how many of the anonymous come on here to make just one edit, usually in the bugs section on some random page. Dragon Leon Skål! 22:11, June 24, 2012 (UTC)

Moose Mk.II Edit

Still interested in becoming a karaoke patron at the Moose? I'll be releasing a new edition soon, and the only real thing lacking are the patrons. (Most are either gone now, or are on a current indefinite hiatus.) Dragon Leon Skål! 22:59, June 24, 2012 (UTC)

Having fun is really all that matters. :) I feel so bad a lot of times - not updating the Moose - because I see so many people stressed out around here lately. We were doing good with extra content for awhile, but now we've been reduced to just the polls. (The polls are great, of course. :) Don't take this in a bad way Yessie!.) Dragon Leon Skål! 23:07, June 24, 2012 (UTC)
I almost forgot about the Divide. :P Don't hurt me Toci! Yeah, I'll be throwing up a forum soon, with a detailed walk-through on how I typically update everything for those who aren't so familiar with the templates. I really hope someone can take it over though. And I really hope someone can take the Moose further than I ever have so far. :) Dragon Leon Skål! 23:12, June 24, 2012 (UTC)

I'm not sure why you'd feel offended about that. Whereas I believe in proper grammar and English conventions, especially on an encyclopaedia-esque wiki like this, I don't think this site's capitalisation should be as prevalent as it is. Things like "jet", "deathclaw", and "yao guai" are de-capped - really? And if we really follow in-game capitalisation then why are most FNV locations de-capped contrary to in-game map capitalisation? It goes down to this - it doesn't make much sense; it is counter-intuitive. And that is why I have now decided to not care about it any more. I'll still change things according to policy because that is what I do and for consistency. But yeah, there's my rant - it's nothing personal, and I don't mean to offend. In fact, you're one of my favourite people here! =) --Skire (talk) 00:05, June 25, 2012 (UTC)

Jet is not merely a substance, it is a product, much like Aqua Pura (according to you and Leon). And if you think in-game capitalisations is just for the look, then why do we de-capitalise things while proclaiming we should follow in-game capitalisation (as evidential by the aqua pura capitalisation)? Also, please remind me where I "=put gray on it for those who do". Oh, and thanks for being condescending, although I have made every effort to keep this in an amicable tone. --Skire (talk) 00:20, June 25, 2012 (UTC)
