I'm not the one picking a fight on the internets. I was simply making a correction to your asthetic error, I'm off to do other things now, enjoy wasting your time on a Wiki. That sounds like a grand time. Stop posting messages on my page unless you'd like to have an Ego war on an instant messenger.User:Kastrenzo

Tips for game XP - but where does it go? Edit

Dug around the site a bit, but did not find any better place to put what I added to the XP Page. Here's what I added (and you removed) - there must be some place to put this:

==Maximizing XP Earned==
One way to get the most points out of your efforts is to combine things like computer-locked and pickable safes. If you can do both, first hack the computer but do not unlock the safe from the terminal. Next, pick the safe and open it. You will get XP for both, doubling the points available at such locations. Opening the safe from the terminal will removing the picking opportunity and with it, the extra free XP.

I see the bugs sections in a lot of locations, etc., but I don't see anywhere else besides the FAQs for something like this. Can you point me to where it could/should be added?

Lockpick bobblehead bug Edit

Your response was rather terse. I'm wondering if it was so because of hostility or simple brevity. -132.183.138.175 04:01, January 26, 2010 (UTC)

Alien power cells @ vapl-84 Edit

Forager Ant Edit

I found the code for the forager ants but don't know how to add it to the ant page. heres the code. 00032909.JerichoRCDF 14:51, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the quick work. If you need help finding anything in the geck, let me know. I'm always happy to help.

Magnetic Tape Drive Edit

Why did you delete it? Ausir(talk) 02:24, January 28, 2010 (UTC)

Birthday party and tarot are not world objects. We don't delete world object articles. And the article actually mentions differences from real-world ones. Besides, it's a piece of retrofuturistic technology. And we already had a talk about this before you became an admin. Ausir(talk) 02:29, January 28, 2010 (UTC)

Age Edit

You let it slip during the bad old wolf days once.--Gothemasticator 00:30, January 29, 2010 (UTC)

Character Summary? Edit

Hey Nitty, I need some help. I want to make my page like the Fallout 3 character table things, but I don't know how to make them, can you please help? Only at your own convinence, I don't want to bother you. Megaton Mettaur 00:36, January 29, 2010 (UTC)

same here. I got some great picks of jericho in chase's overcoat with the winterized combat helmet. JerichoRCDF 05:59, January 29, 2010 (UTC)

Userbox images? Edit

How do I make userboxes have images? I haven't had any luck making a userboxe have a image. Try to respond soon...CheezeWEEPツ 19:33, January 30, 2010 (UTC)

Background Edit

The background was Lost Hills from Fallout 1, added by Grizzly. I don't think it's appropriate for Fallout 3 images. Ausir(talk) 01:30, January 31, 2010 (UTC)

Fallout 2 quests Edit

On Fallout 2 quests, maybe it'd be better to make multiple "sub-columns" for "Rewards" to improve clarity? I.e. make columns like "alternative 1", "alternative 2" and "alternative 3" instead of the whole AND and OR thingies :) There's plenty of horizontal space left, and it'd make the tables more compact and clearer in my opinion. -- Porter21 (talk) 14:58, January 31, 2010 (UTC)

I've changed the Arroyo table layout - all you need to do is copy the new table header (i.e. the two rows with "!") and add two new cells to each row :) -- Porter21 (talk) 15:10, January 31, 2010 (UTC)

Rollback Edit

I was thinking about getting the rollback privileges before, so now with your encouragement, maybe I'll ask one of them about it.

Thanks ----Annonnimus 18:58, January 31, 2010 (UTC)

Dog BowlEdit

Possibly the post useless message you'll recieve on your talk page. Although for the good of all Dog Bowl enthsiasts, are we certain Moira Brown always stocks this? StarfishCostume 22:44, February 3, 2010 (UTC)

Yea, she does. CheezeWEEPツ 22:46, February 3, 2010 (UTC)

Bowditch Edit

The name is an interesting historical allusion, I added it to the notes section because it is an interesting note that enriches the connections between the Fallout series and American history. Why do you have a problem with it?

User Page Edit

It's the bee's Knees, could you help me improve mine? Any help would be apreciated.Pittsburgh Phil 23:17, February 3, 2010 (UTC)

Partnership with Rap Wikia Edit

NPC project Edit

Hey, Nitty! Could I talk you into doing peer reviews and completeness checks for the G-L progress table on the NPC project page? See the talk page for my recent progress update.--Gothemasticator 19:55, February 6, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks! And your table is cool. Very helpful for the FO2 pages.--Gothemasticator 19:59, February 6, 2010 (UTC)
Re: problems
I'm not too concerned that every possible bit of info be included. This is a wiki after all, and info will be added over time. What I'm concerned about is that infoboxes exist and the most important fields are filled in correctly. See Project Pate: Infobox section. Let me lay out what is most important::::*Infoboxes exist, important entries correct, image of satisfactory quality.:::*Layout: sections correctly titled and in correct order.:::*Notes and Bugs sections kept to a minimum and only pertaining to the NPC. Your recent Gallo edits were right on the mark.:::*Categories correct.:::*Inventory box exists and filled in correctly, i.e. no fingers or ears listed, empty fields filled with "-".
And that's pretty much it. As I said, I'm not going to hold up progress over an empty field (actor) that can be filled in over time. Thanks again!--Gothemasticator 20:59, February 6, 2010 (UTC)

By the way, where the hell is Spoon?!--Gothemasticator 21:00, February 6, 2010 (UTC)

I may just not be understanding you, but what do you mean by "covered by empty fields?"--Gothemasticator 21:03, February 6, 2010 (UTC)
And you think it should say what?--Gothemasticator 21:06, February 6, 2010 (UTC)
So, I see. You'd like the actor field to read "actor=" instead of "actor=empty" so that the field stays visible. Great. I concur. Follow-up question: Why are you replacing "quest=none" to "quest=empty" ? That an NPC is involved in no quests is actually info. I think it should be left as "none."--Gothemasticator 21:11, February 6, 2010 (UTC)

Good. This has been helpful. I'll go back through A-L and check infoboxes, specifically looking at actor, alignment, and quest fields. Please leave quest set to "none" though. I think that's valid info.

It's good to have some interaction on this project. Thanks.--Gothemasticator 21:15, February 6, 2010 (UTC)

I screwed up the formatting, so I was trying to fix it. However, I'm distracted right now, so I keep not actually helping things. Bah! You got my point.--Gothemasticator 21:18, February 6, 2010 (UTC)
Hey, project participant, no cracking the whip at your fearless leader!--Gothemasticator 21:22, February 6, 2010 (UTC)
Laundry, dinner, other real-life concerns call. I'll see you in the middle of the night when all is quiet.--Gothemasticator 21:23, February 6, 2010 (UTC)

Mutant geckos Edit

Mutant geckos are seen in the PC Gamer magazine and are clearly in Fallout: New Vegas but I am not sure whether I should start a new page called Mutant geckos or add it as one of the games that has geckos, but there is no page called Mutant gecko so should I start a new page? I know it sounds like a dumb question, but it's confusing me... Insane! 01:22, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

Ordering Edit

Between FO3 and FOT. Ausir(talk) 03:54, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

Varmint Edit

The template probably doesn't respond kindly to some field or field being empty. Porter will need to fix it, though. Ausir(talk) 04:48, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

Super sledge Edit

I wouldn't redirect the FNV ones to FO3 pages. From what I've been told, despite the same appearance, pretty much all weapon stats have been tweaked, so we'll need to have separate pages for them. Ausir(talk) 16:04, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

We talked about not redirecting them until there is FNV info. Now that there is, it's best to make separate pages for FNV. As for "Firearms", were the skill names confirmed anywhere? Where? Ausir(talk) 16:08, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

Fallout 1 Character Images Edit

Has just purchased FO1, FO2 and FOT, and will get to work updating the images. What I want to know is, is it preferred to have the close-up dialouge image, or a cropped image of them standing their. If that makes any sence, please lemme know. StarfishCostume 18:20, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

Seth - I tried adding the image but have text surrounding it, why is this? Sorry to bug ya again, thanks. StarfishCostume 23:01, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

OK, now its just got smaller, I'm going to attack it, StarfishCostume 23:03, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

Create article for New Vegas Edit

Seems like you found the relevant templates already ;) -- Porter21 (talk) 18:27, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

The skills Edit

ok, I was just making an guess on what they would be based on what they do as how they where described in the PC gamer article. Shadowrunner56 18:27, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

AlsoEdit

With the State of Utobitha page you got rid of the Vault 87 super mutants from the divisions section when they where confirmed in the article that they where going to be in New Vegas. Shadowrunner56 18:36, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

Here's the article. Shadowrunner56 18:47, February 7, 2010 (UTC)
Whoops, sorry wrong one, Here's the right one, it's in the first column, also sorry for the quality of the scans. Shadowrunner56 18:56, February 7, 2010 (UTC)
The article does not say anything about Vault 87 mutants being in Vegas. There are ones like look like them in the screenshots, but it likely says more about them working under time constraints and reusing FO3 models for Mariposa mutants than anyting else. Ausir(talk) 03:50, February 9, 2010 (UTC)

I screwed up... Edit

Like this. "name" always needs to be the name of the template (without the "Template:" prefix). -- Porter21 (talk) 18:54, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

Chucky article Edit

-Before- you blow them up? Edit

Ok, because what this line was telling me was that it was a reward for finishing the questline, which is obviously not the case. A simple edit.

But yea, in the future, that's how I'll do it, via talk page. For some reason I've seen it done several times on this Wiki in the past, but that was a good year or two ago, so I guess it no longer applies.

Fair enough. :)

Metal Blaster can be repaired with the Wazer Wifle Edit

My son and I discovered this and updated the Metal Blaster page to reflect the fact (that the Metal Blaster can be repaired with the Wazer Wifle), yet "Nitpicker of the wastes" undid the change. I'm not sure why, but the page is deficient without this edit.

Beretta Silverhawk Edit

In-game names should be used for item articles. In case of the FOT shotgun, the in-game name is Beretta 470 Silverhawk, not "Shotgun". Ausir(talk) 03:26, February 13, 2010 (UTC)

RE: Pagename Edit

So, the PAGENAME template is only used on articles like Power armor? Got it. Mmm, Crispy... 20:48, February 13, 2010 (UTC)

Addictions for regular foods in F3... Edit

Well, technically it's not a problem - however, I think in this case "no addiction" is a valuable information in itself (which is left ambiguous if the field isn't shown at all). -- Porter21 (talk) 02:40, February 15, 2010 (UTC)

Drugs are consumables as well, so whether something is addictive or not concerns the whole group in my opinion. Simply put, "addiction: none" is valuable info when looking at an ingestible - if it's not given, people are left wondering whether or not it's addictive. -- Porter21 (talk) 02:57, February 15, 2010 (UTC)
Sure, I've added it. -- Porter21 (talk) 21:59, February 15, 2010 (UTC)

Pip Boy Edit

That is correct. If the Fallout: New Vegas Pip Boy is different than any of the previous ones featured in the games, the article Pip-Boy 3000 will have to be changed, or a completely new article about the device will have to be created. But until then I see no precedent to keep misleading gameplay links when describing each model.

For example, the Pip Boy 2000 section has 3 different links: Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics, leading to its same main article. Why keep them if 1) These links already are in the small table on the right in the beginning of the the article page 2) A reader may be misguided these links lead to the game articles or their gameplay sections, and not to the main device pages, which would elaborate the info of a particular device a reader would want to read more about. 3) That's what the "Appearance" section in the end is for after all, to list the instances where and which Pip Boys appeared.

I believe my version is simply clearer. ;) --TheBearPaw 15:29, February 15, 2010 (UTC)

Insults Edit

Yeah, I know you've got it. I just wanted the guy to have policy clearly stated to him. It's always good to state the rule clearly before acting on it. Helps establish just cause. You take it from here.

Also, yeah, I wish I had been around earlier. I wouldn't have put up with Wolf, but by the time I even caught on to what was happening, he was gone.--Gothemasticator 23:12, February 15, 2010 (UTC)

Ammo types Edit

If you want to start one, why not. On the other hand, isn't it a bit pointless to have separate pages for ammo types that apply only to one ammo caliber anyway? Ausir(talk) 01:31, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

Ah, wait, I see what you mean now. I don't see a point in making a page like that, actually. E.g. on the 4.7mm caseless page, I'd just omit the "type" field altogether. Ausir(talk) 01:35, February 17, 2010 (UTC)
I don't see the point in listing any "types" that don't apply to more than one caliber any more than in applying "type" to Fallout 3 ammo. All kinds of ammo are listed on e.g. Fallout 2 ammunition anyway. Ausir(talk) 01:40, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

Lenny Edit

Lenny the ghoul should be moved back to Lenny, and the super mutant just linked to using {{For}}, like before. Like with Marcus, one character is much more notable than the other here, so he should be under the main article name. Ausir(talk) 03:34, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

Kay Edit

But I haven't edited any karma alignments in the past day. Is this about something I did yesterday or something? Shadowrunner56 23:42, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

No, all I did on that page was bold her name and add what she appeared in. It was probably like that before I edited it, and didn't notice it. Shadowrunner56 23:46, February 17, 2010 (UTC)
ARGH! (shakes fist with anger) Shadowrunner56 23:49, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

Kay, I saw the supersledge page using the png file and thought the regular sledge should probably use it's png file too.

Scans Edit

The magazines are released already, and no, they don't want any scans to be available online at all. Only when they release the screenshots on their website. Ausir(talk) 15:08, February 18, 2010 (UTC)

Well, while we are not to explicitly upload scans to the wiki, I also won't be deleting links to the scans as hosted elsewhere unless specifically told to, nor telling people not to post them. Ausir(talk) 21:23, February 18, 2010 (UTC)

Editing/New ArticlesEdit

I'm curious as to what your standards are for editing existing pages/creating new ones. I've been making some new Van Buren pages, but it seems no one likes the edits I'm making on existing articles. Advice? Ghouly89 07:15, February 19, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for blocking this guy. But it appears that he's also using this IP adress 74.97.24.225,.

GOTY guide Edit

Any interesting new background info (especially about the add-ons)? Ausir(talk) 00:14, February 21, 2010 (UTC)
Also, we could use the official names of add-on unmarked quests. Ausir(talk) 00:14, February 21, 2010 (UTC)
Yes, we treat things from the guide that do not contradict in-game info as canon. Always remember to <ref> it to the guide, though. Ausir(talk) 00:18, February 21, 2010 (UTC)
There probably isn't much of a chance for you scanning the guide (or just the new portions) for me, is there? :) Ausir(talk) 00:21, February 21, 2010 (UTC)

Do you use any instant messengers by any chance? Ausir(talk) 00:15, February 21, 2010 (UTC)

Not relevant, just asking. Ausir(talk) 00:21, February 21, 2010 (UTC)

Disambigs Edit

See The Vault:Content organization guideline#Disambiguation. Ausir(talk) 14:19, February 21, 2010 (UTC)

(edit conflict) See FW:DISAMBIG. Basically you go down the list, see which is the first method that gives you unambiguous names for all articles which could share this name and use that.
In Jericho's case, there's a character and a town which share this name - so we use the first method ("Jericho (town)" and "Jericho (character)"). If there were another town called Jericho in, say, Fallout 2 the first method would no longer give unambiguous names ("Jericho (town)" could refer to both the FO2 and the VB towns), so the second method would be used ("Jericho (Fallout 2)", "Jericho (Fallout 3)", "Jericho (Van Buren)") - etc. -- Porter21 (talk) 14:23, February 21, 2010 (UTC)
The preferrential treatment of some subjects is not actually covered by the guideline, but I think it should be added. If one character is overwhelmingly more notable than the other, there is no point, in my opinion, to have disambig pages. For example, Marcus (a follower) vs. Marcus (a mentioned-only character) or Agatha (a major questgiver, I just noticed that you moved her and made Agatha a disambig, I'd personally move it back) vs. Agatha (a cut character). In such cases, I'd use {{For}} instead of disambigs. In case of Micky, neither character is much more notable than the other.Ausir(talk) 14:28, February 21, 2010 (UTC)
Van Buren was canceled, but it is well described, the town's design document has lots of info, and it was one of the major places there. It's a borderline case, but I'd say that the town of Jericho is more notable than Agatha (Fallout) (a minor cut character) or Marcus (Broken Steel) (a minor mentioned-only character), so I'd leave it as a normal disambig. Dunno how much sense my explanation makes to you. :) Ausir(talk) 14:33, February 21, 2010 (UTC)
Another thing to consider is whether there are likely to be many links to the article. There aren't ever going to be many links to Agatha (Fallout) and Marcus (Broken Steel) (or any such links other than the ones we already have, for that matter), so them being linked to through {{for}} is rather safe. On the other hand, once all the contents of Van Buren documents is put in articles, there are bound to be many links to Jericho (town), many of which will likely end up being linked just to Jericho. Ausir(talk) 14:39, February 21, 2010 (UTC)

Large Bullet Edit

Well, large bullet and small bulet in FOBOS aren't really any specific caliber, but rather approximations, covering a wide range of calibers. E.g. from .44 for the Desert Eagle to .50. Ausir(talk) 19:30, February 21, 2010 (UTC)

It shouldn't be identified as any specific bullet caliber at all, since it's just an abstraction of various large calibers. Ausir(talk) 19:37, February 21, 2010 (UTC)

You may want to refer to this before adding information that is not needed. The Vault:Policies and guidelines. --Kingclyde 11:48, February 24, 2010 (UTC)

Plunkett's Valid Point's may refer to that and may not. Judging that the character name is Junders Plunkett, spiked knuckles would make a valid point. Feel free to discuss it on the talk page, but once again please read the policy and guidelines. You have not, since you are asking a question that is covered there. New Vegas source template? Edit

I thought I'd run this by you since you're one of the more prominent editors here. I was looking at some New Vegas pages which don't contain much information (or even a proper name) such as Virgin Mary Pistol. I can only imagine such a page would exist as a placeholder for whatever we find out the weapon to be so as to not have to make a new article later on. My problem isn't with doing that (it's good to be proactive), but rather with the New Vegas pre-release template as it stands.

Right now it says "The following is based on Fallout: New Vegas pre-release information and may contain spoilers."

I think that rather than having this template only say that the article may contain spoilers, it should also be more explicit about the fact that it's prerelease information, subject to change, similar to the source templates. I just don't think only putting pre-release information in bold is sufficient for conveying that the information is not yet canonical, especially since most of it is taken from uncited magazine articles, and might even be completely cut before the game releases. My recommendation would be to add something like:

"The following is based on Fallout: New Vegas pre-release information which is subject to change as the release date approaches and has not yet been confirmed by canon sources."

This would be kind of like the template Wikipedia puts at the top of it's pages concerning current events which serves as a disclaimer.

Anyway, if you don't care or this isn't the place to post it, please recommend me elsewhere. It didn't look like the notion would get any attention on the Templates talk page.

Socash11 11:27, February 25, 2010 (UTC)

Okay, I'll probably run that by him.
I didn't mean to say that New Vegas wasn't canon, I just said that whatever information we have isn't yet canon (at least until release). If any of the items mentioned in the magazine are removed from the game before release, it wouldn't be canonical so I thought maybe that should be addressed. Thanks for the help!

Vegas creatures Edit

Well, the supertitle isn't really intended to be used for that many games - it gets too cluttered. For multi-game subjects like that we usually leave all "game" parameters empty (see e.g. Brotherhood of Steel). -- Porter21 (talk) 19:30, February 28, 2010 (UTC)

IssuesEdit

"All content needs to abide by copyright regulations. Generally, content from other sites should not be copied unless permission has been granted." as per The Vault:Content policy. Also, what guide are you using? In my Prima guide, it gives no hands to sticky's stickiness. And please don't do blanket reverts and add incorrect information. --Kingclyde 01:44, March 2, 2010 (UTC)

"The contents of this page were entirely or partially copied from Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopedia, and are therefore licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License. The original version, its history and authors can be found at Xbox Live." That means it's a free license. The book is not. --Kingclyde 04:22, March 2, 2010 (UTC)

Sticky (Hands)Edit

Don't you think we should stick (haha) with the in-game usage? In-game he is only called "Sticky," right? And only on one page of the guide is he called "Sticky Hands," right? So, it seems to me we should leave the article page entitled "Sticky" and include the info that his full name is "Sticky Hands."

And, while you're being a stickler (haha), you could add back in the info that Gob's full name is "Gobtholemew."--Gothemasticator 04:00, March 2, 2010 (UTC)

True, Ausir also said in-game overrules a game guide as cannon. Most guides are written outside of the game, if that makes sense. And before the final game is complete. Gothemasticator's proposal makes sense. --Kingclyde 04:14, March 2, 2010 (UTC)
As for nicknames, if a character is known mostly under the in-game nickname, I'd stick with the nickname - I'd move to the full name if e.g. a character's in-game name is just his first or last name, though. Ausir(talk) 08:35, March 2, 2010 (UTC)

Anna HoltEdit

In the GECK, she is set as Neutral, that is the setting that the field is based from. You also incur bad karma from killing her even though she is neutral. It is probably a bug. --Kingclyde 04:14, March 2, 2010 (UTC)

GobtholemewEdit

Here. Right below the "Following in His Footsteps" box, where it says "Quest Flowchart." Read left to right from "Main Characters."--Gothemasticator 04:30, March 2, 2010 (UTC)

With like logic I maintain that in-game usage should always trump guide-only info. Gamers who don't have the guide will not know Sticky Hands or Gobtholemew, so for both we should title the article with the in-game name and include the extra info within the text of the article.--Gothemasticator 04:38, March 2, 2010 (UTC)

DialogEdit

The dialog is in game dialog. In all reality, it should have the same copyright info on it but it is assumed that being the wiki is about the game, dialog will be used in the wiki. That is also handled by the wiki copyright which covers the IN-GAME dialog and whatnot. All in-game images and videos are required to have the copyright tag on them stating it is from the game. But you are unwilling to even look outside your box about this. You seem to be dead set that I am almost always wrong. So be it. I'm looking out for the interest of the wiki. If Prima came through here and saw their content being used word-for-word, they would do their best to shut us down for plagiarism and copyright violation. I've actually seen this happen on the regular wiki, this is no different. Already brought this up on Ausir's page. Waiting for a response.--Kingclyde 04:33, March 2, 2010 (UTC)

CopyrightEdit

I had this discussion with Ausir a while back. I thought it was ridiculous to rephrase background sections from the guide. He overruled me and said that we should rephrase quotes from the guide in our own words.

It is different from wikipedia, since the guides are privately published.--Gothemasticator 04:41, March 2, 2010 (UTC)

Kingclyde is right, we shouldn't be copying stuff from the guide word for word. The difference from e.g. the Van Buren design docs is that the guide is being sold by Prima, so they could say that we're hurting their sales. Ausir(talk) 08:32, March 2, 2010 (UTC)

Guns Edit

Hi Nitty. Not a problem. Noticing that tables are provided for FO1/2 etc and the FO3 Energy Weapons page, I thought the Big Guns and Small Guns pages needed the info added as well (that could be said for Unarmed as well). Hadn't noticed the Fallout 3 weapons page before, which should make tracking down the variants a bit easier.

Currently I am working off the individual weapons pages, and comparing to some of the information in the table on the FO3 weapons page indicates there may need to be some changes on some of the DPS figures. Take the .32 pistol for example; 5 shots per second x 6 damage per shot x 1 projectile per shot = 30 damage per second as per the page, yet showing as 10 on the small guns table. This is one of many where the stats on the Fallout 3 weapons table doesn't match the actual individual weapons page. I am assuming the individual weapons pages have the correct information??

Thanks.    phoenix     txt    data   04:49, March 3, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for clarifying that. Have now completed the Small Guns in the new format, and will review the Big Guns figures.    phoenix     txt    data   05:43, March 3, 2010 (UTC)

.44 Weapons Chart for Comparison Edit

The comparison charts on the .44 weapons like Lincoln's repeater and Callahan's magnum were specifically made to compare all the weapons that use a .44 round. Because of this, the repeater belongs on the list for the other weapons too. The type of weapon doesn't dictate what the list is about, the ammunition does (the whole thing was made because the .44 round is more rare than other bullets, and the weapons are all relatively similar in the amount of damage they deliver). --Clean Up 01:07, March 7, 2010 (UTC)

A repair list? Filled with unique weapons? Um, well when I read that the chart was comparing all .44 weapons, I assumed that it would include the repeater. I thought the whole point of the chart was to compare the weapons that used the same rare ammo type. And you can't compare this to 10mms, those weapons' damages and range vary greatly, but as I already said the .44 weapons do similar damage and (with the exception of paulson's revolver), the scoped magnum's range is close to that of the rifle (mostly because the rifle lacks a scope of it's own). If you include the repeater, it would show which weapon "make the best use" of the ammo, which I think makes it more useful.--Clean Up 03:35, March 8, 2010 (UTC)

Sticky Edit

In-game names are considered canon, and "Sticky Hands" is best left in his character box instead of being an article name. User- EatThatNuke Nuke-A-Cola -ᴺᵘᴷᴬ Blab 20:23, March 7, 2010 (UTC)

StickyEdit

Nitty, please see Ausir's word on the issue from Kingclyde's talk page: "As for nicknames, if a character is known mostly under the in-game nickname, I'd stick with the nickname - I'd move to the full name if e.g. a character's in-game name is just his first or last name, though. Ausir(talk) 08:35, March 2, 2010 (UTC)"

Adding last names from the guide (e.g. Palabras) makes sense. "Hands" is not, however, a last name. We really should stay with "Sticky" as the article title and only mention the longer nickname of "Sticky Hands" in the background section.--Gothemasticator 20:41, March 7, 2010 (UTC)

Sticky, Sticky Hands, and Jack are all nicknames - none of them are his full name. We should go with the nickname he is known by in-game and leave the alternates for mention in the background section.--Gothemasticator 20:49, March 7, 2010 (UTC)
Well, this is the relevant section. And I think the most relevant sentences are these:
  • The names of articles about ingame subjects should correspond to the ingame name in both spelling and capitalization.
  • For characters, titles and ranks should not be included in the article title. For example, if a character is called "Paladin XYZ", the article should be named "XYZ". Full names are preferred if possible.
My distinction between full names and nicknames is, I believe, reasonable. (The above also explains why we choose Alphonse Almodovar over Vault 101 Overseer, by the way.)--Gothemasticator 20:58, March 7, 2010 (UTC)

In my understanding, the difference between Alphonse Almodovar and Sticky Hands is the general reaction of people learning the info. If I come on to this wiki and search for Vault 101 Overseer and I end up on Alphonse Almodovar's page, my reaction is basically, "Oh. That's his name. Okay." Whereas, if I search for Sticky and end up at Sticky Hands, my reaction is more likely, "What? Where does it say that? His name's Sticky."--Gothemasticator 21:04, March 7, 2010 (UTC)

I had this discussion with Ausir before I moved it back to Sticky a few days ago. He said to me that "Sticky" is his in-game name and should be the title of his page. "Sticky Hands" is only listed in the newer Prima guide. It stays at Sticky. Porter is the one who made the redirect after I deleted Sticky Hands. The only thing that says that is his real name is the Prima guide. Alphose Almodovar's and Amata Almodovar's pages are like that vs. "Vault 101 Overseer" for the reasons listed on this page Vault 101 Overseer. There are six options. Both Amata and Alphonse are listed there. --Kingclyde 22:23, March 7, 2010 (UTC)

Sticky's AgeEdit

Hey, since you've got the handy-dandy guide, how about solving the question of Sticky's age with some authority? I have no issue with the article's continuity notice regarding the age of kick-out from Litlle Lamplight, but I don't see how that needs to impact the stating of Sticky's own age.--Gothemasticator 21:26, March 7, 2010 (UTC)

A few things to be aware of, also, while editing on this Wikia and leaving messages on forums, blogs and talk pages:

RulesEdit

  • Don't be nasty or rude! Saying inappropriate things or being rude towards people is not accepted here. If you disagree about something, talk about it civilly.
  • Don't edit in first person! Putting things in articles like "This user..." and "I..." doesn't work here. I'm not saying that this is the Encyclopedia Britanica, but it ruins the quality of articles.

VandalEdit

He was blocked for doing that to a few articles and changing James to a she. Five different changes different articles seems pretty deliberate to me. Next time I suggest you review the other contributions the editor made before I blocked them. I don't block without reason. I am not a noob admin here. Do not treat me as such. --Kingclyde 02:28, March 13, 2010 (UTC)

MistakeEdit

Well, I fixed my mistake. As for the holier than thou attitude, look in the mirror. I don't care if you like me or not, but I make good edits here. And honestly, holier than thou? Give me an example. I'll give you an example of one for you. The whole copyright ordeal. You felt you were correct and made it a point to degrade me. You used a discussion with Ausir that was unrelated to wave in my face that I was wrong. In the end, I was correct and it took Ausir and Goth to tell you that. Hell even Nukey chimed in. It seems your attitude has gotten worse since you hit 10k edits. Honestly, I'm done dealing with little kids like yourself. You dare talk down to me when I have a higher education than you a far more experience in life than you. If holier than thou means I'm honest, look out for the interest of The Vault and aim to make this and other wiki's better, then I'm guilty. You on the other hand need some growing up to do. In the future, I suggest doing more research before unblocking blocks or reverting edits I make. I don't block for lame reasons nor do I add incorrect information. I've been here longer and made alot of contributions well before you came on. And honestly, you only have about 2k useful edits up on me. Good day. --Kingclyde 01:34, March 14, 2010 (UTC)

Why three months? Edit

As childish it may be to complain, but why do people have to wait 3 months before they can become an admin? Nukey Chocobo  Nukey  tok

When... Edit

You decided to keep arguing with him. Nukey Chocobo  Nukey  tok

Was something wrong with my edit? Edit

Just curious, but I just edited Dukov and saw that you undid my edit and then seemingly made the same change that I did (added "You Gotta Shoot 'Em in the Head" as a quest he is involved in). Was something wrong with my edit or did you just accidentally undo my revision? If something was wrong with it, can you tell me what it was? I don't want to be repeating mistakes if I can avoid them in the future, so I'm open to constructive criticism. Thanks. Tsarkon 07:04, March 14, 2010 (UTC)

I turned off RTE and I have to say I like this old editor better. I noticed it was updating fields I didn't touch but I didn't know how to stop that from happening. Thanks for the tip. Tsarkon 07:16, March 14, 2010 (UTC)

If you enjoy Evil Spock then I suggest you check out this t-shirt. Spock, goatees, and their link to evilness all in one place; it's hard to go wrong with a winning combination like that. Heheh. Tsarkon 07:33, March 14, 2010 (UTC)

Damnit! Edit

Okay, the title isn't directed to you, but I need assistance. Can you delete accidental picture uploads? Ghouly89 13:29, March 14, 2010 (UTC)

Fuck me? Fuck you! :D Okay my fun is done now I was trying to upload Cabbot with the background cropped out, and it didn't work, neither a .jpeg or .gif gave me what I wanted. Just delete the Cabbothead.jpeg and Cabbothead.gif (without the background). Maybe I can still fix the problem. Ghouly89 13:44, March 14, 2010 (UTC)
Thank you o might vulture. Hmm you wouldn't know how to fix this picture problem, would you? For reference, I 'm trying to get this:
Ah, I thought since the only one with the green background was like that, that it was a mini-project in need of doing. In that case, may I have the honor of changing Killian? Ghouly89 14:12, March 14, 2010 (UTC)
Okay, already got the pic, so it'll be done. Also, should any pictures for FO1 special encounters be uploaded? (provided none are there yet) Ghouly89 14:30, March 14, 2010 (UTC)

Interactions template and RTE Edit

Good observation. I started to suspect something like that but didn't get round to checking before I left. I have a bit of time today, so I'll get the bot to set the empty fields to "no" instead to prevent the RTE removing them. -- Porter21 (talk) 15:02, March 14, 2010 (UTC)

The bot is working on it; should be done in an hour or so. It might miss a couple of pages where people modified the interaction parameters, but it should catch the vast majority. -- Porter21 (talk) 16:23, March 14, 2010 (UTC)

Theme music Edit

Dunno, I don't think they'd license these specific tracks anyway, that was probably there just to specify the feel of these characters more, I guess. Ausir(talk) 22:07, March 14, 2010 (UTC)

bug sections on pages Edit

good afternoom i was thinking bout a little chance on the bug section of all the NPC's, Quests etcetra,

wouldnt it be more organised if it gets split up in 4 section

All platforms, Xbox 360 , PS3 and the last section PC

and only use the sections on a vertain page if the certain pltform has actual bugs so we wont get the empty sections like with the new infoboxes with underneath relasted quests which actually rarely or even never get used.

Wesleyeye 15:16, March 21, 2010 (UTC)

than i was thinkiong bout 1 other thing i took Harkness'infobox 2 demonstrate :

__________

i was thinking to delete the sections which i marked because there never been used and only take extra space and as u said the pages are already starting to flow over. what u think about it? Wesleyeye 15:26, March 21, 2010 (UTC)

So what ur saying is that it can be removed as long as the NPC is not involved in an quest or alike things indeed like Gallo or for sample Rocksalt.

Wesleyeye 15:33, March 21, 2010 (UTC)

ok now i totally understand it, thank you verry much for your time and i'll start off immidaitly optimizing pages tonight or maybe even now duno whether diner is ready, but ty again for your time its appriciated.

Wesleyeye 15:36, March 21, 2010 (UTC) btway it should indeed not need 2 be mentioned whether someone is or isnt mezzable if since this can be make up from the new infobox right? just takes unneccesary extra space.

Wesleyeye 15:48, March 21, 2010 (UTC)

so like this Gallo, just asking to be sure:P and your right about Rocksalt *need 2 Concentrate*

Wesleyeye 15:41, March 21, 2010 (UTC)

call me stupid but im sure i didnt erase the Other Interactions sdection from gallo's page or did i? srry if i did.

Wesleyeye 15:45, March 21, 2010 (UTC)

Pffff this isnt as easy as it first sounded can you give me an sample for like the Paratrooper at realted quests

since he has an small role so

He's an American paratrooper who gets killed and leaves the Gauss rifle behind

something like that?

Wesleyeye 15:54, March 21, 2010 (UTC)

ok i think i get it now , anyway again thanks for your help i will be off for diner and homework having an smoke and i will be back in bout 3 hours and i will start of with megaton's citizen's

Kokonamu aka Waste 22:28, March 23, 2010 (UTC)

That's a big fat negative Edit

So if I post two threads about games "You have to pay for" I'm a spam bot? I really think only one of those you had to pay for. Adamatomic.com is a website with some sick ass FREE flash based games that I was trying to share with people and Cortex Command is a sweet game still in developement that you can get for free or buy for 20 dollars to support the team making it. Certainly not a spambot... Seriously... Harsh. By the way can you un-delete those? How much does Metro 2033 cost? Do I have to pay for it? Metalfrenchtoast 03:10, March 24, 2010 (UTC)

Well, since Nitty can be rather mean sometimes, video games are copyrighted and if you are illegally playing them you can be fined, its a federal law. Nukey (Tok) (Blag) 03:13, March 24, 2010 (UTC)

Uhh... I'm not? I was just trying to share a couple games with people. Canabalt is free, and I was just telling people about Cortex Command. Wasn't putting out ads, wasn't whatever-botting. I was just sharing a couple damn games... So the difference between a sales ad and a discussion is how many people have replied to it within a certain amount of time? Seriously, I cry foul here... Metalfrenchtoast 03:37, March 24, 2010 (UTC)

I thought off-topic discussion was for just whatever. Sorry, I'll be sure not to mention the price of a game in the future. Normally when I find a game for less than 30 bucks that kicks ass I like to share it with people. I'll also take the time to make sure you know about it before I post the thread. My bad. Influence Edit

It is intended to be the former - the impact their appearance has on the Wasteland and the player experience. The background and emergence sections weren't there to provide a history of the Enclave, but a brief summary of their appearance and involvement in the storyline of Fallout 3 (since they are a primary faction).   phoenix  txt  Mini-FO3 Logo2 12:13, March 25, 2010 (UTC)

Mister Burke: New SectionEdit

Sorry for the Post. I Was randomly searching through Pages and it said about a Page to add Called: Mister Crowley (Mr. Burke) But since i havent started a New campaign in months. So i thought that was his nickname or something?.... So yeah.. -.-' Sorry. Fallout3 Matters

Fair enough Edit

Ok I can agree with that but just so you know it wasn't entirely speculation, it was from what I saw on the Supply plant's Terminal's and thourght it would be an intresting thourght for other users, besides at no point did I claim that those were facts and lastly didn't have to delete the whole bloomin thing, you could of just edited the title or information.

Oh PLEASE! Edit

Redundant?

Umm...incase you havn't noticed people (like me) use this site to be informed not to be entertained.

I've been using this (even before I got an account) I like all the behind the scenes and extra info stuff and who cares if it's not important? since there are links to the top of the page that intrest them and to the sections important to playing the game (not to mention very easily ignore my info which is at the bottom) I see NO reason or harm (such as misinformation) in having my section there, so I will keep it on that page.

I'm begining to see why your named "nitpicker".

P.S: I'm putting my foot down on this because I believe my content is relevent if not insightful.

*facepalm* O...M...G Edit

So your problem with this site is over-information?

Ok...incase you didn't know, this site not only details Fallout games but the Fallout universe in general, which is why it details the how Fallout's universe differ's from our own, how people drive atomic cars and have robotic helpers but my guess is that your going to complain since it has nothing to do with the gameplay!

Hell, the sites motto even states that it strives to be the "ultimate Fallout resource", I mean would it hinder your use of the site the slightest if there are such articles for the aliens personal Forcefields? NO because you wouldn't be searching for it!

Get real and stop the drama also take a lession from the Intelligence Bobblehead's quote:

Bobblehead Intelligence
"It takes the smartest individuals to realize there's always more to learn."

... It also goes on to say "The Vault is a community that aims to create the best resource for the Fallout series of games, including Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout 3 and their spin-offs. For game-specific content"

Yep I think my content does relate to Fallout 3's The Pitt's sidestory just fine, now if you got anything else you'd like to nitpick then go ahead but it IS staying up, just stop the drama already, there's already articles detailing The Pitt's backstory so why not one of the side one's?

Besides I think gamers won't throw a hissy fit like if they discover my now behind the scenes and complain that it's "useless".

Oh good grief, just because I don't know for sure doesn't mean it can't be included!

Just look at the Pipboy 3000's article Stanley say that nobody can remove the Pipboy but the player is able to easily slide the sleves under the pipboy and even says: "The use of the word "Biometric" would imply that only the owner of the Pip-Boy can remove it."

He implyed it, he may not know but atlest he try's to explain why but hey, according to you the only people who should be able to edit are ones that are all knowing Guru's.

I'm not making wild speculations, just educated guesses, lighten up will ya!
Birthday party

Problem which i know not how to fix Edit

the combat shotgun link in the weapons box list thing (the list that appears on all weapon pages which you can choose to show or not) is broken, it is only bolded. thanks--FLaSHBaCK HaSH 01:44, March 29, 2010 (UTC)

Wow, I am an idiot, its not broken, I was viewing the page *face palm*. --FLaSHBaCK HaSH 01:50, March 29, 2010 (UTC)

I copy you on the below message so you know what's going onEdit

But, Nitty, arguing back and forth isn't solving anything. Link the guy to our relevant articles on policy and layout. If he still won't listen or if he becomes abusive (I didn't see this guy actually get abusive), then bring another admin in. If a guy deserves blocking after disagreeing with you over some edits, better to let somebody else handle it. More professional, less questions that way.--Gothemasticator 02:23, March 29, 2010 (UTC)

The Vault PolicyEdit

You and Nitpicker of the Wastes have been engaging in an edit war. Even though tempers flared, the language did not descend into insults or harassment, so, good job as far as that goes. However, in the future, if initial exchanges with a disagreeing editor do not move toward a consensus, drop it and contact one of the other administrators. Arguing and butting heads does not solve problems. I have temporarily protected the Protectron page to avoid this going any further. I have also copied this message to Nitpicker's page.

In the meantime, be advised that speculation is not permitted in articles here at The Vault. In order to maintain our status as a source of information about the game, we have to make sure that what our articles provide is factual and sourced. Speculation is fun, but it belongs in forum pages.

In addition, we indeed do not include sections named "trivia" in our articles. We have replaced that title with "behind the scenes." You can read more about our standard layouts here.

Feel free to contact me on my talk page if you have any more questions. Otherwise, I will consider this matter closed. Below, I include some relevant bits from our user conduct policy. Have a nice day.--Gothemasticator 02:23, March 29, 2010 (UTC)

  • Be polite: It's not only important what you say but also how you say it. Be civil when talking to other people and treat them with respect. This site is built on cooperation.
  • Assume good faith: Do your best to assume that other editors are trying to help unless you have evidence to the contrary. Accidents happen, and not everybody has a lot of experience with editing a wiki.
  • Do not start edit wars: Be ready to discuss your changes with others. If you disagree with another editor, discuss the issue either on user or article talk pages. Repeatedly reverting each other's changes ("edit warring") is bound to aggrevate the conflict instead of solving it. If you cannot reach a consensus, ask another user to mediate.

RE: LinkingEdit

The point is that if someone is acting against policy, assuming that they know policy or insisting that they should is simply not productive. It may be true, but it doesn't help. So, instead, you just supply a link to as appropriate a quote as you can and calmly explain that here at The Vault we follow this policy. Then, if they refuse, it has nothing to do with you or a grudge against you or anything. They're just disagreeing with policy at that point and can be dealt with accordingly. The problem with arguing is that, right or wrong, it makes both parties look bad. And, if there are any snide remarks, subtle insults, etc., exchanged, the validity of the reasoning becomes irrelevant.--Gothemasticator 02:39, March 29, 2010 (UTC)

Are you sure? Edit

Of course Balthas does sound like a real name, and I'm not questioning your superior judgement, but in-game it says "you see Baltha's wife", which denotes that his name is Baltha. Ghouly89 (Talk) 03:43, March 29, 2010 (UTC)

Ah, yet again I'm sorry. In dialogue, he says that his name is Balthas. I must be out of it today. And sorry for being annoying, I just need to stop asking so many questions. Ghouly89 (Talk) 03:47, March 29, 2010 (UTC)
Ok, last question (sorry), but can I make a FO2 location page for the Tannery in Modoc? It is a unique building, and business for that matter, to the wastes. Ghouly89 (Talk) 04:02, March 29, 2010 (UTC)

Sorry... Edit

Sorry for acting like a self-centered brat but I just felt fustrated because I saw all other "speculations" like mine and wasn't getting any awnsers, plus I'm still kinda new here.

Also there's somthing for you to see on my UserPage from our little "fight" PurpleStorm 04:47, March 29, 2010 (UTC)

Much appreciation for the lesson in wiki basics. Edit

Thanks for the gander at trying to teach me something, but i already knew that, i just had a senior moment and forgot. --FLaSHBaCK HaSH 21:31, March 29, 2010 (UTC)

Conductors Edit

In the Conductor article, you removed my information about easily finding one in the Benson house's kitchen, now I've checked there (hell, I'm looking at one in the game right now) so I know I'm not wrong, it IS related to the locations section (let alone the game) and even I can't up a reason why it should be removed.

So why was it?

Ok...Kind of a silly policy to me but fine.

Also is it acceptible for weapon component's to be listed as "Notable loot" on a article of a location?

IS vs. WAS Edit

All character articles should be presented as {{PAGENAME}} is a member/resident of so and so in the year whatever. This isn't an insult, but characters are my field of expertise. Just make sure to watch out for that, i.e. John Bloch. Thanks Ghouly89 (Talk) 01:19, March 30, 2010 (UTC)

No problem. Say, I'm just putting this out there, but do you think in the near future, the Vault could kick-start a Van Buren project? As in uploading/completing articles from information on the design documents? Ghouly89 (Talk) 01:30, March 30, 2010 (UTC)

Oh, I didn't make the message at the top of Alya for a better image. I'm more proper, and for that matter educated about the shotty graphics in the old games. Ghouly89 (Talk) 00:23, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

CharactersEdit

Sorry, the characters are from Van Buren. I keep on getting Van Buren and Fallout Tactics mixed up and i don't know why.Tezzla Cannon 11:41, March 30, 2010 (UTC)

9mm Edit

ok, man. Shadowrunner56 22:24, March 30, 2010 (UTC)

Image Edit

I have player around with the image of a character from Fallout 1 in photoshop, and I can't get it to a very good quality. Check out removed broken image link and tell whether to swap with the one on Alya's page or not. Thanks Nitty, Ghouly89 (Talk) 00:31, April 1, 2010 (UTC)

Van Edit

Actually, Martin Van Buren spelt his name with uppercase Van. Ausir(talk) 19:21, April 1, 2010 (UTC)

Tesla Resonance Armor Edit

Yeah, I got the details from GECK. On mine it was successfully added to inventory with player.additem 03002480 1, and has complete Pip-Boy details and world model.   phoenix  txt  Mini-FO3 Logo2 13:34, April 2, 2010 (UTC)

I added it to that list after the other editor created the new article. I was surprised someone had found something new that seemed to have escaped the eagle eyes of many, so I had a look through GECK but it seems most if not all of the 0-linked entries already have their own articles, or are mentioned on the base armor/weapons pages. Obviously there are some that can be equipped through the console that are not normally available as a weapon/armor in their own right (Death Ray, Vertibird Gun, Metro Car Armor etc), but I don't think those should be listed. So I would say complete (but you never know) :)   phoenix  txt  Mini-FO3 Logo2 13:47, April 2, 2010 (UTC)
Well, I'll be... lol. I suppose I can add a few of those more unusual items in there as time permits. Thanks for that.   phoenix  txt  Mini-FO3 Logo2 14:08, April 2, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah i know, but you can hear the robobrain saying that it wont be inhabitable. It seriously does say that. Bethesda probably forgot that they think no life is outside. Tezzla Cannon 17:01, April 2, 2010 (UTC)

Apparently, you are infamous amongst internet spammers :P. Is this guy just a spammer or not? Because I just left him a welcome message. Ghouly89 (Talk) 23:28, April 2, 2010 (UTC)

What kind of help do you need? Of course, I'll also take on the position of the "Tough Shit" administrator once I am one, so everyone doesn't pick on you. :D Ghouly89 (Talk) 23:40, April 2, 2010 (UTC)
Oh, and I have a non-related question to the Admin. thing. How do you archive a talk page? Ghouly89 (Talk) 23:55, April 2, 2010 (UTC)

Mista J CrowleyEdit

It's amazing how many people still cannot read two lines above where they are adding info. --Kingclyde 23:29, April 2, 2010 (UTC)

I wanted to apologize to you for causing any friction. We are both admins here and I would like us to work together and not against each other. Sound good to you? --Kingclyde 23:29, April 2, 2010 (UTC)

Ban? Edit

I noticed your little battle over the VATS page with that unregistered person. Just wondering if you decided to ban him or not. 10 deliberate undos seems like he just wants to antagonize people. Anyways good job keeping the page looking like it should, its a pretty annoying job having to revert something ever 3 min. --FLaSHBaCK HaSH 00:40, April 3, 2010 (UTC)

Ha! Nice. Didnt know that Porterbot was such a beast (if porterbot is still in commission among the ranks of the Vault). --FLaSHBaCK HaSH 00:43, April 3, 2010 (UTC)

Very Nice, a bot as great as that one has yet to be invented. but i guess you must have the talent for such imaginative thinking ;). --FLaSHBaCK HaSH 00:53, April 3, 2010 (UTC)

Ban range Edit

Hello, I gathered the list of IPs recently used by this guy and calculated a range, it should be stifled now. If not I'll recalculate. --Charitwo (talk) 00:44, April 3, 2010 (UTC)

Something of concern Edit

Hey, I've been wondering why you had blocked my IP Address for me adding a glitch saying that Everett can randomly turn into a trog...I dunno how or why this happened, but once after I gave him some steel ingots he just transformed into a trog(not with some special animation or anything just glitched into a trog) and started attacking me. I thought it might just have been some strange lag that skipped a bunch of frames and that the trog from right outside his office came through the door, but that trog was still out there and Everett was nowhere to be found afterward.

Power Vector 05:19, April 3, 2010 (UTC)

What the heck are you talking about?Edit

Lack of support from other admins? If it's about this latest revolving IP guy, I think you just happened to be the guy on hand at the time. I dealt with one a week or two ago that was vandalizing my own user page. Plus the revolver that you were fighting wasn't doing anything personal to you. Ash had some guy bothering her on her own talk pages. And she overreacted. Understandable, perhaps, but still an overreaction. Don't get paranoid on us, Nitty. You are well-liked here and you are valued. I like you. I really wish I had been more involved during the wolfy days. I really would've stuck up for you more. (And I did get your secret message, and I do keep my eyes open, but I haven't seen anything definite yet.) Don't start thinking you're getting picked on. Keep your head clear, and know that you have some friends here, me being one of them. (And I really am on pseudo-vacation right now, so don't take it personally that I'm hardly here for a while. After April 10th or so, I'll be my usual self again.) --Gothemasticator 05:47, April 3, 2010 (UTC)

Interactions Edit

So, the sub-heading should be left as Interactions with the player character? Well then, I'll just change the layout guide for the project page... Ghouly89 (Talk) 19:06, April 3, 2010 (UTC)

You know the side quest in Fallout New Vegas where the NCR asks you to repair Helios One, can i create an article for that quest and give it a speculative name and then rename it when we find out what it is actually called?Tezzla Cannon 19:38, April 3, 2010 (UTC)

A little heads up Edit

i was planning to embark on an alphabetizing/reordering journey which would incorporate lists of things (mostly characters or positions) which would include pages like the Companion page, the Brotherhood of Steel positions page, and etc. I didnt want to freak you out by making you think that i was deleting things, just moving them around. --FLaSHBaCK HaSH 23:08, April 4, 2010 (UTC)

New Template Edit

I am about to create the Template to put at the top of all quest pages under the Quest Project, how do I create the page? Should I just create a new article called: Template:Quest Project? Other than that, I know what I'm doing... Thanks, Ghouly89 (Talk) 01:55, April 7, 2010 (UTC)

Miscellaneous items page Edit

The Vault does need a miscellaneous items page, but not that one. You were right in deleting it, because the page should be named: Fallout: New Vegas miscellaneous items instead. At least I think :D Ghouly89 (Talk) 02:20, April 9, 2010 (UTC)

Ah my friend, isn't that what the magical {{upcoming}} template is for? :] What say you, should I make the category page and the overview article really quickly? Or should we wait... Ghouly89 (Talk) 02:34, April 9, 2010 (UTC)

WHAT THE HELL Edit

So what is your problem man EVERY article I write on YOU DELETE, I got that INFORMATION from a spanish website i just translated it.QUE TE FOYEN(Y=LL)

Felixwilliams12, calm down. chill. try not to get mad at the admins. they are doing their job and are only helping. now occasionaly you will get angry at wikis. everybody has. just please don't get mad at them for doing the stuff they are supposed to do. Tezzla Cannon 21:08, April 9, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, as annoying and arrogant Nitty may be, he's still a good admin... he just seems to have no respect for new editors (no offense Nitty).

If you have any problems with editing felix, then like i said the other day, look at the policies page. comprende? Tezzla Cannon 21:18, April 9, 2010 (UTC)

True, Edit

I can understand why people would get mad at you for deleting their information from articles. Your just trying to do your job, and usually edits made by others can be grammatically incorrect. I think I might finish working on my grammar page (under my help box on my user page) to help people. Nukey (Talk) (Blog) 21:21, April 9, 2010 (UTC)

I know. Why can't users just accept that he is trying to helping?

I know. Why can't everybody just stop being idiots and accept the fact that Nitty is trying to helping? Tezzla Cannon 21:24, April 9, 2010 (UTC)

Sorry i accidently put that. What i meant to say was "Trying to help". Tezzla Cannon 21:27, April 9, 2010 (UTC)

Cos you revert thier edits and tell them why and why not to make edits like that (Helping). I seriously don't understand why people get annoyed by you helping them. Tezzla Cannon 21:33, April 9, 2010 (UTC)

Internet Terms Edit

I've seen terms used such as: Banjumper, flame bait and others used across the Wikia, and I was wondering what some of them meant. Nukey (Talk) (Blog) 23:32, April 9, 2010 (UTC)

Hey, would you like a poster? Edit

Hey Nitty, you've helped me out lots, so I thought I'd help you back. Would you like a thing-thing poster, maybe an invetation to the Mafia Games itself? Just if you want the poster, I just want to help out some. Megaton Mettaur 01:55, April 10, 2010 (UTC)

Fallout picture brightness Edit

I am not quite sure how bright pictures taken straight from the old games should be. On StarfishCostume's page, I have two pictures, of the same character, but at different brightness levels. Tell me which one is more appropriate for the Vault., Thanks, Ghouly89 (Talk) 23:27, April 10, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for your input. *sighs for a good 5 seconds* Now, I have to change all of the bright pictures he uploaded, and change all the ones I uploaded a tad bit. :P Ghouly89 (Talk) 00:07, April 11, 2010 (UTC)
No worries :D Just workworkworkworkwork, right? By the way, I think setting the pixel margin for all character pictures to 150 pixels is a little too small. Would 180 or even 200 be acceptable to you? Ghouly89 (Talk) 00:15, April 11, 2010 (UTC)
Again, thanks. Now all I have to do is make sure Starfish knows this before more uploads start coming in. Ghouly89 (Talk) 00:20, April 11, 2010 (UTC)

Sink article deletedEdit

Are you going to make a wasteland water article like I suggested on the sink discussion page? I assume you are as you deleted the entire sink article and its discussion. That seems like an odd thing to do when practically every other thing in the game world has it's own page, including two other sources of water in the wasteland, fire hydrants and drinking fountains.

Vegas Books Edit

May I ask why the New Vegas books overview was deleted? BoS Paladin Thumbnail Knight Captain Ski (talk) 21:25, April 13, 2010 (UTC)

Well, if thats the case, you should delete the Fallout 3 books page for saying "books" instead of "magazines" as well since it covers the exact same things as the page I created for Vegas. I made it match the appearance and format of that page, like you said it needed to. Deleting the page when I followed the guidelines just because you don't agree with the wording of the title (when the title matches an article of similar content from another game) is a poor reason in my opinion. BoS Paladin Thumbnail Knight Captain Ski (talk) 22:58, April 13, 2010 (UTC)

If they've called them books in every other game I think its pretty likely they'll be called that in Vegas as well. "Skill Magazines" just doesn't sound right. BoS Paladin Thumbnail Knight Captain Ski (talk) 19:00, April 14, 2010 (UTC)
