Hey Mike what is the font called for the letter "N" in your Nuka Cola jpg? I'm creating a label and have the fonts for everything except a good match for the letter "N" I'm missing that exact kind of extension on the left side of the letter.

What, they wanted to make a legit game that actually sold. Face it, no one wants to play Isometric Turn-based RPG's nowadays. They saved Fallout. And They -Don't- Steal from other games. Realek 14:50, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Easy to use collapsible box
Well, one way would be to do it like I just did at Sierra_Army_Depot#Loot (use a table with the classes "collapsible" and "collapsed", similar to how sortable tables work). I could also make a template for it to simplify using it if you want. Or did you mean something else? -- Porter21 (talk) 08:21, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
- There you go: Template:Colbox :) -- Porter21 (talk) 08:43, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Coding in an upload category selection
Unfortunately, not possible for us. The wikia people would have to alter Special:Upload and I doubt they'll do it just for one wiki. We could add a dropdown box to MediaWiki:Edittools but that'd not only show on the upload page but everywhere where there's an editbox (i.e. when editing articles etc). In addition, it'd be static which means instead of automatically displaying the most used categories we'd have to enter the categories we want manually. Don't think that'd be good solution all in all.
The whole image categorization is pretty annoying, especially since the auto-complete doesn't work in the summary field either... -- Porter21 (talk) 13:39, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Company template
Infobox or navbox? Made the latter (Template:Pre-war companies), can also make an infobox. By the way, I've also had my bot link up Template:Vault City on the respective pages. -- Porter21 (talk) 20:20, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
- There you go: Template:Pre-war company. I've modelled it after Template:Faction and added the fields you specified. I only renamed "field of expertise" to "industry" because it was shorter/simpler and left out "first appearance". I think "appearance" might be a bit misleading since most companies don't actually appear but are only mentioned. Of course, we could have a "first mention" entry but I think we could do without it as well, to be honest. Anyway, have fun :) -- Porter21 (talk) 21:16, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Template:San Francisco
I'll have the bot add it to the respective pages. Could take a bit though, it's still busy with Ausir's idea to change all "DLC" references to "add-on" :P -- Porter21 (talk) 09:02, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] "name" parameter in navboxes
The "name" parameter for navboxes needs to be the page name minus "Template:", i.e. for Template:NCR Town it has to be NCR Town. This is because the parameter controls where the "edit/view/discuss this template" links go to, they won't work properly otherwise. -- Porter21 (talk) 23:34, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Amorality
Well, I didn't base my decision on who I like more but more on what I consider right. Amorality asked politely (and for something which is really not a big deal) only to have the three of them sweep down on him in a bullying manner. Personally I don't consider that to be a correct way for contributors to deal with each other nor do I think stuff like that encourages new editors or is helpful for the wiki in any way. -- Porter21 (talk) 18:43, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Reverse-pickpocketing -> Planting items
It can probably be replaced by bot, due to the numerous redirects this could prove to be somewhat extensive though. And it won't replace plain text (i.e. unlinked) references to the term either. -- Porter21 (talk) 15:41, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
- Been looking at it, it doesn't lend itself to automatic replacement really. Reason for this is that you can't just exchange the terms which means you'd have to reword entire sentences if you don't want it to be awkward to read. For example, common uses for reverse-pickpocketing are: "you can get the item by reverse-pickpocketing character XY", "reverse-pickpocket a better armor", "you can get it by reverse-pickpocketing". We'd have to find a term to insert that fits in all of these cases, otherwise we might as well do it by hand in the first place. The only solution I could think of would be creating a fake verb (like reverse-pickpocket itself), for example "item-planting". -- Porter21 (talk) 18:05, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Can you help with another Wiki?
I can take a look once we have the Point Lookout mess sorted out. Since I haven't played any C&C game in ages (I think the last one I played was the very first :P) I'd need some reference pics of the "EVA Database" though to know what you're looking for. -- Porter21 (talk) 18:05, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
- Here's a first rough draft: File:Porter21 cncprev1.jpg - let me know what you think. If you want to see it live, create w:c:cnc:User:MikaelGrizzly/monaco.css (over at the cnc wiki) and copy/paste the following code into it, then save and clear your browser cache by pressing Ctrl+F5 afterwards.

- Hmm, tried your background image and I think with the upped brightness, the outline of the side boxes "blur" into the background a bit too much. Made two screenshots for comparison: current vs altered background. Otherwise I think I'm pretty much done. Should I post in that forum topic about the skin upgrade? Also, do you have some over there who can adapt the portal designs, infoboxes etc to the new scheme? If not, I could provide a sample for each, adapting all of them would be a bit too much for me though :P -- Porter21 (talk) 14:35, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
- Made a showcase for a redesigned main page. There's a bit too much stuff in the right column though, gotta factor in the ads which are displayed in that column usually. I'll iron out a few kinks and make an infobox showcase tomorrow, then I should be done with it all. -- Porter21 (talk) 23:37, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
- Infobox showcase done, finished now. The CSS has a general eva_box class which allows to easily create the scanline boxes, works with both divs and tables. Have fun :) -- Porter21 (talk) 09:23, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

There are a few pages where it might be difficult to distinguish what skill the eweapon uses (Punch Gun), and also some articles that have little known skill uses (Rock also being a Unarmed weapon). [edit] Minor bug
Hmm, the width should only be fixed for the eva_infobox class, eva_box itself has no standard width. If you're referring to my infobox showcase, the infobox has two classes set (class="eva_box eva_infobox"). The second one, eva_infobox, has just additional styling for infoboxes such as the fixed width and right-aligning the box; if you only put class="eva_box" width and alignment are gone. -- Porter21 (talk) 12:59, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] I broke something
Adjusting the navbox framework is rather complicated :) It uses its own set of CSS definitions in MediaWiki:Common.css for the look and it also needs some additions to MediaWiki:Common.js for the "collapse" functionality. Simply changing the main CSS class doesn't work (as you've discovered), we'll need to adjust the existing classes. I'd like to convert them from .spr to something the wiki can actually use, like .jpeg or .png or whatever. But of course, .spr is not a commonly supported file, and I've had difficulties finding plugins for it for any graphics editor that I'm familiar with. I've seen you uploading FO2 sprites, so uh... how do you do it? What program do you use? I don't know if it'll be compatible with FOT, but it's worth a try. --Macros 13:21, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Proxy Problem
Ok.I will keep a lookout for them in the future.Wikipedia has a whole lot more proxies than any others. The Dumpster behind KFC 07:10, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Hey Grizzly.
As you've seen, I'm adding the "for" template to some of the weapon pages, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to make more than one look lined up without using multiple templates. Is there any way I can get, say, City-Killer Combat Shotgun and Pancor Jackhammer in the same template, but in nice, orderly rows? Nitty 21:16, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
Well, that kinda worked. You can see what I'm talking about on CZ-53 Personal Minigun. Nitty 21:27, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
D'oh! Thanks, Grizzly. Nitty 21:33, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

- Oh no no no. I was only kidding. I haven't done anything to .MSG since I'm only a Fallout 3 player. Sorry. SuSpence95 (Talk) 22:31, September 14, 2009 (UTC)

Not sure if this is a vandal or not, so i decided to go to you. (since you are the only one online. Just delete it if you known it is. Here is the page. Frank Horrigan 06:18, September 27, 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Enclave talk Problems
"Removed the dumbass and hostile response. I don't have the expansion, I just found it unlikely. I'll re-iterate, quotes from Eden might clear it up, I'm sure someone has them handy somewhere." This section, which I copied from the Enclave talk page wasn't written by me. An unknown wrote this after he or she deleated your comment and my reply. I had a comment, which sadly isn't there because this person deleated it, about the unknown using the same logic that inevitally led to World War II. I know better than to delete sections from other people's comments just out of resepct: I like this place and I don't want to get kicked out on by butt. The problem is that the person never signed or was logged in so it looks like I did. I know what the Enclave were planning and would never say anything like what this person said. and I would never delete anything.--KnightNapier 14:08, October 4, 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Enclave Talk Restoration
Is there a way of putting back the deleated text so it doesn't look like I'm a nutcase? (right now it looks like I was arguing with myself) My arguements were valid but they got deleted by the unregistered user. Can we fix this?--KnightNapier 15:39, October 4, 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Nuka-Cola Fridge
Hello dear friend =). Yes, I just saw this ^^. Arf, in my memories, it was a Nuka-Cola Fridge in Necropolis, but in fact not. I was a little faster to post the picture and information. Sorry for the bad mistake. Good day to you and see soon =). Itachou 12:39, October 8, 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Blocking
Thinking that Van Buren was crappy is not reason enough for blocking. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Ausir(talk) 00:00, October 13, 2009 (UTC)
[edit] BoS symbol
Why the hell did you change the Brotherhood of Steel symbol in the Brotherhood of Steel article back April? Before that, the article used the correct version, with the large gear on the left. Thank to you, it used the wrong version (as in, the Midwestern Brotherhood version) for 6 months. Ausir(talk) 10:31, October 18, 2009 (UTC)
[edit] FOT symbol
Hello dear friend =). The pictures show me that you may be correct, it goes without say.
But, the fact of showing the gold symbol in a end cinematic has much more weight and wanted to show that it is precisely this symbol that differentiates it from others.
It's like Texas Brotherhood of Steel, on the notice and another, there is sometimes a symbol of true Brotherhood of Steel, but this is not good, the true symbol encompasses all other. Itachou 21:35, October 20, 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Sarge reference Quake 3 Arena
Hello Grizzlou =). I don't understand why you remove the references, Quake 3 Arena was released in 1999, two years before Fallout Tactics and appearance are extremely similar to Sarge of Quake 3 Arena. The renders of Fallout Tactics that are published in January 2001. Itachou [~talk~] 14:16, October 30, 2009 (UTC)
- Ok, I didn't know, it's true that the three are very similar =). For Sarge, I don't know also that was the nickname of sergeant, hehe, already that English is hard sometimes, if you have more tricks ^^. See you soon my friend and sorry about all these problems =) ! Itachou [~talk~] 21:10, October 30, 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Call of Pripyat.
Just wanted to say thank you for the English translation. Very, very nice work. Pararaptor 08:37, November 4, 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Great War and The Greys
Serious question: Do we disregard the Zeta content because it's so silly? Do we ignore it and pretend it didn't happen? Do we put a canon warning up like we do for BOS? Do we put the "info" on another page and link to it?--Gothemasticator 09:01, November 8, 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Airplanes
Check out Divergence: Arms and equipment. The third paragraph is all about aircraft. A lot of it looks like speculation and guesswork to me, but I don't know squat about planes, so I am hesitant to remove accurate and useful info. If it is all legit info, maybe there are some links to source material that would help?--Gothemasticator 22:45, November 8, 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, my bad. Thanks for catching my mistake.--Gothemasticator 17:39, November 22, 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Mechanist/AntAgonizer
I don't think this move makes much sense, personally. I'd move these back. Partial names should be moved to full names, but if a character is widely known under a pseudonym, like Master or Mechanist, they should stay there. Ausir(talk) 13:15, November 24, 2009 (UTC)
- For me it's more like with the Master, who chose to use a pseudonym instead of his real name, just like these two. Ausir(talk) 14:42, November 24, 2009 (UTC)
- I don't mind that "AntAgonizer" redirects, because searching for "AntAgonizer" dumps me directly on the "Tanya Christoff" page. However, searching for "Antagonizer" dumps me here, which is no fun. Can the misspelling be redirected to take me directly to Tanya Christoff? (And I wouldn't mind being taught to do it myself.)--Gothemasticator 20:17, November 27, 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Derelict Vehicles PNG is corrupted

[edit] Great War Aliens Section
So, Grizzly, it seems to me that we need an actual policy regarding the "info" from Mothership Zeta. Stupid? Agreed. However, twice now you have removed article info validly gathered in-game by a prolific contributor to the wiki Great War. If we want to slap a canonicity tag on Mothership Zeta stuff, fine. But I don't think that we (a wiki about the Fallout games) can just ignore stuff presented in-game.--Gothemasticator 10:02, December 3, 2009 (UTC)
- All right, so help me out. (I don't have Zeta installed, so I'm relying on second-hand info.)
- Is Alien Captive Recorded Log #17 the only source for the theory that aliens intervened in the beginning of the Great War? If so, then the theory has no basis, since the Log entry is inconclusive and lacking in detail.
- Are there other places on the wiki besides the 'Behind the scenes' section of the Alien Captive Recorded Log page that include language connecting the aliens to the Great War? That trivia entry is easily edited out. But I'd like to know if there are more, for consistency's sake.
- Thanks.--Gothemasticator 11:33, December 3, 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Conspiracy Quashed
Okay. Offending entry removed.--Gothemasticator 11:38, December 3, 2009 (UTC)
Can you check the background article of Nuka-Cola Quantum and tell me if it is up to standards please? --Vault4 12:01, December 7, 2009 (UTC)[edit] VC Guards
I think putting them side by side would look better than on top of each other. Ausir(talk) 15:36, December 10, 2009 (UTC)
[edit] RE:wat
You can show me the 17th century account of when Andrew Endicott was abducted by aliens? I don't like it either, but it's Bethesda's canon now...
Although I do admit I'm wrong on the YK42B. Nitty Tok. 14:53, December 13, 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Vault City
On Fallout 2, should all the Vault City residents have an inventory box?--Vault4 17:05, December 16, 2009 (UTC)
Does it matter if I do not know what should go in the boxes? Should I still create them?--Vault4 15:49, December 17, 2009 (UTC)
