Messed up FNV location navbox

Hey Avatar, I just added Cottonwood Cove shack to locations but the FNV location navbox is messed up at the individual locations. Behind Crimson Caravan it's all italics. Can't figure it out (probably been too long editing today). Can you? Greets, Jspoelstra 03:27, March 21, 2011 (UTC) Found it! Forgot a '' behind the shack...

Vault Boy

Hello my friend ;)

Hey hey new talk page! Yes sorry, I always remove the "desc" section for remplace it by the "px" section, I confess is not good. For the 1st image I think we agree, It should be the 1st appearance of the game, since there are still many people playing the game and they consider them as the only "true" Fallout (Fallout and Fallout 2), in addition that information on the perk first begins with this games.

But you're not wrong, anyone seeking a perk and falling on the image of a previous game that can ask questions. So well, yes, although I find it's a pity because distort a little the image but I think I can put the first game appearance like "Fallout" in the "desc" but all games - "Fallout", "Fallout 2" and "Fallout Tactics" sounds too big not ^^? Itachou [~talk~] 17:12, March 21, 2011 (UTC)

Finally, I think people see below the image in the Template the games "Fallout", "Fallout 2" etc. should be fix not? What do you think? Ha also, all same perk of Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics have also the same image. Itachou [~talk~] 17:15, March 21, 2011 (UTC)

Good idea ;), but the text seems a bit long no? Why not "First Image" or "First appearance" or "First appears"? Whad do you think my friend? Itachou [~talk~] 17:25, March 21, 2011 (UTC)

Allright my friend =), just I change " Perk image " for " Vault Boy image ", sounds more Falloutish and it will avoid confusion Vault Boy - Pip Boy, is not it ^^!
Glad you always pay attention to everything. Nice evening my friend and see soon ;)! Itachou [~talk~] 17:42, March 21, 2011 (UTC)

Character overview page

Porter has agreed with a merge on the FNV character overview page, so I did that. I have 3 variants of red crosses now. I have placed the darkest one on the overview page, the lightest and 'in between' one in my sandbox. I think it's either the current one or the in between version. That's because Porter wants to replace the current red cross template with the new red cross and I think the top one in my sandbox is too light for the interaction box. What do you say? Jspoelstra 17:35, March 22, 2011 (UTC)

Looks fine to me - only noticed one minor thing: The year is missing in the intro ("... in the Mojave Wasteland of 2281"). -- Porter21 (talk) 16:09, March 23, 2011 (UTC)

Joshua Graham

Here. Probably could have asked before reverting. I'm not sure why you find Bible quotes so terrifying on pages. And I don't know why you're so surprised that there was one on Joshua Graham's page, him being a Mormon and all. --Flower of Pock-Lips 08:52, March 24, 2011 (UTC)

Hey, busy guy. You've been doing a whole lot around here, and I just wanted to say thanks. Cheers.--Gothemasticator 05:10, March 27, 2011 (UTC)

  • Yes, same here. The quality of the Fallout 3/FNV world object page has improved very nicely thanks to you (I'm a little sad though about my Hula girl being replaced ;)). Sure you don't want to be an admin? I'm experiencing it's not that hard. I'm not getting overwhelmed with questions from newbies, keeping an eye out for vandals goes naturally, since you're much online anyway, and it's handy to be able to delete, to keep things clean. JspoelUser Jspoel Vaultboy 16:33, March 27, 2011 (UTC)
  • I have changed a note on DPS someone added to the CZ57 Avenger page. Can you check if it's any good?

Mr. Bishop

Yeah, it's clearly meant to be the same character. Both the FO2 ending and FNV dialogue refer to him as a head of the Bishop family who knows the Wasteland like the back of his own hand, so it's a pretty clear reference. While the Wrights are said to be in control of New Reno by the time of FNV, it doesn't conflict with the FO2 ending, as the balance of power in the city could have changed by then. Ausir(talk) 19:12, March 27, 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for deleting everything I try to post. I assume you spend your days on a keyboard because you're always on here editing things people try to contribute. The information I gave is accurate, and the pictures were proof yet you either don't like me, or the fact that you're wrong. Like it or not the Console Commands exist for people to use them however they see fit, otherwise the developers would have made them for their eyes only. People have the right to know they can use Console Commands to obtain items from Fallout 3 and use them in Fallout New Vegas. It's not cheating either, just using what you like. I don't know if people are too afraid to stand up to you or whatever because you're friends with the admins, but it's a game dude, you don't have to control the Fallout Wiki, it's for EVERYONE to enjoy, use and add to.

Thanks for the sweet layout dude. Keep pushin my buttons. Oh, and I read what you're reffering to. You just have a god complex.

Thanks for the awesome Layout buddy.

Why would you call yourself that? Did you see your name on my blog? Because I didn't. I didn't name anyone, I may have hinted but I never listed a name. And yes I do realize everyone can see it. I'm just showing you, that you're not as smart as you think you are. Stop trying to control everything.

Rebel AE

I think it's quite humorous how you and Rebel AE keep going back and forth with you always winning the standoff. I also like how you are civil and he is still insulting and being an overall pain. I love it! Best regards, Kastera (talk) 13:10, March 28, 2011 (UTC)

Winning what stand off? I've already beat him with words, his only vice is the Wiki Codes he so enjoys trying to recite word for word like a good little soldier in white.

Never mind; I'm not getting sucked into this as well. P.S. You should remember to sign your posts with ~~~~. Best regards, Kastera (talk) 23:04, March 28, 2011 (UTC)

NPC Infobox

Thanks for that additional information. It's good to see you're entering the hallowed halls of adminship; you always know how things work around here. Since I haven't formally said it before, here it is: Thank you for all the work you have done for The Vault and I hope continue adding to it in the future. You are an excellent member and are always open to answer questions. I know it may not sound as good coming from a non-admin; but, hey, it's the thought that counts, right? Best regards, Kastera (talk) 23:23, March 28, 2011 (UTC)

Rebel AE

I've done some admin stuff on your posts with rebel AE and have given him some time to cool off. His side-note I kinda agreed with, to be honest. I'm not that fond of the veteran ranger giving the finger. I'd rather have that you remove it. Greets and good luck on your adminship request! JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 00:05, March 29, 2011 (UTC)

  • I noticed his quest line, but found it not too bothering to me (yet). If he keeps annoying us, it's about three or four strikes and he's out anyway.

The decimals on the weapon's weight in New Vegas: is this necessary?

Just a question: do we need the decimal on the weapons weight in New Vegas? Thanks! -MickeyHikaruMouse March 28, 2011 19:09 (7:09 pm) (UTC)

  • I'm forwarding the above post to you, Avatar. Since you're the man of the weapon pages, I thought you would know best. Ok, then I'm reverting his decimal edits (maybe you can help).
  • Finally! I found out where you live (I think). Must be England then. Always thought it was America, East-coast. London?
  • And can you check his older edits? He also added mod boxes to weapon pages where they aren't needed because the mod is displayed properly. JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 02:16, March 29, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the tips! Boone123 20:17, March 30, 2011 (UTC)

Cass's moonshine

Hello there! Same problem with Cass's moonshine as with Rose's wasteland omelet. Cass's moonshine is only the recipe which produces the Moonshine consumable item. I have edited the moonshine page, hope it's ok. Please, do the required redirects. Also, I'm not sure if the name on the crafting page should be changed. Thanks! :) GobTheGoul 22:40, March 30, 2011 (UTC)

Finally, hehe... you were pretty busy lately. GobTheGoul 00:13, April 6, 2011 (UTC)

Tesla Cannon

Oh, I was just going to ask you to add some info to the Tesla cannon (Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel 2) page, but I see you already did. Where did you get that info so fast? JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 22:43, April 1, 2011 (UTC)

  • Yesss, I remember that little incident with another .pdf file some time ago (I'm sure you do too), and when you posted him about how to code it. I caught that post and learned another thing.
  • I've changed my Vault Boy image to link to my talk-page. I like the little guy, it's a present for my adminship from Ghouly. By the way, uploading that .pdf file is taking forever. I wouldn't be surprised if I get some errors on the end of the upload. If it's not there soon, maybe you can give it a try. I'm sure you can find it on the internet. Good, I've given up :(
  • Mmm, a pity. I thought it was kinda a neat for users to be able to download it. Maybe Ausir's has an answer, until then, I'd leave the link be.
  • I don't like how this is going so I'm making an extra effort. Uploaded the 33 .jpg images and improved the quality of 4 of them (to try out). Then inserted those 4 into Word (ratio 21 to 29,7). Then converted them to a pdf-file with PDF Creator. I'm getting very good results, 4 pages, a few 100kb. This will work I think. JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 01:13, April 2, 2011 (UTC)
  • Thx, I knew there had to be a solution, just took me some time to figure it out. I couldn't prevent some quality loss though. That's why I'm not replacing the .jpg files. The images are better, but the text in my photo-shopped images is of less quality. Unless you have an idea..

Now that you're an admin, I can report this to you. Can you block "Corleone Badass". He created a page that means nothing and it blatant vandalism. Best regards, Kastera (talk) 17:48, April 2, 2011 (UTC)

  • Disregard that last message; Jspoel already took care of it. -Kastera
  • What a coincidence; I tell you to disregard the message right as you send me another message telling me what I was telling you. What fun!

Someone ( blatantly vandalized my userpage. He deleted lots of stuff and replaced it with harassing material. Please help. gears of duty

It's another unregistered gun nut complaining about not being able to put references to the BAR in the Automatic Rifle article. We really need to see about locking certain articles to anons. Great Mara 21:27, April 2, 2011 (UTC)

Just the kinds what the world needs: assholes thinking they can add tag "not needed" to every single little contribution. Fuck you.

Yes, I was looking at him right this moment. But I can't prove for a fact it was him (though it's very, very likely of course). One day left, then you can make work of these things yourself! JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 00:07, April 3, 2011 (UTC)

Whoa. I have honestly no idea what happened to the page. All I thought I did was take out a part where an editor was giving out strategy. After that I noticed the page needed a shot of the exterior so I put up an {{image}} tag. At least that's what I thought I did. I've been looking through the page history and haven't a clue how that happened. Best regards, Kastera (talk) 16:11, April 3, 2011 (UTC)

I guess everyone can make a few mistakes once in a while, ,so long as it's not all they do. :)

Gambler suit

Avatar, how do you create those armor and clothing images (character with the arms spread)?. I've tried opening a nif-file but there's blood on the arms and legs and the head's cut off :S. JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 22:45, April 3, 2011 (UTC)

  • Thanks! I'll give it a try on the shabby gambler suit. With smooth, you mean. Setting 2?

Thanks man, good to know.(Nemerian 15:05, April 5, 2011 (UTC))

They're taking their sweet time, aren't they, promoting you to admin ;) Nice images by the way! Greets, JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 17:19, April 5, 2011 (UTC)

The policy guide you sent me states that it is NOT a 'Required' aspect to have 'Related quests' on a web page. User:Bobbyb373 18:39, April 5, 2011 (UTC)

Related Quests

If I remember correctly we had a discussion about this awhile back and we made it not required as it is a duplicate section. The same info is in the infobox and to me it seems redundant as well.--Kingclyde 17:58, April 5, 2011 (UTC)

I sent a message to Gothemasticator. I am going to see if we can get that policy updated because it is redundant and the discussion we had awhile back was to NPC articles. Thanks. Also let me know what your opinion is in this matter.--Kingclyde 18:06, April 5, 2011 (UTC)

Gambler hats

Ok, you have surpassed me in quality. Do you know what I should do with the Roving trader outfit? There are 2, Roving trader outfit and Roving trader outfit (Fallout: New Vegas). The first with Fallout 3 and New Vegas info, the second one with just New Vegas info. JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 22:35, April 5, 2011 (UTC)

Identical images

Just a quick question out of curiosity. Why are some of the new images uploaded twice? I mean those that are identical and have the same hash, not those that are just slightly different. :) GobTheGoul 03:37, April 6, 2011 (UTC)

These are those that I found so far on the last 2 pages of contributions: NCR Ranger patrol armor, Tinted reading glasses, Raider psycho-tic helmet, Pre-War baseball cap, Kid's baseball cap, Raider Wastehound Helmet. Could be an upload error? Because they have the same upload time. (I don't know how to make the links to open directly to image details, as on contributions page). GobTheGoul 04:27, April 6, 2011 (UTC)
Can't they be deleted somehow? GobTheGoul 05:13, April 6, 2011 (UTC)

That tip sure will come in handy. Best regards gears of duty

Yes, that does look kinda bad, doesn't it. No reference. Mmm, now I see this I like the one with the flesh better. Maybe we could leave the ones where it's neccessary to have a reference point in the flesh, and remove the flesh from the images where it's not needed (like the merc grunt outfit). Or try out just removing the flesh around the neck part (that looks most ugly, so to speak). By the way, if you want to replace those outfit images, that's fine. I just wanted to try out a few and found it be fun and wanted to have the experience. And congrats on your adminship! Greets, JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 20:46, April 7, 2011 (UTC)

I disagree. It looks better without the flesh, as having headless and often handless bodies in the infobox looks creepy. I believe you should either have the armour AND the entire body, complete with a head, displayed, or just the armour. Can't you use a dummy head for example?

Edit: Upon closer inspection, the fleshless model does indeed look better. Remember, the human brain works by associating, so someone looking at the image would automatically see how they fit, rather than floating pieces of leather. Try it out yourself, without being prejudiced towards the image. Personal_Sig_Image.gif Tagaziel (call!) 21:00, April 7, 2011 (UTC)

  • Maybe we should make it a forum page, with examples. I'm still unsure what's best.
  • Yes, I think that's best. This is a major decision with so many armor and clothing pages. Best to make a well-weighed choice. Tomorrow I'll get back to you on the subject. Thanks for all the work. Greets, JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 22:25, April 7, 2011 (UTC)
  • That last image, can you create that one in the flesh? (You did one earlier today without the hands, now with the hands if you can), for comparison.
  • Thx. We can use em for the forum page. Tomorrow (if you're online) I'll probably ask you to recreate some outfit images I made earlier today, in the new style.

Armor goodness

I really like the one on the Legion_explorer_armor page.--Gothemasticator 20:42, April 8, 2011 (UTC)

You recently deleted my page

Why did you delete my page that had information on abbreviations that aren't commonly known to new people to the fallout series?

Outfit images

Gothemasticator likes the Legion Explorer infobox image, but I'm not convinced yet and still like for it to become a forum page. Can you upload the Merc cruiser outfit, male/female (good example I think) in the current Legion Explorer style, in the all flesh style, in the fleshless style and in the current style (last one for good quality comparison). So that's 4 images. Maybe you can think of one more. That my request for now. Greets, JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 13:03, April 9, 2011 (UTC)

  • And the Prospector outfit (for fleshless leg comparison)
  • No, I meant the merc cruiser outfit image as it is currently in use on the Merc outfit (Fallout: New Vegas) page. So with the head cut off (then there's the advantage of the image being displayed larger in the infobox). I have made those outfit images using nifskope, not the GECK.
    • And could add the female too ? :) Yesss, and if it's not too much trouble I would like all 4 images with a male/female next to each other.
I like the no texture version with its mannequin look. Ausir(talk) 00:21, April 10, 2011 (UTC)

Haha. I protected the page instead of disabling commenting as I intended to do. Thanks for informing me. It's what I get for editing tired.--Gothemasticator 20:25, April 9, 2011 (UTC)

Oh, sorry about that; it's kind of hard to know that the IP is wrong since it's just a random stream of numbers. I'll try to more cautious of my copy/pasting in the future. Best regards, Kastera (talk) 01:58, April 10, 2011 (UTC)

I've seen your edits to the minigun pages and I very much disagree with them. There is no "CZ53", "CZ53 Avenger", "CZ57" and "CZ57 Avenger". For me it's very clear that despite the visual differences in the model, the CZ57 Avenger is meant to represent the same Avenger minigun as the one in Fallout 2 and Tactics (and it looks quite different in Tactics from the FO2 model too), and by extension the regular minigun from FO3 and FNV is meant to be the CZ53. "CZ57" is simply the designation of the Avenger, I don't see how it would make sense any other way - it's just a visual retcon like with the Advanced Power Armor Mk II, for example. Ausir(talk) 16:24, April 10, 2011 (UTC)

I don't really recall the cattle prod conversation. Anyway, for me, it's entirely clear. Given that the Avenger is said in FO2 to have been made as a replacement for the CZ53, and that the one in FNV is named CZ57 Avenger, I don't see how they could be different - we simply weren't given the full designation of the weapon before. For me, assuming the existence of a "CZ53 Avenger" is much more speculative - given that the Avenger was a replacement for the CZ53, I don't see how it could be a "CZ53". There are slight visual differences, but not the differences aren't that great either.
As for CZ53 and the FO3 minigun being the same, it's a bit less "proven", but I think it makes sense given that in FNV it's shown to have the same basic design as that game's version of Avenger - same as in Fallout 2, despite the visual differences between games. So it's pretty much clear that it's the gun that the CZ57 Avenger was designed to replace - i.e. the CZ53. We can note that there have been at least two models in both the CZ53 and the CZ57 line, but generally I don't see how they couldn't be the same weapons. Ausir(talk) 17:20, April 10, 2011 (UTC)
I just asked Sawyer and he confirmed my assumptions. The dev team had limited resources and so they didn't have time to make an Avenger model identical to the FO2 one, so they had to make do with a visual retcon. But yeah, it's supposed to be the same gun. Ausir(talk) 17:25, April 10, 2011 (UTC)
I asked about it privately, so nope. But I'll also post the same question at his Formspring, maybe he'll answer there and we'll have a linkable confirmation. I'm not a fan of visual retcons (nor retcons of any other kind) either, but in a long franchise like this they're bound to happen from time to time. Ausir(talk) 17:39, April 10, 2011 (UTC)
There's enough space to include both, and given the redesign, I think it's best to include them, in order not to confuse readers who are only familiar with the later version. Ausir(talk) 17:50, April 10, 2011 (UTC)
Here. Ausir(talk) 23:06, April 11, 2011 (UTC)
Given that it's the most common minigun model, just like the CZ53 in FO1 and 2, I'd say that it's safe to assume that it's that, rather than an obscure model from Van Buren. VB was going to only feature the older CZ25 and T-45d models in the tutorial/demo, with the CZ53 still being the "default" minigun in the actual game. Ausir(talk) 21:52, April 12, 2011 (UTC)

I read your remark on the location overview page. I was the one who moved Crimson Caravan Company and Black Mountain to major faction locations. Did the same thing to the navbox because I like seeing the factions together. But you can hold me to the policy and move it back. On another note, don't you want the admin template on your userpage? And can you remove the veteran ranger image? People may get the wrong idea on what's allowed for a userpage if and admin has it on his. Greetings, JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 22:31, April 10, 2011 (UTC)

Your message

Dear Ghost, While I can see that you obviously genuinly care for the upkeep of the site, I too share the determmination to keep the Wiki at it's upmost state. I simply alerted Yakov of the issues he was causing and being polite as possible as I did it. Your message is directed to both of us and while I do not makie a habit of doing this, I believe it is unnecessary to have been sent to me, as I was simply stating my observations and the feedback given to me from friends who came as Anons. While I understand the need to keep people in check, Yakov is the one always casuing problems. I am just trying my best to help for the greater cause of the Wiki. Yakov doesn't even try to follow the Wiki Policies. I on the other hand, try my best. I have made great improvements on this since I was blocked for breaking policy about inappropriate language usage. Thanks for your time, --ZERO 19:50, April 13, 2011 (UTC)

Weapon pages

I see you're taking good care of 'your' weapon pages (12.7mm pistol). I was wondering, how did you make the mannequin model for the armor and clothing image forum. Photoshop? Greets, JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 23:27, April 14, 2011 (UTC)

  • Quick other question: Holy Frag Grenade, does that need to be all caps?
  • Yes, the white skin texture, how did you do that? And the FNV Alien blaster is called unique on its page. Why isn't it all caps?

But the bible quote is the origin of all the pop culture instances. So, following our pattern of listing primary sources, I think the bible origin should stay on the page. Unless there is some other detail to link the phrase to Dr. Who or any other secondary source, the primary source should stay.--Gothemasticator 04:27, April 15, 2011 (UTC)

Hey dude i have a question. Did you ever receive a error when starting up Fallout 3 or Fallout: new Vegas that said "This file has caused runtime to terminate in an unusual way"? and if so, how to fix? Thanks(Nemerian 15:00, April 15, 2011 (UTC))

Decimals again

There is a good editor on our wiki, but he likes to put unnecessary zero decimals on items weight. You have talked with him twice about this matter and so did I, but he gave me no answer. Now he's starting to edit the tables too. In the end, how we should handle the zero decimals? I consider those zeros distracting, especially for people with visual memory.

And another thing. I wonder how this editor has contributed to that project? Is he allowed to put his name there? GobTheGoul 22:48, April 15, 2011 (UTC)

Yes, I doubted between undoing it or rewriting it for the same reason you just gave me. You can remove it if you want, I'd have no problem with it. Tomorrow I'll ask Ausir/Gothh to make a final decision on the armor and clothing image format, so you can start replacing images. JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 23:22, April 16, 2011 (UTC)

Hey avatar, I was just wondering if you could take a look at the photos I've taken so far (on my profile page) and tell me what you think of them. When I get my DLC disk working, I'll take a photo tour of Point Lookout's landmarks. --Valoopy

Well I do have larger images (the file names say reduced) but I figured they would be obnoxiously large. How would jpegs help? I'm not that good at technical stuff, lol. Oh and that video on your page is sweet! I want it! --Valoopy

Wow. That was a LOT of helpful info. So from now on, I'll not reduce and save as .jpg's. But, unfortunately, I'm waaay too lazy to FIX the ones I've already done. Anyway, thanks (this is the second time I've told you this word?) for your help, I'll do that in the future! --Valoopy

Armor and clothing forum

Ausir has given his final verdict. You can start replacing images if you want. I was thinking, can you adjust the angle of the arms (closer to the body)?. If not, let them cross each other, the hand close to the other model. Otherwise the image becomes too small. JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 15:30, April 18, 2011 (UTC)

  • That's a bit of a shame. The image becomes a bit small with two models in em, and more if the arms are so wide spread. Well, maybe you can think of something else, otherwise just make them with their arms spread like that.

There's not much that I notice I can actually edit around here that hasn't already been done. Is the red Brotherhood of Steel flag used anywhere in Fallout: New Vegas? If not, I'd revert the image used in the NCR-Brotherhood War article, as this flag might only be in use in the Capital Wasteland Brotherhood. Ausir(talk) @fandom 02:41, April 22, 2011 (UTC)

  • That's a good idea. This was a nice start.
  • Seems like a lot of work to me, but is worth the time investment I think. Overview weapon pages are good pages to begin with. Think Porter will feel the same.

In my opinion, I think it is a little bit necessary say that you can only get the weapon after the patch is installed because the player might not want to check the patches page and he might just want a weapon which it is in a safehouse (e.g chainsaw in the Legion safehouse) but he dosen't have the patch installed. He will then not know that he won't be able to get the weapon in the safehouse. This also happened with me :). Mario479 18:47, April 23, 2011 (UTC)

Based on my reading on GECK, Recipes - Ruby's spicy casserole appears to be cut content as it doesn't appear in game, just in some scripts that are also not used in game. Since you appear to be a GECK expert, can you please confirm and mark the article as such if I'm correct? This recipe shouldn't be included in crafting categories if you can never get it in-game.

FNV creatures project and achievements

I think it would be a good idea to start a project focusing on converting all the Fallout: New Vegas creature pages into the new layout and templates. Additionally, I was thinking of setting up a category-specific achievement tracks, with special achievements for editing pages in the FNV creatures category. I think it would be a good test of whether achievements encourage more active participation. What do you think? Ausir(talk) @fandom 08:56, April 25, 2011 (UTC)

I was thinking of doing a category track only for FNV creatures now, maybe for FO3 ones too either at the same time or after that one (they have to be separate for each category). And later for FO1/2 too, after I look into which stats are relevant more closely (consult it with some FO1/2 modders).
As for your ideas, unfortunately the only new achievements we can add for now is category-specific edit tracks. Ausir(talk) @fandom 18:10, April 25, 2011 (UTC)
So, FO3 and FNV creatures for now? My idea for the category edit tracks:
  • Raven Hunter
  • Coyote Hunter
  • Bark Scorpion Hunter
  • Bighorner Hunter
  • Lakelurk Hunter
  • Nightstalker Hunter
  • Cazador Hunter
  • Legendary Deathclaw Hunter
  • Iguana Hunter
  • Radroach Hunter
  • Molerat Hunter
  • Mirelurk Hunter
  • Feral Ghoul Hunter
  • Fire Ant Hunter
  • Yao Guai Hunter
  • Deathclaw Hunter

Hey, I'm new to this wiki and I noticed your awesome background and I was wondering how did you set it up?--Funnytown01 15:56, April 26, 2011 (UTC)

Creature images

Don't you think NPC and creature images should be dynamic, mobile, rather than static? I love the quality, but your image of the feral ghoul is less informative than an in-action shot, since it omits the creature's default stance and shape. Personally, I'd add the 3D model view in the notes section (while adding back and side shots for reference) and keep a dynamic shot as the main one. Just a thought. Oh, I see, just used the preview and didn't try to submit the changes. Thanks! GobTheGoul 21:26, April 26, 2011 (UTC)

It's ok if I calculate the number of rounds fired before breaking with this formula: Weapon HP divided by 0.2 ? Because in the 9mm SMG article it was 2244 rounds for 450 HP, and with the above formula it should have been 2250. Am I missing something? Well, I suppose we can extract 1 round because it says before breaking. GobTheGoul 22:44, April 26, 2011 (UTC)

So it's ok to use the results from that formula? Don't think that somebody will test it in game, and who will shoot his gun until it brakes? lol GobTheGoul 23:04, April 26, 2011 (UTC)

Experience points on creature pages

Hi there! I see in the Template:Stats creature FNV that there is an XP parameter, which is optional, and actually missing on many pages but it still shows some values for experience points. For example, on Cazador page is listed 180 xp for cazador and 120 xp for young cazador. I tested in-game and only got 55 xp for both of them. Do you know were those values come from and were I can find them in GECK? Looks like I am missing something, again! :D Thanks! --GobTheGoul 00:33, April 28, 2011 (UTC)

Re: Not a bug

I was suspecting something like that, but what made me thing this was a but is the fact that his userpage doesn't show his join date, meaning that he's technically not registered. Fortunately Wikia has already fixed the problem where those users couldn't be blocked, otherwise this guy could get me in a lot of trouble :)

I sent a message to Wikia, asking them to give the account a permaban, so I can rest easy, especially since I'm not going to have internet access all weekend (in fact, I'm going off line in about a minute) and I'd have no idea what this guy was doing.

Anyway, thanks for filling me in on what was causing this phenomenon :) Cheers --Anon(Talk) 23:51, April 29, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for keeping an eye on my account, this made my weekend much more relaxing :)
Also, while I've been away, I figured out who the guy was. This is the same guy who's been impersonating Lancer1289. He has vandalized countless wikis under Lancer's name, and I've been helping to clean-up his vandalism since Thursday. Apparently he didn't like that, so he tried to impersonate me. Fortunatelly he stopped at that one account and didn't try to blemish my name any further :)
Thanks again. Cheers --Anon(Talk) 19:51, May 2, 2011 (UTC)
Apparently the guy's using proxies, so IP blocks don't stop him. Preventing users from registering accounts with non-standard symbols would slow him down, but that could also hurt a lot of wikis in other languages, so that's probably why wikia hasn't done it yet.
I guess, we'll just have to tough it out, hopefully he'll get bored soon. --Anon(Talk) 20:04, May 2, 2011 (UTC)

Yes, I read your interesting story about it on his talkpage. It would be a coincidence if they tried it again, don't you think? Well, anyway, we always need to be on the lookout for strange and unwanted things.

James, he is my favorite character and I was hoping if you could get full body shots of James (caucasion version) during Baby Steps, Growing Up, and the Water's of Life? He is different throughout each time and I was really hoping you could do that. if not, that's all right. Well, thank you for listening and keep up the good work!

Alien page

Avatar, why did you add a creature project tag to Alien (Fallout: New Vegas)? On the project page it says that the Alien page is not part of the project, so I take it the New Vegas alien isn't either. JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 22:33, May 1, 2011 (UTC)

Delete blog post

Ghostavatar, can you do me a favour? I have accidently published two copies of a same blog post. Can you delete of them for me (as you are an adminstrator)? See my blog page in my user page so that you can see the title of the blog post. Sorry for the inconvenience. P.S. One of the blog posts have the answer of the question I have asked in it. Delete the one without any answer. Mario479 22:43, May 1, 2011 (UTC)

Icon images

Working on my quests for images of misc items, I was just wondering what program(s) & settings you've been using. I haven't figured out how to get the outline to work properly. Thanks, Canti-sama(talk) 17:52, May 2, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks, you pointed me in the needed direction. I managed to figure it out in Gimp. Also, the categories for FO3 & FNV misc item icons need to be created now that I'm doing that. =P Canti-sama(talk) 19:33, May 2, 2011 (UTC)
