Welcome to our Fallout wiki, and thank you for your contributions! There's a lot to do around here, so I hope you'll stay with us and make many more improvements.
Recent changes is a great first stop, because you can see what other people are editing right this minute, and where you can help.
If you haven't already, create a user page about yourself! If you do, we'll be able to know you better as a member of our community.
Questions? You can ask in the Forum or on the "discussion" page associated with each article, or post a message on my talk page!
Need help? The Help page has an outline of the site, and pages to help you learn how to edit. See the Vault's Policy page for general guidelines and code of conduct.
I'm really happy to have you here, and look forward to working with you!
Well, as you can probably see, our coverage of Fallout 3 is quite thorough nowadays, but we're still missing quite a lot of info about Fallout 1 and 2 (people generally tend to have more motivation for writing about a newer game). So editors who contribute to FO1 and 2 articles are always welcome. Ausir 23:40, 10 February 2009 (UTC) :)
Thanks for filling out the infoboxes for Optimize the powerplant and Solve the Gecko powerplant problem :) Just a little hint, please remember to remove {{Incomplete}} from an article when you've filled out the infobox. // Porter21U | T 08:17, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
The "desc" field is for image description. Ausir 17:07, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
The guide was written by Per Jorner, one of the admins of No Mutants Allowed. He gave Ausir permission to add it to the wiki; I'm simply the guy who converted it to wiki syntax, I didn't write it :-) // Porter21U | T 07:06, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
No problem :) The Games template adds the game symbol in the upper right corner of a page (right under the "Article" and "Discussion" tabs, i.e. {{Games|FO2}} adds the Fallout 2 symbol. We use it to allow users to see at a quick glance which games/sources the information in an article comes from or relates to. It can be used for multiple games as well (e.g. {{Games|FO1|FO2}} would add both the Fallout and Fallout 2 symbols); the list of all the abbreviations can be seen at the template page I linked above. -- Porter21(talk) 22:26, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
It only works with the Monaco skin as far as I know. -- Porter21(talk) 22:30, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
I am myself not knowledgable enough about the situation to actually motivate it, but as Kastera already removed it, I'm sure he had his reasons, and I trust him more than you. You should contact him before you go about putting that again. Hugs Scar:"Say 'ello to my little friend!" 21:58, July 24, 2011 (UTC)
I removed it because the quotes are somewhat similar on the surface, but in reality, not very close. Liberty's "Freedom is the sovereign right of every American" and Optimus' "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings" contain some of the same words, but ultimately are too different to have any correlation. --Kastera(talk) 22:31, July 24, 2011 (UTC)
No need to apologize buddy. We're all equal here at The Vault; some of us are just trusted more than others :). Kastera(talk) 22:58, July 24, 2011 (UTC)
Hmmm... I've done that one particular part dozens of times and never have James or Li or any of the others been within range of the Super-mutants nearby, it may be a bug. -bleep196- 20:23, August 12, 2011 (UTC)
Neither have I, but I have a theory, and that is that the mutants react, not to the scientist's, but to the player's proximity, and if the scientists are in the proximity of the player as he/she is discovered, they're unfortunatly in the combat too. This might occur if you, say, walks with them all the way to the project and erring to close to the mutant encampment. I might be critically wrong, this is just a theory, and an explanation as to why I haven't encountered it, as I always stay away from that camp for this very reason, and sometimes even fast travel to the project. Hugs Scar:"Say 'ello to my little friend!" 20:27, August 12, 2011 (UTC)
Ok then it is a bug, since it seems the entire spawn was bugged for you then that means that entire portion of the quest was bugged, i'd go ahead and move that to the Bug's section. -bleep196- 20:29, August 12, 2011 (UTC)
Reverted your edit again, it contained too much strategy (how to get power armor the easy way). And mind your spelling, it's Waters of Life, not Water of Life. Jspoel 17:50, December 11, 2011 (UTC)
I've fixed these errors then, thank you for explaining. DoreikuKuroofangu 17:53, December 11, 2011 (UTC)
If someone says his name (I think it is John Henry Eden), then yes, you can create the page. Note that he appears as an Enclave officer, so write that as well. Though I recommend that you first use the GECK or ask someone else about it. MysteryStranger: Trust in the power of Infinity! 21:17, December 19, 2011 (UTC)
Apologies, I don't know how to use the GECK. I'll create the page to the best of my abilities though, I'm familiar with Wiki coding so it should be acceptable. DoreikuKuroofangu 21:22, December 19, 2011 (UTC)
This is a wiki of facts. This is not a wiki of speculation. If you're going to add information, please make sure it is set in stone. These are our rules, I am just making sure they are respected. Might be a good idea to take a look at our policies and guidelines eh? Thanks. -ΣΔLet's talk! 22:33, February 28, 2012 (UTC)
That sort of thing needs a citation like the rest of the weapon pages with Behind the Scenes sections. Message 22:36, February 28, 2012 (UTC)
We only let confirmed references, or "inspirations" to stay. These are placed in the behind the scenes section. (Guidelines says it all, I'm just relaying the information.) If you have dev confirmation of your reference, then you are free to add it. Your wording is just fine. -ΣΔLet's talk! 22:36, February 28, 2012 (UTC)
Remember to reference it though ;) The Australian Kiwi 22:39, February 28, 2012 (UTC)

Yes, it is known that Wikia has a software error and is working to fix it now. --Skire (talk) 17:42, June 28, 2012 (UTC)
It affects the large infoboxes and so will be quite an annoyance. Apparently it was caused by an attempted upgrade in the MediaWiki software for our site. --Skire (talk) 17:45, June 28, 2012 (UTC)
It appears I did. Sometimes when patrolling I read things too fast. I have rectified it, as well as giving it it's own bullet point. Thanks for taking the time to point it out. I appreciate it. Happy editing! nihil novi sub sole 19:02, March 29, 2013 (UTC)
