Harold and Twin MothersEdit

He is from Vault 29 and Twin Mothers is Vault 29. I got a more detailed explanation from John Deiley and will post it here soon. And he knows Diana from the old times, even if his memory isn't as good as it used to be (which is why he got to Twin Mothers by random wandering and why he initially didn't recognize it as his old home). Ausir 20:34, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

Poor memory is quite good explanation. dotz 22:13, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

He didn't even remember where his vault was in FO1:

{120}{}{Where was your Vault located?} {122}{HROLD6}{You know, [cough] I'm not real sure anymore. West, I think. Uh wait - east? Ooh I don't know. [Hacking cough]}

Ausir 06:30, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

Significant is, that Harold in his dialog file reffers some lack of equipment or food problems also. It was feature of Vault 27. Katharina in Shady Sands told something similar about Vault 15. It seems to be more common problem or something like topos in literature. dotz

This is what I got from Deiley about Vault 29, Diana and Harold:

As for the cure [to the New Plague], it was to be genetically engineered by Diana after she did a complete scan of the sample she took from Harold.
As for Vault 29 [and the description in Fallout Bible] ... it's a bit of a misdirection on the part of Diana.
The vault was populated by older parents with infant children. However, Diana didn't want people to put 2 + 2 together and wonder if the children were going to be old enough to take care of themselves if their parents died. So, using passcodes that only she and her creator knew, she had the official records changed.
This and a few other discrepancies would have been revealed in the game through the player finding info discs.
In cases of population unrest a test subject would be chosen to be released from the vault early. The subject would return and tell the vault dwellers the condition of the world outside and whether or not it was safe to leave the vault. Of course, the test subjects would never return and this fact would deter anyone leaving again for a while.
Harold was one such subject. He was released from the vault, stunned by the security system, and picked up by a robot to be taken to the nursery. At the nursery he was given the choice of staying with Diana or exploring the outside world. However, if he chose to explore, she would have to 'condition' him so that he could not reveal anything about her or the nursery to the world.
Ok, here things get a bit sketchy. We were uncertain of Harold's exact role in the game at this point of design so bear with me.
Harold agreed to stay with Diana but managed to escape. During his travels he kept the nursery a secret because he felt it was his duty to the world to keep such a future 'gift' intact until the world was ready for it.
He received his head injury at one point, his tree grew, and his early memories faded with age. His return to the nursery was a moment of joy for Diana and a 'new experience' to him. Ausir 09:19, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

Very long and complicated story :) I think it could be easier to divide Harold's and Diana's parts of plot and insert Vault 31. And one more thing - vault robots had to transport Harold to the Nursery. It's quite a long hike. What about Ouroboros design document number? dotz

Well, I don't agree - I think it incorporates Harold nicely into the overall story. As for Ouroboros - the design document is number 6 - what about it? Ausir 11:31, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

Design document for Ouroboros has no number. Is it guess about "6" or you asked Deiley? (I suppose it could be planned to send the PC early, so low number) dotz

Huh? It's always been number 6, the version at NMA is 06_Ouroboros.doc and it's been there for 2 years. See the list at Design document too. Ausir 09:59, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

In November 2005 I loaded vb_ouroboros (same size after unrar). Again - inside document is no information about its cue number. I have checked all "6" with ctrl+F. So somebody in NMA, who named Ouroboros file with "06" should tell us something about this issue. BTW list at Design document is not a good proof (or not a proof), if is based only on file external name given by NMA. cheers, dotz

I don't even know if it makes sense to include Jason's PnP here (even though I helped create it). It's a fan-made project unlike any of the other sources covered here and even version 2.0 has some clear errors that were corrected in the unfinished 3.0 version (currently at the Fallout PnP wiki). Shadow governmentEdit

Sawyer's RPG implies that the Enclave is a shadow government more in this sense (also from Wikipedia):

Conspiracy-theorists define shadow government as a secret government within the government. This secret government is the "real" government that controls the known government's basic course. The members' identities and meeting-halls of the secret shadow government are known by only a select few. This secret government is often portrayed as corrupt and having connections to the CIA, Illuminati, and Freemasons. It usually knows about and handles weird situations that are kept secret, such as the New World Order, the Apocalypse, aliens, the Antichrist, demons, human body- or soul harvesting, missing persons, experiments on people, etc. The shadow government is often funded by money that has been purposely "misplaced" within the government's system, or concealed behind government-contract projects that are false fronts for other undertakings.

As in, it was a power group within the US government before the War with connections to corporations like Poseidon and Vault-Tec. Ausir 01:10, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

thx. I am going to prepare some paralell Enclave concerning articles, one of them will be connected with its organization and laws. It is useless to rewrite whole Enclave article, it is enough to be "main article" with some links to more detailous knowledge.--dotz 09:28, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

2257 Edit

It's never stated in Emil's article that they arrived in 2257. Only that the conflict with the mutants "has continued unceasingly for over twenty years", but over twenty years does not mean precisely twenty years. It could be 22, 22, etc. Ausir 01:44, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

count with Sarah age - she was 7 when arrived, in 2277 she is 27.
Where was Sarah's age stated? Emil's diary only says that she's a grown woman now. Ausir 07:43, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
ops; another ilusion revealed--dotz 10:39, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

BTW - you are so fast with this new BoS - do you sleep? (another time zone resident?). I was thinking about fair use rules for quotations then :)--dotz 06:09, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

I sleep during the day. And Bethesda doesn't seem to mind us directly quoting their documents. Ausir 07:43, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

The only real inconsistency here is the War Department. As for Sentinel, the rank might have been created at any moment in the 115 years between FO1 and FO3. As for soldiers, even in FO1 BoS characters use the word "soldier" from time to time. John Maxson about Rhombus: "{242}{Gen_56}{Rhombo's been here a long time. A bit stiff, but a helluva soldier.}" And Knights also occasionally performed external duties. From Vree's autopsy report: "This is truly amazing. Some of the Knights on a patrolling expedition came across an unusual creature." Ausir 13:21, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Please don't create redirects from a character's name to his dialogue file - aside from dialogue file page, every character should have an article, and if there is a redirect, it won't show up on Special:Wantedpages. Ausir 00:57, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Any compromise possible? - may be some aplication rules bypass? - when is no character name, at least dialogue file can be linked. Anyway I'll make this 1000 stubs.--dotz 06:31, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Better make a short stub with a link to the dialogue file than a redirect. Ausir 11:02, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Van Buren, not van Buren Edit

I noticed you're using "van Buren" instead of "Van Buren" a lot. The capitalized version is the correct one. Ausir 02:45, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

New people Edit

Wow, lots of new people around here lately. We probably have Bethesda to thank, since they've been hyping FO3 a lot recently, which brings more people to google for Fallout. :) Ausir 21:23, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Keep your eye on it.--dotz 08:36, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

 !? Edit

How in hell did you manage to get that image? D: Shaur M. S. Grizlin 18:32, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Yes, how!!!! have you managed to rip the graphics? we could really use them! - Dude101

I am not as clever as you think I am. Just pasted from NMA. I am afraid it is not in the gallery. A year ago there was a short thread concerning van Buren demo real content, eg. some maps also, as well as useful tools to view it. I hope you could reveal some more info concerning other vB maps. It would be great.--dotz 20:19, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Found it, my eyes hurt from grave digging now - Dude101 edit, it looks like the command console can be used to make all more screen caps like this easily:

 CreateEntity <filename> example: CreateEntity Weapons15mm_Artemis_Railgun.wea (<-Note

full list [1] apparently you can load other maps to.

Also I found this gem:

"Here are Hex Workshop Structures for the B3D 1.1 file format. (still alive thank god) This will allow someone to write a mesh exporter. Hopefully someone does. Because I hate coding." - Bluetooth. Now I just need to find a 1337 haxor.

end spam (sorry Dotz) - Dude101

You are welcome. All extracted items are present in Duck and Cover gallery, so don't pry opened door.--dotz 10:52, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Actually, they only have the inventory art (also on the modding wiki),which BTW we converted into FO2 FRM, no critters or gun renders. - Dude101

Enclave Armed Forces Edit

I don't think there's much point in making a separate article for Capital Wasteland Enclave armed forces. I think it's better to just edit the Enclave Armed Forces article to show 2277 as the current status of the Enclave military, and edit the 2241 data to be shown as historical information. Ausir 09:55, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Yes and no. Structure of Enclave Armed Forces article was given for 2241 year and oil rig affairs. I can add some short annex for CW EAF there, but with more information the whole article will be to huge (fortunately I won't play F3 for a few years and there are a few details on CW EAF now - a CO, a vertibird with 3 person squad and a hat).--dotz 15:49, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
Well, IMHO the article should reflect the current structure of the EAF, with 2241 data given as historical info (in past tense). I'll be adding the appropriate 2277 information to it later. The Enclave and its army is the same organization as in FO2, not a splinter faction like the BoS (only relocated to the East Coast), so there is no point in having 2 articles. Ausir 15:55, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

So past perfect and past simple.--dotz 17:54, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

I got idea for merit splint: EAF history/EAF organization.--dotz 21:37, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
After some thought, maybe you're right. Ausir 21:41, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

John Henry Eden Edit

The only person who knew that Eden was a computer was Col. Autumn. The rest of the Enclave thought that he was human and that only Autumn could meet him in person for security reasons. Ausir 19:13, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Wich doesn't change questions of legality. Thanks for info.--dotz 19:15, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
Well, we don't know what the constitution of the United States looked like before the war, much less how the Enclave's constitution looked after the War. Ausir 19:21, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

AI or just a computer/software (like the Emperor)? Did the PC find, that Eden was a machine?--dotz 19:19, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Full AI, it's a ZAX supercomputer with data about American history, past presidents, etc. His personality is based on an amalgam of the personalities of all past US presidents. And yes, the PC eventually finds out that Eden is a computer. Before the Oil Rig's destruction, Eden was a presidential advisor to Enclave presidens, apparently was included in the chain of succession, assumed power over surviving Enclave forces and ordered them to relocate to Raven Rock. Ausir 19:21, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
Or usurped it. It is significant that his/its real form is a secret. Talking about constitution - basic 21 articles and early amendments should be the same, I'll make some disclaimer for hypothetical further derogations of article 2 content.--dotz 20:08, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Banning users Edit

Blocking a user after one edit that is not obvious vandalism (it could have been an accidental edit by someone who isn't experienced with wikis) is a bit harsh. I unblocked him. Ausir 21:43, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

OK, sorry, what about title of the article?--dotz 22:09, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
Bobbleheads‎? What about it? Ausir 22:11, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
Sorry once again, didn't check it, it sounded for me as nonsense.--dotz 22:15, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Constitution Edit

The constitution article is based on the description in the Capitol Preservation Society, which is full of errors because of Abraham Washington's limited knowledge of pre-War US. Ausir 20:14, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

So it should be marked as quotation and properly described.--dotz 20:18, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

Colonel Autumn Edit

I reverted your addition of the image, since it's not actually colonel Autumn. It's Mikael Grizzly's character in Autumn's coat. Ausir 20:25, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

Thief and bandit! Poor Colonel Autumn.--dotz 21:08, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
I wanted that trenchcoat and I got it :D Shaur M. S. Grizlin 21:11, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
So paste corpse photo in the article.--dotz 21:16, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
I think he just used the additem code to get it. Ausir 21:21, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
Yes. The only other way is to wait for the final showdown and then it's useless :( Shaur M. S. Grizlin 22:03, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

Now that I have been playing this one I'm really interested in playing the previous versions. I hear there are more than just fallout 1 and 2, also the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series of games were supposed to be based loosely on the Fallout series.

I just find this to be fun because of the FPS + RPG aspect, the old school turn based games are fun but are also more tedious. That doesn't go without saying however that the originals are what got me interested in the first place. I have a friend who was playing Fallout 2 about 3 months ago and introduced me to the world. Now I'm totally hooked!

Great Wiki you have going here, I plan to help you populate the data from Fallout 3 and will work on my user page to show what sections I am going to focus on first.

) Akarui Itchi 06:10, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
You are really welcome.--dotz 06:35, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Removed all traces of "ranks" from 40 broken link pages. Edit

I saw you had deleted the Ranks page because it was impossible to search for, and since it had 40 links and was the most wanted page at the moment, I went ahead and unlinked each page from it. They were all perks. Obviously I didn't remove the word "rank" from the articles, just removed the linking brackets. Schizmoooo 19:35, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Thanks.--dotz 19:45, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Shocktrooper Edit

It was rerouted anyway.

Procedures Edit

They're on the Enclave talk page. Shaur M. S. Grizlin 19:53, 18 December 2008 (UTC) thx--dotz 21:41, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Caesar's LegionEdit

The introductory paragraph should give a concise summary of what the article is about. In the previous version of the Legion article, you couldn't see what it's about at first glance. Ausir 17:13, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

Previously, the article started with the motto and then followed the table of contents, which is why I changed it. As for cleanup, it's mostly about grammar and the structure of the article being a bit chaotic. E.g. the " Van Buren pieces of development" section should probably be merged with the appearances one. Ausir 22:25, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

Hanged Man Edit

It still needs some grammar cleanup. I'd also include some of the stuff you put as references in parentheses within the main body of the text, and reserve the references for sources. Ausir 21:08, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but while you're good at collecting facts, for me Grizzly is better at making them more readable. Ausir 21:45, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
It's not a strict rule, but at least some of the stuff you put in references I would personally put in parentheses. Ausir 22:07, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Feel free.--dotz 22:07, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

Bares His TeethEdit

You forgot to add the {{VB}} template. Also, when adding a new article, don't forget to add the new {{Games}} template that adds the game icons in the top right corner (at least in the Monaco skin) - e.g. {{Games|FO1|FO3}} or {{Games|VB}}. Ausir 21:42, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

Fallout Van Buren Screen Edit

Do you have the whole screenshot for this? Where was it found? Would be cool to see a picture of a legion slaver in the real F3.

Enclave armed forces talk page Edit

I'm not sure if two talk pages can be merged... Maybe that one gets deleted all together?

EAF talk is valuable, including a few quotations from Grizzly - try to archive it.--dotz 15:36, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
Right, it's all archived on my PC, everything.
It is possible to keep talk page without its article, that is my suggestion (don't delete it), I really recomend you to read pre-Grizzly Eaf article--dotz 15:58, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

Good to see one of our old Administration active again in the Fallout community. :) Don't know whether you'll stay here, or whether you'll be heading off to The Vault, (Maybe both?) but it's good to have you back either way.

Two Vaults - or not Edit

I saw your question on Leon's page so I thought I would answer it as I don't know when Leon will be around. Problems arose with Wikia and Ausir so he decided to move to a different host site (Curse) but he couldn't delete this page. He claimed the name "The Vault" as his so we decided to change our name so not to be a) confusing and b) as not to disrespect Ausir. So that is why we aren't The Vault anymore. Lots of drama occured around it all. Hope that answers your question and welcome back! I don't know you (you were probably here before I was) but still good to see past admins making a return! :) NextTattoo"Even In Death May You Be Triumphant" 08:15, September 18, 2012 (UTC)

VB Edit

I wish Van Buren was released instead of this Bethesda's FO3... First thing I'll do when I finish my education (master programming, etc) will be taking a look at Van Buren itself :) Goekhan 18:47, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

First, welcome back to Nukapedia, haven't seen some admins that were absent in a long time (even in chat).

Anyway, I doubt Deadlykris will respond, as he and others have gone to a different site to edit. Energy X 09:26, October 2, 2012 (UTC)

Arcade Gannon Edit

You were looking at the Van Buren version of his page. The information there is not canon, so it can conflict with canon info. And yes, I've followed The Vault when it moved off of Wikia, but I got an email from Wikia that you posted a message on my talk page, so I came by to answer it. --Kris User Hola 15:28, October 2, 2012 (UTC)
