Feral ghouls Edit

Needs some help for the overview page, in appearances it shows that they appear in Fallout (in random encounters, as "mindless ghouls"), Fallout 2 (as "ghoul crazies"). Looking through the history I cant really find any info relating to FO and FO2 apart from the mention in references. Can you confirm that these names are correct, then I will sent up game pages for these as well and link to them from the overview. Same kinda thing goes for Glowing ones and splitting the information, looking at the amount of information and background on the page, I am tending to lean towards having that as a overview page and then doing game pages for glowing ones separate to feral ghouls (instead of combining them into feral ghouls, ie: Feral ghoul (Fallout: New Vegas) with all feral ghouls except glowing ones, then Glowing One (Fallout: New Vegas) with all the Glowing One variants. Whoa, sorry about that. I must be getting kind of "rollback-happy". I was going through a user's contrbutions and reverting his "help" on the variation sections. He's been essentially messing up the header for (what I think) some edit points/ badge points. Sorry about that. Best regard, Kastera (talk) 21:47, April 28, 2011 (UTC)

PSA Edit

Dear Ausir, I have noticed that most people have not read the Wiki Policy and also have alot of feed back to give. I have found a solution for this. An admin (I could be the one if made an Admin), should put up a Public Service Announcement that discusses feedback on the problems users are having on the Wiki and also remind people what the Wiki Policies are. Another problem I have seen is the constant Horrible comments put on the news articles. I suggest it become one of the admins, (Again I could be the one if I am made an Admin), duties to delete sexist, racist, hurtful and all around hateful comments. My first solution would definitely keep the number of messages and annoyances you get on a day to day buisness. These Public Service Announcements could either be weekly or evey few days. The second suggestion I gave would be a great idea because of the hatred that comments are causing between members and anons, also amongst the members themselves. I recently saw even an Anon insulting you on your own site. The quarrels are actually pushing people away from the Wiki because people feel that it is not a safe enviroment. Thank you for your time. --PipGirl 21:55, April 28, 2011 (UTC)

Yes, Avatar told me the same thing yesterday. I had made a note of it, but hadn't gotten around to it yet. I'll take a look at it. JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 01:00, April 29, 2011 (UTC)

  • Ok, I understand. I've split Radscorpion into 3 tables. I'm not sure I did it right, also because on the original page a lot more baseids was listed. But Avatar told me to just use the count table in the GECK, so that's why the list is shorter now. And as you've noticed, I've redirected the mirelurk pages. Some (less important) info, like locations is lost, but that seems to allright? Or do we need to add the locations of all variations to the Mirelurk page? And I'm having trouble to find data like sonic blast damage of for example Lakelurk King. Do you know where to find it? JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 10:23, April 29, 2011 (UTC)
  • CCCPvictory has added the Pure Human page. Is that a valid page? I'm doubting because I've seen it on some pages here, like Arcade Gannon and Henry. I think is going to cause us annoyance (again), because he and User:USSRattachmentAmerica, User:USSRmillitary6663, User:CCCPoperation could very well be one and the same person. I'm going to keep my eye on him. JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 11:47, April 29, 2011 (UTC)

Pipboy iconsEdit

Ausir, I read your comment on forum page Forum:FO3/FNV item images. I'm interested in participating and have uploaded a Armored Vault 13 jumpsuit icon. Is clothing ok too? And where do you want the icon? In the infobox or in the gallery?

  • I like the results of the icons in the infobox. I've uploaded some in the gallery, but the ones I'm going to do from now on I just add as an icon to the infobox. This achievement thing makes me want to prioritize... not sure it's so healthy but ok. You're getting great results, that's what we did it for right? Missing stats for Fallout 3 creatures. Edit

Hi, I have the GOTY edition guide and it contains some of the missing statistics for the creatures (like the feral ghouls). Do you think I should add them in or let someone else look through the G.E.C.K. to find the stats? I thought I'd ask before I edit anything, because the stats in the guide might be incorrect. I would look through the G.E.C.K. myself, but I play on the 360 and I only read about the G.E.C.K. Confirmed Bachelor 777 20:56, April 29, 2011 (UTC)

Just got 500 edits in articles Edit

We all need at least 500 edits in either articles, templates, categories. I just got 500 edits in articles and have been here for well over 5 months which make me eligible to make an adminship request. Now, would you recommend making an adminship request right now or would you recommend waiting a while first? I figured that making one now would let me see how the community trust me, but I'll let you answer whether it's a good idea or not. Thank you very much for your time. Best regards, gears of duty

More Sexist Assholes. Edit

Joplinator and CultofCthulhu have decided it would be funny to start saying that I am a man and stupid crap like that and also saying there are no real woman on the internet. Detailed Walkthroughs Edit

Hello. I have recently developed a wiki acting as sort of an anthology of interest for the Fallout franchise, and I was wondering, as I am recently creating a project for creation of extensive walkthroughs for missions, if I could link to these walkthroughs on the articles on the Vault, or if that would be considered inappropriate or crass in nature. Note that these walkthroughs would be detailed, working on every issue, bug, alternative, and trouble the player may face, and thus may be of higher quality than just a step-by-step guide this wiki has. Sombar1 02:40, May 3, 2011 (UTC)

  • I just saw Uberfuzzy changing it, yes. Well, I'm glad that's settled. Kept me busy for a while, as did your new achievement project (earlier today). This afternoon they decided to go straight for the main characters, and I had to correct some things here and there.

FO3 leftover items in F:NV Edit

I was just wondering about what category the unused leftover items, mostly FO3 quest items, would go in, since "cut content" isn't entirely accurate (at least to me). I had seen a category named "F:NV legacy content" that I thought was a pretty accurate descriptor, but I can't seem to find it now. I will/would also add a section to the FNV misc items (above the cut items, probably) if you want them in a new category. Thanks, Canti-sama(talk) 14:55, May 6, 2011 (UTC)

Jet Edit - Behind The Scenes Edit

I am fairly new here, and it is certainly not my intent to upset the applecart, but I would like your perspective on an edit I've made that has been removed.

Gothemasticator had this to say to me:

Jet is not a reference to any one drug in particular. It is a fictional addictive drug, and so, of course, has many similarities to many different addictive drugs. But it remains its own creation.--Gothemasticator 16:03, May 6, 2011 (UTC)

...though I understand that Jet is not "a reference to any one drug in particular", the point I was trying to make was that the synthesis of the drug certainly parallels the creation of Jenkem, and I feel any cultural reference/nod/etc should be presented, as I've seen with many other articles here.

I would appreciate hearing your two cents on this, as I feel adding my contribution a third time without having discussed it with a third, impartial party would be arrogant on my part.

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Linking Edit

I know, I know. Big McLargeHuge explained it to me a while ago, but I never really got. Like many people, I often suffer from a poor internet connection, and I know the pain of having to wait for minutes on end to get an answer to my question, only to have a link to follow which takes another 3 minutes to load up. After that, I have wasted 10 minutes on something that should have only taken one. Now, I know it sounds like I'm just bitching about my internet connection speed, but trust me, it's a prevalent frustration that many deal with. Now, if you want me to link the Fallout Answers to the Vault, I'll do it. Best regards, Kastera (talk) 01:02, May 9, 2011 (UTC)

Hey man i have a little proposition. I was looking through the Elder Scrolls wiki recently and a noted that their quests are listed according to faction (in other words, all side quests, main quests and unmarked quests for that faction are listed in a seperate list). This makes it very streamlined and easy to find quests and their locations. I was wondering, why don't we do something like that here too?(Nemerian 12:57, May 9, 2011 (UTC))

Fallout Answers "reformatting" Edit

Today I told Ghost about how questions are usually choppy and how it's a persistent problem and he suggested that the problem may be in the query bar. The way it comes off is that it's a search engine rather than a query bar. Ghost and I would rather have it say something like "Welcome to Fallout Answers. Write your question here, to be answered by others. So I tried to edit the internal code for the page, but it turns out part of the overall site design is in a global file or setting, which I don't know where to access or how to change. Ausir, are you ok with the decap of the word ranger, like Trolly Polly just did on NCR Ranger (Fallout: New Vegas) and Veteran Ranger? Same for Initiate (initiate?), Paladin (paladin?) and a whole bunch more like those. If so, then a lot of pages need to be changed. JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 14:04, May 14, 2011 (UTC)

Creatures AchievementEdit

I understand that I didn't do a whole lot in the creatures projects, and I understand why I wasn't rewarded. But I just wanted to say that the achievement's description and your official one elsewhere caused it to be very misleading. Had I known I had to be super active in the project, I would have helped out a LOT more. The achievement's description made it sound like one or two things would be sufficient. I'm sore about not getting it, that's for sure, but I do understand your reasoning.

Do you think incorporating Badges into the wiki is a good idea? Now unskilled people will try to edit pages to get said badges, driving down the quality of The Vault.

Yeah I am aware of that, hence why I added the {{talkpage}} template to that talk page. As for the policy, that can contradict each other having both, might need to be reword to show which rule takes priority over the other. User avatar tagUser Avatar talk 19:19, May 16, 2011 (UTC)

Deletion of the NCR - Legion war page Edit

A user just created the page NCR-Legion War, and in my opinion it's really unnecessary and informal. I don't have the power to delete pages, and from what I've gathered reading the Help pages, in this case I should contact and administrator to see about deleting the page. DonaldDarko 01:09, May 17, 2011 (UTC)

Oh, I just saw that it's been nominated for deletion through the use of the usual wiki deletion code. I wasn't aware that code was applicable for this wiki. I'll keep that in mind. DonaldDarko 01:20, May 17, 2011 (UTC)

Wow, you have realy seen it all my friend, so do you think your opion on something? Point Lookout (add-on) was firetruking creepy! Welcome bot Edit

Seems like the welcome bot has been ignoring its config since April 20 - it shouldn't create user pages, but currently it does. Have there been any changes to the welcome tool while I've been away or is this a bug which needs to be reported? -- Porter21 (talk) 08:00, May 17, 2011 (UTC)

"Incomplete" mbox Edit

Currently, we're using {{Infobox incomplete}} for all kinds of templates which are missing data. Seeing how the amount of non-infobox data templates has been growing quite a bit (creature stat templates, interaction tables, {{Inventory}} etc) I think we may need a separate mbox ("missing data" or something like that) after all. What do you think? -- Porter21 (talk) 08:26, May 17, 2011 (UTC)

Project Edit

I have a project idea and I was wondering if you might be interested in hearing me out. --233345-cartman1 tinyUser Avatar talk 22:06, May 17, 2011 (UTC)

Well you see, I'm very big on consistency, and I've had something in mind for a while now akin to the creature projects. Why can't the same principle used on creature pages be applied to non-unique characters?
As an example a page with a name like "Caesar's Legion legionaries" (or something sounding less repetitive) could contain the seperate denominations of the ranks, beginning with recruit legionaries and ending in centurio or the praetorian guard. As another example, Brotherhood of Steel rankings could be listed beginning with initiate, and ascending through the ranks to knights and scribes, and ending in paladins. This can possibly extend to the likes of super mutants aswell.
Of course there would be a smaller amount of pages to create compared to the creatures, but there would probably be a lot more to say of each individual denomination. Seeing how the creatures are listed feels very uniform and correct, and comparing it to the rest of the random character pages irks me somewhat.
If this is a completely ridiculous idea then I apologise for wasting your time and we'll say nothing more of it. --233345-cartman1 tinyUser Avatar talk 22:25, May 17, 2011 (UTC)

Alright then! I've never done this before so I'm not too sure what to do, should I just create the project page or what? --233345-cartman1 tinyUser Avatar talk 22:29, May 17, 2011 (UTC)

Okay, would you recommend including the robot project in the same discussion or creating two seperate topics? I was thinking maybe creating an overlap project of characters including robots to compensate for the small scale but this is probably unrealistic, no? --233345-cartman1 tinyUser Avatar talk 22:41, May 17, 2011 (UTC)

Alright, I'll start the discussion. --233345-cartman1 tinyUser Avatar talk 22:47, May 17, 2011 (UTC)

Refer to people in the links/page names as how they are referred to in game!!

Augustus Autumn = Colonel Autumn Lee Oliver = General Oliver Alphonse Almodovar = The OVerseer!

The way you list and reference page names is just dumb! Next thing you know, you'll be referring to Caesar as Edward on his own page and the page title!!! fIXX THIS

It's so dumb

Fallout references in a Flash gameEdit

Hey! I wanted to note that this game has a campaign with references to Super Mutants, the Enclave, Vaults, the NCR, Raiders, AND The Chosen One, but I couldn't decide where to put it. I see what you mean, I was thinking I could put it in like a "Fallout 2 (as I'm pretty sure that's the one with the cathedral?) in pop culture" kind of area, but didn't know where it would belong. Badges - FO3 NPC project Edit

Since I see that you make most of the badges yourself, I was wondering if you could make some to promote edits on Fallout 3 characters. The FO3 NPC overhaul project really slowed down after the release of New Vegas and I think introducing badges for this category would make the project speed back up. Thank you, once again. • I agree this would help bring new life to that project.--RAM 00:06, May 18, 2011 (UTC)
Alright, I can see what you're getting at. What's the point of adding new achievements if they're going to get taken down in a week, right? Kastera (talk) 00:14, May 18, 2011 (UTC)
If they do stay, they defiantly need to be used to clear down the outstanding projects. User avatar tagUser Avatar talk 00:17, May 18, 2011 (UTC)
Oh! I thought you were talking about the "Badges: Yay or Nay" discussion (but I guess you already knew that, didn't you). I'll have to take a look at that.

Achievement names Edit

The medical names don't really connect to technical/maintenance work such as adding categories in my opinion ("Stat", "Living Anatomy"). The overlap with the general edit track I didn't really take into account, admittedly. Unfortunately, there are too few "exploration" perks like Pathfinder or Explorer to build a full track, otherwise I'd have used these. The only other alternative I can think of is building a track of "education/logic/intelligence" perks (Educated, Swift Learner, Gifted, Logic Co-Processor, Scribe Assistant etc).

Regarding matching images, I was in the process of changing these ;) -- Porter21 (talk) 11:25, May 18, 2011 (UTC)

Sounds good to me. Love the ones you've chosen for the picture track, by the way - even if it's somewhat hard to find images for the last two :P -- Porter21 (talk) 11:45, May 18, 2011 (UTC)
I've changed the category track. Another track could probably be built out of "carrying/tidying up" perks (Domesticated, Scrounger, Fortune Finder, Heavyweight, Pack Rat, Long Haul, Strong Back), not sure what we could use it for though - maybe the "wiki love" track? -- Porter21 (talk) 12:39, May 18, 2011 (UTC)
There aren't really a lot of images for the karma ranks though, which is why I suggested it. Don't really mind either way really. I'm going to replace the edit track with Waste Management Specialist -> Jury Rigger -> Hand Loader -> Regular Maintenance (might need a better name for that one, but I like the image) -> Tech Wizard -> Vigilant Recycler -> Mr. Fixit tomorrow, otherwise I'm through with tinkering ;) By the way, getting images centered properly in the badge frames is quite a pain, isn't it? Especially since the bronze frame is off-center... -- Porter21 (talk) 21:14, May 18, 2011 (UTC)

Luckmann Edit

Today I received the below message from a User:Luckmann, after reviewing the talk page and conversation between them and Tagaziel, I see no need for a perma-ban and have removed the ban as such. I have left a message for Tagaziel, but I thought it also best to inform you as well of the situation. User avatar tagUser Avatar talk 19:37, May 18, 2011 (UTC)

Hello. First of all, allow me to apologize, since this may constitute a breach of the rules on the site; I haven't actually read any rules on the subject (and I have tried to find a set of general rules, but I've found mostly guidelines and policies), but it may constitute "Ban evasion", a common rule on most forums and such. Again, if so, I apologize.

I am the user "Luckmann" and was just, without prior notification or warning, banned, by one "Tagaziel" for "Reason given: For being a Nazi apologist AND supporter." Now, I've in no way used The Vault as a soapbox of any kind, just like I don't treat any forum or wikia I am a member of as a soapbox or a political engine. I have even taken the time to help some that others would label my diametrical opposite (including myself), such as "Suppressor Prime". My only only crime seems to have been that I offhandedly remarked that I was a national socialist in a comment relating to Tribalism and Primitivism (National Socialism naturally relating to a tribalist world-view, separate from the idea that all tribals are also primitives). No-one else raised an eyebrow, but I appear to have drawn the ire of Tagaziel who immediately began to badger me via my Talk page. I tried to explain to him that obviously, our definitions differed and was more than courteous in answering any questions he had, but it appears that despite this, he chose to ban me.

I cannot see any rules which I have broken. Not a single bad word or even voicing hostility of any kind, and ask you for an unbanning. In my short stay with a real account on the site, I've made a small number of friends, I'd love to contribute in the future and would hate to leave just because an administrator happens to dislike the politics I support.

Thanks. Block ID: #10845, I won't post my IP publicly for obvious reasons. :)

I originally approached Master Mold with this issue but have since not replied any word from him, for which reason I now approach you. I hope that's alright.

Do you know anyone from the Fan Made Fallout team who has access to backups of their website? It appears the site is down, and the various FO2 indexes (items, creatures etc) would be very useful for us, I think. If we could get our hands on the HTML files, I could convert it to wiki syntax and put it on a sub-page of FW:RAW. -- Porter21 (talk) 11:01, May 20, 2011 (UTC)

New Canaan Edit

Not really. Salt Lake City is explicitly stated to have been vaporized by thirteen nukes. Randall Clark, despite being an SLC citizen, was unable to even find the street his house was on, much less the remains of his wife and child. Vaults were never made to withstand direct nuclear hits, even Fallout 3 tells you as much. This pretty much invalidates the New Jerusalem part of the story as apart from being completely absent from Honest Hearts (not a single mention), it just wouldn't make sense for the Mormons to settle the blasted, irradiated ruins of Salt Lake City, because GECK or not, they would still have a lot of fallout to work through. The Moon-GECK so oft quoted on the New Canaan talk page is a misconception, as the Bible blurb it's based on states that the Moon surface needs to be appropriately pre-conditioned to accept the GECK:

The GECK isn't really a replicator. It contains a fertilizer system, with a variety of food seeds, soil supplements, and chemicals that could fertilize arid wasteland (and possibly selected sections of the moon's surface pre-conditioned to accept the GECK) into supporting farming. The GECK is intended to be "disassembled" over the course of its use to help build communities (for example, the cold fusion power source is intended to be used for main city power production), and so on. Anything else people needed, they could simply consult the How To Books/Library of Congress/Encyclopedias in the GECK holodisk library for more knowledge. The pen flashlight was just a bonus.

There is nothing in Honest Hearts that'd suggest that New Jerusalem ever existed. As such, I removed it, because it is entirely speculation. Furthermore, it makes references to the NCR-BoS war from Van Buren, not New Vegas. There were no refugees from the war in New Canaan in New Vegas, because the war never went beyond the Mojave. The intro to Honest Hearts makes an explicit statement, that the NCR only heard about New Canaan a few decades ago and they only traded with them. No mention of refugees of any kind. Personal_Sig_Image.gif Tagaziel (call!) 11:28, May 20, 2011 (UTC)

Kindly read what I wrote. Mojave is as far as the Brotherhood-NCR war reached from California, it did not reach beyond the Mojave wasteland. The presence of war refugees in New Canaan hinges on Hoover Dam as it was in Van Buren and a much more developed NCR presence. Personal_Sig_Image.gif Tagaziel (call!) 15:57, May 20, 2011 (UTC)

He doesn't meet the requirements to become an admin here, Ausir. He's not been an active member for 3 months and his application also lacks a list of major contributions. It's a three rule request without anything further to it. My idea is, people see the words modding, admin and think voting yes is the only right thing to do ("I guess you already know what an admin should do"). I doubt if anyone (except probably Avatar and some rollbackers) bothered to check his page/contributions, only to see there are major gaps in edits. He's made 3000 edits total in 3,5 years. That's not such an impressive average.

In my opinion, you should have pointed him out to our guidelines for applying for adminship (3 months of steady editing) or maybe because of his experience 2 months and then try it. Following the terms for application, this is in fact an invalid request.

You did encourage me to make a request, but it was a totally different situation. I qualified for making the request easily. When I was a member for a month, I had tagged about 1800 files for deletion. It would have come in handy if I had deletion rights back then. Did I make the request? No. I followed the rules and simply bided my time.

The reason I changed my vote to neutral, is that I believe he's a skilled man with knowledge on Fallout 1/2 that few others have. He's not a modder for nothing, and I also think he spends a lot of time on Fallout outside actually editing. And he did some explaining on my talkpage. I suppose giving him admin rights will make things a bit easier for him. Seeing all those green checkmarks on the forum page he will get it. JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 14:48, May 21, 2011 (UTC)

Derived stats in NPC infoboxesEdit

I asked one of the guys where they were getting the derived stats for the infobox and one guy told me he was taking all of the NPC's armor and adding the DT together to get a derived DT. I thought we used only GECK info. The reason why I was asking is because that info is not in the GECK. LEt me know what you think. In my opinion, just adding up the armor leaves room for mistakes.--Kingclyde 21:23, May 22, 2011 (UTC)

Hey ausir i just noticed something. In the fallout 3 video where the character goes to the super duper mart, i noticed that he picks up a power fist. The odd thing though is that when he uses the power fist (outside v.a.t.s) he uses a different attack animation. The video is[1] at around 1:00. Have you noticed that.

Nature Category in Creatures Page Edit

Hello Ausir. Im typing this message to ask you for permission to do something. That something is to add somethng to each creature page. I want to add a "Nature" (can be changed to your liking) category. This category will list all of the things the creature does (actions like: if it smells, growls before attacking, etc.). Idea For An Achievement? Edit

Hey Ausir! I know that I am not a Vault Admintrator or anything like that, but I came up with quite a good idea to improve the qualities of the Vault's pages. If the achievements system continues, The Vault's bureocrats and adminstrators could discuss in maybie adding achievements for participating in "projects" from The Vault (like the limited platinum one for participating in the Fallout 3 and New Vegas Creatures Projects. The achievements don't need to be of platinum quality, however.). I was browsing in the Projects pages of The Vault and I managed to find a lot of easy and good projects to participate. If you have time, please think about this idea. After all, it's up to you of you want to put these achievements or not. Thank you for your interest!

Quick question... Edit

Are "w"s in Polish pronounced as "v"s? ЙураYuriKaslov - Sig image 00:54, May 26, 2011 (UTC)

Ausir, I've been thinking about the achievements' effectiveness. You must have noticed that the edits on the achievement pages have dropped quite significantly, especially on the creatures project. This may have to do that once a member reaches let's say 25 of 50, they will think 100 or 250 is out of reach and give up. From my personal experience I can say I have that feeling with the creature project and also with the Fallout 1/2 and HH quest project. As for the creature and HH quests pages I'm somewhat over a 100 and do find it a real large gap to 250. Fallout 1/2 even more so, 250 till I reach 500.

Now I was thinking, what if we reset the achievement points after a certain period, let's say a month and give the one who's number one then some kind of reward. A little something Fallout related to be sent home or if there's no budget just a little place somewhere on the FNV portal page with the Vault Dweller of the Month title.

It has the advantage that the bar is set low again (0,25,50) and that's reachable for a lot of members who don't edit a lot. This might increase the edits again on the creature project pages, also from the experienced top 10 members who probably want to keep their status/rank or improve it. It's also a possibility to make the MotM title available only once (every 6 months?) to the same person so he doesn't get it every month.

If you don't like it, then another idea is just to decrease the gaps between thresholds, 50 after you reach a 100 (100-150-200 and so on). Or maybe even 25 after you reach 50. Although I'm not too sure about that last one, because it probably will increase fake edits too much.

Think about it and if you consider it options, then I would like to make it a forum topic of it.

By the way, I noticed my edit count has dropped from 28,000 to 24,000. Have certain edits (like categorizing images) been excluded from the count? JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 16:13, May 27, 2011 (UTC)

Van BurenEdit

I'm too lazy to chech if there is one, but there ought to be a Van Buren tech demo project. While admittedly only a very few people have it and even less care about it, I think it'd be worthwhile to improve the quality of the pages. For example, the Laser array gun is noted to be in the demo but it doesn't have a base id (or whatever you call the Van Buren equivalent). Also, NONE of the ammunition I looked at had any base ids at all. I feel that since they exist in Fallout and we can get their ids, we ought to do it. Lemme know what you think, I'd love to help out! --Valoopy sig Valoopy 02:24, May 28, 2011 (UTC)

Spam FilterEdit

I am trying to revert a few edits and it won't let me. A wikia spam filter comes up and lists the reasons for the blocking of my actions. One of them is the phrase "240px" which is part of a gallery and the other is "00019498" which is the baseID for the Pulowski preservation shelter. What happened? I listed the problem as well in the spam filter issues area.--Kingclyde 20:35, May 28, 2011 (UTC)

There is a new category or rather a bunch of new categories. Confirmed Bachelor 777 made a bunch of categories that are duplicates and now we need to remove them. I guess there is a difference between legitimate and just well done. And now that I think of about it, it would be strange if you returned to San Fran; depending on the the Chosen One's actions, Bethesda's San Fran wouldn't look like another players' San Fran, if that makes any sense.

  • I have handled this matter, together with insulting another editor and being a fourth offense, I've given him a 2 weeks block.
  • About the achievement track I was thinking of the categories Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas non-player characters, because of the probable generic character overhaul. And in the same flow we can change the layout to Porter's proposition. There are also a lot of pages in those categories, so enough points can be scored by many people and that's what people like and gets them motivated. I've also been thinking why the Fallout 1/2 characters pages didn't go well. I think it has to do with the unfamiliarity and age of the games. A lot of editors are teenagers who never played those games and think it's too much of an effort investing the time, being happy playing FNV and its add-ons and rather doing some edits on what they know. It has turned out that edits on the older games are more for the 'veteran/experienced' FO members like Itachou and Tagaziel. I've seen edits done by others, but they've been minor and almost not worth the trouble. I've done some edits myself and still plan on adding some images. I hope you let the FO1/2 categories stay in the achievement track, because it will get me more motivated to do it (allright, I admit, I'm affected by the achievements, and I think other top 10 players too).
    • Two other categories I had in mind are FNV miscellaneous items and armor ander clothing. Misc items because there are a lot of them and it's short, easy editing (that's what people tend to like best) and armor and clothing needs some reorganizing + new images too. But if you don't want too many projects at the same time, I'd say FO3/FNV npc's categories. JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 17:30, June 2, 2011 (UTC)

Would i be good to make an admin request? I'm asking people first to make sure i have support so i don't make a forum and fail. Trolly Polly Olly 20:35, June 9, 2011 (UTC)

Hey Ausir. I'm sending a note to you to see if you can check out this guy actions. I feel in my personal opinion, that he is being detrimental to The Vault by arguing with every single action that any admin does. He demands that we show him a line of policy validating our actions. An example is the issue that I am having with him on my talk page. In short, he wants to make the roller coaster an unmarked location page when I presented him the policy pages about the location articles and guidelines. I also mentioned that the GECK shows it as an item similar to a fence. From that he demanded that I provide him proof that we use the GECK for the wiki. His quote "where exactly is it said that the wiki uses the GECK to define articles" is similar to others he is expressing on other admins pages. He is having a lengthy discussion with Itachou and has told him already that his actions are "outside of admin responsibilities outlined at FW:RFA". Anyways, I told him that I have more important things to do on this wiki then to spend my time hunting down something to satisfy his curiosity. In my opinion, this is a wiki and not a government institution. We operate by guidelines and not complex rules such as the US tax code. My point is that so far today I have spent way too much time on this and it has diverted my time from projects. I am starting a discussion about admin responsibilities because I am getting tired of this single cry of us admins being unjust. Please let me know what you want to do about this or if you can intervene. Thanks.--Kingclyde 22:19, June 9, 2011 (UTC)

I'd just like to request that adminship is recognised as a form of authority in the policies and guidelines, as this seems to be one of the major points of the contention here. I've provided many reasons as to why it is an authority in the new discussion page, it is quite undeniably a form of authority by the very definition of the word, and I would like to know of your opinion regarding this in particular. --233345-cartman1 tinyUser Avatar talk 00:02, June 10, 2011 (UTC)

I'm totally agree with Kingclyde, and I spent my day at work thinking about that, with it's bother me a lot (Kingclyde ahead me ;)).

I think Lugiatm is not here for improve The Vault, but to degrade the ambience and makes The Vault only as he wishes.

He is, only for now, currently entered several times in conflict with Me, Ghost, Kingclyde, Tagaziel, Deadlykris (all admins), Atomkilla and Scarface11235 - giving a total of 15 (to be nice) conflicts, all visible on his talk page (that almost only reflects that otherwise) and not even in space of one month! This is not normal, especially for a normal user.

Also, he never proposes new project but is still trying to remove what was built before (some even have already discussed with the community), only based on his personal opinion.

In his own words, he don't cares for the reputation he may have in the community, so that means he doesn't care of the community and his opinion, and therefore has nothing to do here, a Wiki is built jointly with the entire community, not just by one person.

Also, he was attempt to trigger an edit war with me for the Caesar's Legion page. We discuss why we should let Caesar on the page instead of Edward Sallow, and the discussion was finished because he had no valid argument and he had never replied to me after. But later (probably for not as I see it), he re-edit the page and changed "Joshua Graham" for "Malpais Legate", just like that for fun, to conform The Vault to his own opinion.

  • The discussion in Lugiatm talk page: [14]
  • In my talk page: [15]
  • Here is the changed made by him later: [16]

So he did violate the user conduct policy used on The Vault.

But it's not finished, although a normal user, it tends to be pragmatic and act quickly for some editions without having speaking with an admin for what to do (like the remove of the old name of the Big Empty [17], which could be considered vandalism since all the pages with their old names are written on the introduction page, why remove it? Because pre-war name stated in background? But, it's the same for all pages with their old names, so please why? The editions on all different Shady Sands pages are useless [18], [19], [20], this have nothing to do on these pages as the discussion takes place on the forum. Has anyone had the intention to change something before it adds that? No. Or add the South Vegas Ruins on the New Vegas page, [21], before asking an admin for what to do, not if it was something that everyone (New Vegas - South Vegas Ruins - similar name no?) would miss its).

Also, he removes gameplay sections of factions page, and not reput them somewhere. Factions projet at the base was poor writted, we are on a gaming wiki, the gameplay has the same important place as the background. He remove the sections because he blindly followed the policy when he could ask - why remove them? Where to re-put them? It's still an information packet. No, he prefers to remove everything that was written in these sections since the beginning of the page. Even me, or anyone, would ask an admin for what to do before remove something of such importance.

And for say, I have far less desire to contribute to The Vault since he is here (and I think it's like that for some people, Kingclyde must be agree with me). When I get home from work, I am glad to come help and have real discussions on The Vault, but I have other things to do that to see Lugiatm enter into conflict with me or someone else (and I think it's the same for all person who come into conflicts with it).

I truly think that the atmosphere has changed dramatically for everyone since he is here. I think he deserves a warning for all unnecessary conflict from a personal opinion he has created and for the other things mentioned above, not even in the space of one month, not two but not even one month! And a temporary ban if continued on this path, because The Vault will not survive this, and I will not stay here to see what the atmosphere deteriorate because of someone like him. Itachou [~talk~] 16:58, June 10, 2011 (UTC)

Some of the accusations here are accurate (although all are accompanied by hyperbole, such as the claim that I am to be the downfall of the wiki), and I suppose whether I have actually done anything wrong is for Ausir to decide (obviously I do not believe any of my edits were bad or I would not have made them in the first place). Other accusations I believe to be stretching the truth a little in order to ensure that I am reproached. I believe these accusations damage the credibility of Itachou's arguments and indicate that the accusations are more part of a personal problem with me contesting his constant reverting of my contributions. It is these accusations that I'd like to address, to Itachou directly.
You took my statement about "not caring about the community" out of context. I was clearly referring to how an argument should be judged on its strength rather than judged on the person making the argument.
Changing Joshua Graham to Malpais Legate was something which, IIRC, was not an issue in the discussion we had. We were discussing Caesar - you insisted on changing Caesar's name under "founders" to his name after the Legion was founded, and I was simply changing the name of Joshua Graham to Malpais Legate (as he was known during his Legion days) for consistency.
The Big Empty page could be in no way considered vandalism. That was simply removal of repetitious information - the location's pre-war name is background information, so it belongs in the background section. Not the opening section, not both sections.
The additions of the templates on the Shady Sands pages serve to centralise discussion and notify editors visiting the pages of the proposal. That is the proper use of the templates. Just because the proposal to change them has not been made before does not mean it's not a valid proposal - you are appealing to tradition.
I do not need an admin's permission to make an edit like the addition of the South Vegas Ruins to the New Vegas page. That is not nearly as massive a change as you make out, and I still believe it was the right thing to do because it is just as much a part of New Vegas as the North Vegas Square or Westside, but I don't have the energy to argue the toss with GhostAvatar right now.
Thinking about it Itachou, I can't think of a single instance of me "getting my own way". You have reverted my revisions and I have respected yours, but your unwillingness to discuss the issues means that any proposals I make are not discussed - if anyone is forcing their view on the wiki, it is you.
The gameplay sections were removed from factions pages because at the time of editing, the guidelines (which you later edited to reflect your own view on how things should be documented, without prior discussion), clearly laid out faction pages and gameplay sections were not a part of those guidelines. You cannot chastise me for not following guidelines which, in their current form, did not yet exist at the time of my edits.
I am sorry this comment is not laid out better or researched more carefully, but I'm in a bit of a rush right now. Hopefully I have made my point effectively, and it will be considered along with the other comments. --Lugiatm (talk · contribs) 19:19, June 10, 2011 (UTC)

No, we also spoke of the difference between new name and nickname. Malpais Legate is a nickname and Caesar is a real name chosen by himself (looking at the page again). What you did was a violation of the user conduct policy, policy itself as long as you use to remove the admin rights of Mikael (who abuse these powers on my opinion it's right, but don't support your opinions on something you don't respected). And also, you talk about abuse of admin's powers, but in this case I could temporary ban you, but I did not make it.

For the Big Empty, it's not up to you to decide that, as each time you use your own personal opinion (your opinion it's not "the" opinion). It is the policy we used for many time, and it's just fine - it allows a quick view on its name and its old name. If you want to change it (like everything on The Vault), you have to open a new debate.

For New Vegas, it's also not to you to decide if this is important or not, you're there for one month and you want to do your laws? I think personaly that was important, it completely changes the sense of place when he is not among them, aligning a false information that could be quickly checked in-game. New Vegas is not all of the old Las Vegas.

You talk about me as if we knew since a long time. It's been over 2 years that I contribute to The Vault and I never had any major problems, like with all debate and discussions, I respect each other and we stay in friendly terms at the end. I answered all the questions and all the arguments that you asked me. So well, say what I refused to talk, I'm curious.

Factions project was at first badly created and was not checked by the community before I realize. Why lie? I explain on your talk page and on the debate in the forum that didn't do that to put my opinion in the project, but to stop any changes before the end of the debate - I immediately created the debate in the forum over the same day.

And well, as you saw on the forum, Ghost and Porter have agreed with me, except you, how strange. Also like I say, don't always follow blindly the policies and guidelines (and more generally when the opinion of the community was not given), adapt you, start a discussion, don't destroy work because "It's the guidelines", it is clear that the gameplay section should remain, obviously, it was created by many people who took their time to do it. Where and how to put, there was a question to ask.

And not like you, this is not my personal opinion (so I see that you don't read messages), Kingclyde just above me tell the same things as me, and I can easily say that many people think like me about you. Why not try to calm down and be a normal contributors - start new project, debate on old badly created project, makes intelligent edit, try to have good relationships with people, ask an admin for important things in the beginning and adapt to the Wiki which you participate? Not a beast who tries to impose its views to people and who wants to change everything here, with not even 1 month of presence. Itachou [~talk~] 21:13, June 10, 2011 (UTC)

Conflict VS WarEdit

There is a discussion between me and Lugiatm about conflict or war. Lugiatm has been moving several articles from "war" to "conflict". One article, NCR-Brotherhood conflict and NCR-Great Khan conflict were moved by him. However, a conflict is a disagreement. A war is a conflict with arms between parties.

Should they be kept to war or be conflict? Trolly Polly Olly 13:47, June 13, 2011 (UTC)

New Arroyo - Arroyo page Edit

Hello Ausir ;)

Yes you're right, I just saw after your message that in the ending of Fallout 2, Arroyo is never called "New Arroyo" and Emily Ortal, the only person that mention Arroyo calls it simply "Arroyo". I think many people (including myself) have taken this as an official name - and a section in the background of Arroyo page was named like that so I thought it was official. Well seen!

For Arroyo part of NCR I'm not sure (it was already in the page), I just checked right now and Emily Ortal said she left since 5 years ago Arroyo, and the taxes of the NCR and inflation have touched people and most of the money goes to the war effort. So I don't know if we can consider that Arroyo is part of the NCR (for my opinion it has a good chance that it is part for the NCR, I don't think she will talk about another things just after mentioned Arroyo in her previous dialogue). If you want, I try to ask the question to Josh Sawyer in Formspring but it will take a moment to have a reply (and if he answers my question of course).

I take care of Arroyo pages =), so my friend what do you think about Arroyo part of the NCR? Itachou [~talk~] 14:50, June 13, 2011 (UTC)

Why have you rename the page Arroyo (Fallout 2) into Arroyo? The page was already done and you have delete all the format already in place. It's Lugiatm was changed Arroyo to New Arroyo and I think confused you. Itachou [~talk~] 16:04, June 13, 2011 (UTC)

But the former page "Arroyo" was destroyed forever no? In fact, I took care of the page and Lugiatm arrive and begin to rename Arroyo in New Arroyo everywhere in the page. After you arrive and you did your renaming. But it doesn't matter sincerely, just a question, is there way to re-find the format and informations or all is lost?

Well, I think is lost, I'm going to put everything that was done... Itachou [~talk~] 16:20, June 13, 2011 (UTC)

Ha sorry I see right now! I was afraid for a while ;). Itachou [~talk~] 16:22, June 13, 2011 (UTC)

It was to put in the same format as the other pages that have no sub-section, but whatever you like I'm neutral for that =). Itachou [~talk~] 16:24, June 13, 2011 (UTC)

Layout section Edit

Lugiatm being a fanatic and follows blindly the guideline, can you confirm that you agree with the Layout section of New Reno (the most recent format also used by Modoc and Arroyo)? I debated it with Ghost and we agree that is perfect for locations of Fallout and Fallout 2.

The player can see what looks like the area (and click on the image directly as an introduction) before reading its description - also get the image showing right where the eye first starts the sentance. Itachou [~talk~] 18:57, June 13, 2011 (UTC)

I think you must be mistaken, Itachou ...I have never edited the New Reno page. As for Modoc, the {{cleanup}} tag was more to do with the restoration project section, the "Location" section, and the lack of the mandatory "Buildings" and "Inhabitants" sections, problems which still persist with the page after your removal of the tag. As for the Arroyo page, I'm not exactly clear on whether this is what Itachou is referring to, but I have started a discussion on the matter here. Ausir, a comment from you would be most appreciated. --Lugiatm (talk · contribs) 19:13, June 13, 2011 (UTC)

I know my friend, I never say you have edited New Reno and Modoc, read my message above, I never say that, never. Just you have remove the "Layout format" of Arroyo with this edit:[22]

Midwestern Brotherhood of Steel insignia Edit

Hello, Ausir. Can you please help me with Brotherhood of Steel insignia problem? Looks like Tagaziel decided it should be blue based on Fallout Tactics promotional images. In the same time he neglects the fact it should be mirrored on the vertical axis. The image has already been changed several times so I don't want to start an edit war. But I don't know what should I do in this situation. veryblackravenTalk 06:29, June 14, 2011 (UTC)

Hey Edit

Dude you made this vault amazing.

New achievement track Edit

It would appear that the add-on locations don't give credit for an edit. I tested it on one location of all the add-ons, and none of them worked. Was this intentional or a bug? Kastera (talk) 02:26, June 16, 2011 (UTC)

Ah, what a shame. Sad that Point Lookout has so many location. I guess I just won't get any badges for my edits there. Oh well; it's not like I'm going to win a car.

FOT Inconsistencies Edit

I want to talk about Fallout Tactics "inconsistencies."

There are two that really bother me bacause people state them as fact when in fact they are nothing but speculation.

First being. Fossil Fuels in the game. Where in the game does it say that gasoline or any other fossil fuel is used? I would really like to know. Oil drums all over the place.

Why does oil drum = fossil fuels? Is it not possible that they are full of bio-oil or synthetic oil or some other liquid? People do put other liquids in oil drums.

Is it because of the vehicles? Because it is possible they are using ethanol. The same fuel the Boomers use in New Vegas to fly a boomer.

Raider fuel tanks at the raider base don't say "Gasoline" on them they simply say "Fuel Tank."

Is it because of the Gas Station? Big deal if people have not noticed Fallout 3 and New Vegas have alot of Gas Stations.

Fallout 2 has a quest to get fuel for the tanker. How can that be "fossil fuels are all gone." So Fallout 2 isn't canon?

Second problem I have. People saying the Midwestern Brotherhood have the ability to make their own Power Armour. I ask. Where in the game is it said they have that ability? Is it because the armour is different then it was in Fallout and Fallout 2?

If they could make their own armour then one would think every memeber of the BoS are given their own PA but that is not the case. PA is rare and only the elite units get it.

If you can explain these questiona and prove me wrong I would be happy to hear it. If not I would like a statement made that these are not inconsistencies but speclation.

User-created render Edit

Hello Ausir ;)

Well, I have a small problem with the fan-made policy. Like we known, The Vault prohibits any content based on fan-made (mods, fan-fics, fan-arts etc.) for the best (I fully agree with this policy), but actually, some pages used fan-made render which are extremely similar and faithful to the original subject which they related (like the render of the Highwayman or the Atomic V8's render).

For that, I don't know what to do. Remove them was sincerely a pity because the fidelity of the color, design, Fallout quality are here. But it seems be the most reasonable thing to do since they are fan-made. Well, I want to have your opinion for that before I do the removing. Itachou [~talk~] 18:07, June 16, 2011 (UTC)

Liverpool F.C.Edit

I noticed the blog news reel you lot have on the side of your main page on this site. It is something I have seen on other wiki's and would really like to implement it on my own. I was wondering if you could take some time out of your schedule to help us make a similar one for our news page. While we are someone decent with wiki format I fear we are poor at the necessary coding it would take to create such as thing. News and rumours are a big part of football and rather than flood article space with this news the News blog space would really help our site out. Thanks for taking the time reading this! Luckmann again Edit

What's the word on allowing Holocaust deniers onto the wiki? Apparently Mr Varenus Luckmann believes that the holocaust didn't happen:

Anyone who still honestly believe in the holocaust are deaf to reason.

Of course people were killed. But the question is whether or not there was an organized genocide on a large scale, for which the forensic evidence are nonexistent, eyewitnesses notwithstanding. Also, you claim that you know our views on jews and people that doesn't fit "the perfect race", yet you appear to know absolutely nothing about national socialism beyond the emotional, reactionary level, taught to you by forces I would consider hostile to ALL life, not just my own.

In case he hides the comments, I've screenshotted them for posterity. I can make them available to you if you want. Personal_Sig_Image.gif Tagaziel (call!) 13:47, June 19, 2011 (UTC)

@Tag: Luckmann is allowed to have whatever political background he wants according to the policy. You both have your differences, that's that. Stop spamming these childish payback arguments in all the blogs. You spammed non-topic Nazi rants halfway through the entire LulzSec answers post.

In the blog, Luckmann never stated he was a Nazi. He didn't do anything on the blog to make a Nazism rant. You instead just had to bring it up his Nazism in the first reply from absolutely nothing. You started the argument about Luckmann, when Luckmann never did anything in his comment. It would seem, that you were looking for an argument.

"except his own"

- Luckmann

I see absolutely nothing that could trigger a Nazi rant in that post.

Please stop. This political bull has gone too far. All this is just going to make stupid polls about making what Users talk about more restrictive. Trolly Polly Olly 13:58, June 19, 2011 (UTC)

Flame WarEdit

Can you delete the pointless Nazi argument Tagaziel pointlessly started in the LulzSec thread please? AutoWikiBrowser Edit

I have recently found and been trying out AutoWikiBrowser for the last 2 days. It is a semi-automated wiki editor that suggests and implements formatting changes for a page being edited (I have also coded it for additional things like decapping etc.) Now it states that it isn't a bot (although it can be used for that I believe, I have yet to test that feature), but on the other side it is still semi-automated. Now the question is, should I create and be using it on a bot account only when using the bot feature (ie: if I used it to correct pages linked to redirects), or should I use it on a bot account at all times. User avatar tagUser Avatar talk 20:39, June 21, 2011 (UTC)

Well atm I am using it to supplement my edits to pick up on the smaller things I may sometimes miss and have to go back and edit again for (ie: forgetting to decap/cap a instances of a word). Now for the last 2 days it hasn't increased my normal edit count (in fact I think I edit a page less often as I am getting more done in the initial edit), but it is improving the quality of the edits overall. Its just the semi-automated nature of it. So what you are saying is that if I am editing along side it, then it is fine. But for bot like edits, then I should use it on a bot account. As for the bot account, do I need to do anything special for that or just open a normal user account? User avatar tagUser Avatar talk 21:05, June 21, 2011 (UTC)

For example, I've been a member since February 27, 2010, but the page still says June 23, 2011. I don't know if you can do anything about it, or its something that Wikia needs to deal with. Samurai's sword Edit

Hello Ausir ;)

I see long time you have proposed to merge the Katana cut content and the samurai's sword, and try to find a solution for these pages. Porter have also made a proposition and I think it's a very nice proposition that can solve all the problems with these pages.

The proposition is:

  • Rename the page "Samurai's Sword" into "Samurai's sword" without changing the content (this term is generally used in English like samurai sword for talk about Katana, it's not a proper name - also shown on the text's page, only the title need to be corrected)
  • "Katana" is renamed "Katana (cut content)" - a cut content weapon is extremely secondary and thus enabled to avoid confusion while still keeping the page correctly and the real title, many people make mistakes because of the title
  • "Katana" redirect on "Samurai's sword", avoiding confusion again for many people who don't even of a cut weapon and to have quick access to the page without problem, in addition to allowing background information on the subject.

Question Edit

Hi I saw you were the top of the Admin list so thought you might be the one to ask this of. The wiki has a page for the G.E.C.K editor, would it be good having pages for other editors? For users of Xbox there is an editor for Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas that allows editing things like item condition, character levels, EXP, stats, inventory etc. I use these myself and know they are just like a means for using console commands on an xbox. I can give links if needed, just wondering if it would be a good thing to have for the users of Xbox.--Alpha Lycos 07:03, June 26, 2011 (UTC)

Swampfolk and trogs Edit

With all the other Fallout 3 creatures, variants introduced with other add-ons are flagged with the appropriate icon (Example: Super mutant overlord fo3bsGametitle-FO3 BS, Swamplurk fo3plGametitle-FO3 PL). what do you mean official wiki status do you mean that is now part of wikiapedia? because thats the site hes refering people to. and yes he is promoting there site on our wiki in his talk pages he is directing people to their wiki. id like to know if we can have him pulled off of bcrat as he no longer particapates in this wiki. this is a quote from his page. there was a link but it wont post but yea hes linking people to that wiki.

also this is gonna sound crazy but the other wiki contacted the creator of our wiki telling him to shut down this wiki and that spacebear was already working with them.

long story short we would like him not to be an admin or b-crat anymore. this isnt just me either. its also the other bcrat. please just take a look at his talk page it still has stuff on there telling people to go to that wiki--HeroGaming 11:39, June 29, 2011 (UTC)

Fallout Answers policies/guidelines Edit

I recently took initiative and gave the Fallout Answers site a face lift because it had gone downhill severely since I first joined. I started by writing up a policies and guidelines page for the site hoping that it would improve the quality of the questions there (and it did). I also started enforcing the policies more strictly. But I have a problem: As you know, every time a new user joins, they are auto messaged telling them to edit there page, patrol the activity feed, etc. I was wondering as to how a link to the policies and guidelines could be fitted in the auto message. Fallout 1 and 2 Edit

I know you are often very busy, and couldn't get back to my unrelated first message, but I would like to discuss an idea with you. Fallout 3 has a walkthrough, as does New Vegas presumably, but the orignals are lacking them. I would like to propose that some of the older game players, such as you and I, get together to form more effective walkthroughs as well as a large one for the main quests. It is, after all, the reason I joined this wiki. I would therefore like to set up a project, perhaps Fallout 1 and 2 Quest walkthrough project and lead this. I would also like your permission more than anything and some help setting it up. I would be happy to spend a large amount of time doing this project if required, but unfortunately wouldn't know how to set it up, get people to join etcetera so I would like a bit of help. Please get back to me if you can, or point me in someone elses direction. Thanks for your time, TheGuardianCalligraphyGuardianoftheWastesTag 21:13, July 6, 2011 (UTC).

Thank you for getting, back to me. I was discussing this with Itachou, too, and I feel that these guides, which I was unaware of, are helpful enough. I will however add information from them to our quest pages single-handedly as there is no need for a project due to these guides. I am sorry for [what I now feel was] wasting your time, and would like to apologise for this; I know how valauble it is to everyone here :). I've grown to rely on Cartman for advice, and so has Higgey, so all the evidence was shown to him, and this only confirmed what Cartman thought already. When she moved to the chat, she started typing about it, and Cartman, I and Higgey told it our theory, based on the evidence. She then took offence, and thinks that this is a "breach of adminship". Offensive Name Edit

Due to Jspoel blocking my name due to it being offensive ( Which is the basis for this ), I've been told to contact a Bureaucrat by him. The reason ( I'm guessing ) he wanted me to do this is because he feels that my name is extremely offensive, and that it was right for him to permablock me, with the only option was for me to change my name. The problem was, I didn't know how. I was in the Vault Chat at the time, and made a comment about it. Turns out an admin ( Crazy sam10 ) heard me. I asked him to ask Jspoel how he thought it was offensive. Since he didn't think it was offensive himself ( Nor the rest of the Vault Chat ), he contacted Jspoel and brought him into the chat. After some debating, he granted me a single day of time to send a message to a Bureaucrat. Since I don't have much other choice, I'm simply sending this to appeal to be allowed to have this name permanently. Thanks for your time. Maggots! 00:59, July 9, 2011 (UTC)

  • I think that it can be taken offensive, but if it's ok with you, I can live with it.
  • About those marked locations, what do you want to do with it? I see people decapping them and understand their reason because they're not proper nouns. Personally I still have a slight preference for all marked locations to be uppercapped like on the world map, unmarked locations decapped (think that's because I use it a lot in the game and find it strange to see the marked locations be decapped here). And how do you want the font of the map marker in the infobox, bold or just plain? Both exist at the moment. And a few days ago I was working on Radiation suit. I've split them for FO3 and FNV because one has a DT of 0, the other 1. Same with Advanced radiation suit. You would almost say they can be merged with a remark they have a different DT. On the other hand, if next games have the the radiation suit too, the list may become a bit long and unclear. I have similar questions about items, that will be for another day (or maybe forum). JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 12:49, July 9, 2011 (UTC)
  • Oh yes, is it possible to add the Fallout 3 unmarked locations to the achievement track? And how do you assign a specific category to a track? I've done some experimenting on my own (very small) wiki and couldn't figure it out. Does the Wikia staff has to do it? Just wondering.

Just now I noticed your message about Pipgirl. I don't know enough about it to say if (s)he's telling the truth about her gender or not. Patch Changes Edit

I have a question as to policy. The issue is whether older game exploits should still continue to be posted following patch changes. Are they kept listed after patch citing the patch number that would make them out of date or is it policy to simply delete all pre-patch content? I ask because I've run into a situation where large sections of content are being thrown out do to the recent update. --Xclockwatcher 21:45, July 9, 2011 (UTC)

OWB suit Edit

I got this message from Xe3 earlier, decided that it was for the best to send it on to you:

"I was waiting for an admin to come on but they havn't yet and I was just going to send this to whoever was on before I left:

  • Firstly another Admin Moved Sneak Suit to Sneak suit for decapping.
    • But then a user moved Sneak suit to X 13 something Sneak Suit
      • and then a third user moved only the main page and not the talk page to Sneak Suit
  • The page needs to be decapped (from what I'm seeing off other pages) but can't because the "page already exists" and also the talk page need to be put back with it.
    • I thought it would be best to let an admin do it, before I tried to fix it and cause any other damage.

So here it is! Hugs Scar: "Say 'ello to my little friend!" 04:06, July 10, 2011 (UTC)

Policy Edit

Hello my friend ;)

I saw that you are against the idea of pure and non-pure human (even if you speculated for Eden dialogue, and even with the evidence show in Fallout 2 - Fallout 3). For you, how to tell if a character lie or if telling the truth?

But anyway what the fuck? The Vault use this designation in the infobox already, why all of this was therefore not corrected sooner? Fallout 2 has still over 13 years! This is not the first time that I create an unwanted and unnecessary conflict just because I respect the policy of The Vault. There is a real problem with that. Chatroom problems Edit

Ausir, a few days ago we had an unwanted situation in the chatroom while there were only normal users present. User:DR.EdwardRichtofen1943 was really causing trouble there, seeing the reactions here. So the problem is we don't have it on record, and have to believe it on the word of users. What do you want to do with Richthofen? If it is decided to keep the chat feature (which is popular I believe, though keeping users away from editing), then we need some kind of (short-term) chat-log, which registers conversations for admins to consult. Also some trusted users could be appointed to chat-moderators. And at the moment us admins needs to manually remove the bannedfromchat checkmark. It would be much better so separate the kickban into kick, and ban (Avatar's idea). With kick being banning them from chat (possible for chat-moderators and admins), and ban which also blocks them from the wiki (only possible for admins). And at the same time being able to set a time-frame for it. I'll send this post also to Porter, as I think a speedy solution is needed. JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 13:24, July 11, 2011 (UTC)

Tracks Edit

Post below no urgency

  • I know where I can customize them, I don't know how to assign a category to it. For example, I assume you typed Fallout: New Vegas creatures in the Create new track for category: box when you created the New Vegas creatures track. But how does it know the category (so in this case the pages in Category:Fallout: New Vegas creatures) for which it needs to count the edits? Does the name you give to the track need to be the exact same name as the category? JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 02:42, July 12, 2011 (UTC)

Customized Fallout quest badgesEdit

Ausir, I have customized the Fallout quests achievement badges and would like to upload them, replacing the standard ones. I've looked at the names you gave them and added a related image. Is the replacement ok with you? What names should I give them? Given the names of other badges I take it you want a specific name for them. And earlier I asked you about the font of the map marker name in the infobox. You want it bold or just plain? JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 15:29, July 14, 2011 (UTC)

Ylianos send me this today. Might be worth looking into.

I wanted to contact you personally, you being the Overseer of this whole site, about a chastisement I received from one of your site administrators, Jspoel. I had this quite un-funny message on my talk page for a day ( and apparently Jspoel thought I had "insulted other editors", and rewarded me with a 24-hour block of communications on this site.

This leaves me at a rather confused state; how does a site administrator punish a recently joined member of this site for such a pity delict of code of conduct. I fully understand the nature of what I did was somewhat wrong, but judging the message was NOT directed at anyone at all - and it was on my page all along - I'd say the punishment doesn't fit the crime. I would have surely complied shoud the dear administrator have just contacted me and advised me not to keep such things on my talk page. Are we talking about an administrator misjudgement of authority, a bad day for Jspoel or just so he could get an achievement/trophy/pat in the back for some penalizing-quota?

Speaking of achievements, my opinion of such rewards on objective information and fan-based sites like this has been skeptic at best. I think achievements, such as "X amount of edits in a day" cause an enormous amount of unnecessary "contributions", such as changing of grammar to replace an adverb or something instead of adding of useful information. I think what you have tried to gain by creating this whole achievement based points-system was more activity on the wiki, but to be frank, I think it's a twin-tipped sword and will cause more harm than gain in the long run. That is to say, what I'm suggesting is a removal of such an uncesessary point-structure, since it might lead to misuse of adminstratorship - such as creating achievements purely for rewarding yourself with points. Again, this kind of situation could potentially lead to more devastating effects, such as the Vault turning into an achievement whoring site, with points being to whole point of the existence of an account instead of contributing to Fallout-based information. Which would indeed kill the whole idea of wiki in itself.

With all due respect and no amount of asskissing, I feel somewhat controversial about the Vault because of my experiences - being a huge Fallout fan -, but then again I see all this potential. Vault has provided me with information otherwise unobitainable throughout the years and I hope it will keep doing that.

Peace and most importantly love,

--Everybody dies. 16:32, July 14, 2011 (UTC)Yliannos

I stick with my decision for blocking him for a day. Users sending him a post shouldn't be confronted with such a quote on a talkpage. Everyone with a little common sense should understand it can be taken as a personal insult. JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 16:52, July 14, 2011 (UTC)

Pytanie, mapper Edit

Valiant 11 page; Astronautix domain 'permanently' down; new image link Edit

I got my first introduction, and apparently my sad goodbyes as well, to this site: which, after apparently 17 years as one of the most visited space sites; has close its doors EXACTLY 1 WEEK before I first had heard of it.

I found it through the 'Notes' section of the Valiant 11 page, the bullet noting the visual similarity between V11 and the RW Russian lander 'LK.' LK was linked to the relevant Astronautix page.

Since that site is now (apparently permanently; visit link) down; this link will need a new external article to link to. Unless this 'Notes' tibit is inappropriate due to being a RL reference, I'm really not sure.

I thought I'd send it to you and be done with it.

Tezzla Cannon - Trolly Polly Edit

I have blocked both accounts for 1 year for circumventing the previous ban imposed on Tezzla, after seeing the following in the chat logs I have been creating.

  • Trolly Polly
  • I am a successful Troll of this Wiki since February 2010 and I am the alternate account of someone whom you may know. Because Trolling is stupidely frowned upon by Society, everyone will probably vote me down for that reason.
  • 2:27
  • Skankyy
  • nope
  • 2:27
  • The Wanderer that is Alone
  • Let me guess Tezzla Cannon.
  • 2:27
  • Skankyy
  • yerp
  • 2:27
  • YakovFrolov
  • Do your dance... Do your dance... Do your dance quick mom :)
  • 2:27
  • Trolly Polly
  • Good job!

After looking into it, the account was created the day after you changed the ban on Tezzla and Tezzlas account was created in Feb 2010. So the admission in chat plus these 2 facts leads me to believe beyond a doubt that they are one and the same. Just leaving you this message in case you wanted to confirm this. Robot Project Edit

Hey, I was wondering why not start a new project to set up all the robot pages just like the creature pages? Robots like Robobrains and Mister Gutsys (Gutsies?) all have variants of their own. For example, the Robobrain Mk3 (current does not have a page anyways) is a OWB variant of a Robobrain. Vault Suggestion - Vault radio? Edit

Hey there Ausir, im just here to make a suggestion that I thought would be neat, as we have a live chat I thought perhaps would could have a Vault Radio as an extension of the chat? With live DJs and or radio-bots that play their own mixes and also take suggestions from listeners.

Music would be any genres and DJs could be elected and schedueled times to be on and such.

I have experience in DJing as I have been a DJ for an IRC chat radio and I could DJ for a vault radio if permitted, but this is just a suggestion and I shouldn't get ahead of myself, anywho thank you for time.

Moderators Edit

I can see some merit in the idea, but I'm not sure whether e.g. people who are active in chat but do not edit the wiki much otherwise should be given rollback rights. I'll think about it some more. -- Porter21 (talk) 13:09, July 27, 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, I guess it's a matter of which way you look at it. The way I was looking at it was that I wouldn't necessarily want people who only fulfil the criteria I set for chat mods in my recent forum thread to automatically gain rollback rights, since none of those criteria actually judge whether they know their way around our editing practices. But if you look at it the other way round, i.e. that all rollbacks should automatically get chat mod rights, that's fine with me. We'd then have to be more careful with giving out rollback rights though; we've occasionally given them to people who, while dedicated, were not deemed ready to receive blocking rights (and chat mods do have some sort of blocking rights).
The other question would be how to name the new "rank". I feel "moderators" might be confusing since it's a term which often is applied to admins around here. -- Porter21 (talk) 13:23, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
Okay, if you think it's clear enough, fine with me. Regarding formal criteria, maybe 250+ edits in the article/category/template namespaces plus 2 months of continued activity? Seems kind of low, but then the admin criteria aren't much higher. We should probably require a community vote (like for admin requests) as well.
What about the current rollbacks - should we make them re-apply for the moderator "rank" or simply elevate them automatically? I'd be more in favour of making them re-apply.
By the way, you should really archive your talk page some time :P -- Porter21 (talk) 10:21, July 28, 2011 (UTC)

'Defender' Edit

Hello there Ausir. Sorry to bother your most likely very busy schedule. I sort of have a dilemma. For the past 13 days, I have been working very hard and contributing vast amounts of good information to the wiki. I believe there is a profile badge called 'Defender' that I was also one day away from obtaining. I couldn't contribute to the wiki yesterday as there was a fault in my power line and I couldn't go on the Internet, and therefore contribute for my 14th and final day to earn the badge. I know this isn't really a huge deal, but I feel I do deserve it. If you can look into that matter for me, I would really appreciate it. Thank you, regards, ButterflyKiss 03:59, July 28, 2011 (UTC)

You may have heard that I've followed in Crazy sam's footsteps of weekly polls and if you haven't, it makes my point all that more strong. I was wondering if I could post my Weekly Wednesday polls in the news feed as well, along with Crazy sam. It really would be nice, since my blog space doesn't see much activity and my polls usually see about 10 voters, sometimes even less. If you could let me know before Wednesday, August 3, I would be very appreciative. Best regards, Kastera (talk) 21:48, July 29, 2011 (UTC)

Hello Ausir. I am very sorry to trouble you, as I know you are a very busy man, but I'm here to request a change in username. For the past few months I've been known as Nashorn1127, which, although I consider it a nice enough name, I don't feel suits me very well, nor does it reflect my wiki of choice, The Vault. After doing some reasearch, I am almost certain that there is not a user named Victor on the Wikia network. I would like my username changed to Victor, because it reflects my favorite wiki to visit, and he is also one of my favorite minor characters in Fallout: New Vegas. infobox from database table? Edit

Could infoboxes be generated from entries in a database table? It appears to me that the data is hand entered page by page. If data is expanded or corrected, then pages have to found and manually updated. An example would be the Fallout_3_weapons, Brass knuckles, DPS is 9, on the Brass_knuckles_(Fallout_3), DPS is 9.5.

I suspect that this may involve a lot of work, but consider the possibilities: Compare weapons side-by-side (how does the Backwater rifle compare to an Alien atomizer), compare creatures to weapons (is a Gauss rifle overkill for a mole rat?), etc..

Has this been discussed elsewhere? I'm pretty new to this wiki thing, so I may have missed a memo or three.

Sorry to bother you Edit

The Nuclear weapons page seemed to need an overhaul, and this is even a forum question. I think that the biggest problem with the page is that the inconsistancies page has caused a lot of problems. I feel this is because it is more like an essay than a piece of objective writing, and so I would like your express permission to remove it. I know that this may seem petty, but I know that if I were to do it without your permission, it would lead to a frenzied edit war. And last. I have been banned from Vault chat. And I was wondering if I could be "Re-instated" back into it.

Sister Wiki Edit

I see, well that is where it now sits and it seems the general thought is that the Bueaucrats are the only ones able to make the decision. Either way thank you for responding. Sombar1 13:44, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

Repost; Rollback Edit

"Anyway, as I was trying to tell you in chat is that both Cartman and Crazy Sam has told me to ask you for Rollback rights. After letting that little thought grow in my head, I decided to ask you. Can I have this weapon, this that you call "Rollback rights", to counter vandalism and wrongful editing?"

It just occrued to me that I sent you that a month (I think?) back, and haven't got a response yet. I understand that you're busy (if your talkpage is any indication), but if you feel that I'm not ready for it, could you tell me, so I don't have to feel as if I'm waiting? Death and Taxes Edit

Death and Taxes just vandalized another user page. In this change log, he used your name, and said that "we will fall". How clever of him to be persistent and used another I.P address. But he haven't succeded just yet. Have a nice day and see you soon. --gauzzrifle 10:24, August 13, 2011 (UTC)

chat mods - EB683 Edit

Hello Ausir. As you know, we recently added several new Chat Mods. I try to put as much time as I can into helping the Vault, but unfortunately, I'll be going back to University on Wednesday, and my time will be dramatically reduced. I was wondering if User:EB683 could be made a chat mod? He was designated by Porter as one of the back-ups in the recent vote, and is available at the same times I am, so he seems like an obvious choice to cover the slack. I would normally ask Porter, but he seems to be on vacation, and Jspoel agreed with me, but told me to ask you first. Thanks in advance. BILLYOCEAN 17:12, August 13, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for responding on the topic of Fallout Tactics inconsistencies. Many of them are way to speculative. I keep seeing the topic of fossil fuels pop up as well as the BoS being able to make power armour. I am not sure if you remember my original message to you on those but there is no mention at all of fossil fuels or the bos being able to make power armour.

I am also not happy with saying that Fallout Tactics use of WW2 weapons and other weapons before the timeline split as an inconsistency.

I am upset because Bethesda has called the "High-Level" Events of Fallout tactics as canon. Until they go into detail about what they see as "high-level," I consider all of Tactics canon.

I would like for the inconsistencies section locked and for it not to include any mention of Fossil Fuel or the BoS bein able to make Power Armour.

Also for Hairy Deathclaws? Why can't they just be another species or a sub species? Maybe they were created for colder areas of China like the himalayan mountains?

My View on Vault Zero and it's role in the Fallout Universe

The Vaults in Secret were used by the Enclave for their secret social experiments and they were the only ones that knew about the Enclave Oil Rig and the Vault experiments. On paper and as sold to the American people, the Vaults were all meant to save people. People would go in, ride out the nuclear war or other event in safety and come out and start over. They would have never gone along with the Vault experiments, they did not know about them because they were super secret Enclave plan.

Vault Zero was built because the Vaults would need a place to connect all the vaults to orchestrate the rebuilding. The American people had to see that their money was going to good use and that the Vaults would work together. Vault Zero was the public face for the Vaults. The grand show piece.

Enclave could not stop it from being built because logically the Vaults would need a nucleus, a place or orchestrate the Vaults. Other none Enclave people in the Government commissioned Vault Zero. The Enclave did not see a need for it. So they were the ones behind the many budget cutbacks which was the reason many of the Vaults backup systems were never installed. Which caused Vault Zero to fail and kill many of the none Enlave members of Government housed there. Money that was meant for Vault Zero was then embezzled by the Enclave and spent on their top secret Enclave plans, like the Enclave Oil Rig

Bureaucrat Edit

I have noticed the absence of bureaucrats in recent months. It is something that this week, I have actually been thinking about. So I may just go for it after your message.

As for Flower/Lugiatm, at the moment it is just a feeling, there a lot of similarities between the them and Aestune (minus the observations made by Gothemasticator on the last ban). It isn't enough to take any action, but I will be observing them ongoing just to make sure. User avatar tagUser Avatar talk 16:20, August 14, 2011 (UTC)

Fallout day Edit

On Oct 23 it is (in Fallout timeline) the day the bombs fell, luckily for me this falls on a sunday, but I thought instead of something serious, why not have a joke day? Like a 2nd April 1st. I was going to use the poll either way, but I wanted to tell you in case you wanted to use it for anything, also once you've read and remembered this could you delete it, I want this joke thing to be a surprise rather than April 1st where everyone knows your joking and it loses some impact. - Crazy Sam10 Talk PollShadowAttackSmallAni 23:25, August 15, 2011 (UTC)

Ban glitch Edit

Hello Ausir ;)!

We had a problem of ban (solved now) yesterday and since you are now a member of the Wikia Content Team, I wondered if you have a means to know what could produce this. I summarizes the story.

On 13 August, 2011, at 23:23, I banned a user (Arcadian Rook) for 3 days that you can see the justified reasons on his talk page.

Anyway, after a personal reflection and a discussion with Ghost on another linked subject, I think that 3 days was a bit hard and after 1 day have past, I removed the ban in the 14 August 2011 at 18:05 -> [25].

But yesterday, Scar tell me that Arcadian Rook approached him about the ban, through a seperate chat program, and stating the ban is still in place. After verification, the ban was well removed, since 14 August, 2011, at 18:05 you could see above. But sometime later in the same day, I received a message of Arcadian Rook, saying that the ban glitch seems to be fixed alone.

Anyway, it is something unacceptable that an unbanned person cannot make his activities normally, as if he was still banned and this could lead to other problems since we don't know the full extent of the glitch.

Since you're the only member of Wikia I know, I was wondering if you could take a look. If you don't have time or you cannot do that don't worry, I will ask someone else in Wikia or someone of your recommendation =). Have a nice day my friend and see you soon! Itachou [~talk~] 11:54, August 16, 2011 (UTC)

Interview Edit

Hey, thank you for replying and agreeing, and no worries at all about the delay. I could imagine you'd get swamped with requests =) I'll start writing up some questions - maybe coming up with more later on based on your initial answers - and we can do a back and forth via email if you'd like. Should I send them through to the Gmail address you have on your profile here? Willooi 00:18, August 17, 2011 (UTC)

Poll tomorrow Edit

I've got no objections to you doing tomorrows poll. I can take the week off. --Kastera (talk) 02:13, August 17, 2011 (UTC)

Hum... just a little mistake, for chameleon deathclaw I think you talk about experimental deathclaw? Because all deathclaws are chameleon in fact. Anyway nice poll idea my friend =). Also, I still wait your reply about the ban glitch, it's important for avoid another problem like that in The Vault (but since the number of messages in your talk page, take your time of course).
Have a nice day Ausir and see you soon ;)! Itachou [~talk~] 13:21, August 17, 2011 (UTC)

Hum I see =). Yes good choice, among the experimental deathclaws but also among other creatures, it was one of the most enjoyable in the game (with spitting radscorpions, poison dogs, nightkins in stealth armor and tesla robots). Itachou [~talk~] 13:33, August 17, 2011 (UTC)

FO1 and 2 Character ProjectEdit

Hello there. I see that you are currently on the Fallout 1 and 2 characters project page as a participant. However, you have not made any edits to the encompassed pages in some time. Please finish at least on page within one week, (so the 24th of August) or I will have to remove you. This is not personal, but the project needs to be finished so we need people to be actively participating. If there is a reason that you have been unable to do so, please contact me on my talk page within the month. Alternatively, if you do finish a page please note it in the appropriate place on the project page and then notify me on my talk page. Thank you and best wishes, TheGuardianCalligraphyGuardianoftheWastesTag.

A quick note: I am sending this to all participants Ausir, and there is no disrespect intended.

EDIT: Apologies, I cannot ask you to do that, but please do not forget about the project. Any activity is better than none :). Have a nice day. TheGuardianCalligraphyGuardianoftheWastesTag. Sorry Ausir

why you so mean?!?! Edit

come on Ausir, why did you delite my page "Vodka power"? i just wanted to make a page you jerk. you shouldnt be deliting peoples stuff. i had to work on that and you just delited my work. if you do it again on my page, ill delite your stuff, see how you like it. this is not a threat, you did this to someone, they will do it back. so dont please, if you dont delite another one of my pages, ill make you a gun (about 20+). just please dont delite my page again. thanks :)--Nikolai belenski 17:35, August 17, 2011 (UTC)

Weapon/armor Comparison Tables Edit

Sorry to trouble you once again my dear Ausir, but I have a little proposal for a new project. I have been bouncing the idea off people in the chat for a few hours now, and the reception has been very positive. The idea goes as this, taken directly from my original notes taken while attempting to compare 2 weapons from 2 separate wiki pages: "All weapons with unique counterparts and vice versa have boxes that compare the weapon with its unique versions. What if it were possible to have a box that could compare the weapon to any weapon you wish? It could possibly have a drop down menu or search box of some kind, and if you wanted to compare This Machine to the All-American, you could just go to one of the weapon’s pages, type in the other (or choose it from the list) and see the stats right in front of you! No longer will you have to switch from page to page just to see which weapon will help you take out that group of Fiends faster. The same idea could also be applied to Armor, which would be great for hardcore players wanting to get the best advantages for the weight of the clothing." Sorry if that was too long a read, but I believe if this could be done it would be very beneficial to the wiki as a whole. Your friend, VictorFaceMonitor Victor the Insane Cowboy Robot 15:43, August 19, 2011 (UTC)

Improvement of Fallout Demo information Edit

Hi Ausir ;)

I like to have your opinion on something.

As we know, many unused Vault Boy images can be found in the Fallout demo, that were primary intended to illustrate the GURPS stats (since all these Vault Boy have exactly the same name of a skill, advantage or disadvantage of GURPS) and then when Interplay make the decision to drop GURPS on February 12nd, 1997, they were kept in the demo for future use in the final version of Fallout, presumed for new perks and traits.

I wanted to improve the Fallout demo page by taking them one by one and putting what are the effects in GURPS, to give an idea of what might have been given this statistic and also give a more interesting sense for this page with some new informations that could be an interesting source, like Lionheart page and this information about the SPECIAL systems.

In another point, I wanted to put them with a proper page since they are still cut content and a handful of them were even include in Fallout games (like the Sex Appeal trait, which is a GURPS skill first, and also the Animal Friend, Empathy, Night Vision perks which are GURPS advantages first etc.) Itachou [~talk~] 16:11, August 19, 2011 (UTC)

Vault 13 Edit

I was playing through New Vegas the other day and i got a splash screen i'd never seen before, and i was wondering if you'd seen it or if it was the product of one of the fifty mods i'm using lol.

it was a series of loading splash screens talking about the Vault dweller being regarded as almost a myth in the NCR as no evidence of his existence remains, and the loss of vault 13. the president of the NCR used to sponsor contests to find the vault and they failed year after year, until he quit.

how this lines up with the Vault Dwellers book in the fallout2 Manual, and the fact Aryyo used the GECK and is probably a pretty big city up on the bluffs i have no idea..

anyway i figure'd i would message an admin as i havnt seen it sense and i havnt read anything about it in the wiki, though it IS 15k pages deep heh, have a good one.

Lonesome RoadEdit

A week or so before Lonesome Road is released, I am planning to change the FNV page creation templates to the LR layout. I had done changes to some templates for OWB in July, but still it cost me (and Itachou at the time) a lot of work correcting it (for example I hadn't done holodisks and notes, wish I had). So around 13 september I'd like to change those template as much as possible to LR layout. The FNV page creation templates aren't used that much right now anyway. Is this ok with you? Skyrim wiki. Edit

You really need to deal with the issues on your Elder Scrolls wiki. Rpeh and a few others from UESP have asked you to fix the admin/copyright problems and so far all the admins have done is drag their feet when it comes to the issues, harass the people complaining, and generally be worthless.

Your only competent admin, Timeoin, has been absent for weeks and the others can barely work a talk page much less run a wikia. You seem to be inactive there, so I'm leaving this here. It needs to be looked into. Problems, problems, problems. 08:33, September 12, 2011 (UTC)

I was wondering if you and your fellow admins would mind if I posted a link to my research project on your forum. Any information gathered is purely anonymous and for research purposes.

Below is the information I would be providing in the post:

Hi, I am a post-graduate student from Queensland University of Technology currently undertaking an academic research project into video game behaviours. This research aims to create a link between a player’s personality and their playing style. By establishing this link, we hope help developers better understand their gaming audiences, thus creating better gaming experiences. This survey is completely anonymous and voluntary. No names will be recorded or published and your individual results will not be published and all information will be used for purely academic purposes. Participants in the study who complete the study can choose to go into the draw to win a $100 Amazon (Amazon have no involvement with the study and neither they nor anyone else outside the research team will be given access to your data). If you choose to enter the draw for the voucher you will need to provide some basic contact information. However, your identity will not in any way be connected to your responses to the survey. By submitting this survey you are agreeing to have your results counted and utilised in the overall study. The following link will guide you to our online survey:

Your site features an ad to the top right which loads a video (which is fine), however - the ad also loads audio content which comes out at FULL VOLUME, which also comes out at a volume unacceptable to most people depending on their audio equipment and what they last listened to. I am someone who finds this unacceptable, and if you could simply pass this onto a site maintainer, or someone who can rectify this problem, I'd very much appreciate this. The ad - when finishing the video, sits idly. 15-25 minutes later however, it reloads. The cycle continues until it refers you to;GID=16914;SID=99890;CRE=223680419;PLA=341854193;ADI=223680419;REF=;;PAT=/if;SEA=enc=rkfhehSu1z-uR-F6FK7XPwAAAMDMzAhAAAAAAAAADEAAAAAAAAAMQC-UwsiT6JE3nGMvIUkk8h5QWHBOAAAAAGEwAAC1AAAA3AEAAAIAAABWLwoA0WMAAAEAAABVU0QAVVNEACwB-gCbC00AnRMBAgUCAQQAAAAA5Rx-RgAAAAA.&pubclick=!WBcDIAjtmggQ1t4oGAAg0ccBMAA4mxdAAEjcA1AAWABgxAFoAHAAeACAAQCIAQCQAQGYAQGgAQGoAQOwAQC5AQAAAAAAAAxAwQEAAAAAAAAMQMkBMzMzMzMz9z_ZAQAAAAAAAPA_4AEA&ccd=!VQVJLAjtmggQ1t4oGNHHASAA&referrer=

A note should be added to the Lonesome roads sections. If the player decides to blow up both the NCR and the Legion and has the Wild Wasteland perk, in the ending narrative there will be an image of the NCR/Ranger Statue partly burried in the sand. This is a reference to the statue of liberty burried on the beach from Planet of the Apes. 30 seconds into the video link shows the narrative image and the second link shows the still from planet of the apes. a2a3f43b3950b0f545c9f3bb0a66f526-l.jpg

put a spolier marke there where could be any spoiler!!!!

"War, War never changes" Coming from something that is trying to "protect" Fallout and it's universe (and image), It's in my opinion that adding the quote "War, War never changes" to a Copy/Paste of a legal battle over the Fallout MMO, only SULLIES the current and (struggling) validity of the Fallout Universe.

My point: It wasn't witty, it wasn't called for, and it only further damages the concept and causes many more to agree with the fact "HURRDURR FALLOUT IS HURRRR NOW"

The end all is: Ron Perlman's speech across ALL the games shouldn't be so misused to the point to be ubiquitous with the fact that the Fallout MMO is having legal battles.

I get shivers down my back EVERY time I hear "War, war never changes." This only perverts the statement. --Boldt Brojob Corderman 10:50, September 24, 2011 (UTC)

Now that there are three perks that can directly effect critical damage. Better Criticals, Lucky to be Alive and Elijah's Ramblings. Maybe its time for them to be included in the weapon stastics. Hello. Here and here you can find a discussion between me, Languorous.Maiar and GhostAvatar. The cause of the dispute is the fact that Languorous.Maiar put Mariposa super mutant instead of just Super mutant in the Race infobox field in numerous articles e.g. Erkal and other Fallout Tactics characters. As GhostAvatar has rightly pointed out, it is impossible to determine if those characters are first or second generation super mutants. Can you please say your opinion on this matter? FNV creatures project Edit

I think it would benefit you to know that the Fallout: New Vegas creatures project has been completed. All the creatures have finally been filled in, so that's the last of them. Maybe you should officially announce this? On a related note, the Fallout 3 creatures project only needs one more creature filled in (Abomination). --Kastera (talk) 23:15, October 20, 2011 (UTC)

P.S. It may be time to archive your talk page. --Kastera (talk) 15:44, October 23, 2011 (UTC)
Yes, I wouldn't mind either your talkpage being archived, it's getting really long. As for the creature projects, the super mutants still need conversion to the new layout for a large part. Once the Fallout 3 robots and computers is completed, I was planning to start with that if it's ok with you. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 15:58, October 23, 2011 (UTC)

Rollback Edit

Hi there, I've been editing on the wiki for a bit now, and I was wondering if you be so kind as to grant me the rollback rights? HighFiveBearLeftHighFiveBearRight 07:04, October 23, 2011 (UTC)
