Ladies and gentlemen, we interrupt your regular scheduled broadcast to bring you the Weekly Saturday Polls!

I used to be your host, Yes-Man, but you can just call me Yessie. And with all the new faces in the crowd, I'm sure a lot of you have no idea who I am! It sure has been a while since I've updated the Weekly Polls; almost four months now. A lot has changed since I've been gone... new people have come, old ones have gone. We gained a few administrators and lost one too. And some of us have new names! (Looking at you, Siggy)
I apologise to all the poll fans whom I left hanging when I went on holiday, but life has a way of getting really busy really fast and the stress of everything around me has been getting too much. The Wiki was just something that I didn't (and frankly, still don't) have time for. But regardless, I thought I should give you all one last poll with Dead Gunner's consent. It's the least I can do after having missed so much with the community - Christmas, Halloween, surviving the Apocalypse, the finale of Fallout Wiki Apprentice, Chad becoming an admin, Jspoelstra's 100,000th edit and the Fallout Anniversary.

Oh, and it's already Saturday here in Australia, so the poll isn't early. Just thought I'd point that out. Now, as always, I usually add some question to ask in the comments. So along with y'all saying your well wishes (or angry letters) on account of this being the last time you see me, I want you to include your favourite song. Mine's Starman by David Bowie, for all those wondering.

Last Week's ResultsEdit

That's enough sentimental hoo-hah (is that a word?), it's time to read out last week's results. Dead Gunner asked three questions, with the first being Which Fallout 3 DLC was your least favorite?

The results are as follows:

Bringing home the bronze medal in third was The Pitt with 45 votes! I guess you could say it's really the Pitts! ... is the microphone on?
The silver medal goes to Operation: Anchorage, coming in second with 67 votes. I guess the Great War wasn't so great after all.
And the gold medal for worst Fallout 3 DLC goes to Mothership Zeta with an impressive 169 votes! It had everything; aliens, cowboys, a samurai and space-battles. Probably why it sucked so hard.

The second poll asked Which game has the best weapons? Results are as follows:

In third place was Fallout 2 with 15 votes! I'd say something witty here but I've never actually played it!
Coming in second with 28 was Fallout 3! One of the only games where you can kill a man with a rocket-launched teddy bear.
And in first place with 128 votes was Fallout: New Vegas. *Cough* Bozar *Cough*

And the third poll, asking What kind of questions do you prefer in the poll? Let's hear it:

Third place goes to Gaming questions with a dismal 4 votes. I'll include some High School Musical: The Game questions for those four.
Second place with 78 votes was I don't really care! No, that's not me trying to be funny; the community really doesn't care.
And numero uno is, surprise surprise, Fallout Questions with 233 votes! Who'd have thought, being the Fallout Wiki and all?

Now, usually I have a heap of questions lined up to ask, but being a special week and all I'm going to go back to the start and ask the very first Weekly Saturday Poll question I asked back on May 5th, 2012, when I stood in for MysteryStranger by chance one day.
I'm sure you've all guessed by now what the first question is going to be, but I'll say "drumroll please" regardless. So, drumroll please...

What is the best Fallout game?

But I ain't stopping there. Excuse me while I write off some fun questions off the top of my head. Without further ado, let's do what we came here to do...

And how about the ol' special addition.
Ninja-Nuke asked me long ago, What miscellaneous item do you randomly collect? Well, I collect Nuka Cola Quantum and Sugar Bombs because of those side-quests in Fallout 3. I also picked up every single Sarsaparilla Sheriff Badge in Fallout: New Vegas. Boone and I both wear one everywhere. So, tell me Nukapedia. What silly item do you obsessively collect?

That's it folks. I'd add more but I'm sure you're already spoilt for choice.
So tell us. Favourite Fallout game? I'm sure it'll be a tie between Fallout 3 and Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel. How about which character you want to see in a future Fallout game? The obvious suspects are there; Marcus, Harold, Sulik. But perhaps you want to see the Courier return? Or battle it out with Frank Horrigan again?
Preferred method of murder. I know I like using big guns - a sniper rifle is all I need. Or spookiest Fallout monster! Personally, I think Yao Guai are terrifying for low-level characters, but there are plenty of other creatures that'll go bump in the night. I hate sneaking through Vault 87 alone without the radio on...
And for the four of you who chose Gaming Questions in last week's poll, don't forget to vote on the special addition just for you guys! Troy is a dreamboat! (I watched the movie once, shut up)

So it's been a long time since I joined. Not as long as most people, but a good year and a half. I started off as an anonymous user on Fallout Answers, answering questions because I wanted to help people out. I decided I might as well sign up so I could keep track of my contributions, and lo and behold, we had Yes-Man... someone had taken the name Robert House. We all know me by now; I might not be the most popular amongst most circles because of some of my past actions. I've left the Wiki and came running back more times than I can count. Each time I had a big dramatic speech. It was because for some reason, I always cared what people thought of me. I always wanted people to like me, both in real life and on the internet, so I didn't act like myself. But after recent events in life I've sort of risen above that.
I guess I just don't have time for this Wiki anymore, nor do I need it. I've found people who appreciate me for who I am in my own life, something I didn't have but always wanted when I joined last year. But of course I can't forget how wonderful you've all been to me. Scarface, if you're out there reading this, you'd probably make a comment on how I must be attached to this Wiki by a string. You were always my best friend here, no matter what I said. TwoBears, I guess Team Awesome isn't awesome enough for the two of us, so you'll have to go solo from now on. Keep being awesome. Agent C, I remember when you first started the Wiki Digests, I thought who is this anonymous dude who thinks he can fill Ausir's shoes? The truth is, your feet were too big for Ausir's shoes, because he has nothing on you. Plus you have a rocking singing voice. Kingclyde, I've given you too much undeserving hassle and for that I'm sorry. You're a great bureaucrat; I'm just a jealous fool. Hawk, Joe Budden isn't that bad. I mean, he's no David Bowie, but regardless. (peace). Old World Relics, you're a great guy. If it weren't for your comment, I wouldn't be back here. Mind if I quote you?

Rob, alot of us miss you, and those that don't are terrible people. I don't care if they get mad at me for saying that. It's true. Sure you had a few "hiccups" we all do one day. But you always had the wikis best interests in mind, even if it meant doing questionable things and questioning others. That is what made you so valuable.

Fallout: The Apprentice - "New Reno DLC"

	This page is a part of the Fallout: The Apprentice contest. It should not be confused with in game content

New Vegas and New Reno.
They go hand-in-hand, right? The bright casino lights on the surface hiding the dark underbelly below; the families all vying for monopoly over the unsuspecting Wastelander's greed. So naturally, if there's anywhere the Courier would feel at home, its right in Reno.

And judging by dialogue revealed throughout Fallout: New Vegas, its a place the Courier has called home - both according to Ulysses himself, and revealed through dialogue with Tops performer Bruce Isaac. Hell, its even in Nevada... I could go on. The point I'm trying to get at: There's no better place for a Fallout: New Vegas expansion than the biggest little city in the world itself, New Reno.

I mean, let's think for a second. There are already plenty of reusable assets:
Casinos? Check.
Mobsters? Check.
Gambling minigames? Check.
Its all laid out for a great DLC. And the link between Reno, Vegas and the Courier is already relatively established - both large gambling hubs, and the Courier has spent time in both cities. Not to mention Bruce Isaac, the man whom the Courier saw perform at the Shark Club before Isaac robbed Bishop (and slept with his daughter, but only a little), ultimately fleeing to Vegas to avoid the family's revenge.

Let's put things into perspective here. We're returning to Reno forty years after Fallout 2. Since then, the Chosen One's illegitimate son with John Bishop's wife has grown to become the new patriarch of the once-powerful crime family. But since the Enclave's defeat at the hands of the Chosen One, a turf war between the families threw the balance of power up in the air and it landed in the lap of no other than Orville Wright. The Salvatores died along with Louis, and the Mordinos lost their prestige once Myron was ironically killed by a jet addict, leaving them with no more claim over the drug than any Wastelander who can get his hands on some. Tiaret Van Graff (Gloria and John-Baptiste's mother), who operated out of Redding before the New California Republic annexed it and took control of trade, has since moved to Reno in an attempt at wresting power from Wright and becoming an even more powerful force to be reckoned with. Van Graff's already established empire puts her in the prime position to wrest control from Orville Wright.

However, the New California Republic is sitting idly by, waiting to see who takes control of Reno - at which point they'll swoop in and claim the city for themselves as a powerful trading hub that will help them in the battle against Caesar's Legion. This holds Tiaret back from engaging in a full-scale turf war with the Wrights until she can be sure the NCR are out of the picture.
Basically the main questline for the expansion would follow a simple concept:

The Courier finds themselves acting as the catalyst for Reno's vying powers to gain the upper hand. Will they work for the Wrights, who may not be the fairest leaders in Reno but have created an empire that the public have grown accustomed to? Or Tiaret Van Graff who promises order, albeit with a heavy hand? Perhaps the Courier will help the NCR in wiping out both sides to create an opening. Or maybe they want Reno for themselves - and they'll backstab anyone that gets in their way. It's a gamble, but hey - it's Reno. So who will you place your chips on?

The Courier will embark on a gritty tale of high living, low crimes, big shots with big egos and the people that cling to their every word. It will entail assassinating rival crime-bosses, undercover espionage to learn the family's darkest secrets, daring heists of the brightest casinos, escaping torture from captors and enacting torture on the captured and a lot of flashy shootouts in the grimy streets and swanky suites. Think of old Hollywood gangster films as the inspiration for this DLC.
The choices you make in the expansion will reflect on Vegas, and vice versa. For example, if the Courier takes care of Tiaret Van Graff, her Empire will weaken throughout the Mojave Wasteland allowing for the monopolisation of the Gun Runners who will employ travelling gun-caravans throughout major cities (Goodsprings, Freeside, Novac etc.) On the flip side, having already wiped out the Van Graffs in Vegas will give the Courier the option of boasting about it to Tiaret, effectively locking her questline out. The choices you make will have consequences.

All in all it's a tale in which everyone's story has many sides - how the public sees them, how they see themselves and how you see them. You have to decide what's more important; the survival of Reno, your own personal profit or even just getting out with your life. You can go in guns blazing like Al Capone, or you could try talking it out and working a compromise between the families.
Reno can suffer a variety of fates. Tiaret might be able to bolster the streets with her guns, but her own skewed perspective on order might be more than a little biased when profit is involved. More guns in the hands of the people might not make them safer - it's more than likely to put others in danger. The Wrights have always kept things under control and that's the way they like it. But is it the best for the people, when the common man is struggling in the streets and crime runs free as Orville turns a blind eye? The NCR might seem like the most noble choice for the future of Reno, but their cold outlook on order could stifle the city rather than let it thrive. As for the Courier - however they choose to rule Reno depends on the player.

But the most important thing to remember - what happens in Reno stays in Reno.

Good morning, afternoon, evening, night or other, and welcome to the Weekly Saturday Polls!

My name is Yessie, and I'll be your waiter this evening. Actually, that reminds me of a conversation I was having with a friend the other day. He recently went to a rather upscale restaurant; you know, the ones where they give you a giant plate but only a cubic centimetre's worth of food. Sparing the details, he payed quite a bit that evening... I don't terribly understand the whole fancy restaurant deal. I mean, you can buy a whole meal at some crappy fast food joint like McDonalds for a few bucks and you'll receive a ton more food than if you'd emptied your savings account for some piece of raw fish the size of your thumbnail drizzled in whatever sauce the chef could find in the kitchen. Really makes me wonder. Is there anything about high society that makes you sigh in disbelief of the self-absorbed vacuousness of the wealthy? Tell me about it in the comments.

Anyway, you didn't come here for my restaurant reviews. Moving on to last week's results, you were spoilt for choice with two polls. The first poll was regarding your favourite Fallout 3 side quest.

The results are as follows:

Coming in third, with seventeen votes, was the Wasteland Survival Guide! The one-stop quest for jumping off Megaton balconies, drinking the water around Cromwell's feet and purchasing land-mines to give to Moira. What fun.
In second place was You Gotta Shoot 'Em in the Head with 20 votes! Makes getting head-shots a real swift kick in the groin for anyone who chose "Bloody Mess"...
And in first place, with 28 votes, was Riley's Rangers! Clearly the community shares my love of killing Mutie bastards.

The second question asked Which cancelled Fallout title would you want to see released? The results are as follows:

In third place with 22 votes was Fallout for Playstation! It probably would have introduced me to the series long before Fallout 3 had it been released...

Once you're finished with that, we'll move on to last week's polls. Typical double poll, yadda yadda (not sure why I bother telling you guys each week). Anyway, the first question was What is your favourite Fallout 3 Vault?

The results are as follows:

In third place was Vault 108 with 26 votes. Gaaaary...
Coming in second we have Vault 112 with 28 votes. I just wonder what kind of idiot would willingly enter Tranquility Lane... oh, wait...
And in first with 39 votes was Vault 101! Hard to get in, even harder to get out.

The second question asked What is your preferred unarmed/melee weapon?. The results are as follows:

In third place with 56 votes was the Shishkebab! Too hot to handle, eh?
In second place we have the Ballistic Fist with 76 votes. Nothing more enjoyable than watching a Centurion's head fly off his body after a swift jab to the face.
And in first place was the Katana with 97 votes! I'll be honest, I never actually had this weapon in any of the games... was I missing out?

This week we have two more polls for ya'll.
The first comes from THIJAKA. Its another Fallout 3 poll so I apologise for putting one two weeks in a row. Anyway, these games pretty much thrive on side quests. Sure, you can cut the crap and go straight through the main quest (or in Fallout 3's case, straight to Rivet City), but where's the fun in that? There has to be one side quest that you all remember fondly, so tell us about it. Drumroll please...

But that's not all folks. The second poll comes from 174.62.194.21, with a rather interesting hypothetical. There have been plenty of Fallout titles which were never released... some of them we grieve over, the others we wipe the sweat from our brows and sigh in relief. But all in all, which would interest you the most? Feel free to check the Wiki to read up about them. Vote away...

If you could turn one villain into a good guy, which would you choose and why?
You can choose anyone from Richard Grey to Frank Horrigan, Colonel Autumn to Legate Lanius... your choice. Make sure to include a reason. Perhaps you'd want a powerful ally, or one less foe?

Oh, also, Maxibillion gave me the idea to design a mascot for the Neo-Enclave whatchamacallit, but instead of doing all the work myself, I figured that I'd let my loyal fans exercise their creativity. I want you to draw a picture of the mascot for the Neo-Enclave and send it in. I don't care if you're good or bad at drawing, but if you're feeling up to the task just give it your best shot. I'll proudly display the best designs in next week's editions of the polls for all to enjoy. If you wanted something to get you started on a design, you can take a look at my crappy attempt at making a Frank Horrigan-esque villain. The Searchlight Airport is a pre-War airport in the south-eastern Mojave Wasteland, south of Camp Searchlight. Its only entrance is a tunnel on the northern side of the airport.

BackgroundEdit

Before the War, Searchlight Airport was built by the United States airforce as an emergency landing zone of Nellis Air Force Base. The small building kept in contact with Camp McCarran via transmitter radio, and was one of the first locations in the Mojave to be prepared for the Nuclear Holocaust as a result. Unbeknownst to the public, the sub-levels below the building housed a secret military testing facility which were researching chemical warfare before the time of the Great War. In an attempt to escape death by nuclear holocaust, a small handful of survivors, led by a pilot by the name of Joseph McConnell, broke into the sub-levels and subsided there until after the bombs had dropped. Joseph donned a radiation suit and entered out into the horrific Wasteland to see what was left of America.

Realising that he and the other survivors had no chance at enduring the Wastes alone, Joseph returned to Searchlight Airport. Believing that the US Army would come and rescue them, he hid the key to the sub-levels within the airport, leaving a specific set of instructions as to its location. He then locked himself and the survivors inside the sub-levels. They all died soon after.

The Legion came across Searchlight Airport in 2281 and are ordered by Caesar to scout the location. They set up base inside and are able to use the radio transmitter in the control tower to keep in contact with a Legion spy within Camp McCarran. By the time the Courier reaches the airport, the Legion soldiers have all mysteriously died.

Outside the buildings, there are two trunks on the tarmac side of the main airport terminal, on the terminal outer wall, which contain a large amount of caps (depending on your level and Luck, it can range from 200 to over 1000 caps). The facility is crawling with radscorpions of various sizes.

There are four planes outside the airport. They are all very rusted and two have their landing gears stuck in junk piles, but they seem to be complete. Only one of these planes can be entered.

Main HallEdit

The only possible entrance is the main hall from the front of the building. It opens into a small room which leads to escalators heading down into a large open room. The player is greeted by the grisly scene of several dead legionaries, including a dead Centurion who has a note on his body. The player can read the note to learn that Caesar sent the Legion team to scout out the location, yet what went wrong is still a mystery. There is little in the main hall other than a makeshift encampment of the Legion, several weaker enemies such as geckos and radscorpions, and random levelled loot. There is a utility closet near the entrance which is locked upon entering, so from the hall the player can only enter the offices.

Offices

The offices are narrow, winding and dimly lit, making it difficult to navigate. They're also infested with feral ghouls and the occasional dead Legionary. Upon entering the offices, the player will find the first of Joseph McConnell's recordings on the desk in front of them. It introduces Joseph, explains what has happened to him, and notes that he's locked away with a group of survivors in the sub-levels with the first set of instructions to saving them being revealed. By this point, the player has no idea that Joseph and the other survivors are already dead, so the belief is that they're going to rescue trapped Wastelanders.
Making their way through the eerie offices, the player will get their first clue, and are told to head through to departures and hack into the computers. At the end of the offices is a door to the next area.

At the Departures, the player can come across a computer which, with a Science check of 50, can be hacked to reveal the code to the electronic control pad that's keeping the door to the Control Tower locked. If unable to pass the check, the player must traverse the area until they come across the password to gain access to the computer, "FlightTerminal1". The rooms are largely inhabited by radroaches, feral ghouls and in the room with the terminal password is a centaur. More dead Legionaries can be found, with a scrawled note on one of them filled with barely legible paranoid ravings. Once the player has received McConnell's note containing the keypad door code, they can proceed outside and enter the Control Tower.

Outside to the keypad, the code "2077" can be entered into the keypad to open the door. Entering the Control Tower, the player is met with the noise of static as they ascend the stairs. At the top of the tower is a dead Legion soldier holding a gun and slumped over the desk in front of a radio transmitter. The radio transmitter can be used to contact the Legion Spy at Camp McCarran if the player is doing the quest I Put a Spell on You. With a speech check of 75 or Legion fame, the player can convince the spy that they're an ally and learn who they are. With a medicine check of 30, examining the dead Legion soldier will reveal that they in fact committed suicide. The next clue from McConnell is found near the radio, advising to head to one of the jet planes outside and finding his suitcase.

The inside of the jet plane is a small, dimly lit corridor with a cockpit on one end and a cargo compartment at the back. There is also a Glowing One inside the small jet along with some cases of various ammunition scattered around. If the player has reached the Control Tower and received McConnell's note, there will be a suitcase in the back of the jet which inside has the key to the sub-levels and another note from McConnell. The note instructs the player to head back to the Main Hall and open up the utility closet, which then reveals a hatch leading to the sub-levels.

Sub-LevelsEdit

The sub-levels are irradiated, with the rad levels getting more intense the further in you go. The player comes across a group of long-dead survivors, one of which is lying next to a note, a gun and a radiation suit. If the note is read, its revealed that Joseph McConnell was actually a pre-War survivor along with others who hid inside the previously authorised sub-levels to escape the bombs. The player learns his story; when the bombs fell, the underground chemical-warfare lab within the sub-levels was put under great strain and a pipe burst leaking dangerous arsine gas into the air. The survivors were unaware and the gas caused them to slowly lose their minds, exacerbated by being locked inside the sub-levels. Joseph however wore his radiation suit so he was protected from the gas.
In the end, Joseph explains how he was forced to shoot the other survivors dead when they became violently insane. He ultimately died locked away within the sub-levels alone. It can also be assumed that the Legion soldiers who set up camp above the poison gas leak slowly lose their minds themselves and either killed one another or themselves. Joseph's gun, a unique, more powerful variant of the Silenced .22 pistol named "Maverick", can be found alongside his corpse. From here, the player has little else to do but leave.

Behind the scenesEdit

Searchlight Airport is a real airport two miles to the south of Searchlight, Nevada. It was built by the United States Air Force as an emergency alternate paved airstrip for Nellis Air Force Base in the 1950s. It is now a public airport, but has no control tower.

Joseph McConnell was a famous fighter pilot of the Korean War, often hailed as the greatest fighter ace in American history for his outstanding efforts.

The unique weapon "Maverick" is a reference to the nickname of the lead character played by Tom Cruise in the 1986 American action film Top Gun, in which Cruise plays a fighter ace.

I shall be the custodian of this jolly good... ah, screw it. I'm having trouble talking old-timey. I'm Yes-Man, if you didn't know already. So, ladies and gentleghouls, how's life? Me, I don't have much to say really. Just been going through the motions. Which normally, I wouldn't feel guilty about. But yesterday I re-watched that Adam Sandler movie "Click" because it was on the television, and well, that movie sure does know how to make you feel like you need to go out right away and live a carefree life. Great movie though, always makes me cry when he rewinds to the last time he ever spoke to his father. And the part just before the end when Adam Sandler unplugs his own life support and runs after his son to see him one last time is also very heartbreaking. Which is odd, considering most of Sandler's other movies are not touching in the least. Do you have a favourite Adam Sandler film? Tell me about it in the comments.

If you were in the Fallout universe, and you had to choose between becoming a Ghoul, Super mutant or Centaur, which would you choose and why?
I like that question. Remember, you can't choose human - it has to be one of the three. Ghouls can either be feral or normal, and Super mutants can be from whatever generation you want. Even Nightkin, I suppose.

We at Santa Clara believe that the Holy Flame was mankind's salvation. Or rather, we have to believe.

Santa Clara is a major city that appears in Fallout.

A repressive Theocracy, the subservient public live in fear of the beast known as "El Diablo", which Father Martinez warns will drag away sinners should they disobey the church's orders. Those who are marked as Sinners are exiled to the slums where they are to live out the rest of their days, lest El Diablo take care of them first. The strict government has a broad spectrum concerning what constitutes as a sin; it could be anything from petty theft to sharing opinions that oppose the church.

The town receives few visitors, and from the small amount that do visit Santa Clara, even less leave. Travellers are warned to stay away from the town, and caravans rarely visit due to superstitious stories regarding the horrible El Diablo, effectively isolating the cult-like community.

BackgroundEdit

Before the Great War, Santa Clara was a highly religious community, predominantly occupied by Latin-American Christians. After the bombs fell, the town was re-established in 2093 by a small group of devout religious survivors. Some went on to travel the Wastes, leaving the remaining members behind to pick up the pieces. The remaining survivors formed a cult, believing that God had punished the sinners by cleansing the world with the "Holy Flame" (nuclear holocaust). For the first few years, the town remained isolated, shunning travellers who came looking for refuge.

As the years went by, the town slowly grew larger, and at the same time the cultists became more passive to their religious leaders. But with the steady increase of the population, the church needed some way of ensuring that their many followers would remain under control. Stories were fabricated of a beast known as "El Diablo" by the government, who used it to deter the potential of an opposition from rising up. El Diablo was rumoured to drag away sinners and eat them - therefore, the church warned that anything that went against their orders was a sin. In order to validate their warnings, a Deathclaw was captured and imprisoned underneath the chapel. Anyone suspected of sinning would be fed to El Diablo the Deathclaw, which resulted in "sinful" members of the community being exiled to the slums by their friends and families who feared persecuted by association.

In 2130, Father Lasher was appointed head of the church alongside Deacon Martinez. Lasher's rule was by far the most fanatical and violent. But he felt that the church wasn't doing enough to spread their beliefs throughout the Wasteland, until 2131 when an ex-member of the Rippers named Morpheus came into town. Morpheus was young, but had a better understanding of the Wastes than many who came through Santa Clara. He was infatuated by the doomsday cult, and convinced Lasher that in order to allow it's potential to grow, they needed to travel the Wasteland and spread the word of the Holy Flame. Lasher left Martinez in charge of Santa Clara before taking off with Morpheus and a handful of cultists to form what would later become the Children of the Cathedral.

Martinez continued the reign of the oppressive theocracy, using El Diablo to silence travellers and cultists who began to oppose the church while remaining completely righteous in the eyes of the complicit public. In 2162, the Vault Dweller visited Santa Clara on his journey to put a stop to the Master. Depending on the actions of the player, the fate of Martinez and Santa Clara changes.

Santa Clara

The Main Square is the main section of town, where the fearful public resides. Here the player can buy from the merchants, Jules (weapons), Galvin (armour) and Ester (general wares). Also, Santa Clara's only doctor Maria can be located in the town centre. Several quests can be undertaken, including the beginning of the main quest arc for Santa Clara in which the Vault Dweller must look for clues regarding Gomez's disappearance. From the Main Square, the player can head to the slum district and the Chapel district.

Home of the Sinners

The slums of Santa Clara are a depressing, bleak place where the downtrodden Sinners live. Here, the player can meet Miguel, and help him take down Martinez and The Church. Also, Pablo resides here, who gives the Vault Dweller a quest to head to the Chapel district in hopes of gaining forgiveness for his sins. Herman, a drug dealer, can sell cheap chems to the player, which can then also be sold to Maria for bad karma. The slums are by far the most dangerous part of Santa Clara, as the Vault Dweller can be attacked by muggers and murderers.

Chapel DistrictEdit

The Chapel

The Chapel District is located in the centre of town, where members of The Church reside. They watch over Santa Clara from the Chapel, which also houses Martinez on it's uppermost floor. Below the Chapel, El Diablo resides in it's underground lair. Quests can be undertaken and completed here, including Help Pablo atone for his sins, Name and shame the thief and Help Martinez silence Miguel. Brother Armand spends his time outside the Chapel's gates where he preaches warnings of El Diablo. Here, the player can also learn the history of Santa Clara and the tale of El Diablo.

Dominio de SatanásEdit

El Diablo's lair

Dominio de Satanás (meaning "Dominion of Satan" in Spanish) is the home of El Diablo the Deathclaw, built beneath the Chapel. It is here where Sinners are locked away by The Church to be killed. A small, dark series of tunnels, El Diablo rests in the lowest depths. The Vault Dweller will wake up here after learning the truth behind the disappearance of Gomez in Santa Clara. The only way to exit is to retrieve the key from the stomach of El Diablo. Throughout the tunnels, the skeletons of unlucky victims can be found, including the corpse of Gomez.

Find out what happened to Gomez: Gomez's mother, Elmira, fears the worst when her son goes missing. Gomez never sinned and everyone in town attests to his righteousness, so the possibility that El Diablo killed him is unlikely. Elmira begs the Vault Dweller to find out what happened to Gomez. After an investigation, it's revealed that Martinez was seen arguing with Gomez hours before the disappearance, however The Church swears that El Diablo is responsible. Elmira is skeptical, placing suspicion on Martinez and the Church. In order to learn more, she directs the Vault Dweller to the slums, to meet with a man named Miguel.
Put a stop to El Diablo: At the slums, Miguel tells the Vault Dweller that The Church has something to hide regarding El Diablo. He explains how many good people have gone missing without explanation, and Martinez is always at the root of the problem. The Vault Dweller is tasked with looking into the matter by any means, be it persuasion, stealth or violence. Once the Vault Dweller uncovers the conspiracy, Martinez appears and has them thrown into the Deathclaw's lair to be disposed of. The player must defeat El Diablo and escape.
Oust Martinez to the public: With The Church's corruption revealed, the Vault Dweller has the option to return to Miguel and reveal the truth behind El Diablo and the persecution of The Sinners. With this new knowledge, Miguel rouses up the public into overthrowing The Church. The player must infiltrate the Chapel to kill Martinez and the other high-order members of The Church. Afterwards, Miguel takes over Santa Clara and begins to undo decades of damage.
Help Martinez silence Miguel: If the Vault Dweller goes to Martinez before Miguel, they have the opportunity to work with The Church to silence the more skeptical members of The Sinners once and for all. Taking the guise of El Diablo, the player must secretly murder Miguel and other prominent Sinners, sending a message to all those who might go against The Church in the future. The player is rewarded with a large sum of caps.
Get supplies for Maria: Due to lack of trade caravans coming through town and by extension low medical supplies, Maria has little to remedy the people with. She asks the Vault Dweller if they can go out and gather supplies for her, in return for caps. If the player buys discount chems from Herman in the slums and convinces Maria they're safe, they will receive bad karma, a result of the chemicals being harmful. Passing dialogue will imply that townspeople have died after visiting the doctor's office if the latter path is chosen.
Help Pablo atone for his sins: Pablo, a Sinner, has almost gone completely insane from living out of fear of El Diablo. In order to return to society, he tasks the Vault Dweller with gaining atonement for his sins. If the Vault Dweller leaves the task in the hands of Brother Armand, Pablo will be forgiven and return to the Main Square. If the player goes directly to Martinez, he promises to take care of it, and Pablo will end up missing a few days later.
Name and shame the thief: Brother Carmelo has heard reports of thievery, yet no culprits have been named yet. He tasks the Vault Dweller with learning who is behind the thefts, so that they may be "forgiven by God" before El Diablo punishes them (this is, of course, a lie). By following up on victims and through other various means, the Vault Dweller learns that the culprit is a man named Bernard who just wanted to feed his family. The Vault Dweller can either kill Bernard and inform Carmelo, tell Carmelo that Bernard was responsible which will lead to him going missing, or let Bernard off the hook and lie to Carmelo that the culprit left town.

InhabitantsEdit

Inhabitants can be split into three groups: Sinners, who live in the slums - The Sinners are poverty stricken and downtrodden, many waiting to die by the hands of El Diablo. The Church, who live in the Chapel District - Clergymen who rule the city of Santa Clara through fear, many members of The Church know the truth behind El Diablo and do their best to keep it from the public. Finally, the public who live in the Square - subservient followers of Martinez's every order, the public are too afraid to even think differently lest they be punished.

Notable residents include:

Miguel: Miguel is the leader of The Sinners, a group of exiled Santa Clara residents who live in the slums. Miguel does not believe in El Diablo, and is suspicious of Martinez and The Church. Martinez is unable to have Miguel killed due to his influence amongst The Sinners, who would surely start a riot if anything were to happen to Miguel.
Martinez: Martinez is the leader of The Church and Santa Clara. A cruel man, he forces his subjects to follow his every command using the threat of the monstrous El Diablo. Depending on the player's actions, Martinez can be killed by the Vault Dweller.
Maria: Maria is the head doctor of Santa Clara. Although she is unsure of Martinez and the methods of The Church, she fears El Diablo too much to say anything. The Vault Dweller can gain medical supplies for her through a quest.
Pablo: Pablo is a Sinner who begs forgiveness from The Church. With the help of the player, he can gain forgiveness from Armand and return back to society.
Brother Armand: Armand is a loyal clergyman who believes everything that the Church tells him. He often preaches outside the Chapel, warning of the horrible El Diablo.
Herman: A Sinner who can sell the player cheap chems. He loiters around the Slums all day, and can sell the player dangerous discount medical supplies that can be sold to Maria for bad karma.

TriviaEdit

Martinez is named after Maximiliano Hernández Martínez, President of El Salvador from 1931 to 1944. Martínez was feared for his oppressive fascist regime, in which he would have any and all opposition murdered.
There are two possible endings for Santa Clara:
- If Martinez is exposed and overthrown, Miguel takes over control of Santa Clara and attempts to turn the once oppressive theocracy into a more peaceful religious government. However, many members of society feel lost without the overbearing guidance of the Church, and soon enough many leave in search of a new place to call home. Santa Clara goes from a once great city into nothing more than a meagre settlement, overlooked by travellers and caravans alike - a mere shadow of it's former self.
- If Miguel is murdered by order of Martinez, the Church regains full control over Santa Clara and in order to prevent the possibility of future uprisings, closes the city off from the rest of the Wasteland. In pure isolation, Santa Clara fails to last much longer. Within years, due to lack of supplies and a dwindling population choked by the now-desperate leaders of the Church, Santa Clara perishes and is reclaimed by the Wasteland.
Santa Clara is a real life city, located on California's West Coast.

Hello nifty America. This is your President speaking, John He- ha! Gotcha!... well, not really. You all knew that this was the Weekly Saturday Polls.

Although I am your President, Yessie. Consider me a pollitician of sorts... bad pun, sorry. Anyway, the Fallout: Apprentice game that the Wiki plays has completed it's first challenge, with dear friend Doc being eliminated. Rather unfortunate, Doc is a very creative person and it's a shame to see him go so soon. However, the next challenge has already begun, so keep on the lookout. I'll be attempting to create a town that could appear in the original Fallout... wish me luck, ladies and gentleghouls.

This followed a statement issued to President Denis517 by Dead Gunner. Naturally, as any evil politician would do, I have since formed my own political group. I'm the President of the Neo-Enclave. We don't do anything, really; we basically exist out of spite of the original Enclave. Agent c and Hawk da Barber are already amongst the ranks, but if you want to be spared the harshness of the Wasteland then merely pledge your undying support below.

Keep in mind that all of this is just a bit of friendly rivalry between myself and my good pal Denis. I suppose I'm obliged to ask you not to take anything seriously, but I know that all of you are awesome enough to recognise that the Neo-Enclave is a joke. Vote regardless!
Last but not least, I went over my sandbox today to retrieve poll suggestions. The sandbox is just a place where I work on bits and pieces for the Wiki or elsewhere. Anyway, I scrolled down to the bottom and noticed something - why is Morgan Freeman winning the poll instead of me? For shame, Nukapedia!

Are you thinking what I'm thinking, B1? I think I am, B2... it's time for the Weekly Saturday Polls!

I'm your host B1, er, Yes-Man. Come to think of it, most of you guys won't understand the reference. Extra points if you do. Anyway, you've probably noticed the quote at the top of the page. It's a new thing I'm trying out, created by The Gunny and recommended by Energy X. I figured that if a user says something amusing in the comments, I'll make a list of quotes and put them at the top of the page. There's a total of six quotes which automatically cycle through every so often. If you say something I like, then you might find your quote show up some time next week. In other news, I didn't get many suggestions for Poll names last week, so for the time being I'll keep it as Weekly Saturday Polls. Thanks to everyone who suggested a name.

Last Week's ResultsEdit

Time to look over the results from last week. Two questions were asked, with the first being Who is your favourite Fallout series antagonist? Due to the size of the poll, there are some joint winners.

The results are as follows:

In joint third place, each with a total of eight votes, are President Eden, Caesar and Colonel Autumn! One Legion in the hand is worth two Enclave in the bush.
Coming up in joint second places were Elijah', Mobius and The Master, all of which received 11 votes. Silver medals for a blob, a brain, and a... well, bastard.
And coming up first, with 27 votes, is the man himself Ulysses! He shares his position with no man, not even the Courier.

The second poll was regarding What is your favourite Fallout series Heavy Weapon? The results are as follows:

Saddled with the bronze medal, with eighty-six votes, was the Gatling Laser; adored by smart-stupid mutants and Enclave soldiers alike.
Taking home a silver medal was the Fat Man, with 128 votes. Super fun, so long as idiots don't get a hold of it and kill everything within a five mile radius.
And winning the gold medal with a total of 146 votes was the Tesla Cannon! I can't think of anything witty to put here, so this will suffice.

Two more polls again for your reading pleasure. The first comes from Sector 36, who's question I've postponed for a while due to it's similarity to another poll we had a few weeks back. There are a varied selection of disc-jockeys in the world of Fallout. Some people love them, others would much rather prefer to listen to the dying screams of a Raider than suffer through another Public Service Announcement (no, Three-Dog, they're never important). Yet all in all, you must have a favourite... right? Drumroll please...

Our second poll comes from our good friend 98.240.97.154. There's always a quest that takes forever. For me, it would have to be that one in Fallout 3 where you have to repair Three-Dog's radio dish (mostly because I avoid it at all costs). Sometimes, you start the quest as a weak little drifter who struggles to take down radroaches, and by the time you're finished you're a veteran Wasteland warrior that strangles Deathclaws bare-handed. Which quest was it for you? Lights, camera, poll...

Apologies for the lack of Fallout/Fallout 2 quest options... I've yet to play them.
As for the additional question tacked on the end this week, I think I'll go with something speculative which everyone can enjoy while we wait for Fallout 4.

Greetings and salutations to all you ghouls and smoothskins alike, and welcome to the Weekly Saturday Polls! Now comes in braille edition (not really).

I'm your host, Yes-Man, identical twin brother of Yes Man, but with an added hyphen (because it's more fabulous). You know, typing up the name for the blog post today, I was reminded of how horridly boring the actual poll name is. "Weekly Saturday Poll"... there's no flair. Granted, I only chose that name because it was a temporary fill-in for the Mystery Polls which went on a week's break, so I wasn't really thinking to impress anyone with an awesome poll name. Now that they've become permanent, I was thinking it's time for a change. What do you say, community? Leave me a comment with your best poll name idea and perhaps I'll adopt it for use in the future.

Last Week's ResultsEdit

Moving on, let's look at last week's poll. Two more questions, the first of which consisted of Which of the following characters did you have the most difficulty killing? Some people voted for physical difficulty, others voted for moral difficulty, and some were entirely confused...

The results are as follows:

In third place, with 13 votes is Lee Oliver. We're pissing on the bear, and then strangling it too.
Coming in second we have Mister House with 24 votes. Killing a two hundred year old man incapable of movement who begins to die when coming into contact with oxygen has never been so hard.
And the man we all hate to hate is Legate Lanius, with 51 votes. I'm sure many a Courier has been nailed to a cross, facing West while they watch their world burn.

The second poll asked the question What is your favourite insect-type enemy? Results are as follows:

Crawling into third place were Radscorpions with 107 votes. Cute and cuddly - just watch out for the stinger.
Buzzing into second place were Cazadors with 130 votes. If it weren't for the horrible, debilitating poison, I'm sure these guys would be quite lovely.
And scuttling into first we have Radroaches with 195 votes. A mixture of Steve from Alchestbreach and the fact that they die if you so much as look at them ensured victory early on.

We're doing the ol' double poll routine again. I've decided to adopt this as standard format, regardless of how many suggestions I do or do not have, because I get almost five times as many voters on the small grey polls than I do on the big green ones.
Our first question was suggested by The Malpais Legate. Now, I know what you're thinking. "Favourite antagonist? But we've already done this a million times!" True, it is a common poll... however, this time I've included every major antagonist in the series. Where in the past it's mostly just the main villains, I've taken it one step further and given you the choice between every sadistic or otherwise cruel bastard that ever roamed the Wastes and beyond. Drumroll please...

I included "other" on the off chance that someone thinks of some obscure or random villain that I didn't know existed, so... yeah. Anyway, the second poll comes from NuclearHolocaust, who must have a fetish for heavy weapons. I find them cumbersome and unsightly, personally, but regardless. Some folk just like to obliterate their foes to Kingdom Come.

And like last week and the week before that, I'm opting to include a little question at the end. MJ567, our patriotic friend, was musing the greatest threat of the Fallout World - Communism. Yes, the Great War was waged between Communist China and the United States over oil. So he asked me to include a few questions that you may want to debate.
What country would the West most likely go to War with in the Fallout Universe?
And also:
Which communist regime of the Fallout world is the most dastardly?
Please note, these only refer to the Fallout Universe. I'm under the impression that the suggestion I was given referred to the real world, but I want to keep this related to Fallout for two reasons - this is a Fallout poll, and also we don't really want to go naming and shaming any countries.

So that's that, ladies and gentlemutants! Three questions - Your favourite Fallout antagonist, preferred heavy weapon, and the biggest outside threat to the Wasteland. Maybe you like Lanius for his menacing armour and ruthless methods? Perhaps you're more of a Lou Tenant fan, who melts at the sound of Tony Jay's voice? Or maybe you find Calvert the killer brain somewhat sinister. Your choice, folks.

That's it for the polls this week. As usual, this is the portion where I talk about unrelated things, so keep that in mind. What first? Ah, the prodigal son Leon has returned for a brief two weeks or so before he ships off to the Navy. This is the last chance you'll get to see him for another six years or longer, so make sure to wish him luck. This is how the next six years play out in my mind, when our pal Garoux meets up with the love of his life. If only real life was as romantic as movies, eh?
What else... hmmm... well, not really much going on in my life at the moment. End of the year draws near, and it's hard to believe that eight months has already passed. I'd talk about how life is short, but frankly it's the longest thing we ever do, so that point is moot. But it makes you stop and think - all those days where you just drifted along, not really doing anything; you're never getting those back. I suppose we should really stop taking every day for granted, but again, life isn't as interesting as Hollywood makes us think it should be.

I'm your host, Yes-Man, though most folk just call me Yessie. What's going on in the world today? Well, the Olympics have officially started, for one. Personally I'm not one for sports. I even suck at sport video games, let alone the actual activity. Although that doesn't mean that I don't want Australia to bring home a few gold medals from London; always nice when we win something for once (I'm looking at you, Australian Cricket Team). Any of you ladies or gentlemen following the Olympics? Perhaps you play a sport yourself? If there's any sports fans in the crowd, feel free to leave us a comment about it.

Anyhow, you're here for the polls, not my Olympic reviews. Last week we were given two more somewhat macabre questions, the first of which exercised the Thanatos in all of us (you Freudian fanatics should know that one). We were asked the question Which annoying Fallout character would you most like to put a bullet in?

The results are as follows:

The third most likely to take a dirt nap was Oliver Swanick with nineteen votes. Ironic that he survives the Legion lottery, but more often than not is killed minutes later.
In joint second place are the equally obnoxious Moira Brown and Sticky, each with 20 votes. What's the bet that Sticky is Moira's long-lost annoying son?
And with the biggest bullseye on his back was Mayor MacCready with an impressive 57 votes. That kid is clearly pro-choice political commentary...

The second poll asked Which enemies do you enjoy fighting the most? The results are as follows...

In third place were Deathclaws, with fifty-one voters. Clearly they're either trying to impress a Wasteland beauty, or are plain suicidal - I for one avoid Deathclaws at any cost.
Coming in second place are Super Mutants with 123 votes. When I first ran into one of these guys in the Subways of Fallout 3, I crossed my heart and expected the worst...
And in first place are Raiders with 227 votes. Should it be concerning that the only human enemies won the poll...?

So there you have it folks! Three questions - Who you had difficulty killing, which insect you like the most, and which American army would win. Perhaps you were a strong Brotherhood supporter and couldn't morally bring yourself to killing McNamara. Don't get many visitors down here these days. Well... not living ones, anyhow.

The Golgotha Catacombs are a series of burial tunnels beneath Golgotha. They house the many long-dead victims of the Mordino family and those who made the wrong impression on the wrong people in New Reno.

A lonely yet somewhat deranged ghoul who goes by the name of Gunk acts as the custodian of the Catacombs, describing his job as "Cleaning up after the vultures" when corpses are left at Golgotha. Gunk is accompanied by his assistant Carlyle whom, much to the Chosen One's concern, is in fact a long dead human skeleton.

BackgroundEdit

The Golgotha Catacombs house the rotted corpses that the mob families of New Reno leave at Golgotha. The Catacombs lie under the graveyard, and consist of long, winding tunnels with inbuilt tombs where the rotting bodies sit. The custodian of the Catacombs, Gunk, notes that the tunnels existed for as long as he can remember, and that he "can't even remember that far back".

Due to the amount of corpses festering below the graveyard, the Catacombs have recently been infested by rats, making the job of storing bodies a lot more difficult for Gunk. However, that's not the only threat, for not all the corpses stored away are entirely dead - in some of the tunnels wander insane ghouls that were presumed dead and dragged off to their tombs, only to regain consciousness and find themselves lost in the darkness, searching frantically for a way out.

The first level of the tombs is reached from Golgotha. Upon entering, the Chosen One will encounter Gunk, who has set up a makeshift camp due to the rat infestation. He will introduce himself and Carlyle before asking the Chosen One to help him exterminate the rats, prompting the quest "Help Gunk clear out the rat infestation". A few rats roam deeper in towards the entrance to the Catacombs, but should pose little threat to the player.

The catacombs are where Gunk stores the rotted corpses of Golgotha, which is now home to hungry rats. The map is similar to a long, twisting labyrinth, which is easy to get lost in. Almost all the paths will lead to a dead end with the exception of two paths which lead to Gunk's dive and the Abattoirs. The maze can be navigated easier if the Chosen One receives an tip detailing the marks and clues left by Gunk in the chance that he gets lost. These clues act as a puzzle to lead the player to the Abbatoir - alternate paths will most likely lead to crazed ghouls.

The Abbatoir houses a large amount of rats which the player must defeat in order to complete the quest for Gunk. The rooms themselves consist of the corpses that Gunk has not found a place for. According to dialogue with Gunk, this is also where he "met" Carlyle. The Chosen One will notice how some of the corpses don't have ears, a joke referring to the Bishop's number one boxer, Masticator. Once the rats have been exterminated, this is where Gunk will spend the majority of his time if you choose to return later.

Gunk's dive is supposedly where Gunk lives. There is little to see here, other than to get a better insight into Gunk's life. Visually it's a small, depressing room. The player can find Gunk's diary under his bed, which mentions his "friend" Carlyle who "hasn't spoken much since he was moved out of the Abattoir". It also notes Gunk's secret stash which if read will make a stash of two jets, 300 caps, and a revolver appear in the corner of the abattoirs.

NotesEdit

When examining some of the corpses found in the Abattoirs, the Chosen One will mention their unusual lack of one ear. This leads to the assumption that they were victims of Mike the Masticator before death.
For a character who is not yet a Made Man, Prizefighter, or lacks the Charisma to become a Porn Star, a pass to the Golden Globes studios can be procured in the Catacombs.
If Gunk has moved into the Abattoir by the time the player has read his journal and catches the player steal his stash, he will turn hostile.

I'm sure many of you can top my record attempt at greetings in different languages. Anyway, as you probably know I'm Yes-Man, but you can call me Errol Flynn, because that's way cooler. So, the new Batman movie has been released. Although there has been some sad news regarding a particularly tragic shooting, overall the reviews have been great regarding the film. Personally, I've always preferred the Tim Burton Batman films to the Christopher Nolan ones, and although Heath Ledger was a great guy, Jack Nicholson will always be the Joker as far as I'm concerned. What do you guys think? Are you happy with the realistic take on Batman, or do you prefer the zany comic-book style that Burton gave us? Tell us what you think in the comments.

Moving on, let's review the results from last week. Two more polls last week, the first of which asked which Wasteland drifter you'd want accompanying you through the Wastes. Unfortunately, a lot of people didn't understand the whole drifter aspect of it, so I got a few Fawkes or Boone votes... Anyway.

The results are as follows:

In third place was the badass Tycho with 21 votes. He may have been the first Ranger in Fallout, but he's the third in the polls.
First time in second place is the Other option with 22 votes. Unfortunately, most people voted for characters who weren't drifters. Read the question next time people!
And in first place was Cass with 43 votes. Let's be honest, guys - we were all voting for her because she'd be smoking hot in real life.

The second poll concerned the Divergence. This was a bit more straightforward. Let's hear the results...

The third most popular theory is that the Divergence never occurred, as far as 34 of our faithful voters are concerned. Though we're not going to go delete the page just yet, mind you....
The second most popular theory is that the Divergence occurred in 1949, with 104 readers behind it. I personally think that this one fits in the best, but whatever...
And the most popular theory is that the Divergence occurred after World War II, according to 225 voters. Bit too early for my liking, but hey, I'm just the poll guy.

First off, sorry about the delated update. Just got caught up in chat with some users I haven't seen in ages. First time I've been in chat in ages, mind you. Lost interest a while back, too many new users and a lot of my old pals that joined the Wiki around the same time as me started to drift away, so I was stuck with a bunch of people I didn't know too well most of the time. Was a nice blast from the past chatting to folks like Valoopy, ButteflyKiss and YefPatterson, even if it was for a moment.
Before I forget, I was asked a question by Capt.Lee. Although it didn't work for the poll format, it was still a cool thought to ponder. Perhaps some of you might want to tell me what your ideas are. Anyway, he asked me "What do you think would have happened to the Mojave if Benny had succeeded in killing the Courier and ousting House?" It was a peculiar thought, because so much would have changed. Who could stop Ulysses, the Think Tank, or the White Legs from having their way with Vegas? What would happen between the Legion and NCR, and the fate of Hoover Dam? How would Benny do as the leader of Vegas, and could he keep the casino families under control? There's a lot that could go wrong if the Courier had died in that hole. So tell us - what's your theory on life in the Mojave if Benny's plan hadn't failed?

Alright, so I sort of changed the lyrics to fit in with the Saturday Polls. Nobody will notice... my name is Yes-Man, and contrary to popular belief, I am not really the robot from the video game. Although I will pretend to be if you mail me cash. So I hear that Bonnie and Clyde's guns are going up for auction, eh? I never understood why people shell out millions of bucks for a grade-A dust collector. And how they can justify it, when there are starving kids overseas. Honestly, when are you ever going to need Bonnie and Clyde's guns? Just to put it on the mantle and start conversation? It had better be a million-dollar conversation, I tell you what...

Last Week's ResultsEdit

So, last week we had two questions, like usual. The first was a pretty cool one about what your favourite New Vegas location was. I tell you what, ladies and gentleghouls, it was a darn close vote.

The results are as follows:

In third place was The Divide with thirty votes. I'm surprised it got that far considering the game pretty much constantly reminds you how much of a sinkhole it is.
Coming in second, we had the Big MT with 43 votes. That's Big Moutain, not Big Empty, for all you lobotomites out there.
And in a close first place was the Mojave Wasteland with 48 votes. Mojave? Mo problems.

The second poll was about which tutorial character you liked the most. It really wasn't much of a competition, but here are the results regardless...

Striking out at third was Easy Pete with twenty-nine votes. To quote one user - "Doesn't give you enough dynamite".
With a home run in second was Sunny Smiles with 148 votes. To my knowledge, she got most of her votes due to being an attractive young lady in a tight leather jumpsuit... which is entirely legitimate.
And knocking it out of the park at first was Doc Mitchell with a staggering 265 votes. He must have reprogrammed us to like him when he was rootin' around in our brains.

I got two more polls for you, guys. The first comes from a friend of mine, Frankie, who had a rather creative idea. Now, for some of you this will be difficult, because a lot of gamers aren't familiar with Fallout and Fallout 2. But try to vote the best you can.

We all know that the Fallout world and the real world are different - but it's not sure when the Divergence from reality actually took place. A drifter is someone who travels from place to place without any real destination in mind, such as the ones listed. You can choose other drifters such as the Lonesome Drifter from Fallout: New Vegas or (and this is stretching it) John Cassidy or Herbert Daring Dashwood. But please don't vote for someone who isn't a drifter just because you like them. And make sure to give a reason! Perhaps you choose Tycho because he's a total badass, I dunno.

That was Pink Floyd, and this is Yes-Man. So, welcome to this week's edition of the polls, and let's get on with it! Not much has been going on in my life recently. Just the same old, mundane cycle. Going through the motions, I suppose. Which makes me think... does anyone believe in fate? That the moment you're born, your life is planned out before you? I sort of believe in it, but not in the way most people interpret fate. The way I see it, there are no second chances in life. Everything that you do, there's no way of turning back time and trying it again. In a way, that's fate... that's how things played out and you can't change it. So, as far as I'm concerned, fate isn't something that happens in the future; It's something that happened in the past.

The results are as follows:

In third place, with fifteen votes, was Mojave Music Radio. Not enough Big Iron for my liking, personally.
In second place was Radio New Vegas with 26 votes. And might I say, it took second place with, quote, Amazing Grace. (Anyone get the joke?)
Time for a public service announcement kids! In first place was Galaxy News Radio with a mighty 79 votes. And now, some music...

Two more polls for you this weeks, ladies and gentleghouls. Please note, I got a lot of suggestions recently and I haven't been able to organise them, so I'm just going to choose the last two I remember. Thank you, thank you very much. For our next number, I'm going to prattle on about stuff you probably already know. I'm your host, Yes-Man, though you probably knew that. And in case you were wondering, this is a community poll where you vote on your preferred choice in whatever it is I've been asked to showcase. Anyway, you probably want to know what's going on in my life this week. Ehh... not much, to be honest. So, I'll just resort to telling you that my favourite Disney movie is Hercules. Yes, I still watch Disney movies. And if you deny watching them then you're clearly a liar. Hell, even Adolf Hitler's favourite movie was Snow White and the Seven Dwarves and that is not a joke. It's natural - people love Disney. So tell me your favourite Disney film in the comments. Go on!

Last Week's ResultsEdit

Last week was sort of a jumble, due to my poor planning. I apologise for that. We were asked Where should Fallout 4 take place and came up with quite a few different locations.

The results are as follows:

POLL 1 - CONTINENT

In third place was Asia with 22 votes. I was going to make an "high-expectations father" joke here but restrained in fear it was borderline racism.
Coming in second place Europe with 136 votes. Not very wunderbar (best word in the history of words; thank you Germany).
And in first place was, surprise surprise, North America with 334 votes. God Bless the U.S.A.

POLL 2 - COUNTRY

In third place was Canada, eh, with 48 votes. Although who wouldn't want to see mutant moose?
In second place was the United Kingdom, with 72 votes. We are not amused.
And coming in first, once again, is the United States with 263 votes. Yeehaw pardner!

POLL 3 - CITY

In third place was London with 60 votes. Jolly good ol' chap.
The Other option came in second with 96 votes. Although I won't list all the suggestions, the majority of them were United States cities.], so bear that in mind.
Coming in first was New York City with an impressive 157 votes. Bethesda, if by any chance you're reading this, I ask one thing of you... Mutant George Costanza. Please.

So if we can take anything away from the experience, it would be that the majority of Nukapedia residents want to see New York City as the setting for the next Fallout (myself included). Fingers crossed, boys and girls.

Onto the polls, which is what you come here for, I've had another influx of suggestions. This one stood out to me, coming from our pal Stars and Stripes Forever. I'd like to thank this lovely gentleman for partly keeping the polls alive with his great suggestions - without him you'd be at the mercy of my lame ideas that I make up on the spot Saturday mornings when I'm half asleep anyway. Anyway, I'm babbling, so let's do this. Drumroll please...

Turns out the Polls have fans. So by extension, I have fans. Weird... so long as nobody tries to cut off my hair and do voodoo on it, I'm fine with that.
In terms of the Wiki, I'm aware that Kast recently celebrated his one year anniversary as an administrator at the Fallout Wiki. Kast is a great guy, fellas, and one of the first admins I met on this Wiki back when I was a rather hopeless newbie. Though I feel I let the guy down, along with other community members, when I had that outburst in the forums a while back. Sorry about that, everyone; still feel bad about it.
For those of you who didn't know, that's right, Ol' Yessie was quite active back in the day. I was making pages, reverting vandalism, participating in debates and proposing rules. It was fun for a while but as George Harrison can tell you, all things must pass. So I guess my glory days on this Wiki have died a rather painful, and in my opinion untimely, death. But you don't want to listen to my self pity.

Clearly I learn all my Spanish from Speedy Gonzales cartoons. Anyways, I'm an awesome person and this is an awesome blog, so let's get on to hearing my story this week. Some of you might have noticed that commenting for last week's poll was closed early. I apologise for this inconvenience, but it was in response to a rather hostile vandalism attack in which an unfriendly fellow constantly spammed pornographic and otherwise insulting links and comments on my blog. I was rather unhappy, and when I noticed he wasn't going to stop after at least ten minutes, I locked commenting for the remainder of the day. Luckily our heroic and brave administrator, TwoBears, came to the rescue and banned the troll, deleting the offensive comments. We all owe this Weekly Poll to him. Three cheers, everyone!

Last Week's ResultsEdit

Moving on from that travesty, let's hear the good news from last week's poll. Well, actually, there's still more bad news to come regarding the results, but we'll get to that. We were asked two questions, the first being Who is your favourite New Vegas faction leader?

The results are as follows:

In ~~first~~ third place, with a rather disappointing twenty four votes, is none other than the smart, the handsome and the amazing Yes Man! Frankly, he deserved to win, and was winning early on in the competition. But I suspect the votes were rigged against him, so let's just consider Yes Man the true winner, okay?
In second place, stealing the glory away from the real champion Yes Man, is Mister House with 31 votes. He might talk the talk, but he can't walk the walk, considering he's too decrepit to stand up.
And in first place, winning by a mere one vote, is The King with 32 votes! Viva Las Vegas, baby.

And just remember, when you tell your grandkids the story of the Weekly Saturday Polls, remind them that Yes Man was the true victor due to dodgy voting. The second poll was for the Fallout Tactics fans - it was something along the lines of What is your favourite Fallout Tactics vehicle? The results are as follows...

In third place is the Nuke Carrier with 26 votes. You wouldn't want to hit a pothole in that thing or the whole neighbourhood would be wiped out.
In second place was the Armoured Personnel Carrier with 43 votes. Now, is that the vehicle that's armoured, or the personnel? Or both...?
And blowing the competition out of the water with 106 votes was the mighty Tank. I don't have anything witty to say here, so let's move on.

Yadda yadda, I'm Yes-Man. Now let's get on to business. First off, what do you guys and gals think of the new avatar? I know it doesn't fit with the Yes Man theme, but I couldn't resist a pink Batman saying "Fabulous". It spoke volumes to me, it really did. That, and I think if I were Batman I'd do the same thing... seriously, who wants to wear the same old costume every day? Must get all sweaty in there, what with the crime fighting. I always wondered what would happen if Batman had to meet Bruce Wayne in person. I'm sure he has some sort of ridiculous gadget or spray that helps him to produce a clone of himself. Or maybe he'd just dress Alfred up in a Batman suit and hope nobody notices...

Last Week's ResultsEdit

I'd better get on to business before my imagination wanders and this becomes a blog about all the illogicalities in the old Batman series. Last week I did two polls again, which were humorous (I hope). The first question was a tough vote for the most beautiful beast in the Wasteland. So, it's time for the big reveal... Which creature will be crowned the Wasteland Beauty Queen?

The results are as follows:

You can't blame a girl for trying, but going home without the tiara will be Miss Vault-Tec, the beautiful Robo-Brain. Only eighteen people voted for this beauty; methinks she lost a few votes on her runway walk. You know, it's hard when you don't have legs.
Miss Mariposa was the hopeful runner up, but not quite the beauty queen. The lovely Centaur received 21 votes and a bouquet of flowers. If she was able to complete her speech, she probably would have gotten more support. But sadly she got "tongue-tied"... (geddit?)
And here she is ladies and gentlemen. The most beautiful creature in the Wasteland; the recipient of the Beauty Queen Tiara is none other than Miss West Coast, the stunning Deathclaw! The lovely Miss Deathclaw had 45 votes, making her the clear winner. She'll be going home in a limousine tonight, probably after murdering some Wastelanders.

I'd like to give honourable mention to Miss Underworld, Feral Ghoul, for not mauling the smoothskin crowd. The second poll was more about possible, and ridiculous, weapons. Tell us your favourite ridiculous weapon - the results are as follows:

In third place is my personal favourite, Roachscalibur with fifty eight votes. It's basically a radroach on a stick - so long as you don't put it down and risk your weapon running away.
In second place is the simple yet dangerous Spray Bottle of FEV with 71 votes. Although it's unlikely to kill a target as quickly as a gun, I'm sure you could do some lasting physical damage resulting in low self-confidence, making any wasteland enemy fearful to show their mutated face in public.
Coming in first, after a very rocky start, was the Suicidinator with 132 votes. Basically a Mini-Nuke and a hammer, if a Wastelander finds him or herself in a sticky situation, they can just bang on the nuke and wipe out a room - and themselves. Better yet, give it to a companion and send them into battle.

I'd like to thank you all for enjoying the poll. I feared that many wouldn't get it and complain to me about how in God's name a centaur could be sexy, or why you'd want to blow yourself up to kill enemies. But you were all wonderful and I thank you all for being such a great crowd.

For this week's poll, we're revisiting an older question, but with a slight twist. You might remember the old question about your favourite faction. Well, Utter Fallout came to me a few weeks ago and asked me if I could include a poll of favourite New Vegas faction leaders. I figured some of us might like factions, but not their leaders, or vice versa - For example, I'm not fond of Mr. House's faction, but I like him as a character. So, without further ado; drumroll please...

In case you've been living under a rock the past six weeks, I'm obliged to remind ya'll that I'm Yes-Man, with a hyphen for added flair. Not much has happened since last week. I hear the Queen has turned a million years old or something. They should put her in a museum... anyway. I'd like to congratulate Relics for graduation from the NUN. Any of you newer editors who want to learn the ropes around the Wiki should sign up. Both of the project's graduates have gone on to receive Patroller and Rollback rights! But you don't come here to listen to me ramble... do you? Last week I spoiled you with two polls AND I altered the original poll to include Winterised T51-b after popular demand (which might I add only got five votes). For the first poll, you were asked the question What is your choice in Power Armour?

The results are as follows:

In third place was Gannon Family Telsa/Power Armour with fifteen votes. Telsa, Power... potato, tomato (or whatever the hell they say).
A close second was T45-d Power Armour with 18 votes. Or as the Super Mutants like to call them, canned dinner.
And in first place we have the iconic T51-b Power Armour, with 38 votes. Seems like our community prefers strength over style... I prefer the opposite.

For the second poll, we were asked What's your favourite New Vegas Perk?. Again with the results...

In third place was Strong Back with seven votes. I would personally love to carry loads of extremely heavy crap on my back with the slightest of ease.
Coming in second we had Bloody Mess with 16 votes. I used to giggle evilly whenever someone blew into pieces, but after a while it got old.
And in first place came Jury Rigging, which made it no competition with 124 votes. I suppose it would be helpful in real life... Playstation breaks, so just grab your old gameboy and cram them together.

This week I've decided to try something different and think with my funny bone (not literally, I think with my brain... sometimes). Not only will we have a double poll like the last few weeks, but we're also going to have a humorous poll. If you're one of those players who think Fallout is srs bizness then please don't leave me comments about how the poll is dumb or anything, this is just meant to be a bit of light hearted fun.

There you have it folks. Which creature will be crowned this year's Wasteland Beauty Queen? Personally I'm going to have to cast my vote for the Feral Ghoul. It's still not half as bad as Sarah Jessica-Parker, am I right? I'm right...

But wait! There's more! SaintPain and I developed an idea to ask you what the most wacky Fallout weapon is, from this list of badly thought out weapons that I'm just going to make up off the top of my head. Let's hear the nominees...

Roachscalibur - A dangerous weapon that consists of a bloodthirsty radroach strapped to a stick.
Molerat-Launcher - Fire a rabid molerat at your enemies with this deadly launcher.
Spray bottle of FEV - Because who doesn't want to squirt some in people's faces?
Sticky - Just take this annoying kid with you wherever you go to deter any potential threats.
The Suicidinator - Consists of a Mini-Nuke and a hammer. You figure out what comes next.

Not only do we have this year's annual Wasteland Beauty Pageant hosted at Nukapedia, but we're also hoping to hear your great new ideas for a hilariously worthless weapon. My friends call me Yessie, but you can call me... well, Yes-Man. What's been going on in my dismal life this week? Well, one faithful reader asked me to review the last movie I watched. Just so happened the last film I saw was Blade Runner (I know, I know, 30 years late). I tell you what, ladies and gents, it was a damn fine movie. Granted I didn't know what was going on half the time, but regardless it was pretty cool. Roy scared the crap out of me, especially when he went insane and chased Deckard through Sebastian's apartment. Another thing, for anyone who's seen the movie... is Deckard a Replicant? Because I got the feeling there was something more to him. Curious...

Last Week's ResultsEdit

Anyway, go watch the movie yourself if you haven't already. Supposedly there are several versions; I saw the 2007 Final Cut one. Moving on, let's take a gander at last week's results. We were asked the question Which player character would win in a fight?

The results are as follows:

In third place was the Vault Dweller, with a total of fourteen votes. I think the Master would beg to differ.
Coming up second was the Lone Wanderer garnering a somewhat formidable 38 votes (although I wonder how many of those were based off Liberty Prime...)
And in first place is, surprise surprise, the Courier with 62 votes! For a mailman/woman, the Courier is one tough cookie.

Alrighty. This week I had a rather alarming influx of suggested polls, so bear with me. I'll be doing the ol' double poll like last week just to knock some of these questions out of the way. Just remember, some of you might not be seeing your polls implemented for a few weeks...

First in line is a question suggested to me by VictorVHBR. We Securitrons stick together, you see. When you think of Fallout, you think of Power Armour. And everyone aspires to ~~murder a Brotherhood Paladin and steal their armour~~ one day come across your very own suit of Power Armour and wear it proudly. But with all the different styles to choose from, what will the Wasteland Fashionista choose? You tell me. Drumroll please...

As for the second poll, this was submitted to me by MJ567 who asks the following question...

And there you have it. What's you choice in Power Armour and Perks. Apologies for the size of the second poll... I never realised how many perks there were until I wrote them all down. In case you're interested, my choices for this week's polls would have to be Hellfire Power Armour, because it looks freakin' cool, and Lady Killer/Confirmed Bachelor, because those extra dialogue options are invaluable. Well, actually, it's more like I feel like I'm missing out by not choosing them.

That concludes this week's poll. A few things before I shove off for another week. First off, as I write this, I fear that this week the poll is somewhat lacking in quality. There's just something about it that's not as good as the previous polls... perhaps it's the need for two pages. Just irks me. Tell me what you think.
Also, make sure you check out Nicky-Boy's The Divide, a public debate in which the reader decides who's argument is the strongest. It's really quite interesting.
In other news, my plan for world domination is in it's final stages. All I need now is to recalibrate the death ray and get a hold of the President. Anyone know his number? I'd appreciate it.

Looks like it's that time of week again folks; time for the Weekly Saturday Polls!

It's Yes-Man here again, like last week. And the week before that. And the week before that... anyway. I've been feeling a bit under the weather recently. You know, common cold. They call it common but I find I only get it once a year or so... speaking of which, they can cure deadly diseases but they can't cure a cold. Ridiculous, am I right? Anyway, what do I usually talk about before the polls? Give me a suggestion or something, folks, because I'm really at a loss for words and I'm sure this is awkward for all of us. If you think you know what the people want to hear before the poll, just tell me on my talk page... otherwise I'll bore you with the details of my week.

Last Week's ResultsEdit

For those of you who didn't fall asleep from boredom after my riveting story about the common cold, take a look at last week's results. We were asked the question What is your favourite Fallout series faction?

The results are as follows:

In third place are the Followers of the Apocalypse with 21 votes! I could never dig the punk rock hairstyles, personally.
In joint second place are the NCR and the Enclave, both with 28 votes! I wonder, which is the greater evil...?
And in first place with a staggering 53 votes are the one and only Brotherhood of Steel! Who else saw that coming from a mile away?

Moving on, this week we've got two polls. That's right, I'm spoiling you with choice. I got a great suggestion from Stars and Stripes Forever, but I already had a poll idea in mind. So I've decided to use both questions this week. You know those arguments about "Who's faster, the Flash or Superman", and so forth. Well, I got something along those lines for you this week. And here's the second poll for you. This is less opinion, more personal experience (also gives me a chance to experiment with the alternate poll system). Without further ado...

There you go. Tell us which player character would win in a fight, and also tell us what skill you levelled up to 100 first. I always level up speech first; I find it one of the most useful skills in the game, other than lockpick and science. Now, I need to stress something. Listen up, because this stuff's important:

When voting on which player character would win, base it on your player character. However, that does not mean that the Lone Wanderer would win because he has Liberty Prime, nor does it mean that the Chosen One would win because he has a Gauss Rifle and Enclave armour. I want to know which character you thought achieved the greatest feats in their game, and which of your characters do you think is the most capable in a fight. Personally I'd have to go with the Courier, considering he can take down three armies and seize control of Vegas (at least, in my Independent playthrough).

Now a few things to wrap up until next week. First off I'd like to say thank you to a certain anonymous user who left a lovely message on my talk page. I certainly will keep fighting the good fight, thanks for your message. Also, I'd like to get some feedback on the polls; specifically if you prefer my poll system or MysteryStranger's. It has become apparent that although my poll format is more aesthetically pleasing, it's prone to many glitches (some of which I've experienced myself). And overall I'd like to know if you're enjoying the polls and if there's anything you'd like me to add or remove.

Also, does anyone actually read what I write after the poll? Just curious...

You're probably sick of me reminding you, but I'm Yes-Man here with this week's edition of the... well, you already know. First off I'd like to say a big thank you to Mystery for his great efforts in keeping the polls alive. His poll this week was immensely popular (made mine look like crap!) and I think that's a great send off for the man who picked up Sam and Kast's work for the past several months. Enough sentimental... err... sentiment. I'm sure you're all eager for me to shut my trap and start the poll! Last week we were asked the question Who is your favourite Super Mutant?

The results are as follows:

In joint third place are Uncle Leo and Frank Horrigan, each with eight votes! Isn't it funny that one is the kindest Super Mutant, whereas the other is probably the most evil?
In second place is the all-knowing, all-seeing Marcus, with a solid 35 votes. He survived two games, but he didn't survive the weekly polls.
And in first place is the one and only Fawkes with 41 votes! Turns out that A CALM HEART MUST PREVAIL! (Anyone else get sick of him screaming Zen philosophy at you?)

Please note, there are a few things that I was unable to include in the poll:

Radiers can refer to any named group such as Khans, or just generic Raiders as in Fallout 3. Please specify which in the comments.
Master's Army doesn't just mean the random Muties in Fallout, it refers to any Mutant that was ever affiliated with the Master. This can include Nightkin such as Tabitha, for example. I grouped them with the Children because they both work for the same Master.
Brotherhood of Steel and Enclave refer to both their Fallout 3 incarnations, and their incarnations in all other titles in the series.

Enough stroking my own ego, let's get on to last week's poll. Wow, the week sure does go fast, eh? Anyway, we were asked the question Which Fallout game did you enjoy the most?

The results are as follows:

Coming in third place was Fallout 2 with a total of thirteen votes. Unlucky number... must have been why it only ranked third.
In second place with an exciting 79 votes was Fallout 3! Don't tell Tagz that it beat the original Fallout!
And in first place, winning by only two votes, was Fallout: New Vegas on 81! Funny story, while I was writing up this poll, it was tied with Fallout 3 on first place, but someone must have voted last minute.

Enough living in the past, am I right? So this week is a change of pace. We all know and hate those mutie bastards (well, I know I do), so I thought it might be interesting to make a poll on them. Drumroll please...

Here it is, tell us which yellow freak is your favourite and why. Is it the Enclave experiment Frank Horrigan, who can tear a deathclaw in half with his bare hands? Or perhaps it's Uncle Leo, the kindly Zen mutant who wishes to pluck the moon from the sky for you? On a side note...

Coming in at third place was Fast Shot, with only sixteen votes. There must not be many Clint Eastwood fans on the wiki, eh...? Sorry, lame joke.
In a close second was Sex Appeal with 27 votes. It's okay folks; beauty is only skin deep. Then again, Heidi Klum would beg to differ.
And in a landslide win, first place was Jinxed with an impressive 86 votes. Someone must have jinxed it, am I right?
