New Vegas might not yet be available for release for a few more months, but like any good company working on schedules and maintaining revenue throughout the lifecycle of a game release, we come to the topic of DLC's.
With the release of Fallout 4 being circa 2 years distant it should be expected that New Vegas, like Fallout 3 previously, will have a much vaunted release followed by a "honeymoon period" of high value sales at volume, assuming the game is critically well received, or manages to exist for a time on a hype bubble.
Beyond this, DLC releases can stimulate in two ways; providing and prolonging additional revenue during the period until the next major release, maintaining exposure for the brand, and stimulating additional base gameā¦
