To start this quest, the player must talk with WaNe. To do so, the player must either speak with Mr. House after completion of The House Always Wins I or complete Have You Heard? by having WaNe reset. If asked, WaNe will comment how the Radio New Vegas signal and the securitrons' signal are having slight interference due to another radio station, Black Mountain Radio. While claiming not to care, which seems more than untrue, WaNe will offer the Courier a reward for changing the rival station's frequencies or, better yet, shutting them down entirely. Furthermore, "while you're at it", WaNe asks if one could acquire Black Mountain's playlist.
There are ultimately two ways to complete this quest. First is to change Black Mountain's frequencies so they no longer affect the Lucky 38's. To do this, the player must enter the first floor of the broadcast building, the same building that Tabitha is in, and interact with the machinery. The other option is to shut down the signal entirely, this is done by either killing Tabitha, making peace with Tabitha, or activating a lever on the radio tower, where the nightkin with Annabelle is located.
Completing the optional objective requires stealing one of two holotapes containing the station's playlist. One is located in the storage building, amongst various items, while the other is located in Tabitha's room, on the second floor of the broadcast building.
For completing the quest, WaNe will open a door in its bunker, revealing the Mesmetron Module Mk IV. The module can be installed into either Rex or ED-E. ED-E will gain the "radio burst" attack, a short-range attack hitting everyone within a few feet of it, while Rex will gain the "radio bark" attack, a medium range attack similar to a Robobrain's mesmetron attack. Both attacks do little damage, but do a greater amount of damage to a target's head and can possibly stun them for a few seconds.
The reward for the optional objective is the New Vegas soundtrack. The soundtrack is a holotape that's played through the Pip-Boy. When selected, it will play a random song from Radio New Vegas's new playlist.
