Floaters first came into existence after being experimented upon before the Great War with FEV. They were further augmented by the Master, making them larger, highly hostile, and with the new ability to hover.
Losing the ability to hover or to even walk on land properly, lamprey floaters are typically found submerged or lurking about dank areas. Being fairly small, they are little more than a nuisance by themselves, but in numbers, have been known to shred their prey to the bone within mere seconds.
With health on-par with radroaches, the typical lamprey floater is not that tough of an enemy. However, they almost always travel in schools, quickly able to whittle down the health of their prey, along with almost always being accompanied by larger variants of floaters. Their primary form of attack on land is to lunge at their prey and latch on. Within water, they will attempt to wrap themselves across their prey's face, quickly suffocating them.
After lunging themselves onto the Lone Wanderer, the lamprey floater will latch on dealing small amounts of damage before falling off again and resuming their attack. During this time, they can only be damaged by splash damage.
Stepping on them will kill them instantly, but will award no XP
