There are a total of thirteen skills in the game and each one can be raised to 100. That means there's 1300 skill points to spend. Now as we discussed in the derived attributes section, you can only get around 888 skill points and that means you can max out about 9 skills or have all skills at 68. Now neither of those two options seem too appealing to me because I want to have a versatile character and I don't want to be a Jack of All Trades: Master of None. It's just not the way the game was meant to be played. So how are we going to go about this? Well first off, you have to realize that some skills only need to go to 80 to be good. After 80 you're just wasting skill points. It's also important to note that you can raise every skill exce…

The section will be fairly short, but I thought it would be good if I explain in a little more detail each derived statistics, which attribute affects it, and what it does. First off derived statistics are set values that are determined by the number of points you have in that related attribute and any perks you have, among other things, that affect that statistic. Let's take carrying weight, for example. Let's say you started the game with 6 points in strength and therefore can carry 210 pounds. You then level up to level 8 and pick the Strong Back Perk and you can now carry 260 pounds. That affect is permanent. Then you eat a Bighorner Steak and your strength increases by 3 points and so now you can carry 290 pounds. However, this bonus …

Perception: Determines when red markers appear on your compass(which are threats) and it affects the skills Explosives, Lockpick, and Energy Weapons. You need a perception of 6 to receive the Friend of the Night perk, the Sniper Perk, the Light Step perk, the Better Criticals Perk, and the Infiltrator perk. You need a perception less than 10 but greater than 1 to take the Four Eyes Trait and a perception less than 10 to take the perception implant.

My view: Perception affects some good skills, but that's not what you look for in a attribute. You look at the things that it affects that you can't raise in game, and its perks. For perception, this is the red markers appearing on your compass. Now this isn't overly useful since with the new iro…

This is how I'll run through Character Creation. I'll tell you what each attribute/skill/perk does and then I'll follow up with what I think of it and if you should pick it. I'll divide the perks into best perks, good perks, okay perks, bad perks, and worst perks. If you disagree with me you can just write it in the comments, but if you really want me to include your opinion in this guide you're going to have to back it up with decent information, but still, since this is my blog, my word is final. If you don't like my suggestions just pick your own, but don't blame me for any problems or difficulties you have.

Your gender does determine some of the perks you can receive, namely the Black Widow and Cherchez La Femme for females, and Lady Ki…

First off, I recommend that you have your game patched. When the game came out it was glitched to oblivion and patches have came out that fix many of these problems. I'll still include the bugs that were there before the patch for completeness sake and for those of you who don't have your game patched (although I see no reason why you wouldn't except maybe if you don't have internet, but then you wouldn't be able to read this guide I suppose either.)

I should also note that even with all the patches this game is going to freeze like it's going out of stile, so you're going to want to save a lot. The game does auto save a ton, but sometimes this is a bad thing, like if you screw up bad in the order in which you do the quests in this game and…
