While some have assumed that the recent reveal of the official Fallout Online website meant that Bethesda and Interplay have come to a settlement regarding their legal disagreements over the franchise, it looks like the litigation continues. The Fallout Online thread at Bethesda forum has been closed with the following message from Bethesda's Matt Grandstaff:
As this relates to an ongoing legal matter for our company, discussion on this topic will remain closed.”
Also, for some reason the footer on the Fallout Online website was changed. Initially, it was:
Fallout® is a registered trademark of Bethesda Softworks LLC, a ZeniMax Media company, in the U.S. and/or other countries, and is used by Interplay under license from Bethesda Softworks LLC. All Rights Reserved.”
The current version is:
Fallout® is a registered trademark of Bethesda Softworks LLC, a ZeniMax Media company, in the U.S. and/or other countries. All Rights Reserved.”
It probably means something, but what exactly is anyone's guess.
