Fallout 2009: Nothing Personal LARP in Russia

From The Vault

Between June 19 and 21, in a deserted Soviet military base near Leningrad, a LARP (live-action roleplay) game Fallout 2009: Ничто человеческое (Fallout 2009: Nothing Personal) based on the Fallout series took place. It was organized by the "Albion" group and ca. 300 fans took part in it, after months of preparations.

The LARP was set in 2257, 180 years after the Great War, between Fallout 2 and Fallout 3. The players dressed up as Brotherhood of Steel paladins and scribes, raiders, ghouls, super mutants and New California Rangers, while the game masters reconstructed Sierra Army Depot, Mariposa and New Reno, with bars, casinos and other institutions.

You can see more photos and read more about it (in Russian) here: Fallout 2009 «Ничто человеческое»

Thanks to Piotr Gnyp at Polygamia.pl for the tip.

seriously, they should get some tips on making power armor from that guy who attended wizard world. Also, burning the shrubs to create a more realistic post-apocalyptic setting would be ace. Hell, if they do that, they could probably make a pilot episode and show it to bethesda and maybe get a tv mini-series or even a movie in the works.

that is the nerdiest, most hilarious, and also the best way to show your detacation to the fallout series. They should do episodes there, and submit them them bethesda, or atleast machinima.

The radiation at Chernobyl has subsided to the point where it's safe to walk around without a suit. As long as you don't settle down and live there or eat and of the local flora, you should be fine.

This is awsome! They should do some more work on the Power Armor helmets though......

Wow, I wish I knew earlier that such an awesome event took place near St.Petersburg (former Leningrad), because it is the very city where I live. Indeed there is quite a number of abandonded bases/anti-missile sites around the city built during the Soviet era because of the city's close proximity to the state border with Finland. Finding a fully-authentic desert is a big problem, though - the area around St.Petersburg is mostly covered with thick forests and a great number of lakes of all sizes - it's a nothern region after all. P.S. laughed at the phrase "but then again they're russians, so that explains alot" ))))))
