I'm not really good at introductions but, I'm -bleep196-. Most people know me as Bleep, or "That guy with the laser eyes" or "The bug smasher" or "That guy who keeps spamming recent edits" due to several of my roles and mannerisms both in chat, and in my editing practices. After some discussion with Agent C, and other members of the Admin/BC team I decided that since my role in the community is often limited, and I spend quite a bit more time editing than interacting, It would be good if I contributed to our expanding community news and events. Hey guys, as I'm sure some of you have already heard, news recently broke about the Heartbleed bug. This bug is not a hoax and poses a serious threat to private user information across the web.

The hearbleed bug is a vulnerability in the Open SSL software which 66% of all websites use to secure their sites. You know that little lock that appears by the address bar at the top of your browser when you are logging in, or conducting transactions in a game or through steam, or just moving money around in paypal? I'm now going to tell you what exactly it is that I have in mind, and what, more specifically, it is that I am working towards.

The original goals of the project can be found in the page linked above, but this was more than just a …

Welcome to the 5th edition of the Weekly House Technical Update. We've got a couple things to cover this week.

As some of you may have noticed the recent activity page has been filled with edits by me in regards towards the Bug Verification Project. This is but the first of many steps I will be taking in re-initiating the project and better standardizing the bug sections of our articles.

You can find more information in a link that I will post here later on.

Thanks to some recent programming updates we are switching over some of the House's systems from manual maintenance to a more automated process thanks to bots. These bots will be working regularly and we will be monitoring their activity closely, so don't even think about reprogramming th…
