The .50 cal machine gun is a heavy gun in Fallout 76.
Characteristics[]
The M2 Browning machine gun[1] is a belt-fed automatic heavy weapon chambered for .50 caliber rounds. It holds 250 rounds at a time in an ammo can and fires quickly, though it suffers from a high spread which increases the longer the weapon's trigger is held down. The MG also lacks any usable sights, with manual aiming in first-person view relying on the player's sole use of the crosshair.
Other than a prime receiver, the only upgrade available for the .50 cal MG is an alternative barrel, which boosts damage. To be able to use the weapon, the player character must be at least Level 25 as that is the minimum level this weapon can be crafted at.

The Action Hero - A unique 50 cal machine gun given as a Survival mode reward from April 23–29 and August 27 - September 2, 2019.- Final Word - Given as a reward for completing Beckett's questline.
Locations[]
- Hemlock Holes - South of the white warehouse, near a downed Vertibird, in the back of a destroyed truck.
- One may also appear in a destroyed truck on the road south-east of Clarksburg.
- One can appear northwest of The Retreat at Cliffwalk Track, in the back of a sandbag laden truck.
- One may be found while exploring Uncanny Caverns during A Knight's Penance, shortly before entering the hidden crevice.
- May appear as a random drop from Scorchbeasts.
- Abandoned Bog Town - near sandbags in the back of a large, fortified truck on the main road in town.
- The raider vendor bots in Pleasant Valley Station, Sutton Station and Welch Station can sell both the weapon and its plans.
- The vendor bot at Watoga Shopping Plaza can sell the plan.
- Random drop from government aid drops.
Notes[]
- While firing in third-person view, the moving ammo belt may clip through its box's lid.
- The .50 cal machine gun uses the melee bashing animations for rifles, and so its user will grip a non-existent stock.
- Outside of its editor ID, the .50 cal machine gun is listed in the game files as "rifleredding."
- Prior to an update, there was no period in the .50 cal machine gun's name, and was instead called the "50 cal machine gun".[clarification needed]
