United We Stand is one of the companion perks in Fallout 4.
Obtaining
To gain the perk, the Sole Survivor has to reach maximum affinity with Preston Garvey.
Effects
The player character's Damage Resistance is increased by 20 points and the player character deals +20% damage when outnumbered at least 3 to 1.
Notes
- Generally, a way to improve affinity involves having conversations as much as possible with Preston around. Do favors for people and resolve fights as a pacifist.
- United We Stand is one of the most useful companion perks, as it offers considerable combat bonuses without requiring the Sole Survivor being close to death before it activates or being specific to certain enemy types, like many other companion perks are. Coupled with the fact that almost any combat situation involves at least three enemies, unlocking this perk should be made a priority early in the game.
Behind the scenes
The phrase "United we stand" is a phrase derived from United we stand, divided we fall. It originally came from the Greek writer Aesop, but has more recently been used in the United States to promote unity.
