Turn on power for the Glow is a side quest in Fallout.

Quick walkthrough

Side Quest: Turn on power for the Glow 
Enter the Glow and go to level 6. 
Repair the generator. 
Reward: 1000 XP
Access to level 5 of the facility 

Detailed walkthrough

In order to turn the power on for the Glow, the Vault Dweller will need to make their way down through the levels, picking up the key access cards along the way. Once they reached level 6, they can pass a repair check to fix the generator (requires a high Repair skill level) and then restart the power. The player should be mindful of the time spent repairing, as each failed attempt will increase the clock by 20 minutes.

Access to Level 5 of the complex grants the Vault Dweller the option of snagging the plasma rifle. An additional 1000 XP are granted once the Vault Dweller arrives at Level 5.

Notes

  • The Vault Dweller can easily turn on the power on the first try with Repair 55 or greater.
  • Using a tool can significantly increase the Vault Dweller's chances of repairing the generator.
  • Repairing the generator and then turning on the power from ZAX allows him to turn off the robots and move around the base freely.
  • If the Vault Dweller just repairs the generator, it will activate the security systems.
