Tony Fry is the deputy of the Hub around 2161.

Background

Deputy Tony Fry is the right hand of Justin Greene, the Hub sheriff around 2261.

Like the rest of the Hub, Fry knew about the growing criminal element in the settlement. Decker, owner of the Maltese Falcon bar, was known to be making moves to expand both his holdings and his influence, and suspicion pointed to his making designed on the lives of local merchants and residents. This did not sit well with the justice-minded Fry, however the deputy did not have much choice but to hold his ground; without evidence, Sheriff Justin Greene refused to take action against the crime lord, and Decker was too powerful for Fry to attempt unilateral action.

Generally, this left Fry with the inglorious job of essentially being the official police greeter. Fry welcomed newcomers to the Hub and kept his eye out for known troublemakers. Fry, however, was not above laying a few lies to embellish his position, often claiming to be keeping an eye out for raiders and other wasteland dangers. Mostly, however, Fry merely warned newcomers of the hazard Decker posed, but could offer little other information.

Daily Schedule

From morning (0600) to evening (1800,) Fry can be found guarding the entrance to The Hub with two other Hub Police Officers. During nightly hours, he can be found in his room in the police station. During this time, Fry can not be spoken to, he will merely groan.

Interactions with the Player Character

Decker's threat changed with the arrival of the Vault Dweller. Fry took the opportunity to present the problem of Decker to the Dweller. Either with proof, and therefore the Sheriff, or just with the Vault Dweller as backup, Fry would become emboldened enough to attack Decker -- for the good of the town. The underground was finally destroyed. During combat, Fry will only use the items he uses to trade, despite having a large inventory consisting of many other items.
