The tire iron is a weapon in Fallout: New Vegas.
Characteristics
A rusty old tire iron, normally used for loosening nuts from car tires. The tire iron has a high damage for a low-level weapon.
Special attack
It has a special Lights Out attack that does 125% damage in V.A.T.S. at the cost of 8 more action points (requires a Melee skill of 50).

It is possible to execute Lights Out outside of V.A.T.S. (without the required Melee skill of 50 to perform the move) by initiating a power attack (hold attack button) while moving forward.
Durability
The tire iron can successfully strike about 995 times from full condition before breaking.
Locations
- It can be found in most locations where low-level humanoid enemies are located, most notably Primm and Freeside, carried by some of the convicts or thugs.
- Commonly found on Vipers.
