The tire iron is a weapon in Fallout: New Vegas.
Characteristics
A rusty old tire iron, normally used for loosening nuts from car tires. It's special V.A.T.S. attack is "Lights Out", which does 125% damage at the cost of 35 action points (requires a Melee skill of 50). Outside of V.A.T.S. it can be used as a power attack. When used the player charges forward, jumps with the weapon raised above his/her head and strikes downward.
The tire iron has a high damage for a low-level weapon and can be extremely valuable to an inexperienced Courier.
Durability
The tire iron can successfully strike about 995 times from full condition before breaking.
Locations
It can be found in most locations where low-level humanoid enemies are located, most notably Primm and Freeside, carried by some of the convicts or thugs.
