The Pitt Bridge is a place in The Pitt. It consists of several cars/trucks and is filled with landmines and beartraps. The player should exercise extreme caution, as some of the cars can chain-react if they or one of the animals (there are two attack dogs and a molerat) on the bridge trips a landmine, decimating the bridge and killing everyone nearby. This may also make one of the Raiders hostile, although it doesn't seem to effect the others.

There are Bear Traps on the walkway portion of the bridge. It is advised to peek over the railing at the walkway before leaping over, lest the player land on the trap.

After the player crosses the bridge they will encounter several slaves attempting to escape, but they will most likely fail (and die) due to the landmines. This is a good time to loot a Slave outfit for the quest Into the Pitt.

Before the bridge are a group of Wildmen. There are a few supplies in their camp as well as a bed if the player wishes to get rest before crossing the bridge.

Note

  • The shoreline and water are much, much, more radiated than any body of water in the Capital Wasteland, often in the hundreds of rads per second.
  • There is a Raider sniper at the very top of the bridge. If you kill him and climb up the scaffolding on the pedestrian walkway on the you can get his Sniper Rifle and loot several boxes of ammunition. This Pitt Raider is always hostile.
  • Even if the player has disarmed the mines that kill the runaway slaves, they will still be killed by hidden, scripted explosions.
