Notes

  • The Forecaster adequately sums up many of the themes and paradigms for almost every faction and the entire New Vegas wasteland in a few short sentences.
  • When you ask him about "Here", in his last sentence he says: "Forecast: Cloudy, with a chance of Friendship". This is likely a reference to the children's book (1978) and Movie (2009) : "Cloudy with a chance of meatballs" it could also reference the close proximity of the companion Veronica.
  • His headgear is a Psychic Nullifier, a nod or Easter Egg to the original Fallout. It cannot be pickpocketed.
  • When speaking to The Forcaster, one response is worded incorrectly: "I might be interesting in buying your 'headache medicine.' How much?"
  • As a child, The Forecaster is unkillable by any means, even through the console's "Kill" command.

Bugs

  • On the PC Patch 1, the Forecaster can be seen floating in mid-air a few inches off the ground instead of on the ground in his sitting pose.
  • If you try to kill the forecaster with the sandman perk enough times, you may end up being transported to an irradiated part in the wasteland with no means of escape. (Confirmed for PS3) (A note from this reader/writer, this is probably not a bug.)

Appearances

The Forecaster appears in Fallout: New Vegas.
