It is a Wattz Electronics play-it-for-me tape recorder. It plays and records the standard 30 minute high density record-it-once tapes. This item is given to the Vault Dweller after an assassination attempt has been made on the mayor of Junktown (and proprietor of Darkwaters General Store), Killian Darkwater. As Killian believes that local Casino owner and reputed gangster Gizmo is behind the assassination attempt, the tape recorder is intended to get Gizmo's confession. The bug can also be used to get the confession.
