Tanned golden gecko hide is a miscellaneous item in Fallout: New Vegas.
Characteristics
This item can be crafted at a campfire if you have a Survival skill of 65. It requires:
- Golden gecko hide (1)
- Turpentine (2)
- White Horsenettle (1).
Uses
The main purpose of the Tanned Gecko Hide is for a bartering item, to exchange for caps or equivalent value, as it's value is increased 12.5 times to 250 caps, from the untanned version's value of 20 caps. This is more than twice the rate of increase compared to both the Tanned gecko hide and the Tanned Fire Gecko Hide. Crafting it contributes to your crafting challenges. With the add-on Honest Hearts, it is a crafting component for Gecko Backed Leather Armor, Gecko Backed Leather Armor (Reinforced), Gecko Backed Metal Armor, and Gecko Backed Metal Armor (Reinforced).
Notes
- Prior to patch 1.2.0.31x tanning a golden gecko hide also required a packet of RadAway and 10 pieces of white horsenettle.
