Splitting this Page[]

I don't really see a need to split this page, as of yet we have no confirmation that this will be the featured method of choosing your SPECIAL stats at the beginning of the game. The same goes for the upcoming content banner attached to the page, if the trailers and gameplay demos we've seen are any indication, the customization of your character is more likely to take place when your character is already an adult, and thus the utilization of this particular mechanic is not likely to appear. ---bleep196- (talk) 16:02, October 28, 2015 (UTC)

In Fallout 4 "You're SPECIAL!" is a skill book which can be picked up to increase any special stat, selected at pick up time. There is a copy in the Lone Wanderer's son's bedroom. It is visible when the game begins, but only usable after the wanderer leaves the vault. --Sj26 (talk) 07:20, November 10, 2015 (UTC)

I don't see why the topic should be split. Unless the fact that in Fallout 4 it only increases one stat of your choosing is enough to give it its own page? Thus spoke Shane for Wax (talk) 10:23, November 27, 2015 (UTC)

I also don't see any need to split the page. The small contribution the book does in Fallout 4 shouldn't be enough to require its own page. ZappaBusinessMonkey 10:58, November 27, 2015 (UTC)

Splitting isn't required since they have no difference.

Raising an attribute to 11 no longer possible?[]

I used Buffout addiction to lower Endurance from 10 to 9 but Endurance did not appear in the list. Perhaps a patch has disabled this exploit? Muad (talk) 19:02, January 25, 2016 (UTC)

I also experienced this, after lowering Luck from 10 to 9 via Day Tripper addiction, Luck did not appear in the list.--98.232.15.1 06:35, June 16, 2016 (UTC)

After avoiding the 'Chem Resistant' perk, found out addictions do not seem to work with raising special's past 10 via the book. The normal effects of alcohol & chems as well as clothing do. Raised luck to 11 by wearing the 'Tattered rags'.

Junk item in FO76[]

In 76 there is a listing in the game files for the You're SPECIAL! as an item, however I have not actually been able to verify if it is there or not. As the ID is PlayerHouse_Ruin_BabyBook01 I believe it may be related to CAMPS in some way. --Todoedits (talk) 12:47, July 19, 2020 (UTC)

PlayerHouse_Ruin is the player's house in Fallout 4. This item does not appear in Fallout 76.--DankalorYT 12:54, July 19, 2020 (UTC)
Perfect, I assume it is legacy content left in the engine. Odd that it is given a scrap value in the crafting system but who knows. --Todoedits (talk) 14:23, July 19, 2020 (UTC)
