Veronica's Dress

Hey fellas, I was doing the Beyond the Beef quest and decided to give Veronica a white society outfit to see if she could disguise. When I did a dialogue opened up with her squealing and thanking me for such a wonderful gift i.e. the "fancy" dress the outfit turns into for females. She then taught a special melee move that lets you counter attack after blocking it's called Scribe Counter, now is this the same dialouge you get for any dress? or just really fancy ones? 71.105.140.83 05:28, October 22, 2010 (UTC)

---Just those ones. It's a neat move for Unarmed players.

Does it only work if you're a girl? I've tried it a lot with various attires, and she hasn't given me the scribe counter yet...

((Edit)) Never mind. It took her approximately six days in game time to finally realize I'd given it to her (?)

I had her with me when I killed the two (male?) White Gloves who attack you when you investigate the dead investigator. I gave Veronica one of their outfits just to get it out of my inventory and she gave me the scribe perk. DarthOrc 00:48, June 16, 2011 (UTC)DarthOrc

Seriously?

Do we need to document every one-time glitch? A lot of things go wrong sometimes in this game. But that doesn't mean it's reoccurring. The 2 human follower glitch is just BS, it doesn't work at all!!!! The guy who posted it had it one time, no one else is having it; it should be deleted from the main page!!!.

We should. at least until it's confirmed fake. you sure it's not just you? you sure you're not playing a patched version, or on a console that it wasn't confirmed on?

My husband and I both play fallout New Vegas on the Xbox 360. We have had 2 companions running around with us all the time with no problems. We had no problems picking up Ed-E from Primm after upgrades with Veronica following us it has not been a one time thing for us. For both of us we picked up Ed-E before we had found Veronica and since we found Veronica we have had both of them following us everywhere all the time there also has not been any problems after completing their quests. Far as we knew the game was made so you could have 2 companions following you around at all times but who knows maybe Ed-E is just a freebie. I'll experiment sometime and see what comes of picking up a different follower along with Ed-E and see what happens without Ed-E if I can still have 2 companions at that point.

Is this complaint about the three-follower glitch or just a misunderstanding about the two-companion rules? I'd be interested in details about the three follower glitch, especially the part about her traveling inside a DLC location with you. That sounds neat.

the game allows you one robotic follower and one humanoid follower.

Base ID

Requesting someone to find the Base ID for Veronica. --209.172.34.113 05:59, October 24, 2010 (UTC)

the base id is very easy to find you just hit tilde then click on the object or in the geck editor hover the mouse over the item in the list and the id shows up veronica is 0x0e32a9

Her Hood

How can we get her to change her hat? TheTrueBlue 19:44, October 24, 2010 (UTC)

Give her any kind of equipment with at least 1 DR and she will automatically equip it. SSDGFCTCT9 (Talk) 19:56, October 24, 2010 (UTC)
Ok high DR makes her take off her beggar hood now. If only I could get Cass and Veronica to follow me around in Sexy Sleepwear or Naughty Nightwear... TheTrueBlue 21:31, October 24, 2010 (UTC)
give her the outfit you want and make her equip it via console...if your playing on pc

Whats the console command to make her unequipt something? --TrueToCaesar 23:14, February 1, 2011 (UTC)

I have both Cass and Ronnie in Chinese stealth armor, and they look fantastic. After the patch, Ronnie will wear a desperado hat, and with the authority glasses, she looks cute as hell. I actually prefer to have them wandering around the Lucky 38 suite, rather than following me: this way I can follow them, and the view is gorgeous. Tharnhelm 16:32, May 4, 2011 (UTC)

I gave her a Breathing Mask from the Lonesome Road add-on, and she put it on. And I could see her hair.

Gibson Shack

The reason she can decode the terminal message is because its part of her quest line. Should be noted. Remove this topic once corrected. --Radnus 81.205.186.16 02:05, October 26, 2010 (UTC)

Paladin toaster

Ironicly, she will also equip the Paladin Toaster if given to her. (Havent tested out other unique Power Fists, the Toaster appears to be superior to the one she uses by default, thus causing her to use it). --Radnus 81.205.186.16 02:12, October 26, 2010 (UTC)

Given a choice between a ballistic fist and a displacer glove, she will equip the latter even though the former does more damage. Wunengzi 01:58, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

That may be because her Strength SPECIAL is 7, and a Strength of 9 is required to get the full damage from the Ballistic Fist. The Displacer Glove only requires a Strength of 4. Gator Country 18:05, March 28, 2011 (UTC)

I gave her Pushy and the PT; I take Pushy away if we're hunting robots, or facing someone in Power Armor. It worked great when we got confronted in Hidden Valley at the end of her quest. Tharnhelm 16:35, May 4, 2011 (UTC)

Weapons

"She will not equip any weapons, just power fist for melee and 10mm for ranged." (She will actually equip various melee weapons and guns, though ammo MUST be provide or guns will be ignored ;))

Took this out of the Bugs section. Needs confirmation. It could just be that the original poster tried giving her weapons that weren't as good as her current ones - her 10mm pistol is in perfect condition and 10mms fire pretty quickly, giving it a deceptively large DPS. A better test is to give her a decent condition energy weapon, plus ammo. I've never had any problem giving her a multiplas rifle. As for her Power fist, she's got an Unarmed of 103. One Hundred and Freaking Three. The only melee weapon she'll consider equipping is an Unarmed weapon that's better than a Power Fist. Of which there aren't many. Zakrael 18:53, October 26, 2010 (UTC)

actually i think she'll equip anything that has a higher dps rather then over all damage, i handed her some spiked knuckles in only 25% condition and that replaced her original weapon. Similar thing happened when i handed her a 95% condition powerfist and a 95% spiked knuckle she kept the spiked knuckle on.

EDIT: Also, removed the list of weapons she can equip. Veronica (and, presumably, all companions) will equip ANY weapon that is an improvement over their current ones. There aren't many melee weapons that will make her better, but pretty much any decent condition energy weapon is an improvement over her 10mm. Zakrael 18:59, October 26, 2010 (UTC) (Again)

i gave veronica my super-sledge and she chooses that over unarmed altogether

I gave her a near mint plasma rifle and she wouldnt use it. She would use an Assault Carbine however, so I guess she soes pick based on DPS. TJbrena 16:29, December 1, 2010 (UTC)

I gave her the Q-35 Matter Modulator and she equipped it as soon as I told her to used ranged. Also, I asked her to carry some (top-condition) spiked knuckles and she prefers those over her power fist, but she seems to be more effective with the power fist.--173.30.116.159 18:37, December 4, 2010 (UTC)

I gave her the Recharger pistol but she wont use it. Perfect condition, too. Just the bloody 10mm pistol. I could cry.Laclongquan (talk) 14:47, February 21, 2013 (UTC)

Fast Travel Glitch

OK, I fast-travelled from Crimson Caravan to Mojave Outpost and she's disappeared completely. Will she catch up eventually, or do I have to go find her? If so, where is she? Any help is appreciated. --JohnnyVoodoo 00:28, October 28, 2010 (UTC)

I don't think she's disappeared completely, but sometimes companions appear in really weird places when you go through loading screens. "Weird" meaning "impossible to reach". It'll be quicker to reload the last save you made before fast travelling. Zakrael 13:04, October 28, 2010 (UTC)

Just go to gun runners or the Lucky 38 companion terminal and dismiss all of your companions then just go get them again. I've had to do it a few times when my companions disappear or get stuck somewhere and fast traveling doesn't work. JasonCivilian 21:15 October 16, 2012 (UTC)

Not getting Scribe Counter

Reverse pickpocketed the Formal Wear from a white glove member in the Ultra-Luxe, gave it to Veronica and got the dialogue of her thanking me for the dress and offering to teach the move. I accept, the screen fades to black and returns and... nothing. The perk does not appear in the list. I reloaded several times and it never worked. Ranger takedown appears in my perk list but not this.

Does it have a minimum Unarmed requirement? Could the fact that I have completed her quest I Could Make You Care have any effect? Though it shouldn't since I still get the dialogue about the giving her the dress and her offering the move.(On PS3)Dr. Lobotomy 16:23, October 28, 2010 (UTC)

Same thing happened to me. Good thing I ignore Unarmed anyway! TJbrena 16:49, January 10, 2011 (UTC)

I think the problem is some kind of bug that allows you to have only one melee perk. It happened to me too as Ranger Takedown is working but I don't get the Scribe Counter. I haven't had the opportunity to check on the other melee guy in Caesars tent yet. xNOKIx 18:27, February 11, 2011 (UTC)

I don't know what you are playing on, but playing on the Xbox360 I have a character with the Legion, Ranger, Great Khan and Scribe perks. DarthOrc 00:58, June 16, 2011 (UTC)DarthOrc

Attacks Legion regardless of standing?

Either the person who added that is mistaken or my game is bugged. I've taken her to Cottonwood Cove among other places without her or any Legion NPCs becoming hostile.

I've been wondering about that too. On the PC version Veronica will only commence an attack on the Legion if they are already hostile (red on compase), if they are not, she will tag along and leave the Legion alone. The person who added must have had its version of the game bugged. -- Radnus 81.205.186.16 21:10, November 1, 2010 (UTC)

I'm confirming: she won't attack Legion unless given a good reason. Maybe someone should edit the page (n00bie here) -- leLoir

Lucky 38

After the patch they just teleport there.

Negative Health?

Veronica randomly fell unconcious and accumulated a large amount of negative health.

E.T. Go Home ?

So I was right in the middle of Vault 3 getting that part for the Brotherhood when Veronica engages me into dialogue, talkin about how she wants to go home coz she misses her people or whatnot and if you open up a dialogue with her there's the option to say "I'm ready to take you to Hidden Valley". Is this somethin that happens often, or is it like part of her sidequest? I never did the sidequest properly coz I bought the gun off the kid in freeside too soon without realizing. --Penumbra 05:31, November 2, 2010 (UTC)

When you bring her back you both talk to the Elder and Veronica voices her opinion and displeasure with the rules of the Brotherhood. It doesn't take long, your in and out in no time but it starts more quests and eventually your able to join the Brotherhood, I joined but haven't found out if that was a good move yet.

Not Leveling

My Veronica on the Xbox is not leveling neither. Her health stays at 215. Anyone know if Bethesda acknowledge this?

Same with PC and PS3, could be intentional. UraniYum 16:33, November 5, 2010 (UTC)

I have a feeling that her not leveling has to do with her Unarmed skill being over the naturally allowed limit. Might be causing the game engine problems when trying to improve her skills as a part of her leveling up. Thoughts? --Carthiah 22:59, November 6, 2010 (UTC)

Intentional doesn't really make sense..Her health stays at 215 and gets slaughtered easily at high levels even having Power armor.

The over 100 unarmed skill may be a cause though. Guess us PS3s and Xboxs are screwed...

I think it is intentional. She starts with 103 unarmed skill and an amazing 270 HP (on PC). Awesome companion, she can immediately wear power armor and use energy weapons very efficiently. The only drawbacks of this character are she can't sneak efficiently and she does not level. But remember the other companions are limited to level 20 and they can't use power armor. Compare with Cass : at level 20 she has only 285 HP and her best possible armor is the reco. 15 HP more but 8 DT less... --Croquignol 04:58, November 16, 2010 (UTC)

Veronica on my PC version starts with 215, but I recruited her at lvl 5. 270 HP is if you wait until which lvl to recruit? I installed the mod that let her level, and what happens is she kills just about anything before I could land a hit, thus making the game kind of boring. And when she does go out of commission, I'm almost not long behind...

EDIT: Veronica not leveling is an in game bug. The developers recently confirmed this is a bug that will most likely be rectified in the next patch. but I'm not sure if it has been rectified in patch 1.2.

Veronica has 310 HP for me on Xbox 360, I'm at level 27 71.83.45.87 03:16, January 18, 2011 (UTC)

Edit

Someone said that she will attack any unnamed legion. This is untrue, as i went to the Fort many times with her in my party, and no one turned hostile on her, nor did she attack any of them. This should be edited out, but my game may be glitched.

No, you're game isn't glitched. I also went to the fort many times with her during my Caesar's Legion playthrough. --Liam1127 10:36, June 3, 2011 (UTC)

No mention of her post-Hoover Dam fate?

I just finished the game and oddly the recap in the credits mentions all of the companions (even Rex and ED-E) but says nothing about Veronica or Boone. Anyone know if you must fulfill criteria or if she simply has no post-game fate?

--When I finished it said she went on to wander the wasteland and eventually die, I think. Even though I personally killed her when she left me, because I killed the BoS. (She tried leaving with lots of equipment, so I had to kill her to get it.)

She is mentionned in the endings, and the endings are weird. Apparently Cass commited suicide for some unfathomable reason and bright's disciples came back from their interstellar trip to defend Novac against the defunct Caesar Legions... No comment. Maybe it depends of the game. Next time try to ignore her completely, if she is a total stranger perhaps you'll get a long, long story about her.

92.16.126.159 18:34, December 30, 2010 (UTC) I got one where it said she found her lost love, but they were were too different for each other and parted ways. she later committed suicide out of grief. has anyone else got this, cause I think it's a crap ending for a brilliant character92.16.126.159 18:34, December 30, 2010 (UTC)

Crap ending maybe, but totally realistic. Veronica is an idealist, and she's already had her extended family, the BoS, betray her hopes and commit itself to self-destruction. As you can hear from her comments when she sees advanced tech that the Brotherhood won't consider, she has developed a very strong sense of futility (see also her bleak remarks about the death of her parents, who "died fighting somewhere... I can't remember.... I guess it must have been important.") A romantic disaster on top of that could easily have pushed her over the edge. What would she have to live for? Wunengzi 02:11, January 8, 2011 (UTC)
Fate of the trans, gay and lesbian in this game is not a happy lot. Arcade is barely able to have a good ending. Christine live like a ghost. If you squint real hard to Lily as transhuman, not a happy fate either.Laclongquan (talk) 14:45, March 4, 2013 (UTC)

BoS Reputation

According to the article, if you meet her prior to destroying the bunker she will join then leave. However, I destroyed the bunker before meeting her and I seem to be able to keep her for as long as I want. My reputation with the BoS is 'soft-hearted devil'. This appears to be because I hacked the turret control terminal and caused the devices to attack the BoS, and thus the turrets, not me, did most of the killing. I theorize that her following you seems to be based on your BoS reputation. However, New Vegas, like Fallout 3, is glitchy game (I know, 'what else is new?'), so I would like someone to discuss this.--DrMGinius 18:15, November 11, 2010 (UTC)

I was able to keep her as well. --Pongsifu 10:19, December 7, 2010 (UTC)

Another kind of dress?

After gaining the Scribe Counter attack from the dresses in the UltraLuxe, I ended up going back to the Nipton Town Hall, which I had previously skipped over.

A few of the dead civilians inside the town hall are wearing Caravaneer Outfits. Giving one of these to Veronica caused her to exclaim "Aw, you shouldn't have! It's just my taste. Thank you."

Apparently this item also qualifies as a "dress". Garzahd 19:47, November 11, 2010 (UTC)

Yes. It is under the "skirt outfits" list and the script checks if the cloth you give her is in this list. This list is mainly used for the sitting animation of female characters but conveniently used also in this script. For female characters the caravaneer outfit is indeed a dress.--Croquignol 05:20, November 16, 2010 (UTC)

She said something similar when I gave her a bunch of armor from raiders. But nothing else. The Formal Wear from Vegas is the only trigger for the perk?

How do you recruit her?

A friend of mine told me that she was a possible companion, so I want to get that achievement (i'm on 360) where you get all the followers.

I remembered I encountered her before I knew she was possible companion, and that I talked to her with all the conversation options before, but nothing came of it. And now I'm talking to her again and my only option is goodbye. Did I mess up the opportunity for her to join me? If not then how do I get her to follow me?

many things could have happened: you could have to many followers (ED-E or rex and any other human follower or lily), you could have killed the brotherhood thus causing her to hate you, or the game could just hate you, as bethesda games like this hate all, and decided to bar you from getting her. but if you have the PC version, just use the gamers best friend: Console commands! i don't know the specific commands for this situation, but i'm sure it's somewhere on this wiki. sincerly, 98.142.48.139 03:58, November 24, 2010 (UTC)

You can't get her as a companion if, during the initial conversation, you tell her you dont like the BOS. I had not had any contact with the BOS when I tried to recruit her, but I did tell her I dont like the BOS. Now the only speech option is 'goodbye'. Maybe this should be in the article? 86.174.209.126 14:40, December 7, 2010 (UTC)

I cannot get veronica as a companion? Can anyone help me?

Every time I talk to her this happens...

"Couldn't get enough of talking to me huh?"
"I'm ready to travel with you."
"Good. I hoped you would come around. Shall we?"

And then my only option is...

"I'd like to, but I can't take you with me right now."

What is it that i have not done and how do i get her to become my companion. I Have tried this with multiple characters on my file and cannot do it, but when my brother uses his file he can do it just fine.

Do you have a companion with you already?--DrMGinius 13:11, November 15, 2010 (UTC)
Do you have a Mechanical and human or super mutant companion with you already? you're only allowed to have one of each, or only 1 companion in the case of the super mutant.

I have had both Lilly and Rex as companions at the same time. (xbox360) DarthOrc 01:06, June 16, 2011 (UTC)DarthOrc

Lily (the Nightkin/Super Mutant) is humanoid for the companion limits, you're allowed one robotic (Rex, Ed-E) and one one humanoid (everybody else). --87.156.198.223 00:32, June 20, 2011 (UTC)

I had to send my companions home before she would go with me.

Possible

Is it possible to get her to wear a dress without console commands?

Joshua A

Her default wear is the scribe's robe, which will only be replaced by anything with higher DT... so a dress won't go on without console command.

Quest unable to start

I have visited several of the required locations, and yet the quest refuses to start.Dont find this in the bug section have anyone else encountered this problem?

It happens only after she confronts elder Mc Namara. Try wandering a bit until she says something. But you must speak to her, she will not engage the subject on her own. --Croquignol 05:25, November 16, 2010 (UTC)

^Thanks. I've left her at the 188 for some time. She did engage with me when re-recruited, talking at length about the BoS and their ways, how she needs to take it into her own hands etc... It seemed like a new conversation. I've gone straight to the vault 3 ramp and...nothing, some new options since I got the Platinum Chip but it hasn't triggered anything. What dialogue option(s) am I supposed to choose??

nb: It's late in the game. I may have obtained the C-finder before meeting her, and now the pulse gun. She also got me into the bunker.

Leaving after BOS Bunker destroyed

Does anyone know if she still leaves you as a companion when you blow up the Hidden Valley Bunker after you have finished her companion quest, I Could Make You Care, and had her leave the Brotherhood of Steel? --121.98.182.120 09:32, November 18, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, she left me when I did that. 24.62.59.89 00:06, March 18, 2011 (UTC)Kaz

She stays IF you send her to The Lucky 38 before destroying the bunker. --Liam1127 10:40, June 3, 2011 (UTC)

The Tops

After leaving The Tops after a gunfight with Benny, I had been surprised to find her unique 10mm pistol and her Power fist in my inventory. She would not use any weapons I have given her, and after sending her back to the 188 Trading Post, I keep hearing her phrase "I'm gonna need a new pair of limbs." Her weapons can not be given back to her and if dropped, it says "Steal" with an X icon (PS3) and you can't pick it back up. Any improvised fixes? Nukey talk 03:21, November 21, 2010 (UTC)

only fix i know of is to reload a save, and keep reloading. eventually, the doorman MIGHT give her the equipment. i don't know.

hidden valley glitch

okay so I started Veronica's side quest and every time i try to talk to the Elder I can't. I'll click on him but I wont enter dialogue with him. Could this be happening because I haven't done the Still in the Dark quest line? oh and this is on the 360 version.

--Yukimoda 22:19, November 26, 2010 (UTC)

You won't be able to talk to McNamara until she talks to him first. Wait for a few seconds, or move away if you are standing in between the two. I believe this only happens if you any one of the three pieces of technology (Pulse Gun/Euclid's C-Finder/Farming tech) and thus initiates Veronica's plea to the Elder. --Hydroforge 13:33, November 30, 2010 (UTC)

Still in the Dark/I Could Make You Care conflict?

I was heading into Vault 3 to get the last items needed for completing "Still in the Dark" when Veronica's dialogue for "I Could Make You Care" was triggered. I told her to wait on it a while, then I went in and retrieved the air filter parts. After leaving the vault, I then spoke to her and informed her I was taking her home, so her quest was then offered. Upon returning to McNamera, she had her dialog with him before I could inform him I had given the parts to Lorenzo. After they finished, I spoke to McNamera about fixing the air filter, and he told me the Brotherhood would be venturing out of the bunker. I then looked at Veronica's quest, and didn't see any new objectives, or see any map markers relating to it. Her quest seemed "stuck". Is this because completing "Still in the Dark" achieves her goal of getting the Brotherhood out of isolation? Or, because prior to starting her quest I had also completed "That Lucky Old Sun" without diverting power to Archimedes II, and gotten the Pulse Gun from Vault 34, and completed "There Stands the Grass" (all related to the samples of tech she wants to bring as proof to McNamera that they should leave the bunker), did this make it so she couldn't go find anything to show to McNamera? Will I be able to complete her quest??--173.30.116.159 18:55, December 4, 2010 (UTC)

You can do the two quests at the same time (I did). If you completed That Lucky Old Sun without diverting the power to Archimedes II, then that just won't be one of the three options. After she confronts him she should just say "lets go, he isn't going to change his mind" and then later down the hall say she couldn't believe he wouldn't listen. Through dialogue you can convince her that there has to be another way to convince him, which leads to the next part. If she doesn't initiate a conversation, try talking to her directly outside the bunker. --Pongsifu 10:34, December 7, 2010 (UTC)

Keeping Veronica and destroying the BoS Bunker

A few people have said they were able to keep Veronica after destroying the bunker and it needed to be verified so I did it, it is indeed possible. Here is what I did:

  • Completed Veronica's quest, I Could Make You Care (may not be necessary).
  • Did the entire Still in the Dark quest line, keeping McNamara as elder (I don't know if it makes a difference who is Elder but since his quest line is longer/harder I thought it might give more rep).
  • Did the missing laser pistol side quest
  • Did the isolating the virus side quest
  • Pickpocketed the three keycards, used a stealthboy, activated the self destruct sequence and left without fighting or killing anyone. Someone else said they were able to keep her after activating the turrets to turn on the BoS but I wanted to keep casualties as low as possible (none) through direct conflict as I wasn't sure if it would affect anything.

After all that was done I had the Soft-Hearted Devil reputation with the BoS and Veronica didn't react at all, she is still my companion (she was waiting outside the bunker when it exploded since she wouldn't go inside). --Pongsifu 10:25, December 7, 2010 (UTC)

I got her to stay by doing similar (never found the pistol). I'm guessing you just work with them until you are idolized to buffer the massive tank in reputation after blowing them up. While she did stay, she did threaten to leave if I continued to fight them (won't be a problem!). I think the lengthy note in the article about how to keep her by sneak-killing everyone should be changed to something simpler about earning a high BoS reputation. 24.62.59.89 00:17, March 18, 2011 (UTC)Kaz

Veronica's father and mother - why are people changing this?

People keep changing the line that says "Veronica's father was a paladin and her mother was a scribe," switching father and mother back and forth. I checked her dialogue, and she says her father was the paladin and her mother was a scribe. Is there another line that says the opposite, or is this just some really subtle vandalism? --Dmunsil 21:24, December 21, 2010 (UTC)

My fault, i got her confused with that other bird, the scribe assistant one. Clueless93 21:31, December 21, 2010 (UTC)

Dead Money speech extras?

I found the tape in elijahs bunker tried talking to her, but isn't she supposed to say something else after dead money?

Related to this, what do the perks listed on the page actually do? Usernametaken 00:39, December 24, 2010 (UTC)
I see someone linked them in the article. Thanks Usernametaken 17:45, December 24, 2010 (UTC)

When Veronica is your companion, it is is possible that she will not respond to any of the 'triggers' for the quest I Could Make You Care.

So I have just ran into this bug on the 360, and I don't know what else to do. I've tried telling her to leave, then regroup with her. I've tried all of the triggers, none of them work. Is there no way around this?

I also have this problem, tried everything..did you ever get it fixed? If so, how?--Syndog82 01:49, May 15, 2012 (UTC)--

Right Handed Tattoo

Recently I let Veronica join my party and gave her the Love and Hate Spike Knuckles. I then proceeded to do her "I Could Make You Care" loyalty quest. When she was talking to Elder McNamara I noticed that on her right hand there was some black symbol. I wasn't able to see the entire thing only the back of her hand. Just wanted to know if someone could investigate this to see if she may have her entire right arm tattooed. Just need to find something sleeveless that has more than 6 Damage Threshhold. -Tomo Stryker

I don't think tatoos could appear ingame due to the gamemechanics. Though there might be a unique wear, similar to the pip-boy.

Unless you have a weird body replacer installed, she's not tattoed. Personal_Sig_Image.gif Tagaziel (call!) 13:26, December 30, 2010 (UTC)

Well if it wasn't a tattoo than what black marking was on the back of her hand? Or was it part of her "Armored Robes"?

Not a tattoo at all my friend. The love and hate suffers from a texture glitch that only effects female characters. -sum guy

Bug

Just got her, and I opened her inventory to see if she would wear legion armor, and it said the disguise thing, and my L stick and R stick would move through inventory nor did RT and LT.Xbox 360 version. Can anyone else confirm?--TheReaver74 20:20, January 4, 2011 (UTC)

Possible post fallout 3 meaning?

Possible Post fallout 3 Reference

When saying that One chapter of the BOS had a small civil war which is possibly referencing the capital wasteland chapter I would personally like to direct you to the word HAD which possibly means that the war between the BOS and the outcasts is over Cloudstrife133 19:25, January 10, 2011 (UTC)

Technically speaking the Outcasts and the Capital Wasteland BoS aren't at war, they are dissident groups that don't step on each other foots. You never see Outcasts attacking the BoS headquarters or BoS interfering with Outcasts operation. They are different groups, that after "a war" between them gone in separate paths. Huuugee glitch involving BoS bunker

Game just glitched so badly. Siding with Caesar and he's just told me to blow the BoS bunker up. thought i'd pick veronica up so i wouldn't have as much trouble with them. went to 188 to get her and forgot the NCR hated me, had to fight pretty much everyone there. got veronica and went off to the hidden bunker. Went inside, down all the stairs and was greeted by ramos, who took me to see the Elder. talking to him starts me on Still In the Dark, which i kinda wanted to do anyway for the XP. forwards me to outside the entrance next to the intercom, where veronica is stood continuously saying "see you around". I cant move, or bring up my pipboy. no hud. nothing. loaded a save just before Ramos and tried to get rid of Veronica. wont even let me fucking talk to her. Kill her, and she gets up 5 seconds later as if nothing happened. can't loot her body or anything. Presumably the only thing i can do now is go in to the bunker all guns blazing, but considering my setup is a stealth sniper, this wouldn't be wise. Any Ideas anyone?

Not There

I went to the 188, looked around alot, an shes not there. I'm on PS3, is this a bug?

Probably. I'm on PS3 and I have Veronica.

Hair please

Can we get an overarching thing going where we can see what people like Veronica and Cass look like without hats in the gallery. I hear people say oh just put on a space helmet but this would just make it easier. 24.19.227.186 23:47, February 12, 2011 (UTC)

Side quest bug fix

On the main page there are several fixes such as downloading a mod or remembering to initiate the second conversation before she does. I saw a pretty simple fix on Youtube where you circle her with bombs, then blast her off the ground in 1 shot. That seems pretty simple and resets her after she dropped back down. But this will only work for non-hardcore mode tho...

VERONICA IS A PAIN

I killed one NCR trooper and now she asks "whats up"? Every few seconds. To fix this I sent her to the lucky 38. And she never arrived.

Glitch?

As I was speaking with Veronica, she mentioned she had had a female lover earlier in her life in the BoS. I politely declined her offer to join me (Boone was standing right there), but at the mention of the unnamed woman, Boone pulled out his .50 cal and blew her head off. I don't mean he blew her head up into little pieces, I mean when he shot her entire body exploded into little tiny bits and covered the ground in blood. It startled me to a great degree, but as I stood there, staring at the blood puddles and raining body parts, I decided it didn't involve me and no retribution was necessary. I'm still at a loss at to what kind of AI bug would cause Boone to do such a thing, so it's probably a glitch. On an unrelated note, very shortly before this happened I lost track of about ten C4 detpacks and I never found them again. --68.109.178.229 16:58, February 25, 2011 (UTC)

"Natural Causes" is a general statement

I have removed the note that says Veronica says the line "Probably would have died of natural causes anyway" after killing Hell's Grannies (Malefic Maud, etc), due to the fact that that's one of her general "Done killing things now" lines.

Platinum Chip dialog error?

If you ask her about the Platinum Chip she says she thinks it was made before the war, but then goes on and says "mid 2200s"

Obviously the 2200s are not pre-war, so is this an oversight or did I miss something?

  • I noticed the same thing when I was playing. I think it's an oversight. Unless there was some cut dialog, or a comment on how advanced it is, it's just another typo.--99.92.76.100 01:53, September 25, 2011 (UTC)

Dad was a Paladin, Mom was a Scribe

Is the correct dialogue. Talk to Veronica, select "Tell me about yourself.", select "Do you have any other family in the Brotherhood?", she states "Just my parents, but they haven't been around for a long time. Dad was Paladin, Mom was a Scribe. They died in the same battle trying to hold off the NCR from... something. I don't remember what is was. Guess it seemed important at the time." Great Mara 09:27, June 6, 2011 (UTC)

Console Command for Dialogue Reset?

Is there a console command to reset her dialogue at all? I'm almost level thirty and she will not join me at all. Even if I have all of my companions dismissed she doesn't give me the option to let her join. All I can figure is during my initial conversation with her I must have chosen to say something negative about the BoS. I was hoping to reset the dialogue so I could start over and get her to join me.

Yes there is. Stand in front of Veronica and hit the tilde key to bring up the console. Next, click on Veronica (her ID should appear at the top of the screen). Type in "resetdialogueflags" and hit enter. Hit tilde again to get out of the console and then talk to her- it'll be like you've just met her again. Cheers!

Renata?

How do we know that's Veronica's middle name? I don't remember anyone or anything mentioning her middle name. Is there a holotape or something in Old World Blues that mentions her middle name? 67.169.175.134 07:54, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

It was mentioned in one of the previews. Personal_Sig_Image.gif Tagaziel (call!) 11:45, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

Melee skill 100?

I've read that her melee skill is 100 (or can be at a certain level). Anyone can confirm that? That would make Elijah's perks worth considering. SkyHiRider 18:39, July 31, 2011 (UTC)

Well, no. I give her the Protonic Inversal Axe along with Saturnite Fist Super-Heated. The Fist have less DAM and DPS, but she wear the Fist and not the Axe.

valence thingy

the bugs section says that when she wears the valence accentuator thing she turns bald like christine but is this really a bug? because it turns everyone bald. -The Polar Bear lives 03:26, August 5, 2011 (UTC)

As I recall, the valence is marked as "hair", not as "hat", which is why you can combine it with certain helmets. So that would explain why she shows as bald when wearing just that.

Vera's Outfit

So the section on giving Veronica a fancy dress to get her to a) give you her quest and b) teaching you the unarmed special move... It said that Vera's outfit from the Dead Money DLC would work and I did not find this to be the case. She did not react at all to having that dress put into her inventory. This was a fresh play through, so I hadn't given any other dresses at this point. So I changed it to say that Vera's outfit DIDN'T work, but this may change in the future or possibly my game was glitched? Anybody find anything different? --- TandyBomb 04:40, August 7, 2011 (UTC)

Rather than saying it does not work, why not remove it outright? Or you could add it under notes with a {verify} category next to it. I know they're only meant to be for bugs, but I don't see why they can't be used for other things. Yes Man default 04:42, August 7, 2011 (UTC)
Well, Veronica is looking for a fancy, elegant, feminine dress. And that outfit is pretty much the nicest thing I've ever seen in a Fallout game ever, it's nicer even then the White Glove Society attire, AND you can get two of them. So of course you think of giving one to Veronica. I think it's worth mentioning that it doesn't work.

--- TandyBomb 04:47, August 7, 2011 (UTC)

Fair enough, I see your point. Well, if you tried it just then and it didn't work, I say that you made the right choice. I myself did not try it, but thinking logically, the game would really only need one outfit to complete the requirements. It makes more sense that way, in my opinion. If anyone tries it and it works, then they can change the page later on. Yes Man default 04:52, August 7, 2011 (UTC)

Recon Helmet

I was trying to find a helmet that doesn't cover her face that she would wear because the sound of people's voices with a full helmet on annoys me. I was trying to give her the Recon helmet because I thought it would let decent with the Power armor I gave her, but she won't wear it. She just keeps the hood on. Is this a bug or what? It's not like it has no DR or anything. :P Gary 42 02:35, August 24, 2011 (UTC)

I'll have to go into a save and try to find one since, for some reason, this wiki hates helmets so I don't have the stats handy. (The article on recon armor doesn't include info on the helmet and searching for Recon helmet in the search bar redirects to Recon armor.) But it's possible that the recon helmet isn't as good as the one she wears by default? Just a guess. --- TandyBomb 15:38, August 27, 2011 (UTC)

Veronica's 10mm

I could NOT get Veronica to put away the 10mm pistol, which is extremely frustrating, but then, as soon as I gave her ammo for a higher DPS weapon (i.e. a Plasma Rifle) she switched. So: Give her AMMO and a weapon. Problem solved.

Oddly, I can't use her to stick with the 10mm Pistol. She keeps using the Power Fist when taking on dangerous enemies, like Legion Fireteams and Deathclaws, and is quickly beaten by their Thermic Lances/Super Sledges and... claws. Real annoying. IsaacKronenFaust 08:44, October 29, 2011 (UTC)

Companions will switch weapons depending on the situation, for instance, even with Boone if an enemy gets close he may switch to his machete or the strongest close combat weapon in his inventory. User:Great_MaraMessage 08:59, October 29, 2011 (UTC)

How do I get the All American gun?

Firing her makes her hostile

I've never had any bugs with companions like this before so I have no idea what is going on. I had Veronica with me for a while, then fired her to start Lonesome Road. Next time I went to the 188 she was hostile. So I went back a whole bunch of saves to one where she was still my companion. I fired her then and there and she instantly became hostile. On every save I do it I am either neutral or liked by the BoS, so I don't know why she does it. Any ideas? Anyone else get this? And I'm on PS3, so don't suggest a mod or console command. --95.83.231.128 18:53, August 16, 2012 (UTC)

Should have been an actor

On one occasion when Veronica was knocked out she said "Should have been an actor" and other "bury me in a nice dress", anyone know the others?

Destroying the bunker before Adding her

This hasn't been asked yet i think. What happens if you destroy the brotherhood bunker after you talk to her but before you add her as a companion? 146.187.0.29 20:28, November 6, 2012 (UTC)

AFAIK she is disabled if you haven't taken her on as a companion, and destroy the bunker. Dulogo Digital Utopia (talk) 03:07, September 10, 2014 (UTC)

- you make me feel like a woman -

No wonder when you finally give her a formal dress and Vernoica shrieks in glee, she still wont put it on. She would look absolutely ridiculous in a formal dress with her shaved head. Pictures showing her with hair? where did they come from? --1000HrsFallout3 (talk) 17:08, February 20, 2013 (UTC) Just seen that everyone who one who wears the health generator appears shaved...shame..--1000HrsFallout3 (talk) 17:24, February 20, 2013 (UTC)

Regarding the "Chapter Civil War"

Is Veronica referring to the Capital Wasteland Brotherhood or the Chicago Brotherhood? Rothchild mentions the Chicago Chapter with a negative, but elusive, tone.

Veronica's Stats

As of 1.2.0.31x, wasn't veronica fixed so she does level up? Or is her health really completely stagnant?

Vilified

I kiled Elder on my frst visit, used that version of BB gun and stealt boy, Veronica have not live me even i got Vilified reputatio. I dismised her so she dont combat other and wen i go to her agen i have no problem regrutin her. Ther is not even mention on hewr side that someting may be rong. Dont know if its important but you cant go worst than Vilified..

Veronica frequenting Gomorrah on her downtime

When I bring Veronica into Gomorrah I notice she stops and stares at the dancing female strippers for quite a long time and is even commented on by the strippers, and it's only female strippers. Now, I haven't seen this happen with other companions. Sure, they prompt dialogue. But I have never witnessed Raul or Boone staring at a dancing stripper while I walk away, only to run after me after I've gained more distance than usual. Well I was doing How Little We Know solo (I dismissed ED-E and Raul because I kept losing Lucky and That Gun when entering/exiting the casino) I'm running around Lower Brimstone trying to find Toike, and who do I see walking around down there? Veronica! She was supposed to be waiting for me at the 38, but I guess she sneaks across. This can't be just a bug.--Rumblepen (talk) 05:48, October 24, 2014 (UTC)

Christine <3 Veronica

Anybody think Veronica was dating Christine? They were both in the Mojave chapter having same sex relationships and Christine mentions being broken up by Elijah, but Veronica never says it was Elijah who broke them up specifically. Touchie123 (talk) 03:20, April 8, 2015 (UTC)

Veronica said that her lover left the Brotherhood on her own, while Christine stayed with them and tried to track down Elijah as a mission for the Brotherhood. But this may be a plot hole. --JohnJRenns (talk) 13:20, April 10, 2015 (UTC)

But Christine left the Brotherhood to join with The Circle of Steel. Touchie123 (talk) 02:07, April 21, 2015 (UTC)

Sorry for the late reply; the Circle of Steel is not a separate faction from the Brotherhood of Steel in New Vegas(they are separate though in Van Buren). It's a sub-faction of the Brotherhood of Steel, so if Christine is on a mission for the Circle of Steel to kill Elijah, that means she's still with the Brotherhood.--JohnJRenns (talk) 05:33, May 4, 2015 (UTC)-

Obtaining Veronica's Powerfist

Veronica's powerfist is not a speciality item, just a normal powerfist. It can be obtained by entering an area that takes your weapons away with Veronica, agreeing to give up your weapons, and exiting. Be aware that you will not be able to give the powerfist back, as it will not apear in the open inevntory screen and if you drop it she will not pick it up and you won't be able to pick it up as when you place your crosshair on the powerfist it will just say "Steal powerfist." 168.103.108.83 02:17, June 16, 2015 (UTC)

I use this site all the time and I'm trying to help out so if this checks out I would love to see it on this page one day.
