I found him as I was approaching RobCo from the north-east. Unfortunately he was already dead, killed by a Yao Guai. His robot companions were still alive though and they took down the Yao Guai. Maybe I should res him so I can trade with him. GW-Infinity 09:11, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

I usually see him walking around or near the car park. You mean parking lot, right?

Tinker Joe[]

When I found this guy he just started attacking me, can someone explain why?

You might've accidentally killed one of his robots.

For some reason he equipped Raider Blastmaster Armor in my game, I guess he found a set somewhere while I was in his cell, but I gave him something less silly with a higher DR, but no go. Oh well.

same with mine, except with sadist armor and an arclight helmet. wtf?

Afillation[]

In GECK his factions are listed as tinker joe faction (his robots) and trader faction so i'd go with traders.

RefIds for Tinker Joes Mr Handy and Protectron (Not RL-3)[]

The AI won't quite reset right after you res them. Mr Handy is supposed to take the lead on their patrol and the protectron will take over if Handy is dead but after resing they will only follow him (Can be fixed with GECK changes). Not really much of a problem if you give joe some power armour or make him unkillable though.

Tag Skills[]

I'm pretty sure Tinker Joe has energy weapons as a tag skill, he is using a laser rifle when first encountered and if given Tesla armor, an Enclave officer hat (+15 total energy weapons) and a Plasma rifle his group can drop a deathclaw pretty easily whenever he hits his maximum level (whatever that may be). Actually his tag skills are Barter, Lockpick, and Science, his level is 4 and doesn't change, and his energy weapons skill is 15. But plasma rifles are a pretty decent weapon :D --Kris User Hola 12:57, September 10, 2010 (UTC)
Seriously? Him and his bots took down a deathclaw (I was lvl 30) before I could even get close enough to target it in VATS, he lost the protectron but still I was rather impressed (it's rare an npc doesnt need assistance). Mictlantecuhtli 21:14, September 10, 2010 (UTC)

Robotic Expert[]

If you have Robotic Expert perk, sneaking behind and disable Mr.Handy that leading Tinker will resulting in him stuck in one place. Anyone have tried anything further related to this incident ?

Bug verification: PC[]

I've encountered the bug currently only listed only under XBOX versions on my PC GOTY version, though with worse consequences. I was wandering around the area between TennPenny Tower and VAPL-84 (about to where the location is of a Semi Truck trailer with a human torso-giblet inside; a pair of yao guai are seen exiting the trailer) where the when I glanced over the horizon to find all 3 of them all stuck in one another (as if they'd all spawned in the same exact coordinates) Looking at them (or as with my second try, just being within the vicinity) crashes the game, and will continue doing so (so it seems). I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the direction I'm coming from, or whether or not me having Dogmeat with me conflicts with the encounter or something.
