Looks like a normal swamp hillbilly to me. <.< Exuro 19:56, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
An article I read said the enemies would be called Scrappers.GrandSabo 22:10, 3 June 2009 (UTC)GrandSabo
I think I know where the original Trogs went!
They should have Banjos. 90.187.230.49 12:17, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yes. Nitpicker of the Wastes 23:38, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
- Or at least have banjo music start playing softly when one is nearby... kinda like how you usually hear that Yao-Guai noise before you see them... 12.204.48.130 06:56, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
[1]indeed banjos would be most logical 67.142.166.20 10:44, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
I took out the line "physically deformed for unknown reasons." Come on, we all know the deformities in hillbillies are from incest. - The Unsigned One, 6 June 2008
I'm sure a producer said at E3 that they were deformed because of the irradiated swamp water they were drinking. But I think it might be because of there incest! --AllanM 93 19:09, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
- Or both/several factors combined. 90.186.178.107 19:22, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
Why don't you relax and just wait the DLC to be released:) By the way, these new mutants looks cool... I only hope that there will be at least 7 or 10 types of them... not less... Plus, they will have different cloths... if not, they all will look like army of clones... [Master Mold] 92.124.92.133 08:07, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
By the way, maybe the Hillfolk number is very limited... like each of them is unique character? (though UNlikely...) 92.124.92.133 08:07, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
I took out the "trivia" paragraph beginning with: Some of the Hillfolk bear a striking resemblance to humans infected with the Corprus disease from the game The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, another game developed by Bethesda Softworks. This just seems like yet another case of someone reaching to find references that aren't there --Funkmistress 13:10, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
Speaking of inane references to other video games... is anyone else thinking Redneck Rampage after viewing the screenshots?? It would be beyond awesome if they got some of the same voice talent for this project. I can hear it now... "git off mah land!" Oh, memories of good times... (how can you not have fond memories of a game that let you ram a lit stick of TNT up a chicken's butt and shoot it out of a crossbow??)12.204.48.130 06:56, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
About the Origins of the Swampfolk: If you read the Medical Terminal in the Administration tent in the Disaster Relief Center where Marcella is hanging out, you find out about the symptoms of the "New Plague" that was afflicting people in the US prior to the Great War, which include: - Profuse Sweating (Which may lead to the smell that Haley complains about) - Swelling or Contusions (Like the Ones that the Swampfolk have) - Unexplained External Hemorraging (Which would explain all the blood on the outside of some Swampfolk) Essentially, it could be that Swampfolk may all have some form of the "New Plague" in addition to problems with Radiation and/or Inbreeding.
I find the New Plaque reference a bit debatable. The last symptom is: "new ideals, like socialism". Seems more like a ploy to get people to register with the Feds before the War. BTW, are we going to split these guys (each swampfolk) into different pages? (10:03am June25) (RT7) i think these guys are fun to fight thay reminde me that im a cajun and that i could be related to these guys allso funny thing i saw a scraper danceing infront of a camp fire i blew his leg opff from long range with my sniper rifle --Xxuberdood 19:23, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
Other Media
These guys remind me of the people from the "The hills have Eyes" movie. Any possible relation, reference? I know they're strongly based on the original Trog idea but still.. Hessen 22:59, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, the devs actually mentioned it in one of the interviews. Ausir 23:02, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
