## missing Songs Edit

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas\Data\Sound\songs\radionv contains 48 songs. I wonder why they aren't played. --DragonJTSLeave me a message 06:40, October 27, 2010 (UTC)

From a little forum searching, there're apparently scripting errors, which is why there's only like 5 songs that play. No word on a fix though...i'd imagine they'll release it with a 5 quid price tag and call it DLC. -EllEzDee 12:41, October 27, 2010 (UTC)
Or someone will jsut release a radio fix mod, or it will be addressed in an unofficial patch. --DragonJTSLeave me a message 13:58, October 27, 2010 (UTC)
Created a fix for this on the PC which adds the four songs by J.E Sawyer and also fixes Big Iron from playing twice and replaced it with missing Midnight on the Range. --Machienzo 10:43, November 16, 2010 (UTC)
The J.E. Sawyer songs were not intended to be played on Radio New Vegas. They were written specifically for the Aces casino performances. The mistake was listing them under "Radio New Vegas" in the credits, not leaving them out of the playlist. Dmunsil 18:45, November 16, 2010 (UTC)
I am very interested in your proof behind that Dmunsil. If they were credited under Radio New Vegas, then we can only assume they were meant for that very radio station. As a matter of fact, there were at least 5, count them 5 missing entries for songs within the Radio station. I checked through the PC version's GECK. Now surely if you have something to refute this, do please enlighten me. --Machienzo 12:32, November 17, 2010 (UTC)

## Oh, good, I am not crazy Edit

Upon seeing in the credits that J. E. Sawyer had done some songs for the game, I thought "I am pretty sure I would have recognized a song referencing Fallout in all those hours I spent listening."

This seems like a pretty major oversight that would be hard to miss in testing. Everyone must have gotten bored with the radio before it went gold? Quarex 20:52, November 3, 2010 (UTC)

## AI Disc Jockey? Edit

How do we know the DJ is an AI? Is this behind-the-scenes information or is it given in-game somewhere?

## Sound problems Edit

I know it sounds weird (and stupid), but I have a problem with the radio - it's just too quiet. And yes, before you think of it, I did put the Radio Volume in Options on maximum. But I still get the feeling that it is too quiet (this is comparing to Fallout 3 radio volume). This is also the problem with the Mojave Music Radio, not just Radio New Vegas. However, interesting thing is that voice of Mr. New Vegas can be heard loud and clearly, but songs can't (I realise that songs are old, and thus can't be of best quality, but, like I said, I'm comparing to Fallout 3). Is this just me, or does anyone else have this "problem"? --Atomkilla 16:47, November 11, 2010 (UTC)

They are a bit lower volume than most MP3 tracks, though the volume of Mr. New Vegas is designed to match. I don't personally have a problem, but it's easy enough to fix it. Just download MP3Gain and run it against the MP3s in the steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas\Data\Sound\Songs\radionv folder. By default they're at about 79 db (most commercial MP3s hover around 89 db). Kick it up to 85 or so and you should be good to go. Dmunsil 17:52, November 11, 2010 (UTC)

My friend tried it (he also found this a problem, hehe), and says it works. I'll check it out. Thank you. --Atomkilla 14:57, November 12, 2010 (UTC)

## Report on NCRCFEdit

I double-crossed Eddie and helped the NCR retake the prison, but Mr. New Vegas reported that the NCR failed in their mission and that Powder Ganger activities will continue unabated.--OvaltinePatrol 07:51, November 14, 2010 (UTC)

## Transcript needed for Camp Golf Troop Readiness Story Edit

Mr. New Vegas does a news broadcast about a platoon setting a new record in combat readiness at Camp Golf. I believe it's quest specific, following the Courier's efforts in Flags of Our Foul-Ups. Someone should get the transcript entered here.

## Transcript for the news reports Edit

Can someone add in the transcript for the news reports similar to the ones added to the GNR page?

## Serial Killer? Edit

I killed Cannibal Johnson and it appeared to trigger a report on "the Denture Killer"---which also contains a bug, as Mr. New Vegas reported "several old people around New Vegas, including the Doctor..." (as in the one from Jacobstown) "...have been killed by an unidentified assailant." He then mentions "the Denture Killer". Seems to be triggered by failing "For Auld Lang Syne" but I can't confirm. Someone else confirm/deny/figure out what the trigger is for the news story? I don't want to edit the page until I know the material to be accurate. SimuLord 13:37, December 21, 2010 (UTC)

I also started getting this report after killing Cannibal Johnson. I think it may be triggered by killing certain elderly NPCs. In that playthrough I had also killed Alice McLafferty and Doc Mitchell in Goodsprings, who I assumed was the "doctor" mentioned. It seems more likely it's simply tied to killing any of the Remnants, although it's strange he would mention the doctor from Jacobstown considering another report says the settlement is still just a rumor. Skeptical Mind 19:41, January 16, 2011 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure it's triggered by failing "For Auld Lang Syne" I heard it second's after killing the Verti Bird Pilot Daisey in Novac. Spellunker 10:26, March 6, 2011 (UTC)
I agree with Spellunker about it tiggering with the failure of "For Auld Lang Syne" as I just recently got it after selling Arcade into slavery, even though I hadn't killed any old folks. I would assume the doctor he meant is the old man up in Jacobstown. Odd that it plays even if you haven't killed any of the old folks involved. --Piemanthe3rd 15:14, February 22, 2012 (UTC)

## Omertas News Story Edit

Mr. New Vegas also does a news story on the omertas after you chose to keep big sal and/or nero in power (dont remember exactly which one of the two the story is about).

## Location of Mr. New Vegas Files Edit

I'm trying to locate the files for the Mr. New Vegas news stories so I can add them into a play mix. Anyone have any idea where they might be?

## Archimedes laser reference Edit

Sometimes after i use the archimedes laser with that toy pistol mr new vegas sometimes mentions that "people saw light come out of the sky today" or something along those lines. If someone could get the exact lines this phrase should be added.

## News transcripts and news not updating Edit

Also, I've noticed that RNV suffers from the same Not Updating News Disease that GNR had suffered from in Fallout 3.... How do I solve it? Or shall I say, cure it... DannyK92 19:01, April 14, 2011 (UTC)

## Boomers flying to Hoover Dam? Edit

"A large unidentified aircraft has been seen circling the skies above the New Vegas Strip. Freesiders are hoping it will drop food, but I wouldn't get your hopes up Freesiders" I've heard this broadcast during the battle of Hoover Dam, probably the Boomers were on the way there DannyK92 22:35, April 17, 2011 (UTC)

This broadcast can be heard at any time, not just during Hoover Dam. It's most likely the Boomers trying out their swanky new B-29. --Wiseman of the Wastes 19:20, May 27, 2011 (UTC)

## Combinations Edit

So the geek in me was curious as to how many combinations there are if you get an intro, a news bit, a word from the sponsor, a song announcement and then a track, then it repeats, making one unique "chuck". So I think I finally have it after spending some time thinking about.

$((i)((n1)(n2))(s)((a1)(t1)(t2)(t3))) + ((i)((n1)(n2))(s)((a2)(t4)(t5)(t6)))$

Where i = the total number of intros possible
n = the number of possible news segments
s = the total number of sponsors
a = the announcement of a specific song
and t = the track that could possibly play.

Filling it in, we get:

$((15)((45)(44))(7)((9)(1)(19)(19))) + ((15)(45)(44))(7)((3)(19)(19)(19)))$

Now, let's break it down; "i", and "s" are pretty self-explanatory, but "n1" equals 45 because there are a possible 45 news bits followed up by another different news bit, making "n2" 44. "a1" equals 7 because Mr. New Vegas mentions 9 song titles, which make it so the following song can only be the one he mentions, making t1 =1. However, the next song (t2) has a possibility to be the same song as the previous one, as well as the third song (t3).

Then, a2 =3 because Mr. New Vegas has the possibility of saying three general song announcements, allowing the songs to be any of the tracks recorded, making t4.t5, and t6 =19.

So let's fill in the equation:

$((15)((45)(44))(7)((9)(1)(19)(19))) + ((15)(45)(44))(7)((3)(19)(19)(19))) 675,467,100 + 4,277,958,300 =4,953,425,400$

Could someone please check my method to make sure I'm correct and I didn't do anything wrong in the algorithm? Thanks, Kastera (talk) 03:44, May 9, 2011 (UTC)

## Lack of Legion and House based stories Edit

Title says it all, not all stories are there. Lets get them ALL up.

## Denture Killer? Edit

I keep hearing this blurb on Radio New Vegas but it always starts and ends before I can fully take in what is being said. Has anyone else heard this one? Great Mara 03:12, June 22, 2011 (UTC)

After some messing around on different files, I think it may be linked to killing Enclave Remnants, but I'm not sure. Great Mara 15:05, June 24, 2011 (UTC)

-- Killing any Enclave (For Auld Lang Syne) triggers this.

## Unused sound files Edit

I've extracted all Mr. New Vegas' sound files using FOMM and... Well, first of all, the file's names do not suggest a certin order, for example: mrnv111 is about Goodsprings beign attacked and mrnv112 is about REPCONN Rockets, but I've managed to find some stories which aren't used ingame like the story about Freeside getting electricity from HELIOS One and the story about retrieving the body of Ranger Morales from REPCONN HQ P.S its 2:30 AM, so if there are mistakes or un-understandable babbling its cause I'm pretty tired :-) DannyK92 23:38, July 17, 2011 (UTC)

So I guess he doesn't notice the NCR and Legion got nuked. Go figure. -The Polar Bear lives 00:50, September 27, 2011 (UTC)

## Dean's Name Edit

When Mr. New Vegas introduces Ain't That a Kick in the Head," he says, "It sure is, Dino, it sure is." It IS Dino, not 'Dean-o'. Dean was born Dino Paul Crocetti and was frequently called Dino during his lifetime. It's how it's spelled. Could we please stop changing it back to 'Dean-o'? AedanClarke (talk) 17:06, November 19, 2013 (UTC)

My bad, I thought it was random joke, like some people tend to do. ----Name?
Nah, man. Dean himself and a very large number of people at the time would frequently call him by his birth name. But now ya know. :D AedanClarke (talk) 01:33, November 25, 2013 (UTC)

## Missing new reportEdit

I was only able to catch about half of the news report. So if anyone else happens to come across the reprt ingame complete this:

...saying a key legion prisoner has escaped Camp McCarran. the prisoner is armed and dangerous and may be dressed as an NCR trooper - Complete Silus Treatment and help Silus escape
