I vote against deletion.[]
If there are indeed only 40 base weapon types, and the Pipe Pistol and Pipe Rifle are separate within that, I feel that each should have its own page. If 'Pipe' is one of the 40 weapon types then I think we should delete/merge pages as appropriate. We don't yet know for sure though which case is the reality of the weapons system. I feel it's more likely to be the latter, but until then I don't think we should take action. Just my opinion as a relatively new member, anybody can feel free to disagree. I have owned the game for only two days, and I have seen pipe rifles on raider corpses. Although they are randomly modded pipe pistols by the game, I think they should only be considered actual pipe rifles if they aren't modded by the player character. Pipe rifle and pipe pistol are the "same base weapon", though. A "Pipe gun" article could be made, specifying you have "Pipe Pistol" with the grips and "Pipe Rifle" with the stocks). And that it become "Automatic" depending on the frame. The Pipe Pistol and Pipe Rifle could then link to the "intergame" pages. Like how a "Laser Gun(Fallout 4)" page would link to the "Laser Pistol" and "Laser Rifle" page. (I suggest using the Hair Trigger/"faster fire rate" or "Automatic" modifications. I think it is far more fair to say the Pipe Pistol and Pipe Rifle are the same weapon. I'd say this page really does need to redirect to pipe pistol and the page name of Pipe Pistol needs to be changed to reflect both names. --Seraphimneeded (talk) 15:06, November 16, 2015 (UTC)
I think Fallout 4 weapons should be considered the same if they use the same receivers, because these cannot change what type of weapon it is (I can't take a pipe pistol mod and use it on a pipe revolver because they have different receivers). Therefore, the pipe pistol and pipe rifle should be one page along with all the weapons that share receivers like the laser rifle and pistol. Stretch27 (talk) 15:14, November 16, 2015 (UTC)
I think as long as a person searching for pipe rifle gets redirected to the pipe pistol page, deletion is fine.
conversions based on stocks are really confusing, I do agree that ammo type conversions might count as new and separate weapons but not stock mods.
