This Perk doesn't seem very pointful. Anyone have a good use for it? Paximilian 22:59, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

I agree with you. Not very useful at all. By the time you get this, you will easily have saved up enough alcohol to go a long time without the withdrawal effects.87.208.36.84 11:31, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

There's got to be some quests related to this. Dannyc 11:54, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

Danny, I really doubt they'd make quests with which to relate to a perk. I think they thought it'd be helpful, but it tanked. Paximilian 00:23, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Even if you didn't have enough alcohol saved up to go without withdrawals, the withdrawal effect of -1 agility and -1 charisma is not that significant. I just don't see the use of this perk. If it were lvl 2... that might change things, since intense training is sorta obsolete now. 72.235.91.236 10:44, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Well, I think that this has some use. I also forget to get treated for alcohol addiction in the game and, especially on very hard, find myself suffering because of it. It doesn't have use for some players, but that doesn't make it useless in general, only to those who don't want it.The light in darkness 14:00, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Keep in mind also that at the point in the game where you can get this perk, you'd already have pretty much all of the 'necessary' perks.. especially if you were leveling post broken steel and didn't bother with intense training, although I agree that the level requirement seems a little on the high side given the flavor of the perk 75.139.197.15 01:51, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

It's an RPG game flavor perk. VATS 17:50, July 1, 2010 (UTC)

Last note[]

The last note states that as soon as you get the perk you have stat effects as if you were on alcohol. Can anyone verify this? Because being permanently intoxicated should be listed as one of the benefits if thats the case. VATS 17:50, July 1, 2010 (UTC)

This Perk comes awfully late for a "flavor" Perk. If I wanted to play a hard-drinking gunslinger, I'd probably have decided on that when I had more than one or two quests left in the game. The other problem is that, by the time you can get this, even with having never sunk a skill point into Barter, you're probably swimming in caps, so having either My First Laboratory or just paying a doctor to ditch the addiction really isn't even a speedbump.
