is there any way i can get the face wrap armor without killing NCR soldiers? im playing on the ps3 so i cant use the console either.

Sign your posts please. I play it on the 360, so I can't use console commands either. Just take it off of dead troopers you find, like at the trashed camp. I cant' remember where I got my face wrap armor (which looks best with the goggles helmet and can cover the rebreather completely without ruining the look), but I certainly didn't kill anyone for it. Try helping out Ranger Jackson at the Mojave outpost (where I hink I saw one for sale) or retreiving Ranger Morales' corpse. I dunno. TJbrena 16:38, November 2, 2010 (UTC)
During the raid on NCRCF if you "accidentally" let an NCR Trooper die (i.e. just lag back and let them rush in) you can retrieve the armor off their corpse with no loss of reputation with the NCR since you didn't actually kill them. Alternatively you can plant C-4 in some of the powder gangers' pockets and detonate it when they're close to an NCR trooper. Kills the powder ganger and the NCR trooper is a casualty of circumstance. other than that you can use MODIO to get your save on your computer and a special save game editor to add it. shoot me a message on my talk page and I'll direct you to it if you want. --Burkenation 03:36, August 20, 2011 (UTC)

Black masks?

I have seen these black bandana masks on NCR soldiers mostly at Hover Dam, but there dosent seem to be a specific type of NCR trooper armor that has them, nor can I find them as a stand alone item. are they just part of the soldier's face, like the eye patch? If so shouldnt the picture of them in the discription of NCR Trooper Armor be removed since they are not part of the item.

Those are DamWar Face Masks. They're unplayable equipment that, as far as I'm aware, is generic to most, if not all participants in the Hoover Dam battle. I don't see much of a need for removing the image since it's a valid appearance for an NCR trooper.

yes, its valid for a trooper, but not thier armor as an individual item, im not proposing ill compile a better image, so ill shut up, just sayin though that its misleading and unessisary to include the masks

It is actually possible to equip them using the console. 13f3ae

Chinese Stealth Armor glitch?

What's this glitch that I see in the notes section?LW556DCJ 05:52, December 27, 2010 (UTC)

Metal plate?

Hate to nitpick...but the description says the NCR armor features a metal plate on the chest. Looks just like a piece of reinforced leather to me. I may be wrong...

NCR armor doesn't add disguise?

This bug seems similar to an analog one in the main page (where removing the armor doesn't remove the disguise), except the opposite. I've had it happen to me with NCR Trooper Fatigues looted off a dead trooper near Primm - when I put them on, the usual 'you are now disguised yadda yadda' message failed to appear, and upon looking in my status all my reps were unchanged.

If this is indeed a bug, it could be beneficial, as it'd let you wear some pretty good armor without fear of being shot at relatively early on. Just a heads up.--151.80.23.192 17:14, May 17, 2011 (UTC)

Chest-plate

There doesn't seem to be any concrete information on what exactly the armor plate is composed of, although common sense would seem to dictate that it would need to be (in absence of ceramic) some sort of steel in order to be of any use stopping rounds. Granted taking levels of protection into account in the form of an arbitrary number is difficult considering how poorly actual protection of clothing and body armor in real life translates to video game mechanics, as although NCR outfits are more protective than leather armor (6 vs 10), reinforced leather armor has the same damage threshold, despite logically being incapable of protecting against any firearm. Absent actual knowledge of the material, however, it's safer to simply identify the plate as an "armor plate" than to make assumptions. As for appearance, mind that protective armor plates today are contained in carriers in order to ensure that the entire plate doesn't simply break apart and fall off after a ballistic impact. The plate could just as well simply have a cloth or leather carrier, kevlar if the plate is steel and the wearer wants to minimize spalling. ---AR- (talk) 16:00, November 24, 2014 (UTC)
