No Windows?

What kind of lousy high roller suite doesn't have a view of the strip, or any windows at all for that matter? Is there any sort of mod that fixes this? 184.98.216.172 20:27, October 29, 2011 (UTC)

Workbench Locker Upgrades

Just a heads up, I'm not sure if it belongs on the main page, but for anyone seeking information, the WORKBENCH LOCKER UPGRADES are NOT SAFE STORAGE, repeat NOT safe!Cb8673 19:15, October 21, 2010 (UTC)

These are safe now - [tested 5/11/10]

I'm playing on xbox without any patches, 60 hours in and nothing of mine has disappeared. --gearlockT Jan 31,11

I had to move all my things down into the lower casino and since then nothing has gone missing. If you store items such as whiskey or nuka cola then they will go missing sooner or later.I had stored about 231 of those drinks and i start seeing them disappear once my companions camped in the 38.

I thought Victor said i could have a little club house

I could of sworn that Victor said that companions can party up in the suite as long as they dont speak to Mr. House. Yet Cass can never come chill out with me. It makes bringing in weapons a pain in the rear.--FLaSHBaCK HaSH 22:03, October 22, 2010 (UTC)

Is this because you are asking victor outside lucky 38 to take you there? If so try going inside and accessing the lift with victor stood next to it. Take her to the suite. Alternatively in the dialog say your parting ways and get her to meet you there.

Safe Storage Containers in the Suite...

My apologies if I end up messing up my post here, this is the first time I've posted on this Wiki (or any, for that matter).

I imagine this is probably a silly question, however, could someone please tell me which containers in the Presidential Suite are safe to store items/weapons/etc in? Thank you very much, to whomever answers, if anyone ends up doing so. (And my apologies if this is not the place to post this. Normally to find out which containers are safe, I look on this particular Wiki, but to my dismay it's not been listed yet, so I'm hoping that someone might know and tell me here. Thank you.)Vulpes Inculta 17:42, November 12, 2010 (UTC)

  • No, you posted on the right place. And, apparently, Workbench locker upgrades are not safe storage. Everything else should be, though.--With care and happiness, Supermutantslayer450' YOU. LOSE. 16:33, October 23, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, haha, yeah. I found out the hard way, just yesterday. Anyways, I appreciate the response! So far, out of the ones I am using, the Fridge upgrade seems to be safe, as well as the Weapon Containers (The name for them has left me, it seems, however they are the ones that resemble Enclave containers) and like you said, the Workbench upgrades are definitely NOT safe, haha.

Thanks again.Vulpes Inculta 17:42, November 12, 2010 (UTC)

      • DO NOT STORE ANYTHING IN THE LUCKY 38 SAFE HOUSE!!!

There are confirmed reports of your followers stealing your stockpiled items. Anything you store in the containers at the Lucky 38 Presidential Suite is up for grabs by anyone of the followers you have sent there over the course of your travels. Rex and ED-E appear to have never stolen anything but i can't be 100% sure.I've shown up at the safe house and seen Boone enjoying NukaCola and whatever Alcohol i had stored in the fridge also when Boone died(playing on hardcore)i searched his body and found that he had been skimming ammo off my stockpiles. I'm just afraid that they might drink a Quartz or a Victory or steal one of the Unique Weapons or Armor I've collected...Anyways i found a little shack that I've been using. Its called Harper's Shack, its found directly south of the REPCOMM Test Site. THE THREE BOXES IN FRONT OF THE SHACK ARE SAFE TO STORE ITEMS.Ive tested it many times(as i am on my 3rd play through and used all 3 times) and it has never reset the contents of the box.I hope this info is found to be useful.

Been trying to make a Nuka-Cola collection but every single Nuka-Cola Victory ive put in has went missing.Lost all of them just because of that, strangely though all they really did take was my Nuka-Cola Victories.

  • I have my nuka-cola victory and quartz on the shelf above the kitchen counter which seems to out of reach of my companions. As far as I've seen they will consume any drink and food in their reach. I usually keep the fridge full of all kinds of consumable loot and they go straight for it. If you want to decorate your kitchen with food and not have them steal it all just set up stolen food and drink, they won't touch the stuff. I haven't noticed them stealing any other items.[gearlockT]

It is very true, I have all of the followers at lucky 38, watched them take my nuka-cola victories, and quantums. I lost a ton of items out of the "workbench 1 & workbench 2" also, im not sure if they were taken by companions or not. (618 Bdown)

Lighting?

My president suite is really, really dim... like, cave status dim. Is it supposed to be like this? Is there any way to turn up the lights?

Yep, im still looking for a lights on button.. --109.110.26.67 20:15, October 25, 2010 (UTC)

My room is all blue, and it just gets brighter and brighter the longer I'm in it. Wonderful.

@above maybe you shouldnt eat so many glowing mushrooms. And to the topic, apparently there IS a lights on button, in a way..

^^ care to elaborate?

  • To the person who said they've had their screen go blue, I know exactly what you're talking about (and no, it's not the type of blue you seem to get from Cats Eye, it looks like some kind of glitch, because the room eventually gets so bright you can't see anything and just stays this way). I saved my gave during this, as the first time it happened, I was going to restart my game and see if it still happened to be blue (by the way, it stayed blue after the restart). Anyways, it only -finally- stopped being blue after I left the Lucky 38, then everything returned to normal. Strange. Anyone care to offer any opinions/ideas on this? Thanks in advance.Vulpes Inculta 17:43, November 12, 2010 (UTC)

You get some lights when you progress the main quest. SPOILER (sorta) Mr House tells you to sneak into a power station and use it to power up the lucky 38 which apparently is working on emergency power, hence the lack of light. --109.110.9.94 09:04, October 30, 2010 (UTC)

Is it the helios one mission? What if we killed mr house and activated the orbital laser... -Yes what mission do you get that makes the lights get brighter? Does it involve the El Dorado substation? On Fallout wikianswers it says that there is no way to adjust your suite lights other then using the adjust brightness under the pause menu under settings. --98.100.201.110 01:57, October 7, 2011 (UTC)

I couldn't stop laughing when I read the first one. Your companions are drinking your nuka colas and it stacks when multiple members drink them until the screen turns white.

The "blue" is very likely caused by companions drinking your stash of Nuka Quartz and causing a cat eye effect on the player. I tried to hide mine in a desk (which I also locked via the console), only to find out that Veronica had somehow got in, and was sinking my Quartz like water. The effect magnified onto me until I could barely see anything. Then it wore off seemingly on its own. I checked her inventory - 1 Quartz left. I originally had 9 :( The room should come with a lockable safe, such as the suite at Tops. ComaDivine 12:26, November 2, 2010 (UTC) O

As annoying as it is, it makes sense RP-wise for them to help themselves to the various drinks I've been stocking in the Sarsaparilla vending machine. It's still weird how an NPC can drink a Quartz and pass along it's effects to you.

reloading bench and campfire?

can they be added to the suite? prolly not... if not... then where are the nearest ones? I plan to make this my home base. Namad 18:59, October 24, 2010 (UTC)

As of now they cannot be added using in-game methods. The closest campfires (3 of them) are on either side of the robot-guarded entrance to the Strip, so, practically right outside the Lucky 38. As for a reloading bench, I would suggest the closeby one at the Gun Runners (Fallout: New Vegas). If you're one of us lucky devils playing on the PC, there are already some mods on the new vegas nexus that add these functions to the suite. Zhukov 04:40, November 1, 2010 (UTC)

Companions

I had Boone and every other companion but Cass in there when I told them to wait at the Lucky 38. I'm pretty sure once i recruited Cass i no longer had the option to send them to the Lucky 38 but only back to where I found them? It's easier to have them all there, is this a bug? Help appreciated

I have never been able to tell companions to wait at the Lucky 38. First companion I got was ED-E, followed by Rex. Telling ED-E to leave didn't give me the option, and nobody since has either. There is apparently some sort of bug here. It would be nice to collect more details. Chotch 23:04, October 30, 2010 (UTC)

Cass is the first companion I've had and I can't get any more because I can't get her to wait in the Suite. If it just tell her to wait, she stands in place but other possible companions won't join me. What dialogue option am I supposed to be able to use to get her to wait there. I don't see anything like "Go wait at the Lucky 38". --Pongsifu 01:59, November 4, 2010 (UTC)

  • You guys have to tell them to "part ways" and then there should be an option saying "go wait at the lucky 38"--Adam Sizzler 10:13, December 17, 2010 (UTC)

Ive had the same problem with not being able to send them to the lucky 38, even though all may companions Used to be albe to go there, they cant. Im thinking that this is because i got the room at the atomic wrangler (for completing the quests there) and since then i could not send them back. Is there a way to fix this?

Getting suite without angering other factions

I was just wondering if you are able to get this suite without angering the NCR. I heard that in the part of the long quest to get the suite you have to do a part of it that makes you unable to do NCR or Caesers Legion tasks. Does anyone know how to get this suite without angering the NCR or halting the ability to do things for them?

You get the suite long before the point where you have to pick a side. But I have been wondering if it is possible to lose the suite by siding with NCR or the Legion. The14th 06:10, October 27, 2010 (UTC)

No, You don't loose the suite as far as I know. Another Question, What quests do you have to do to get the suite? Do you just have to finish the starter quests or do the first few with the factions? Yea, how Do you get this suite i just want it instead of doing Houses quests i just wanna do NCR missions. De Accipitre Deserta 09:56, October 28, 2010 (UTC)

Re: acquiring. The suite is given to you after the first time you speak with Mr. House. So, potentially right after you arrive on the Strip. I had no problems accessing the suite during a full NCR playthrough (though I was pretty paranoid about it). Suffice it to say that certain events of the NCR and Legion questlines ensure that you retain unrestricted access to the suite... Zhukov 12:01, October 28, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, found out the very first time you enter the strip you get it.

I made the mistake of getting the platinum chip before I met House. Now he just asks me to hand over the chip or becomes hostile if I don't. I know i'm not going to side with house. if i give him the chip will he give me the suite? and if i do will i lose the option of siding with yes man?

Radios

What station are the radios tuned to? All I get on them is static, which can drive one insane if listened to long enough. Perhaps Mr. House is trying to brainwash me? No, seriously, do I have to find a station like Agatha's Station or fix something like GNR? --Blagass 06:20, November 1, 2010 (UTC)

I was hoping someone had answered this, I too am confused as to why I only pick up static.65.27.167.139 02:29, November 6, 2010 (UTC)

Ah i just posted this question on the player housing talk page as well... I don't think it can be changed by any normal way. But perhaps there are mods or console commands to fix this? I really want to get it changed because the background music of the Lucky 38 isn't exactly making me feel at home... Anyone know of any mods/console commands to change a radio station? --BlitzKrieg-BoB 15:14, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

Guess I'm late but I think those are useless. -James Jr 13:38, May 14, 2011 (UTC)

lots of surface space to display your items

I found that the shelf, table, pool table, and counter surface are great for displaying your items, me personaly I tend to display many guns, chems, and misc items. though the food keeps getting snatched by my followers.Superinsomniac 04:12, November 2, 2010 (UTC)

Who's been sleeping in my bed?

I've finally got the Gang together, got my Presidential Suite (with upgrades)...and now I find that if somebody is already occupying MY BED (MINE, right?) - in this case: Veronica...I can't use it unless I kick 'em out...(!) So much for having a quiet cuddle...ComaDivine 10:05, November 2, 2010 (UTC)

Didn't have that problem when rose was in my bed, maby you were setting your cursor on the pillow and not the bed, and besides, there are 3 beds in the hotel. what was funny was I could swear I've seen veronica and rose in the same bed at one time.Superinsomniac 00:43, November 5, 2010 (UTC)

I have that problem with PS3. Arcade Gannon sleeping in my bed and I can't sleep in it . . . CaTigeReptile 16:21, November 5, 2010 (UTC)

only one person can occupy the bed in your room, however in the guest room, 2 companions can occupy the same bed. So i snuggled with veronica there. ftw.--Adam Sizzler 10:15, December 17, 2010 (UTC)

locking your stuff away

I havent tested it myself but it should be working. If your playing the PC version and your pissed off because your buddies keep stealing your stuff, open the console and click on a locker (or whatever) and type lock 1000. It will say key needed. If you want to open your locker again click on it in the console and type unlock. I will test this later to see if it worked =]

Trust me. It dosen't. :( ComaDivine 04:41, November 3, 2010 (UTC)
not even if you lock the WHOLE ROOM (the door leading to the part with the lockers via console???
whats with the setownership command??? on the lockers? or the whole room?

safe storage from companions

I think I may have found a safe place to store your food from companions (in theory any way) in the presidential suite, according to what I have heard, the upgrade computer is a vendor which does NOT cycle its invatory, and hence makes safe storage, as companions do not purchace items (as I have said this is a theoratical and untested idea) the only problem (if the theory works) you have to purchase your items back, (due to this I would only recomend usage on food items,

Another theory is that since no one goes into the coctail lounge that the storage (if there is any and if it is safe) might be a decant place to store food away from your mooching companions.

If anything, there is always the motel room in novac which has safe containers.Superinsomniac 00:38, November 5, 2010 (UTC)

I've stashed my ready cash (NCR, Legion and Pre-War money) as well as various forms of Nuka Cola in the floor safe in the Cocktail Lounge, without any problems. Waited 73+ hours, and it never reset so it seems reliable enough. As with everything else, save first...just in case. ;) ComaDivine 06:59, November 14, 2010 (UTC)

I put all of my alcoholic beverages in the Bar and all the absinthe in the v.i.p lounge oh and rare beverages like nuka cola um the green thing and the red glowy thingy. and all my trophys like some centurion helmets caesers armor vulpes helmet you know there not called that but i remeber were i get them

The Terminal is very usefull

This has to be the best feature of this suite. You can sell items you don't need for caps, every few days or so the caps replenish so there is a never ending supply as long as you have items to sell. Plus if you sell something you later realize you need (like weapons or apparel for repairs) you can buy them back at a slight loss. --65.27.167.139 07:15, November 9, 2010 (UTC)

Veronica ?

I ordered Veronica to go to the Lucky 38 where Boone and Lily are, but she isn't there yet. She traveled from Lake Las Vegas. Is it possible she's dead, or would it have told me?

  • Just wait a while, i got lily to leave from black mountain and i slept for 3 days and then she was there, im pretty sure you would get a notice if she died.--Adam Sizzler 10:13, December 17, 2010 (UTC)

It's an Arena for my Companions

Yeah, so this isn't a problem with any particular companion. It happens with all of them. I'll walk into the suite, and two of them will fight. Even if I leave the suite, one of them will die (unless I quickly hire one of them, of course).

I've seen ED-E vs Gannon; ED-E vs Boone; Cass vs. Lily, Lily vs. Boone, Cass vs. Rex, Gannon vs. Cass. (I can't find ED-E since I've gotten Lily and I got Cass after Lily, so I have a feeling that's the only reason why I haven't seen ED-E fight those two.)

I assume this happens with everyone . . .? It's actually kind of funny, except that they're my companions. Like, if Arcade isn't the one being shot, the fight triggers his "lol violence" reaction. Also, it's only one-on-one; I've never seen two against one.

Glitch or difficulty?

CaTigeReptile 20:52, November 9, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, heh heh. I arrived home one night from a hard day's work - schlepping around the wastes...only to find Rose and Veronica running about in a panic. Boone (who had somehow glitched into the middle of the long table) and Lily were having a little rifle-inspired "discussion", and poor lily lost. ComaDivine 23:53, November 9, 2010 (UTC)

I believe I know what causes this. It appears they're fighting over food placed in their inventories. If you put food on, say, Rex, and Boone decides that he's hungry, he'll go after Rex for the food he's carrying (provided there's no food available elsewhere in the suite). --174.0.106.101 04:04, November 17, 2010 (UTC)

I came back to the Presidential Suite, without a companion, and found everyone was attacking Lily. The only one NOT attacking Lily was ED-E. For some reason, Lily wasn't fighting back. I quickly hired ED-E and Lily and tried to retreat using the elevator back down to the Casino floor. Sure enough, everyone followed and appeared, attacking Lily. At least at this point she was in my party and she couldn't die; she just became unconscious. Once that happened, everyone decided their job was done and they hopped back in the elevator, presumably back to the Presidential Suite. Sweet.

Why?

What possible reason could they have had programming the companions to eat and drink? It serves them no purpose what-so-ever…

While I spent about two hours busying myself placing items on the many shelves and tables around the suite, Cass drank me clean out of Nuka-Cola Quartz and Victory. Both the ones I had set out and those in the vending machine! Did she touch the regular Nuka-Colas or the Sarsaparilla’s? Nope, not a single one, bitch has expensive tastes.

I kept wondering why the lighting kept turning blue, I thought it was a glitch with the suite having never spent any real amount of time in there before that I just shrugged it off until I saw her actually swipe a quartz off the shelf (the last one) and drink it, which turned the lighting blue again.

== Think i might have a theory why The companions are theives and brawlers == Maybe its because wild wasteland is turned on, You know when you start the game and you choose two from a list of perks or none at all. If this is true then im gonna go shoot the doc. in the face for not telling me. I miss my special nuka's lol

As for me i never had wild wasteland and they steal my stuff all the time the true only solutions is to tell them to go back to their "home" and not the 38, just got to remember where they go

Success!

locking the doors inside the suite works. (at least on the pc...) - Open the console - Click on the door - type: lock 100 Your companions wont be able to enter the room and just stand around and go to the other parts of your suite :)

to unlock the room - open the console - click on the door - type: unlock OR just type tcl (noclip) in the console and walk through the door. when you've done open the console again and type tcl again and everything is fine.

Music?

What's the name of music played in Presidential suite and Penthouse?

What music? I only get static... or do you mean the creepy background music? --BlitzKrieg-BoB 15:20, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

Are Displayed Items Safe?

Just read through this page to deside what to use the suite for companions and/or items, or not at all. I'm just wondering if displayed items like Unique weapons, Victory cola, Nuka Quantum ect are safe from being stolen by followers told to go there?

Thanks in advance

  • Stuff is stolen by companions if you left it out in the open or in the sun set sas machine, best place to store stuff is the fridge.
  • We always put a Fat Man in the Bathtub at all our "homes" that have one, including the Lucky 38. After several playthroughs, (on the X-box), none have ever disappeared or been used by a follower.DarthOrc 04:46, September 13, 2011 (UTC)DarthOrc

Loading screens.

Seems to me, the quickest way in and out of this place is North Gate New Vegas Strip, through Lucky 38 Door, through Elevator, do your business, through Elevator, through lucky 38 door, fast travel to wherever you're going. That's 6 loading screens to drop something off. Why?

fallout new Vegas life is a bitch

Faulty securitrons?

So I've been working on the Wild Card quest series, and after completing "You'll Know It When It Happens" I returned to the suite to restock on supplies and rest. After sleeping in my bed I was approached by a hostile powder ganger! I splattered him all over my beautiful furniture, and then decided to do a quick sweep of the suite to find out why nobody actually engaged him while he was attacking me... I also found two random "Great Khan" NPCs in my suite! How did they get in? -Boreae 17:57, November 28, 2010 (UTC)

Victor Locked me Out

This has happend to me multiple times now. (I play on Xbox btw). I will play through the game not doing anything that should cause problems in the game, and I will return to Lucky 38 to go up to my room but Victor wont respond when i Click on him, thus i cant use the elevator. Has this happened to anyone else? Anyone know any fixes. Loading previous saves only works if its a save from a long time ago. in which the Glitch will happen again later. --Massacring Wolf 05:12, December 22, 2010 (UTC)

try going directly to the elevator. after some time during the main quest, victor wont offer the options for you to go to the various floors and instead you have to do it yourself by activating the elevator.--Adam Sizzler 09:37, December 22, 2010 (UTC)

This happened to me last night. If you have a companion, talk to Victor - no response - talk to your companion - choose 'goodbye' - the lift options will then open. Boone and Ed-e were waiting outside, so I went and got them - did the steps above and all was good. This was on the 360. Should this go on the main page under bugs?. Dan

^^ life saver, i too can confirm just speaking to a companion can get round this!

^^ works for the PC to thank you

SPOILERS

There's a fairly big spoiler under the BUGS/Companions section. I stuck a capitalized, bold SPOILER at the beginning of the sentence. Which there was a better way to hide it. Is it THAT useful? Can we maybe delete it entirely?

Actually I prefer Novac

You people can call me crazy, but I actually prefer Novac and it's not because your companions drink and eat your food or because the bed heals you. Novac is better localized for a good portion of the quests, there's a workbench and reloadbench nexto to your room, there is always merchants passing by the town and you don't have the inconvenience of being attacked when going or fast-travelling to the Strip gate. I play on hardcore and sure one of the advantages of the Presidencial Suite is having clean water, but Helios One have too - wich I find very odd, BTW - so you only need to go there (if you aren't in good terms with the NCR or sided with the Legion, no problem, just activate Archimedes I). Also, around Novac there's a lot of Prickly Pear Fruit bushes and the Strip is too pedant and boring. The only thing lacking in the game is Mr. House screen turning red when he asks what I think of New Vegas and I reply that I prefer the Wasteland. :D Brfritos 14:36, January 11, 2011 (UTC)

Right there with ya bud. I think the Lucky 38 safehouse was good in theory and could have been made great with only one small improvement. FAST TRAVEL DIRECTLY TO AND FROM THE SUITE!! Seriously, was this concept just beyond the development team? Okay, so to get to the Lucky 38 suite I can fast travel to Vegas's North gate, loading screen, then into the Lucky 38, loading screen, then up the elevator, loading screen!! SO annoying. You spend more time looking at the loading screen than getting into the damn suite! So yeah, for me Novac is definitely the superior choice. Can I get a hell yeah!?

Hell yeah!! 6:24, September 19, 2012 (UTC)

Storage Problems With Companions

After reading some other topics on this page, I have seen that many people are complaining about their companions waiting at the presidential taking their stored items (such as food, beverages, and even armor and weapons). While I have not seen if this happens on my game yet, but just in case it does happen, can anyone please tell me some ways to stop this? -- Unsigned

-- As of 2/13/11 I have had zero problems with this happening. I am playing on a PS3 with all current patches (I believe 1.02 was the latest) and have tried to have items used/stolen with not a single item used/stolen yet. I started by stripping Ed-E and Boone to nothing (but his beret) and depositing a single Sunset Sarsaparilla in every container in the suite (desks, lockers, wardrobes, etc). I proceeded to dismiss both companions and using the “Wait” (select on PS3) feature I waited 96 hours, checked the containers and nothing was missing. I left the suite and went to the casino floor, deposited all of my belongings into the fridge in the bar and ran the “wait” cycle again for another 96 hours, again nothing missing. I left my belongings in the fridge as well as the Sunset Sarsaparilla bottles in the suite and went out onto the strip (yes in my skivvies) and ran another 96 hours in the “wait” feature, inside the fridge I found all of my belongings (by weight nothing was missing, sorry not quite patient enough to write my inventory down) and proceeded to the suite where all of the Sunset Sarsaparilla bottles were also as I left them. I deposited all of my belongings into the weapons locker at the foot of my bed and ran another 96 hours in the suite, then another 96 hours out on the strip, I returned to the suite to find everything (again by weight) in the locker near my bed and every single bottle of Sunset Sarsaparilla still right where I left them.

  • Disclaimer, I have not yet recruited any other companions as yet. I will work on that as I need them for quests and try to remember to report back as soon as possible.

Unable to send companions to Lucky 38 Suite, AGAIN.

After getting a new xbox that could read discs, just so I could play Fallout New Vegas again with the huge patch, I also purchased Dead Money. Loading up my once "dlc glitch" save, I fired Raul, because I wanted to have Boone again, but the option to send Raul to the suite was never offered and he just went to his stupid shack, and it happens with every companion I rehire and fire. Had to upload Yes Man originally so I could send companions, and, not being able to do so, have no idea how to get around this, does anyone else?(posted on both presidential suite and Dead money talk pages, as I'm unsure what the problem might be) 71.72.172.73 22:40, January 25, 2011 (UTC)

Missing Followers

I have sent Rex and Veronica to the Lucky 38, but neither of them are there. Rex was for about one day, then he disappeared. I haven't been told either of them is dead/unconcious. Any idea's what's happened?

As said on the Rex page, he sometimes goes to freeside regardless of telling him to go to the lucky 38. When you spot near the King he will run to the lucky 38. (almost as if he is annoying you on purpose...) As for Veronica, I am not sure where she might be... Perhaps she just went to the place where you recruit her as well? --BlitzKrieg-BoB 15:30, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

I found Rex in Freeside, thanks :) No I checked there she is gone. Oh well.

BUGS, BUGS, BUGS

I sent Rex and Arcade to the 38, and they never arrived. I went around looking for them near the strip to find Arcade back at the Followers of the Apocalypse church. He acted like he never even met me! I still cant find Rex (probably at the king house). Also random people spawn in the Presidential Sweet when I sleep there. So far its been a Great Kahn and a Protectron. This is a good idea to store and keep track of companions I WISH IT WOULD ACTUALLY WORK!!!

Scared The Living Crap Out Of Me

I just walked home from a long adventure to sleep and store some stuff when all suddenly the tumbleweed selling nightkin from Brooks Tumbleweed Ranch uncloaked in front of me setting of an enourmos sound and scream'd WANNA BUY MY WIND BRANHAIMNZZZZ!?!?, i pissed my pants as i shat bricks in them :O. i had no choice to kill him because i didn't want to spend all my caps on tumbleweeds. As i shot him with my hunting rifle he fell right on my beer bottle pyramid that i had spent maybe an hour to stack up :3. CrossFeast 22:05, April 29, 2011 (UTC)CrossFeast

To stop Companions from stealing

So by placing one food, drinking, & alcohol item in a compainion's inventory before dissmessing them to the Lucky 38 will cause them NOT to take ANYTHING???? Confirmed anyone???

Nuka-Cola Addicts

I think that one of the problems here is that the companions are addicts to Nuka Cola Victory and Quartz, in my case my Ed-E had with a Nuka and then the screen turned blue, and after that, Ed started a fight with Bonnie, then I reloaded , the screen turned blue again and Ed started a fight with Veronica, I reloaded again, and quickly I went to Ed and I took off his Nuka and the screen don´t turned blue again, nor a fight started again. I guess those addicts are stealing the Nuka from Ed and he reacts against them.--190.26.153.1 07:25, July 3, 2011 (UTC)

Well Rested Bonus

I have not been able to get the bonus after sleeping, leaving, coming back, sleeping again.

Companion Theft Problem Solutions?

According to the main article, "To prevent companions from eating and drinking your items, before dismissal give each a drink, alcohol, and food item." This sounds pretty dodgy to me--I wondered at first if maybe the game made 'edible' items infinitely reusable for a non-active companion, much like their ammo, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I did quick test of putting a bunch of different food and drink items in my current companion's inventory, firing him, and leaving him to his own devices for about twelve hours, and he went through about half of it all. (If they eat/drink at that rate while swiping from your supplies, no wonder it's such a killer bug.) If no one else has any further input I might try stripping the suite of all but a few easily monitored food items and doing further testing, but I really hope someone else already has; I'm actually in the middle of my own first playthrough and am spending far too much time going "I wonder if that will fix it" and not actually playing the game. --Aristatide 03:46, September 13, 2011 (UTC)

  • Right. After a couple days of testing, I can say this definitely does not work for the Xbox 360, so I'm going to yank it. If any PS3 or PC players find it works for them we can always edit it back in. Now, so far the Cocktail Lounge, which is only one load-screen away, seems to have safe storage and obviously is not accessible by companions to worry about in the first place. Worth mentioning as a work-around? --Aristatide 07:38, September 20, 2011 (UTC)

New prices after Lonesome Road

I just installed Lonesome Road, and when I use the upgrade terminal, you no longer can buy and sell. The terminal allows you to buy the upgrades for "150 caps each, unless otherwise noted". I'm looking for confirmation before the article is edited.

Losing Food n Nukacola??

I always take my companions to the place I want them to be. i.e. Novac or lucky 38 and give them the WAIT command. NEVER had them take anything in fact while in the wastes i still have REX's perk while he sits in the novac bath room. Ive never done this dismissal thing or what not all you are having probs with. Creepy Atmosphere

This places gives me the creeps. I feel safe and all, but I always get an eerie feeling that I'm not alone (excluding my companions). --The Nuclear King 17:06, June 16, 2012 (UTC)

Can't find ED-E, REX or Gannon after leaving the divide, NOWHERE in the 38!!

I REALLY need help! I picked up the DLC Lonesome Road and dismissed my companions to the Lucky 38, but now I cannot find them! Rex, ED-E, and Gannon are all supposed to be there, but I checked inside and they are all nowhere to be found, I also checked their original locations and found nothing, is this because I left ED-E the 2nd in the Lonesome road or if I complete the mission will they all come back? I need my doggie! I have searched the old mormon, the Primm store and the school, all are a no show!!! wah!

Rex might be in the School of Impersonation (bug). As for others, you might have picked them before entering the DLC, so you might use the terminal near the elevator of Lucky 38 (if you have the lastest patch, that is). Energy X 19:48, October 16, 2012 (UTC)
