Vault 87[]
The two ways into Vault 87 are either by going through the perilous Murder Pass, or recruiting Joseph to fix the computer so you can hack your way in (Sci 50). I haven't tried the Paradise Falls option. On a game where I killed all the slavers and freed the kids before going into Lamplight (using that for gaining entry), I couldn't find Joseph and just took the Murder Pass route.
Now I'm trying for a speedrun though, so might update this article later with places he hangs out. He was down by the water in the Great Cavern the last time. I got tired of looking for him so I just looked him up via the console (saving first, then reloading when I knew where he was - cheating yes).
Anyways, if you talk to the Mayor first and get the dialog option where you can ask him if Murder Pass is the only way in, then he'll tell you about the computer and that not even Joseph is able to fix it (or something like that), you need to do this before talking to Joseph. Then you can take the easy way in even if you haven't been to Paradise Falls.

Opening both routes[]
If you enter Vault 87 via Murder Pass, Joseph will no longer have the dialogue option to turn on the computer. If you have completed Rescue from Paradise and you want both routes open, first have MacCready open the gate to Murder Pass, then go find Joseph and talk to him about the computer. Once Joseph has turned on the computer and you unlock the door, you can use either entrance.--Ripvanwinkle111 01:20, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

The year 2779?[]
Okay, so right now I'm in the year 2779 (waiting for caps and ammo glitch, and other things). Anyway, I was wandering: Shouldn't Joseph go to Big Town? I know the game makes Joseph stay at Little Lamplight, but still...
Haha, I'm in the year 2283 and they're all still around :P
Possable cut quest?[]
Anyone else get the feeling a fetch quest may have been cut when listening to his dialogue? Like how he says that he could hope for more materials and such
