I'm confused, are the talking Death claws dead, or not? --Cerebral plague 18:57, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

It is unknown. TearsOfBlood 20:29, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

I think John Deiley gets the final word on this.[]

I'm not actually sure how Avellone speaks so candidly about the fate of the Deathclaws. Their creator, originator, and writer was John Deiley. And in the article we can see that John believes that the talking Deathclaws could (and likely did) continue on. I'm actually not sure how Avellone came to say this, unless he was unaware of John's comment, since it would be rather like telling the author of a famous book that they don't need to write the next entry because someone who isn't exactly an authority on that storyline says the characters are all dead already. It seems kind of audacious and egotistical to me, to rather extreme degrees.

I think this should be noted, anyway, as part of the article. Since they are the creations of John Deiley, not Chris Avellone. Therefore, I can only imagine Chris's comment to have been a joke. Otherwise he would've been a humongous prat for not clearing that with John, first. :p So I really do think that was just a joke, rather than a definitive statement as to the fate of the talking Deathclaws, and probably shouldn't be taken in any other way. I was about to make a comment about this a few weeks ago, but I wasn't sure about the level of importance of the two people. I undersand that John was the one who actually designed the Talking Deathclaws and their story, but I also know that Chris is the writer of the Fallout Bible. I don't know if Chris has the power to overrule the statements. Personally, I think John has more say on what happens here, but like I said I'm not very knowledgeable about them. "The Fallout Bible by Chris Avellone is not canon, but serves as a useful commentary on the first two games. Some setting elements introduced in the Bible have been further developed in Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. Some erroneous elements of the Bible were later corrected either in following issues of the Bible, in the games or by the developers themselves. In 2011 Chris Avellone recommended against using the Bible to determine canonicity. Any content using the Bible without seperate verification from a canon source should include a non canon warning."

Deiley created the talking deathclaws, but Avellone was in charge of the Fallout franchise canon back then, which is why he wrote the Fallout Bible. And Chris is still involved with the franchise (with New Vegas and its DLC) while John is not. Ausir(talk) 04:33, December 14, 2010 (UTC)
That's unfortunate, but true. I guess Deiley doesn't have much authority in this decision. Still, Avellone was kind of a jerk with they way he put down that information. I know I probably can't change what's been said about the fate of the Vault 13 Deathclaws. IsaacKronenFaust 10:54, December 27, 2010 (UTC)

They should bring back intelligent animals in the next fallout, Maybe a highly intelligent Deathclaw to act as a companion in the base game. seriously, they didn't have to remove them in the first place.--24.204.63.102 22:46, January 8, 2013 (UTC)
