Hmmmm it seems that if you don't have Dogmeat with you, you can't finish this quest. With Piper, i can't find any cigar.
- I think you may have somehow bugged your quest or something, because dogmeat should just automatically appear as soon as you exit kellogs house. He doesn't need to be your current companion, and he doesn't replace your current companion, he just shows up and helps with the quest then when you reach the destination he leaves. False Info[]
The bit that says "The door lock must be picked by player or find the key for it. Even companion that can unlock master lock such as Cait, can't lockpick this door." is false. Cait can in fact pick the lock, she just did it for me. I had to ask her multiple times because she kept failing and giving up (as usual with tough locks) but she did eventually get it. Removed "Bugs"[]
There were two things listed here under bugs (That there is no button under the desk if you haven't reached the correct point in the story, that Nick is surprised that the door is unlocked if the player picks it) that clearly were not bugs, so I removed them. Though unrealistic, the game is clearly meant to function this way in each instance. Ethervagabond (talk) 04:51, November 4, 2017 (UTC)
Bug Verification[]
I'm playing on PC. There is currently only one bug listed, and it says "verification overdue". The bug states that if you exit the detective agency through the upstairs door, Nick will only say something like "Kellogg's house is this way" and he won't move. I just encountered this issue. I did NOT have to go back into the agency and exit through the appropriate door though. I was going to try that, but when I walked toward the lower door, I looked back and noticed that Nick was now moving. So in my case, the bug occurred, but I only needed to walk toward the 1st floor door and then turn and walk back toward him in order to get him moving and continue the quest. I do not have any unofficial patches or fixes installed. --Ign0tus (talk) 00:13, January 2, 2018 (UTC)
