I'm not sure if my XBox was being weird or if it's a bug, but the flare gun claims to have 10 rounds loaded in as opposed to 1 (like, say, Thump Thump), despite reloading after every shot. That number never seems to go down. Tyrasis 04:44, September 22, 2011 (UTC)

It uses 10 flamer fuel with each shot. Nitty Tok. 05:20, September 22, 2011 (UTC)

Happens on PC, so is a bug.

Its not a bug it uses 10 rounds of flamer fuel a shot! next your going to claim the Gauss Rifle is bugged.--LordVukodlak 18:50, September 23, 2011 (UTC)

Abominations Edit

Definitely not a bug from how it sounds, uses 10 flamer fuel in one shot. Though that is a bit ridiculous, there are several weapons that use more than one charge per shot - Plasma defender uses two SEC for example.

Anyway, when it says that the flare gun scares off Abominations...does that mean ANYTHING that fits into the abominable challenge? Though it's impossible, I'd LOVE to see Ghost People run scared.

  • If you're in a bad mood, take it to the quarry some time and torment the deathclaws. It's hilarious. I think it has a bit wider radius of action than the explanation says, because at one point I had virtually every deathclaw in the quarry cowering behind the same steam shovel. Then, of course, I started lobbing 40mm grenades back there..... Same with the annoying nightstalkers in Old World Blues. I got up onto a high point, kept on hitting and near-missing them, and had them running in circles until they burned to death. Good sick fun... Wunengzi 21:11, September 23, 2011 (UTC)

What would happen if you fired this thing at House the flesh one after all he is an abomination. Fryingpan57 23:51, October 8, 2011 (UTC)

Da page Edit

This page has pretty much the same problem as the Flash bang weapon - needs to be filled out. How much AP does it use, its spread, its critical damage, its critical chance, all that stuff. I'd do it myself if I knew how to, or if I had access to the game. Fall Break, come sooooooon!--FAR-02C 19:53, September 25, 2011 (UTC)

I guess it makes sense that the Flare gun won't scare Fire Geckos, they breath fire LOL--Bren Tenkage 22:01, September 26, 2011 (UTC)

Bonus Damage Edit

Is the fire damage that the abominations take from this weapon affected by the perks that affect fire based weapons? Gary 42 01:42, October 2, 2011 (UTC)

Yes, but since the DAM is so low it doesn't affect it much. Cc99910 19:56, October 13, 2011 (UTC)

Just sayin' Edit

Burninate

Pretty sure that the whole 'X ALL the Y' thing had something to do with it. Courage Wolf was in Honest Hearts. Nitty Tok. 19:20, October 15, 2011 (UTC)

Flaregun weapon design Edit

Viewing the model right now in the GECK, right above the trigger it says:

S.A.M.T Torino - 1941 Mod.00

Upon googling this, it came up with this: http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/7494384

Right away I can tell that the model is based off this flare gun, but I'm not going to put it in, just showing this neat little thing most people don't see ;) --ffs (talk) 05:56, September 8, 2012 (UTC)

The Ultimate Deathclaw Disposal Weapon? Edit

This weapon saved my behind so many times, especially in the divide, with all it's Deathclaws... I might carry it around with me all the time now.

Reload Animation Edit

I would argue that the fact that the reload animation is shared with another gun is not really notable. Numerous assets are shared between FNV and FO3. Additionally, numerous reload animations within FNV are shared with multiple weapons. However in the hopes of not furthering an edit war I feel that it should all be discussed here. Richie9999 (talk) 17:55, June 30, 2013 (UTC)

If I may chip in after our discussion in chat over this. I mostly thought that listing the animations wouldn't really improve the quality of our pages... obviously I can't speak for every person that comes here but would listing this really prove to be a help for people? Because that's what we write our pages for, is it not? Yes of course we are also an encyclopaedia but I struggle to see how listing what animation a weapon uses will prove to be beneficial for our readers and our role as a good database. I'd move for it to be removed but in a manner that can be agreed upon by all involved instead of throwing reverts at each other and arguing. --Sign243Talk 18:17, June 30, 2013 (UTC)
It's a piece of information so trivial that it really is of no substantial benefit to anyone. The marksman carbine, assault carbine and service rifle all share the same animation with Fallout 3's Chinese assault rifle, but who cares? What's gained from knowing that? All that really matters is the reload speed of the weapon; I've never heard of someone choosing one gun over the other on the sole fact that "this reload animation looks cool." --Kastera (talk) 18:22, June 30, 2013 (UTC)
I wholeheartedly agree. It doesn't fit. But again, you gotta discuss these things to avoid edit warring. Richie9999 (talk) 18:28, June 30, 2013 (UTC)
If we put a note on every page that tells which weapon has similar animations to others, we'd spam the entire wiki with notes. The Notes section is for things that are "Notable". The devs reusing animations is not notable at all, it is quite common. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 18:51, June 30, 2013 (UTC)
After watching clips on YT I still don't think it's the same exact animation, but more valid points were raised about re-used elements here as well. Great Mara (talk) 18:58, June 30, 2013 (UTC)
