[edit] New "anon" main page
Goddammit, man, it nearly gave me a heart attack D: MikaelGrizzly 09:52, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, that skin is the wikia default for non-logged in users. Ausir 10:00, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
- pant* Are they trying to kill people or something? MikaelGrizzly 10:12, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
- It's supposedly more n00b-friendly. Ausir 10:15, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
- It's as noob friendly as Roshambo. MikaelGrizzly 10:18, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Main page redesign
I've been working on a main page redesign on User:Kirkburn/Dev - I'd love to get some feedback on it. You can find out more about why it's there on User talk:Kirkburn/Dev. Thanks! Kirkburn (talk) 13:28, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you very much, but I prefer the current one, without the content area ads (with only a banner that doesn't break the main page layout). Ausir 00:59, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
- Hi Ausir, I'm afraid the new ads are coming. They are needed to support the free hosting we offer and will be shown on all wikis. We have tried to minimise the impact of this by removing ads on all other pages for logged in users - not a perfect solution of course, but we hope it will help. What's needed on the main page is a 300px column on the right. That will prevent the main page content being pushed down by the second ad when it shows. I've adjusted Kirkburn's draft to be as much like the current main page as possible. Hopefully that will help in the transition. -- sannse

- Is it just me, or do we have a redundant link with the menu on the side? we have the menu>fallout3 tab and also the menu>fallout games>fallout3 tab, surely we only need one of them? I vote for the menu>fallout3 one, because with the generational gap between the old games and the new one it helps partition areas of the site, and stopping pages becoming cluttered with stuff from different games, like the Age of Empires wiki --Frostedfire 02:00, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
- It is the same universe, so some mixing will occur anyway, but I agree that the games should be used as main groups for the articles. - Redmess 23:07, October 29, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Primary statistics link
Why is the primary statistics link red? --Macros 09:02, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Logo Fix
No one reads the MediaWiki talk pages, so I thought I'd add a link here. Just a small suggestion to change the background behind the logo to transparent instead of white. MediaWiki_talk:Monaco.css --Odie5533 12:25, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Timeline and Contents
I think the timeline should only be linked to from the main page and the box containing the contents be moved to the spot where the timeline was. --Odie5533 05:15, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
- What would be the point of that? That Furry Bastard 09:13, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
[edit] News
Alright, so how does one go about adding news to that box on the main page? It says somewhere to add it to the "News" section, but I don't know how to do that and I don't want to go screwing something up by trying to figure out through trial and error. I already have the article up on my blog. That's at this location. Mister President 01:34, October 17, 2009 (UTC)
- First of all, you add it by adding "[[Category:News]] to the post. Second, I don't really think the marriage proposal thing qualifies as news. It's funny, but I think it should stay as a regular newspost. Ausir(talk) 01:39, October 17, 2009 (UTC)
- I was thinking of it along the lines of that laser rifle thing that I saw up a while ago. Something interesting to throw out there. So that brings up the question, what makes something real news? Mister President 00:49, October 19, 2009 (UTC)
- Thing is, this is not really something new, as it's been posted months ago already in our forum, IIRC. How about you modify your post or post again, but this time include info about the interview with the people behind the mod from BethBlog, which is actually something new? Ausir(talk) 01:03, October 19, 2009 (UTC)
- That's what I saw and planned on posting. I just couldn't figure out how. And I put up the wrong URL. Mister President 00:43, October 20, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] IDK WHATS GOING ON
ok so when i play fallout 3 when im walking i will jerk forward and sometimes stop for a very short time. this started as soon as i left the vault. it doesnt always do it but sometimes it can be really bad(like when i did anchorage. does anyone know what i can do to fix this--Vault Myth 20:23, November 1, 2009 (UTC)
- From the sparse description, it sounds like you have framerate issues. This may mean your system is not up to the task. Do you meet minimal requirements for the game? Furthermore, this is not the place to discuss this issue, I recommend you try one of the fine forums, Im sure it is in the lefthand menu. - Redmess 00:33, November 3, 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Background is wrong
Why the fuck does the home page have a background of a game ENTIRELY different from the game this site is dedicated to? I say whoever did it... must die--206.75.130.250 01:21, November 2, 2009 (UTC)
- Huh? I get the normal background myself. Ausir(talk) 01:24, November 2, 2009 (UTC)
- It seems to only appear on my Mac laptop but not on my PC
- Sounds like some browser settings on your Mac. Have you changed some settings for the wiki, or perhaps the browser itself? Did it appear normally before on the Mac, and if so, what changed thereafter? - Redmess 00:36, November 3, 2009 (UTC)
- I'm almost positive it's the site. It's happening to my PC now. The background is of a game called Dragon Age Origins. I think it's just an add to select various skins for your wiki and that the whole page's background is like that as an example. Other than that, I have no idea. --174.3.9.125 22:19, November 3, 2009 (UTC)
- I've noticed it, too. It only appears when you aren't logged in. --FawkesGamer360 22:27, November 3, 2009 (UTC)
- I dont have this problem. Maybe its actually an ad? - Redmess 11:55, November 4, 2009 (UTC)
- Me neither. Tried logging out too, looked the same then. -=KAG=-Discussion - the VaultNO 20:33, November 4, 2009 (UTC)
- This is very strange... --174.3.9.125 22:28, November 5, 2009 (UTC)
