::: I don't. Damage is clearly the most important factor here and that should be the default for this overview in my opinion. It's just strange to see those damage numbers go from 19 to 22 and then back to 20. That sorting on the weapon's name is a bit off is less of a factor and less eye catching. Condensing article pages

OK. Considering the limited length of the weapon articles due to the small amount of detail available from the game, I'm considering whether or not we should change the way we're doing these articles. Since it looks like just about every weapon is going to have 5 variants (rusty, base, enhanced, hardened, armor-piercing), what is the consensus on having all the variants of a single weapon type on one page? For example: Base page name would be Scoped .44, and on that page all the variants (rusty, enhanced, hardened and armor-piercing) would be listed. We would place the stats for the base weapon in the infobox and the stats for the variants in a comparison table. Uniquely names weapons, in this case Lone Wanderer (weapon) would continue to have it's own article, including a comparison table with all variants of the base weapon. To facilitate navigation, all variant page names would be converted to redirects so search will still lead a reader to the correct page. This would allow for a great amount of content on these otherwise skimpy pages. Thoughts? Pros? Cons? The Gunny  UserGunny chevrons 16:53, June 21, 2015 (UTC)

That's what I was thinking as well. I predict these pages as they are now will stay pretty much as they are, with little content. I'm good with condensing. It's a bit unfortunate that all the redirects won't show up in the search bar but it will be ok I think for Shelter. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 16:59, June 21, 2015 (UTC)
i agree but we need to fix the problem with the infobox that is not showing the values Gaming Foxy 17:03, June 21, 2015 (UTC)
Infobox is fixed, and we're adding comparison tables now. After that's done, if there is consensus, all we'd have to do it convert the other pages to redirects. They will show in search suggest, but it will show the first option as the basename page. The Gunny  UserGunny chevrons 18:14, June 21, 2015 (UTC)

This game is popular now but hardly anyone is going to care about it once they've beaten it once and newer stuff, like Fallout 4 itself comes along. It would be better to collect all of the weapons and put them on their own, giant page. The game is small and so should the amount of footprint it leaves on this wiki also be. It would be a lot simpler and more structured also, especially considering weapon icons don't change based on rusty or hardened, et cetera. Really though a page for all types of a specific weapon is better than what we have now, at any case.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.242.149.249 (talkcontribs). Default sort

All other overview pages on this wiki are default sorted alphabetically. This one needs to be sorted consistent with the others. It's a sortable table for a reason and the reader can very easily sort by damage. Default sorting by damage makes it harder to find a specific weapon, since you'll be looking for a NAME, not a number. And it also assumes that damage is more important than any other stat. Why not sort by rarity? The Gunny  UserGunny chevrons 22:58, June 22, 2015 (UTC)

Sorting by name makes the most sense as default and if people want it sorted by other criteria they can click on that column and sort it for themselves. JASPER//"Do you like hurting other people?"UserRichard 23:03, June 22, 2015 (UTC)

I don't. Damage is clearly the most important factor here and that should be the default for this overview in my opinion. It's just strange to see those damage numbers go from 19 to 22 and then back to 20. That sorting on the weapon's name is a bit off is less of a factor and less eye catching.
