Who else is a tad disappointed that you couldn't have the Courier wear a harmless one?--Commander Shepard 18:09, July 21, 2011 (UTC)

There is one from Dead Money that you can wear, its on a mannequin somewhere. I put it on Cass. Sixtyten--Sixtyten6010 21:08, July 21, 2011 (UTC)

Elijah did not make these collars[]

Elijah visited Big Mountain. Yes he stole some technology but he did not spend enough time to say he really studied their function.

  • Elijah found some collars and he learned to inflict old world BM tech on others. Beyond that his BM credit is limited.
  • Elijah did not create the collars nor did he make any effort to save the wastes with their use. Elijah failed.

There is actual proof to the contrary, not to mention that these collars don't seem like a random miscellaneous object with no relevance to any characters.

In late 23rd century, Elijah rediscovered Big MT and for a time used Little Yangtze as his base of operations, reverse engineering the technology used to force prisoners into submission for future use.Little Yangtze page
Researching the collar frequencies, touchy - circuit architecture is messy, de-constructing them taking time. Must be careful, can't be spotted by local robots, or insane brains from the Dome will try to haul me back there, then... research me.Little Yangtze terminal entries
Making his way to Little Yangtze, he experimented on the survivors of the prison camp with explosive collars while, curiosity getting the better of him, seeking out the radio frequency until finally tracking down a faint broadcast.Elijah page

The above quotes show that he indeed did use these collars extensively and that the information in the page makes complete sense. So unless you can cite specifics, I'm afraid I will have to revert the edit. --Skire (talk) 23:34, December 6, 2012 (UTC)

  • All still just paraphrasing. Clips and bits that add up to opinion.

I will admit he looked at the collars but "extensively?" NO, ~that is beyond speculation. The man Elijah could not have logically been at Big Mountain for more than a years at the most. The other NPC characters lock in the FACT that Elijah knew and trained "Veronica Santangelo" who is when encountered most 18.. Then the FACT all other NPC'c who visit OWB are known to have been in contact with Elijah with in one year of the courier be'n shot in the head at Good springs.

Elijah did not have true game time to "Extensively" experiment. He toyed with them and he gathered a few failed experiments.

  • The collars left behind are not necessarily his but more likely the remains of the studies Big Mountain used before the bombs fell in 2077..

He didn't even have to be there for that long to use and leave behind these collars... and they were in the watch tower, where several articles state he has been. It is far more likely that they were left behind by him and not pre-War soldiers/staff. --Skire (talk) 00:48, December 7, 2012 (UTC)

No so sorry but you are wrong. The victims at the Chinese holding site are all ghouls left over from pre 2077 bomb days.

  • Elijah stole a bit of tech before he crashed the trains and escaped OWB but he never mastered it. Even slavers have collars in Fallout 3.. Elijah is a poser.

Sorry I forgot to sign

It seems like you're not the biggest fan of Elijah, which is fine, because I'm not either. But that doesn't change the fact that he was there, utilised those collars, and is 100% plausible and reasonable that he did indeed leave them behind. --Skire (talk) 01:12, December 7, 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for polite conversation, Skire.

  • I mean that that but I can't see how you miss the fact that Fallout 3 had slave collars first and the fact that Mr. House was well into the governments "secret projects" 200 years before Fallout New Vegas.
  • All of the Old World Blues is a time capsule from 2077

* Elijah is 200 years behind the inventions just like all the other BOS.

The slave collar was an old idea long before Elijah was born.

No problem. And I agree with you - he didn't invent it. I don't think the article says he did. They were used before in the camp and only reused by Elijah. And so, it remains true that they were left behind by him, since he was the most recent occupant of the place to have departed. --Skire (talk) 01:29, December 7, 2012 (UTC)
