Removed the video from the page; didn't actually show the rifle well enough, and Boone took my rifle like expected. Thebigschnoz 04:35, October 22, 2010 (UTC)

Where did this come from?96.18.76.204 02:00, April 22, 2010 (UTC)

What's with "epitome of American combat strategy" comment? It seems a bit unnecessary and kind of annoying. Who knows, maybe its called that because its red, white, and blue? Warriors004 18:56, April 23, 2010 (UTC)

Annoying? When all of the American power soldiers in Anchorage use heavy man-portable chainguns that fire at 40000 RPM? Nitty Tok. 19:06, April 23, 2010 (UTC)

Functionality?[]

Does anyone know the level of increased fire? It says fully automatic but the one in FO3 could be considered automatic but it stalled because like a real rifle since it had kick. Its impossible to eliminate all kick and still get the max potential out of the gun (your really just dampening it). That whole its automatic needs to be clarified because the FO3 rifle wasnt bolt action or anything like that, if it means the other type of "automatic" which implies a self loading weapon, then keep it otherwise it might need to say faster rate of fire. A sniper rifle isnt typically known for it expelling large bursts, because that lowers accuracy when really a sniper's used for 1-shot kills. Anyways this needs to be clarified. --FLaSHBaCK HaSH 02:31, April 27, 2010 (UTC)

Fully-automatic, like an assault rifle, machine gun, or submachine gun. Nitty Tok. 02:32, April 27, 2010 (UTC)

I wonder if its a shot at the Bozar... --J.J.-Lopez 05:34, May 28, 2010 (UTC)

Not a Sniper Rifle[]

This weapon's classification and description are incorrect based on what Sawyer has said on the forums. It may have been a full-auto DKS in Van Buren, but in New Vegas it is actually a Semi Auto Marksman Carbine. http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1116454-weapons-mods-and-ammo-mega-thread-3/page__view__findpost__p__16404620 "All-American is semi-automatic but, contrary to what the press has said for the past year or so, it is not a unique capital-S Sniper Rifle. It is a unique capital-M Marksman Carbine."--Resplendant Securitron 20:25, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

Now see, SAWYER uses capital letters. *grumble grumble* Nitty Tok. 20:28, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
All American needs to be moved to the rifles section--Resplendant Securitron 23:56, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
...it is in the rifles section. Nitty Tok. 23:58, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
Maybe it's just my cache or something but for me it's still under Sniper Rifles on the weapons overview page: http://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Fallout:_New_Vegas_weapons--Resplendant Securitron 00:57, September 27, 2010 (UTC)

Where in the locked armory room is this?[]

Topic.

Try looking under the table all the way on the right. Mediocrity Goggles 03:56, October 21, 2010 (UTC)

Pretty sure you need wild wasteland to obtain this.

You don't need Wild Wasteland. It should be noted that there are two armory entrances, one near the entrance to the vault from the natural cave, and one within the first section to the north from the bottom floor. The one with All American is unlocked from the Overseer's Terminal.

glitched location?[]

I have spent hours looking for this and it's not by the table. What gives? Is it glitched? 199.185.113.194 15:19, October 21, 2010 (UTC)

Maybe your follower picked it up (removed non-signed, off-topic, nonsense response) --94.212.252.40 14:14, November 20, 2010 (UTC)

Well Cass had mine somehow before i even was able to get into the armory65.31.196.248 05:26, December 22, 2010 (UTC)

Bug notice!!![]

If you have boon when you go in the Armory, He will pick up the all-american MAKE SURE YOU CHECK HIS INVENTORY

Yeah, that's obviously not a bug. Blutteufel 02:21, November 4, 2010 (UTC)

When I went to the Armory with Boone he picked All American up after i picked on up, so now I have two All-americans.

hmm...[]

Should we make a page on the 82nd? If this rifle has the insignia, can't we infer that they were still around at the time of the great war? YuriKaslov-M1911 small Yuri Kaslov 00:11, October 22, 2010 (UTC)

Is now bro--Blahmarrow 01:42, February 12, 2011 (UTC)

Maybe a bug[]

I don't know if it's mod-related (I have nothing that changes the All-American), but I have 24/760 bullets and I never have to reload (and the magazine/total ammo never goes down either). It also doesn't seem to zoom anymore. (It was fine on my prev playthrough). EDIT: HUH. It doesn't seem to be using any VATS AP either. --Anticitizen101 10:38, October 27, 2010 (UTC)

Nevermind, it was one of the mods.--Anticitizen101 15:00, October 27, 2010 (UTC)

Boone's favorite weapon?[]

As long as the all-american is in Boone's inventory, and he has 5.56mm to go with it, he seems to refuse drawing anything else. He also seems to be extremely proficient in using it, being very fast on the trigger and thus dealing massive amounts of dps. He'll do much less one kill head shots, but i like that, since it finally gives me a chance to kill something :) --DanTheHitman 10:35, November 10, 2010 (UTC)

It is because it's the rifle with the highest DPS. Your companion will always use the highest dps weapon they have bullet for.

listed bugs[]

Have anyone actually experienced the 2 bugs listed? I haven't and it's my main weapon. Gonna delete them if no one else can confirms the bug. Sounds more like general data corruption than a specific issue.

Well, as the person who listed the first bug, I'll submit this picture of what I mean. This isn't exactly a bug, in the normal sense, more like a developer oversight, but it's something that should be fixed just the same. Mediocrity Goggles 22:32, November 11, 2010 (UTC)

WTF i got into the cault 34 armory and got everything inside of it killed every ghoul and searched boone and the WHOLE armory is it just b/c i need an update or a glitch that can't be fixed? The all american didn't appear on the table boone doesn't have it nor does rex i dunno what the fuck

this gun have good camouflage, I missed it the first time too and was like WHAT it should be here! 137.186.66.8

Better weapon?[]

Should i use the All-American or Q-35 Matter Modulator? They both seem awesome, has a small difference in dmg, all-american has higher dps, but Q-35 has higher crit dmg and chance

they are different weapons, all-american is good against multiple enemies at sniping range, the Q-35 is... I guess just worse than AA lol, use all-american

Jury rigging[]

even with Jury Rigging it only can be repaired with marksman rifles?

DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO TURN OFF CAPS LOCK!!!!!!!

Press the caps lock button to turn off caps lock. Complecated eh?

I have a sniper rifle, riot shotgun, assault carbine, and marksman carbine in my inventory that I can jury rig to repair the all American. I'm on PC btw.Willhelm555 (talk) 06:38, July 20, 2015 (UTC)

82nd Airborne history correction[]

No unit of the United States military was desegregated in 1917, as the text of "Behind the Scenes" on the main page implies. The 82nd Airborne did incorporate an all-black parachute unit, the 555th Parachute Infantry Battalion, but that was in 1947, not 1917. James Gavin, the divisional commander in WWII, was one of the leaders in the movement to desegregate the forces, but thus was not accomplished until after WWII. Wunengzi 07:01, December 30, 2010 (UTC)

Actually, no such insignia is to be found on the gun, either. Spurious Behind the scenes section removed. Thanks.--Gothemasticator 07:11, December 30, 2010 (UTC)
It definitely DOES have the 82nd's shoulder insignia on it. YuriKaslov-M1911 small Yuri Kaslov 01:16, December 31, 2010 (UTC)

Fallout Wiki policy on real world weapon references[]

We don't put real-world weapon references on article pages, unless it's the same name as the real-world weapon, or if is mentioned by a developer that the ingame weapon is intended to represent a specific real-world weapon.

United_States_Army_Squad_Designated_Marksman_Rifle[]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Army_Squad_Designated_Marksman_Rifle

"Variants

The 82nd Airborne Division examined an alternate version, based on the M4 carbine. The barrel was to have been an 18-inch (460 mm) long fluted Douglas barrel with 1:8 twist. A mid-length gas system was to be used, along with the Daniel Defense M4Rail 9.0 handguard. This effort never went beyond the staffing process."

What's your point? - RASIC Talk Poll 04:54, June 1, 2011 (UTC)

Someone go harass Sawyer about it. If they want this to be acknowledged as a customized M4, they better go on Formspring and drone on about it until Sawyer magically appears and grants their wish. *sarcasm*Don't you just love this efficient method of confirmation required by this site?*sarcasm* --Delta1138 SnooPING AS usual I see 20:26, October 17, 2011 (UTC)
